Angels (1/1)
Another multichaptered one!I'm sorry guys, I don't know what has gotten into me lately, maybe i'm just procrastinating my school work so much that I write huge oneshots? Anyways, i'll uploading part two in a bit too as usual, I won't keep you all waiting too long :)[By the way, the person who requested it: I've never done this before so I might just disappoint you keeeeeeeeeeee T_T]--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last thing he remembered was the car racing into his direction right before he closed his eyes behind the steering wheel. The deafening sound of the crash. The way his body stiffened and the sudden wave of tranquility that washed over him as he realized, accepted, he was about to die. He should’ve felt something, like maybe intense pain, or the pressure of a large vehicle upon him, crushing his bones. Hear the sound of an ambulance, maybe a woman screaming? It was broad daylight, wasn’t it? Why wasn’t anybody helping him? Why wasn’t he being carried onto a stretcher or maybe driven into a hospital? Had the world been happy that he died or something? Was he forgotten already? And by the way… why the hell wasn’t he feeling anything?! When he finally did feel something, it was far from the agonizing pain he expected. It was a prickling in his eyes of the white light that shone though his lids them. Just a prickling. Nothing more, nothing less. He moaned, not really aware of what was going on but happy that he was at least in the hospital. That’s where the white light came from, right? He tried to move but found himself tied up, or maybe it wasn’t tied up since he didn’t feel any ropes, maybe he was held in place or something. Maybe I’m paralyzed… shot through his head and he immediately opened his eyes, regretting it instantly as the bright lights almost burned into his vision and he let out a gasp of pain.‘Oh my goodness, I think he’s up! He’s up!’ It was a deep, exciting voice, full of enthusiasm and youthfulness. It was boyish, maybe a bit rough around the edges, not very sophisticated, but it was nice to hear. Very different from the horrible lights that didn’t stop hurting his eyes and the fact that he couldn’t move his arms to block them out was kind of disturbing.‘You could just calm the hell down, it’s not like we don’t have time,’ another voice said. The tone a bit shrill, but nonetheless it was quite pleasant to listen to. A bit aristocratic even, and with the same amount of youth in the vibrating sound.‘You shouldn’t say ‘hell’ here, hyung, you know that,’ the deeper voice said with a displeased sound and if he could just open my goddamn eyes!‘Oh! Oh no, he said it!’‘He’s going to get trouble for this…’‘Hyung, what do we do he just got here!’ He didn’t know what they were talking about, but there was no chance to find out because he suddenly felt an agonizing sting shooting through his head and he gasped before he let out a horrible scream of torturing pain.‘Aah! Aah! Help me! HELP ME!’ He shouted. Didn’t they hear him? Were they gone? What the hell was he being punished for?!‘Help me! Please!’ He begged, and he felt two hands cupping his face.‘Just… just say you’re sorry! Say you’re sorry and it’ll be fine! Gosh, why do they have to be so strict in this place..?’‘W-what?! Just fucking help me!’ he yelled. What the hell was that shrill voice trying to tell him? Why did he feel so much damn pain?!‘God fucking damned this HURTS!’‘NO!’ the deep voice shouted. He blacked out seconds after the words had left his lips and his head had almost burst into a thousand pieces. ‘Well, I mean… it’s his own fault…’‘You know we didn’t even have the time to explain the rules to him, how was he supposed to know? I remember another particular person cursing his ass off too the first week he got here…’‘Well, you’ve got it all easy, don’t you? You were born in a century where cursing in God’s name was equally blasphemous as premarital sex and doing the boogie with the devil himself. You’re ancient.’‘Hyung, are you telling me that it’s okay for you to curse in His name, because you were born in the 20th century? Do you really think people didn’t curse in my time?’‘Well… it’s different now. We have television. And stop calling me hyung, you’re like three hundred years older than me.’‘I lived more than a year shorter for you and for that you’re my hyung.’‘Whatever, just know that I’ve already asked for a transfer, and you should too. I don’t like being at the Gate clinic at all, it’s depressing. All these objecting, frustrated, Newdeads…’‘You’re transferring?! I thought we were a team! I like it at the clinic, but not without you…’‘Then come with me, we could… Oh, I think he’s awake.’ He opened his eyes slowly, grumbling angry when he still couldn’t process the amount of light shining in this place but he saw two silhouettes hovering over his… bed?‘What’s going on?’ he just asked, eyes closed again.‘Before you say or think anything, please know that you can’t use the Lord’s name in vain here. So no ‘blank’ damneds, or any other bad usage of the three holy letters or you’ll experience the exact amount of pain you just felt before you blacked out again, got it?’ it was the aristocratic, shrill voice. He hated it already, but he tried to keep the advice in mind. Unlike how he got here, he remembered the pain he felt very vividly.‘Also, you’ll probably have some difficulty using your limbs, but that’ll get better by the hour,’ the deeper voice said, he liked that one better.‘We know the lights are a bit too much to handle in the beginning, but trust me, you’ll get used to it.’‘Yeah, you could say that,’ he just murmured, receiving a chuckle from the deep voice.‘Until then, here are your shades,’ the shrill voice said and before he knew it he had some sort of glasses pushed on his nose and he slightly opened his eyes, finding himself looking through actual shades and he blinked when he saw what was hovering over him. Or hanging? Floating?‘What the hell are you two?!’ he yelped when he could finally distinguish their bodies from the rest of the hall he was in. They were both dressed in completely white suits, practically as white as the rest of the room and it was difficult telling everything apart. His voice echoed through the hall and he heard a couple of angry huffs and moans around him, indicating others were trying to sleep. He looked around and back at the two… things.‘Don’t freak out, Mr. Grumpy,’ the whatever the hell he was with the deep voice laughed at him but he couldn’t possibly smile back because there were two young men with wings floating above him and he was about to pass out again.‘Yeah, relax, take it all in for a second. I think that if you aren’t too much of a dumbass you can figure out what we are and where you are pretty easily and then our job for today is done,’ the boy with the shrill voice said. He felt drool gathering at the left corner of his mouth from the way he had been gaping at them and he quickly closed it.‘He’s cute,’ the other boy chuckled and he wanted to know how badly he was drugged right now.‘You’re not on drugs. But you are in an all white hall with two guys with wings flying around you,’ Shrill Voice answered his thoughts and he frowned. So they read minds.‘And we don’t read minds, we’re just pretty used to this,’ Deep Voice continued to chuckle, earning rolling eyes from Shrill Voice.‘Am I… am I dead?’ he asked, not really wanting to know the answer but this place did look hell of a lot like a movie he had once seen and he was terrified at the moment. Shrill Voice smiled and flew so close their noses almost touched. He crawled back into his bed as the other looked him straight in the eye with a cheeky smile.‘Bingo.’ After about three hours of screaming in disbelief, crying over his misfortune, throwing with objects who miraculously folded back into their old shape as if they were made of clouds, and cursing all there was to curse (which also gave him a couple of extra head ached), he finally settled down. His tear smeared face was folded into a deep frown as he was slowly understanding and accepting the situation and his breath finally eased.‘Why do we all wear the same clothes?’ he mumbled softly, turning away from the two who had endured all his shouting with admirable patience as he shifted in his bed.‘We’re all equal in Heaven,’ Deep Voice responded quickly.‘Not equally pretty, but those are qualities that don’t count here… well, at least that’s what they try to teach you but if you ask me-’‘What are your names? Why are you staying with me?’ he interrupted Shrill Voice. The other sighed and sat next to him on the bed.‘I am Sang Hyun and that is Chul Yong. We are your Welcomers.’‘What’s a Welcomer?’ he asked and he suddenly realized how beautiful the boy was that had sat down by his bedside. His dark brown hair was styled into a slight Mohawk and it accentuated his catlike eyes, sideburns tickling his high cheekbones and making his pale skin stand out. He had small but pouty lips, a relatively large nose. The complete picture made his face look like nothing but pure cuteness. He was tall though, long legs and broad shoulders that carried the large angel wings powerfully. He looked like he was made for wearing suits, and he could see the tense fabric around his obviously apparent biceps.‘A Welcomer is somebody who welcomes you in Heaven. We’re here to introduce you to your new life… after life, I mean,’ Sang Hyun said and he smiled at him, revealing his perfectly white teeth and folding his facial features into an even more stunning sight.‘So you’re both angels?’ he asked, turning his head away as he tried not to blush. He’s so beautiful…‘Yup! Although Sang Hyun isn’t known for behaving like one. He has one of those spoiled 21th century minds,’ Chul Yong said and he hopped onto the bed next to Sang Hyun, making the other scoop in annoyance. The younger boy was also breathtakingly pretty. He had short black hair that stood into all kinds of directions, but made him look cute as his large puppy dog eyes revealed every emotion he felt. He had soft looking lips that framed his teeth into a wide and sincere smile that popped up every two seconds. He looked like an energetic piece of work, his wings dancing around as he spoke. His slender figure gave him something delicate and he also possessed that beauty that made you want to gape at it all day long.‘And I can’t curse in God’s name here?’‘Definitely not,’ Sang Hyun said with an evil smirk, ‘unless you’d like to humor me…’‘Hyung, that’s against the rules, you can’t find joy in pain!’ Chul Yong said with huge eyes of astonishment but the other boy just waved his comment away. They were almost like fire and ice, so different as they approached each question in their own way. One sarcastic and cool, the other quirky and childlike. Their eyes show their rivalry, cat versus dog…‘So… am I an angel too?’ he asked and there was a silence as the two boys looked at him with pondering faces, their huge wings lowering slightly as they thought.‘I mean… is he?’ Sang Hyun asked Chul Yong. The other shrugged.‘Normally there’d be a Supervisor here now but I can’t see Seung Ho or Byung Hee anywhere…’‘So, did you die in an accident or did you commit suicide?’‘Hyung!’‘What?!’ Sang Hyun gave Chul Yong an annoyed look that almost made the man in the bed chuckle and the younger boy pushed him.‘You can’t just ask stuff like that, he just died!’‘Well, it could explain why he hasn’t been taken to the Large Room yet, right? You’re the one who’s been here for over three hundred years, you should know that sometimes they make exceptions for unfortunate deaths, you idiot!’ Chul Yong was silent and looked at Sang Hyun for a second before he grumbled something that sounded like ‘I’m not an idiot, I just forget things quickly’ and then turned back to the man in the bed.‘So did you die in an accident?’ He thought long and hard, the memories of his life before so vague it almost felt like he hadn’t lived at all, like he never had a life before this one.‘There was a car…’ he remembered and the two of them held their breaths. The wings of Chul Yong shot up in excitement, making him smile a little.‘… I honestly- Why can’t I remember anything?’ he snapped in frustration as he tried really hard to visualize the last thing that happened before he ended up in this place.‘It’s precaution. Some people die in such horrible ways they don’t remember a thing when they come here. Look at it like doing you a favor. The more hurt you’ve felt during your life on earth, the less you remember. People who die after a healthy and fruitful life of happiness remember almost everything. Others have endured so much pain that it would be torture to let them remember it for the rest of eternity,’ Sang Hyun said and Chul Yong nodded.‘I met a guy once who remembered almost his whole life, I was so jealous. I only remember my teenage years when I worked with my sister in the fields on the countryside. I guess my childhood sucked,’ he explained.‘But don’t worry, we’re not saying you had a shitty life, you probably just don’t remember yet, since it takes time to get accustomed to this place and your new body and whatever,’ Sang Hyun quickly said as he opened his mouth to retort. New body?‘What do you mean new body?’ he asked and he looked at his hands and chest that looked the same, except for the crisp white suit he was in even though he was in a hospital bed.‘Your back,’ Chul Yong smiled at him and he frowned as he looked over his shoulder.‘Did you have to tell him like that? Really?’He heard Sang Hyun complain, but he couldn’t process it because he gasped when he saw what they had meant with ‘new’ and let out a large scream.‘WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE?!’
