Poke.“Hmm,” murmured a sleepy Luhan; his eyes were closed.Poke. Poke.“Stop it,” He said as he finally opened his eyes. He turned around to see who was responsible for all the poking. He spotted a smiling Kai kneeling over him, jabbing his finger at the side of Luhan’s stomach.“Wake up sleepyhead!” Kai sang happily, as he opened the curtains, revealing the blinding rays of the sun.Luhan sat up straight from his bed and rubbed his tired eyes. “What time is it?” he asked.“It’s six thirty in the morning,” replied Kai, who was now searching through the closet for something. “Here it is” he said as he made his way back to Luhan, carrying what looked like a pair of clothing and a pair of shoes in his arms.“What’s that?” Luhan questioned, eyeing the pile in Kai’s arms.“This right here,” Kai pointed to the pair of clothes, “Is your school uniform!”Kai handed the set of clothes to Luhan. He gave Luhan a pair of long black dress pants, a white dress shirt, a red and blue plaid tie, a pair of black dress shoes, and a khaki coloured blazer. It could have been worse, Luhan thought, cringing slightly.Luhan got changed and headed to the washroom to get ready. He turned the knob but it was locked. He knocked on the door.“Is anyone in there?”“Oh, Luhan? Just a minute.” Somebody replied. The voices of more than one person could be heard. The door opened and Luhan went inside.Inside the washroom were a total of five other guys: Minseok, Suho, Chanyeol, Yixing, and Jongdae. They were all getting ready: Minseok was cleaning his glasses with a piece of cloth, Suho and Chanyeol were brushing their teeth, Yixing was fixing his hair, and Jongdae was sitting on the toilet singing T-ara’s Bo Peep Bo Peep.“Sorry Luhan,” Minseok said while putting his glasses back on. “We have ten guys and one washroom, so we have to share. I hope you don’t mind.” He gave Luhan a sad smile.“I don’t mind at all.” Luhan replied, as he grabbed a new toothbrush from the sink cabinet.After he got ready, he went to eat breakfast with the others. After he was finished, it was time to leave for school.Everyone was at the front door, waiting to leave for school. “Is everyone ready?” Suho asked aloud, looking around at the other boys to see if they were set to go.“Yes!”“Of course”“My shoe! Jongdae, give me back my shoe!”Luhan looked at Kai, and Kai grinned at him. Luhan was feeling nervous. This would be his first day of school. Most importantly, this was his first time attending a Korean school. Since the distance to the school from the dorm wasn’t far, the boys walked. Minseok, Jongdae, Chanyeol, and Baekhyun walked together, discussing RPG games and celebrity gossip. Suho and Kyungsoo walked with arms linked together, discussing about foreign recipes that they wanted to try out. Kris walked alone, ahead of everyone else, and Kai and Luhan walked together. Kai was telling Luhan about Korean norms.“Remember to bow to those who are older than you! It’s a sign of respect,” Kai said, demonstrating the gesture. “It should be a 45 degrees bow, but if you really want to show a lot of respect, do a 90 degrees bow.”Luhan looked at Kai and tried to imitate Kai’s actions. “Like this?” he asked Kai.Kai snickered, because Luhan looked like a cell phone, opening and closing. “Close enough,” he replied with a huge grin. They finally reached the school after walking for twenty minutes. Luhan looked up at the words printed on the front of the school. “Seoul National School of Arts” the words read. Luhan was amazed. The school was beautiful. The gothic architecture of the school surprised him, because he had only seen schools like this in movies. The outside of the school was a nice ivory colour. The windows that were lined were huge windows that were the size of doors. Even the school gates looked beautiful; they were also a nice ivory colour. This was no ordinary school, Luhan thought.Kai noticed that Luhan was gaping at school’s layout. “Are you that amazed, dear Luhan?”Luhan nodded his head, his mouth wide open. That’s when the thought hit him. This school was way too beautiful to let anyone in. He turned to Kai.“Just how to students get to go to a school like this?” He asked, eyebrows raised. “This looks like a very special school.”“Well, this art school is very special and it’s different from other art schools,” Kai responded, looking proud that he attended a school like this. “This school was made solely for teenaged trainees, actors, and idols.”“Please go on.” Luhan asked, obviously very curious about the school.Kai chuckled. “The reason why the school looks so nice is because entertainment agencies donate money to the school. Those agencies want their trainees, idols, and actors to go to a nice school. No company would want their talent to go to a crappy school. Anyways, why don’t we go inside? You don’t want to be late for your first class, right?” The interior of the building was just as exquisite as the exterior. When Luhan stepped in the school with Kai, he was astonished. Kai glanced at Luhan. “How does it look? Not too bad right?”“Uhh.” Luhan was at a loss of words, his speech incomprehensible.“Shall I give you a tour since we have ten minutes to spare?” Kai asked, staring briefly at his watch.Luhan nodded his head up and down. Like a child who went to the zoo, his eyes searched everywhere, mesmerized. After touring the whole school, Luhan found out that there were four levels in the school. The first floor of the school held everyone’s lockers and had the cafeteria. The second floor of the school had regular classrooms, offices, and teacher’s offices. The third floor had the dance rooms and recording room, and the fourth floor was where the gym and fitness rooms were.  The reason why the gym and fitness rooms were located on the highest floor, was because the creators of the school wanted the students to get extra exercise by making the students walk up five flights of stairs whenever they had gym.There was one thing that Luhan didn’t comprehend. He didn’t understand why a beautiful school did not have beautiful uniforms. That was the bad thing about Seoul National School of Arts.  Kai agreed with him but did not know the answer why. The bell rang and Luhan and Kai separated ways after Kai walked Luhan to his homeroom class. Kai was a year younger than Luhan and he wasn’t in the same class as Luhan. He was in his second year of high school, while Luhan was in his third.  Kris, Minseok, Baekhyun, and Suho were in the same year as him, but unfortunately, they were not assigned in the same class as Luhan.  Luhan took a step and opened the door that revealed his classroom. Everyone was already seated inside. Everyone stared at him, wondering who he was. The teacher was busy writing something on the board, it looked like he was writing up a lesson. Luhan knocked on the open door to get the teacher’s attention. The teacher turned around and noticed him“Are you the new exchange student from Beijing?” he asked nicely with a welcoming smile.Luhan nodded and smiled back.“Hi there! I’m Mr. Lee.” He said.Luhan introduced himself.“Hi, I’m Luhan and I’m from Beijing. Please take care of me.” He said aloud.After Luhan introduced himself, he did what Kai taught him, he bowed a 45 degree bow. Everyone was impressed by his actions, especially the girls.“He’s so cute!”“Is he a doll?”“Teacher, can he sit here?”Luhan blushed out of embarrassment and looked at the students more clearly. Everyone was beautiful, he noticed. He also noticed that there were a few idols in his classroom. He spotted Taemin (SHINee), Jinyoung (B1A4), Youngjae (BAP), and even T-ara’s Jiyeon.“Haha, sorry girls, but Luhan isn’t going to be sitting next to you. Luhan you sit there” he pointed at an empty seat in the back of the class. “Next to... Sehun.”Luhan made his way towards his seat. While he was doing this, the students in the classroom started murmuring to each other. “Yikes, is this Sehun’s competition?”“I actually think Luhan looks better than Sehun.”“You guys stop, Sehun is going to kill us.”Luhan was confused to why they put him in a conversation with a guy he didn’t know.  He sat down in his seat and turned to the person who was named Sehun. “Hi, I’m Luhan. Nice to meet you,” he said with a smile.Sehun turned and glared at him coldly, looking annoyed. This wasn’t the reaction Luhan expected. Sehun leaned in and looked at Luhan deep in his eyes. “I’m going to make you wish that you never came here in the first place,” he whispered angrily, sending shivers down Luhan’s spine.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is my longest chapter so far!
