Who Run the World (Girls) (1/1)
Jungkook leans against the wall and fixes her skirt so it ends just above the top of her black thigh-high socks, brushing down her school uniform and generally doing everything possible to appear prim and proper; a few meters to her left Taehyung slips out of the maintnance closet she was hiding in, her freckled cheeks slightly rosy and her smile vibrant as she slides across the hall to join Jungkook in her current leaning place against the wall. Not one of the dozens of students even spares them a glance and Jungkook smiles, letting out a small breath she didn’t know she was holding in."This is the last time I’m skipping biology for this," Taehyung whispers frantically, her hands busying themselves with trying to flatten down the many stray hairs in her short haircut, her pale skin a stark contrast against the sheer orangeness of her hair. Jungkook scoffs and rolls her eyes, nudging the other in the side with her elbow."You’re literally the only person in the entire grade who cares about the carbon cycle," she teases, and Taehyung’s outrage is evident in the sharp movement of her pushing her glasses up her nose and huffing in annoyance. Taehyung is a lost cause when it comes to biology; the girl has a strange obsession with the matter, often spending many hours in the biology labs and the science section of the school’s library in search of new material on the subject that any normal person would consider as utterly boring. Jungkook couldn’t be less interested in the older girl’s long lectures about how plants once used to rule the planet and how one can only benefit from being a vegetarian; as far as Jungkook’s concerned, plants are plants and meat is delicious.A flash of pale bright pink catches Jungkook’s attention and she raises her head to see Yoongi quickly marching up to them, her outfit completely devoid of anything that even resembles a school uniform and her long pink hair swaying behind her. The girl looked positively murderous and the students hurry to clear the path to let her through; nobody wants to mess with the school’s top bitch. While the entire school’s population seems to be terrified of said top bitch, Taehyung doesn’t even bat an eyelid when the pink haired girl finally grinds to a stop in front of her and Jungkook, instead choosing to flash her a bright smile and a small wave. Yoongi seems to have a strange soft spot for Jungkook and Taehyung; most students choose to ignore the pair at best and bully them for their relationship at worst, but not Yoongi. The girl has taken the pair under her wing ever since the very first day of school last year, and Taehyung wasn’t one to complain; if there’s anything she’s learnt over the past year and a half under Yoongi’s protection, it’s that Min Yoongi doesn’t give a fuck. “How’s it going, Yoongi?”"Awful," Yoongi spits through her teeth, head cocked to the side and arms crossed over her (unfortunately small) chest in a pure picture of annoyance. "I’m failing math. Mrs. Gong says private tutoring will probably be best, to which I say fuck you all and good night."Jungkook jumps up a bit at that, a hopeful undertone to her voice as she suggests, “Maybe you should ask Seokjin for some help. She’s the only girl in the mathletes, I’m sure she’s used to tutoring anyway.”The Seokjin in question is absolute math and chemistry genius Kim Seokjin, also known as Jin for short- nobody knew why she preffered to go by that name, but it was all water under the bridge in the end, because the girl had the sexual appetite of an anaconda.Yoongi shakes her head and her pink hair swishes around behind her; Jungkook takes a minute to admire the way her hair catches the light before snapping out of it. “I’ve had a few private lessons with her, and we ended up making out both times. Believe me, the girl is dangerous.”"I bet she tastes like mint," Taehyung muses out loud, and both Jungkook and Yoongi completely ignore that thought; the amount of crap they hear from Taehyung is really astonishing and honestly, Jungkook thinks she deserves a medal for keeping up with Taehyung’s shit for the past three years. The bell rings harshly through the halls and Taehyung jumps, completely shaken out of her musings of Kim Seokjin and her supposed taste when the dozens of students all around them suddenly start to move with increased speed and locker doors are slammed shut across the hall. Jungkook sighs and runs a hand through her long hair, pushing herself up and away from the wall. “What lesson do you have now?” She asks the completely unphazed Yoongi as she adjusts one of her bra straps."Social studies."Jungkook raises an eyebrow. “Are you going?”Yoongi seems to consider that idea briefly before shrugging, her expression completely blank save for a strange gleam in her eyes. “Nope.”"Come on, we have geography," Taehyung urges while grabbing Jungkook’s thin wrist, pulling her down the hall towards their classroom. "See you later, Yoongi!"The pink haired girl nods absentmindedly before turning around and sashaying down the hall; one boy literally presses himself against the wall as she marches by, and Yoongi smirks to herself in approval."Top bitch," she hums as she makes her way to the bleachers.------"Go, Namjoon!" Hoseok shrieks at the soccer field, her hands clasped together tightly and her curly black hair bouncing on her back as she jumps up and down excitedly, her eyes trained completely on the blonde soccer player currently running dangerously close to the goal, her long legs kicking the ball in front of her and maneuvering smartly around attacking players. She looks completely fierce like this, Hoseok thinks in admiration, and another cheer of "Way to go!" leaves her as she waves her arms around.Jimin laughs from her place next to her and Hoseok can practically hear the smirk in her voice when the younger says, “Dude, scream louder, I’m pretty sure there’s a sleeping man in Australia that didn’t hear you.”"Shut up," Hoseok shoots at her angrily, fixing the skirt of her cheerleader outfit so it’s just short enough. "I’m being supportive, which is something you’ll never be able to understand.""Ouch," Jimin says in mock hurt, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she rests a perfectly manicured hand on her (huge) chest, right over where her heart should be. "You hit me right where it hurts- my inability to sympathize with other human beings.""Fuck off.""I’m just messing with you!" Jimin shoots to her feet and wraps an arm around Hoseok’s shoulders, her obnoxious smile blinding everyone in a three meter radius. On the field, the soccer coach whistles to signal the end of practice and Namjoon runs over to them with a proud smile on her lips, blonde hair strands stuck to her face despite the high ponytail she had done her hair in earlier. Hoseok passes her a water bottle and Namjoom down the whole thing in a minute, breath loud and wheezy when she finally throws the bottle back at Hoseok. "I rocked back there," she breathes excitedly, and Jimin nods blandly."We noticed.""You really were the best, as always," Hoseok adds quickly, shooting the shorter girl next to her a dirty look from the corner of her eye. Jimin gives zero fucks.Namjoon, however, beams at Hoseok in gratitude, and that’s exactly when Seokjin decides to grace them with her presece, light brown hair pulled up into a messy bun and skirt way too short for comfort. “You look like a tomato,” she greets Namjoon, and the blonde girl smiles at her."You look like shit," she shoots right back at her, and the low ooooooooooh sound Jimin lets out doesn’t escape their ears; they just choose to ignore it, like they always do.Hoseok smiles at Seokjin and gives her a short hug, as per custom. “There’s a party tonight at Jinri’s, are you coming?” She asks the brunette when they pull apart, and Seokjin nods enthusiastically, her almost not-there freckles popping up now that the sun is shining directly at her."We’re going to stay at Namjoon’s afterwards, you can join us," Hoseok suggests."Actually, you probably should join us if we don’t want a replay of the last party we went to," Jimin interrupts matter-of-factly. "How you managed to get home is beyond me.""Don’t drink and drive, kids," Namjoon mumbles, and Jimin rolls her eyes at her.Seokjin fishes her phone out and unlocks it swiftly, quickly typing what’s probably a very urgent text message to one of her many fuck buddies. “Actually, I have a place to stay tonight in case I get really drunk, but thanks for the suggestion,” she says after pocketing her phone and Hoseok nods and shrugs; it’s probably best anyway. Keeping Jimin and Seokjin together in the same room for too long is never a good idea. The bell rings and Namjoon salutes them all with a sarcastic smile, her face looking a lot less like a tomato now. “Gotta hit the showers, girls,” she says. “Hoseok, I’ll see you in chemistry.”"No problem," Hoseok mumbles, but Namjoon’s already gone; the knowing smiles on both Seokjin and Jimin look completely devious and she shifts in her spot, arms coming up to fold across her chest protectively. "What.""How's that little crush on Namjoon workin' out for ya," Jimin drawls merrily, and Hoseok resists the urge to punch her straight in the face, choosing to turn around and head towards the entrance back into the school building. The sounds of Seokjin and Jimin laughing follow her all the way inside.
