[M] True Love (1/2)

Woohyun took the elevator back upstairs to sit in one of the waiting chairs by Jisu’s door, to wait for the doctor.

Jisu’s dad waits outside, still pondering on what Woohyun had said to him as he waits for Lee Chanji to arrive.

After a few moments, a car pulls up to the hospital entrance. Chanji steps out of the car, and his father waves to Jisu’s father.

Chanji approaches her father, “Hello Mr. Oh.” Chanji bows. “How’s Jisu?”

“We don’t know what’s going on yet. We’re still waiting for the doctors.” He explained.

“We?” Chanji asks.

“Yes, Jisu’s friend Woohyun is here with me.” Jisu’s dad rolls his eyes and Chanji smirks.

“Let’s go inside and wait, my boy.” Mr. Oh placed his arm around Chanji’s shoulder and leds him upstairs to the waiting area.

When they reach the waiting area , Woohyun ignores their presence.

“Woohyun, this is the baby’s father, Chanji.” Jisu’s father introduces.

“Yeah, whatever. I’m not here to comfort him. I’m here for one reason and one reason only. That being, Oh Jisu.” Woohyun turns his head, annoyed.

“You don’t belong here.” Chanji says bluntly to Woohyun.

“And you do?” Woohyun threw back at Chanji.

“Yeah, I’m the baby’s father.”

“You don’t even try to be apart of Jisu’s pregnancy. You told Jisu straight up that you didn’t want anything to do with the baby. So, why are you here? Were you forced to come? Huh?” Woohyun questions irritated.

Chanji smirks.

“That’s what I thought.” Woohyun rolls his eyes as he turns his head in the other direction.

Jisu’s father just sits, confused.

After a few moments of silence, a doctor comes out from Jisu’s room, and all of them stand from their seats waiting to hear what the doctor has to say.

“Jisu and the baby are going to be fine.” The doctor smiles at the boys.

“Then what is the cause of Jisu’s pain?” Woohyun questions.

“Jisu seems to be having small contractions. They seem to be very spaced out though. So, we won’t be keeping her, but it seems that we will be keeping her on bed rest. We want her to be able to hold the baby as long as possible. Keeping her bedridden for now seems to be the only option.” The doctor explains. The boys and Jisu’s father all nod their heads.

“Is there a caretaker of Miss Oh present?” The doctor questions.

“Her caretaker is not present, sir.” Woohyun explains to the doctor.

“Ah, I see. So, neither of her parents are here?” The doctor questions.

“Well, I am her father sir, but she doesn’t live with me.” Mr. Oh explains.

“Ah, ok. Well then. Does anyone have any way of contacting her caretaker?”

“Yes, I have her cellphone, and I am sure her aunts number is in here.” Woohyun says holding up Jisu’s phone.

“Great. Please contact her aunt, then, and tell her she needs to be here to get Jisu home.” The doctor explains.

“Sure.” Woohyun agrees, and leaves to go call Giyeon.

The doctor turns to go fill out Jisu’s paperwork.

“Excuse me, sir?” Jisu’s father calls for the doctor.

“Yes, sir?”

“Why is it that I can’t take her home?” He asks.

“You are no longer her caretaker, correct? You gave her to someone else, correct?” The doctor throws questions at Jisu’s father.

“Yes, sir.” Jisu’s father looks down in shame.

“Then that’s your answer, Mr. Oh.” The doctor leaves on that note, and goes to fill out Jisu’s paperwork.

Jisu’s father sits down on one of the waiting seats, and looks down shamefully.

“It’s ok, sir. You did what you thought would be best.” Chanji tries to comfort him.

“No. Chanji, I did what I thought would be less humiliating for me. I didn’t even think of Jisu when my decision was made.” A tear rolled down his cheek, and Chanji stayed quiet.

“Hello?”

“Giyeon?” Woohyun asked from the other side of the phone.

“Yes, who is this? Why do you have Jisu’s phone?” Giyeon asked worriedly.

“Giyeon, it’s me, Woohyun.”

“Oh, Woohyun. You had me worried.” Giyeon sighed heavily.

“Giyeon, you need to come to the hospital.”

“Why? Is Jisu ok? What’s going on?” She asked frantically.

“The doctor says that she is having small contractions, and needs to be put on bed rest.” Woohyun explains.

“Oh dear.” Giyeon worries.

“They need you to come and escort her home.”

“Alright, dear. Tell her to be strong and I will be there as soon as I can. Tell her I love her, Woohyun.”

Woohyun smiles, “Yes, ma’am.”

“Oh, and Woohyun?”

“Hm?”

“Thank you.”

“For what, Giyeon?”

“For taking care of Jisu. She needed someone to care for her. She was so depressed. Thank you.” Giyeon whimpered on the other end.

Woohyun felt a lump in his throat.

He cleared his throat before speaking, “It’s not a problem, Giyeon. I love her.”

“I know you do, dear. Now, go be with her for me. I will be there soon.” Giyeon hung up.

Woohyun smiled. I love you, Oh Jisu. He headed back upstairs.

When Woohyun got back upstairs, a nurse was getting ready to enter Jisu’s room.
