Promise (1/1)
(Neira's POV)~Four Days Later~Sunlight was drifting in from between the curtains but I was too weak to get up. My eyes glanced at the clock. 8am. I know I should get up but I just can't bring myself to. Slowly, I pulled back the blankets and sat up, sliding my legs over the edge. I pressed my foot against the hardwood flooring and felt the smooth coldness underneath my toes.“Are you up?” GD called as he scrambled into my room, his arms outstretched.“What's up?” I asked, alarmed. “Don't come out yet, okay?” he spluttered. “I'll come and get you, it's a surprise.”I rolled my eyes as he accidentally slammed my door shut with a bang! “Sorry!” I heard his muffled voice through the door. I chuckled. What is he up to now?I sat at the edge of my bed as I heard some thumps and even a couple of crashes as GD cursed underneath his breath, once or twice I thought I even heard TOP's voice as he said, “No, put it there! Not there, here!” Curious I got up and was about to open the door but thought once more about it and instead opened the door to my closet. I pulled out a creamy colored sweater and dark blue skinny jeans. Slowly, I got dressed as GD finished up whatever he was doing. Finally he came back.“Here,” he huffed as he closed the door behind him and ran over to me. “I'm gonna put this on you.”He held up a white handkerchief and wrapped it around my eyes.“What are you doing?” I asked. “Shhh, it's a surprise,” he said.He took me by the hand and tugged on my arm to make me stand. “Follow me,” he said. I followed as he led me out of my bedroom, his arms supporting me as I walked. “Just a little further,” he said. “Ok, right here,” he slowly turned me around and seated me in a chair. Gently he removed the cloth from around my eyes. “Ok, open up,” he whispered. My eyelids fluttered opened and I blinked twice, adjusting to the lights.“Oh my gosh, what did you do?” I gasped. The room had been completely transformed. It looked like a Paris boutique/cafe, he had repainted the walls a cheery yellow and a chandelier dangled over an antique table and sitting right in the middle of it was a Yule Log. I covered my mouth with my hand, trying to swallow back the knot of emotions in my throat. “I couldn't take you to the places you want to go to, so I figured why not bring it to you?” GD explained.“Ohhh,” I said. “It must have taken you forever...”“Well, the guys did help a little,” GD replied. “Taeyang found the table, Daesung and SeungRi painted the room and TOP helped with the rest of the accessories. I found the cake and... other things.” He gave me a mischievous smile. “C'mon,” he added as he pushed my chair up to the table. “Let's play a game, I'm the waiter and you're the guest of honor and we'll call this little place 'Coffee Prince'.”“Coffee Prince?” I commented. “That's a little random?”GD chuckled. “I heard it somewhere, that's all.”(If you don't understand the joke, go to youtube.com and type in 'Coffee Prince Big Bang' and watch Big Bang's little video. It's really funny!) (GD's POV)She looked at me with her charming face. Even though I could tell her condition had grown worse in the last couple of days she was still trying to put on a brave face for me.I watched as she ate a small piece of the cake. She must have really wanted that cake because she didn't throw up like she did to a lot of other food she ate. When I could tell she had finished, by the way she sat down her fork, I cleared it away quickly and ran back to her. “One more surprise,” I said. She cocked her head to the side. “Huh? What is it?”“Close your eyes first.”She gave me a cute glare and closed her eyes willingly. This is it. I let out a slow breath and took out the little velvet box from my pocket. “Ok, open your eyes.”I stared at her face intently as her eyes fell on what I was holding.“Oh, GD!” she gasped as she raised a hand to her chest.I flipped open the top to reveal a fortune cookie. Her eyes looked confused as she glanced at the cookie."Uhmmm, wat?" she mumbled.I smiled at her. "Open it," I whispered. She picked up the cookie gingerly in her hand and slowly split it in half. It was as though we were holding our breaths, waiting for the final countdown. This is it... “Neira, will you marry me?” I asked as the ring fell onto the table top. Glistening underneath the lights.~~~~ (Neira's POV)I stared at the little diamond ring sitting on the smooth table top. “GD, I – I..,” I breathed out.“No, hear me out first,” GD interrupted. “I know what you're thinking. You think that I'm better off with someone else who can live a full life with me, who can grow old with me. But I never once in my life felt this happy when I'm living everyday with you. And you may think it's wrong, but God does it feel so right for me. I need to know that you're mine and that no one else can take you away from me, Neira, so please just say -”“Yes,” I said.GD stopped and stared back at me as though he couldn't believe what I was saying.“Yes! Yes! Yes!” I gushed as I flung my arms around him. “I thought you'd never ask.”He hugged me back, his arms wrapping around me as he pulled me closer. When we pulled away he slid the ring onto my finger. “It makes me so happy seeing that on you,” he softly said.
