“What are you doing here?” Hyosung asked. “You need to leave.”“I got bored,” Kikwang shrugged. He took a step closer just to have Hyosung block the entrance to her apartment. He smirked and shook his head.“I’m serious,” Hyosung snapped. “You may have bought me, but this is my house, and you don’t have the right to come in here unannounced.”“I’m announcing my arrival right now,” he replied smugly. “Can I at least have a drink or something? I’ll be on my way out once I get it.”Hyosung narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms. She had no idea what this guy was up to, and yet she was curious as to what this all had to do with her.“One drink,” she said, “and then you’re out of here. Got it?”Kikwang grinned as he followed Hyosung into the kitchen.“You have a nice place. It’s really homey,” he said. Reaching for a picture, he added, “Is this you and you’re family?”Hyosung paused with the empty glass in her hand. “Water or juice?” she asked, clearly avoiding the question.“Sensitive to that topic, huh?” he sighed. “Did they try to make your future for you? That’s what my parents do to me all the time. Kind of makes me want to live by myself.”Hyosung placed the glass back onto the kitchen counter.  She looked up and mumbled, “They left me when I was ten.”“So you-”“Water or juice?” Hyosung repeated, irritation filling her voice.“Water is good,” Kikwang muttered. Hyosung nodded and filled the glass up. Kikwang watched her every move and sighed. Coming from such a fortunate family, he never understood how people without parents felt. In fact, he sometimes saw them as lucky, being able to live freely on their own.Hyosung brought the water over to Kikwang and set it down on the coffee table. She folded her arms again and stood before him.Kikwang raised his brow and said, “You’re not going to sit?”“You said you’d leave once you got your drink. So hurry up,” she replied.“I’m sorry for the comment I made about your family,” he said. “Just let me stay here for a little while - please.”This was the thing about Kikwang that annoyed her, yet intrigued her so much. There some things about him that seemed so obnoxious, but within a tiny moment he could seem somewhat sensitive and – dare she thinks – caring. But she wasn’t buying into it just yet.“You’re not sorry,” she snorted, turning around to walk back to the kitchen. Kikwang gulped down the last few drops of his water and followed her to the kitchen.“Oh, but I am,” he said a little too confidently. He continued walking towards her, and upon reaching within inches of her, he set the glass down beside her on the counter.“You’re done al-”Hyosung turned around to find herself centimetres from Kikwang’s face. A small smirk formed on his face as his eyes travelled down to her lips.Hyosung rolled her eyes and pushed against Kikwang’s shoulders.“Are you done?” she snapped. “If you are, you can go now.”“Do you like spiting me?” he retorted.  “This attitude doesn’t look pretty on most girls, you know.”Hyosung pushed him further and sighed, “I’m not trying to spite you, Kikwang. I just want to avoid all the drama that goes along with you being around me. I’ve had enough drama in my past to last a lifetime.”As Kikwang’s eyes followed her, he noticed the diverting of her attention towards the picture of her and her family.“Do you miss them?” he asked.Hyosung shook her head as if she were leaving a bad dream, “W-What?”“Your family,” he replied, “Do you miss them?”“I don’t think that’s any of your business,” she muttered. “It’s getting late. I need to get some sleep.”Kikwang nodded and headed for the door. She wondered why her suddenly left with such ease. Maybe it was because he was getting bored of her, or maybe he knew he won the emotional fight that night. After all, she was the one who felt like breaking down. Either way, she was glad to be left alone for the night. Before leaving, Kikwang turned around once more and looked at her intently.“I'm just wondering,” he began, “if you don’t need all the drama and heartache of losing your family, why do you leave that picture there to haunt you all the time?”Hyosung paused for a moment then mumbled, “Goodnight, Kikwang.”Without a word, Kikwang left. Hyosung stood frozen in the middle of her apartment as she stared at the picture on the desk. She cursed herself and tried to control her watery eyes before heading to her room to sleep. The next morning, Hyosung rushed to put on a white shirt and skinny jeans before heading off to work. As she turned the corner, she crashed into Doojoon.“Ah...” she winced. “Sorry, sir.”“Sir?” Doojoon chuckled. “Well, you should be sorry for bumping into me. You won’t be getting any profit from the Nutcracker bar I was going to buy.”Hyosung looked up as she rubbed her forehead. Upon noticing Doojoon laughing at her, she blushed and hit him playfully, saying, “Yah! I thought you were some stuck-up businessman!”He looked down at his own outfit; he wore a tall black suit and shiny, un-scuffed shoes, with his hair neatly parted to the side.“I’ll take that as a compliment,” he smiled. “I just came from a business conference.”“Again?” she asked. “Aren’t you supposed to be like twenty or something?”“Yes,” he laughed. “But my parents seem to like treating me like I’m a middle-aged man. I guess they wanted to skip over the reckless college years.”“I guess that makes two of us,” she chuckled. “My parents kind of skipped over my teenage years too.”Doojoon saw the uneasy look in her eyes and frowned.“Are you okay?” he asked.Hyosung nodded and forced a smile, “Yeah, of course.” She looked at him with assurance and continued walking to the convenience store.“Good morning,” she said, upon entering the store.Jongmin waved at the back as he dozed off again, and Kikwang looked at her with a tired smile.“You seem much happier than yesterday,” he pointed out, lifting his head from the counter. Before saying anything else, he noticed Doojoon walking up behind her and his expressions immediately turned sour.“Hey,” Doojoon greeted.“Why are you back here?” Kikwang sneered. “Didn’t you get the memo when Hyosung didn’t call you last night?”“You’re the one who took the number away from me,” Hyosung murmured. “Asshole.”Doojoon controlled the laugh that was dying to escape from his mouth and faced Kikwang again.“Well I didn’t get to check my messages from last night due to my busy schedule, so I wouldn’t have gotten to talking to her anyways,” Doojoon explained. “Sorry, Hyosung.”“That’s totally fine,” she replied, shooting a sly smile at Kikwang.“So anyways, I’ll have one Nutcracker bar, please,” Doojoon said, looking at Kikwang.Kikwang rolled his eyes at Hyosung, “Yah, Hyosung, you have eyes, and you have hands. You go get it.”“But it’s right in front of you,” she retorted.“I’d like to point out the barcode on your hand,” he smirked, pointing at Hyosung’s tattoo.“You’re so obnoxious,” Hyosung hissed as she took a chocolate bar from the shelf. She handed the chocolate to Doojoon and slid into her chair.

“How much do I owe you?” Doojoon asked.“Don’t worry about it,” Hyosung smiled, “I’ll cover it as compensation for Kikwang’s stupid behaviour.”“Yah!” Kikwang snapped.Doojoon chuckled and shook his head, “Well, I’ll tell you what – How about I make up for this free chocolate bar with a dinner?”“Wow, she was offering a kind gesture and now you have to top it with a bigger gift?” Kikwang snorted.Hyosung glared at Kikwang, then looked back at Doojoon, “Well I mean I don’t usually like it when people treat me to fancy places. I’m not big on spending a lot of money on just anything.”“We won’t go anywhere big, I promise,” Doojoon smiled. “So what do you say?”“I say...” Hyosung looked at Kikwang, who was shaking his head furiously. She smirked before answering, “Yes.”Kikwang slammed his hands on the table and said, “I forbid you!”“You forbid me?” Hyosung said.“You forbid her?” Doojoon laughed. “Dude, come on. I know you supposedly own her and everything, but really? You forbid her?”“What I mean to say is...” Kikwang mumbled, “...fine.”_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________No one reads this anymore, right?
