My Head (1/1)

I couldn’t get my head in the game, my mind was too preoccupied with Junhyung, and the fact that he was here, at the resort, with me. I was at the beach volleyball court right now, my team was playing opposite Joon’s team. People were cheering on Joon and I, we were somehow nabbed as the ‘lovebirds’ by our dads’ co-workers, and don’t make me start telling from where the title came from. Jihye really needed to control that mouth of hers! So it was Joon’s turn to serve the ball. He was looking at me with a slight smirk.“Is Joon going to give the ball to Hani? Ahh... that is so lovely! The lovebirds... Aww..!”I heard one of my father’s female colleagues cooed. I couldn’t help but to blush, and that ignited another commotion of “Aww..!” “I’m going to serve now!”Joon levelled the ball at his chest, and with a gentle throw, he hit the ball my way. I was pushing myself to concentrate on the game, but before I could lock my eyes on the incoming ball, I saw a glimpse of Beast playing at the beach, not that far from us, straight behind Joon. And I saw Junhyung, he was just standing there, at the tip of the waves, looking afar.Did he feel bothered with the fact that I was here, too? “Hani! Watch out!”And the ball hit me on my head, right on the spot and hard. I fell down, and I could see some ducks flying, circling my head.Eh, ducks?“Oh my, are you okay dear?”The game was put on halt, and people were surrounding me, with my dad trying to help me up. Joon was fast holding my hands, worried clearly shown in his eyes.“Oh my god! I am so sorry, Hani!” They got me up on my two feet, and a lot of hands were helping me brushed off the sands sticking on me, head to toe. My head was throbbing with pain, but my eyes were trying to look passed through the heap of people surrounding me. I was trying to look at Junhyung.“Hani?”My dad pulled my face to look at him, and I felt somewhat guilty for making him worried for not uttering any word at all. Joon was still holding my hand, apologising nonstop.“I’m okay, Dad. I am okay, everyone! And it’s not your fault, Joon. I’m the one that failed to catch the ball. Aigoo... I’m so hopeless when it came to games, ain’t I? Heeheehee!”I let out some giggles, and I could hear the crowd sigh in relieve, and Joon loosen his grip on my hand. “Are you sure?”My dad was not convinced with my amateur acting, but I gave him the biggest smile I knew he couldn’t resist, as lively as I could.“Yes dad. Jeez, I’m a big girl, you know. I can handle a hit or two!”I had the crowd laughing with me.“Okay then, but you are going to sit this game out, Hani. We’ll continue the game with someone else. Go sit with your mom.”“Yes dad...”I made a cute pout, trying to make my dad felt better. He finally cracked a smile, and he pushed me towards my mom, not forgetting to give a pat on my head.“Dad! Not the head! Ouch!” I playfully faked a pain, and before my dad could really hit me, I ran to my mom, starting another fit of laughter.“Aish! That girl! She’s a handful, Joon.”Joon was taken aback with my dad’s remark, but he was obviously happy with it, he had a big smile on his face.“Don’t worry, Mr. Lee. I’m up for it!”And there went another round of “Aww..!” I sat by my mom, trying to hide my again blushing face. I gave a glance at Joon, shouted “Fighting!” for my team, and they soon resumed the game. The game was exciting and hilarious, but the thought of Junhyung still lingered in my mind. I was too curious of what he was doing, and of what he was thinking, and I felt so guilty for feeling like that when I knew I had Joon right in front of me right now. I however did steal a quick peek at where Junhyung and his friends were. I didn’t expect to see them there anymore, I thought they had already left to somewhere else, but much to my surprise, I met eyes to eyes with Junhyung. And he didn’t shift his eyes away from me this time.
