If you were close enough, you could hear them crash and hiss until they roll away and pop. The water was warm from the August heat. School would be starting soon so a few students roamed along the shore or stores close by. To the left side of the beach there stood a hill of rocks. One false move and you would either fall in the water and drown or die from injuries. No one was brave enough to venture to these rocks except for Yunho.

He was your normal rich, popular, high school student. He had two best friends and everything else was an inconvenience. Yoochun had known Yunho since childhood. They grew up together in the upscale parts of Jeju. Yunho was originally born in Gwangju. Yoochun was born in Seoul. While Yunho’s family enjoyed the city, Yoochun’s family preferred somewhere quieter and not so busy.

They were both around the same age. They went to school together in Seoul and moved to Jeju together. Yoochun’s family had last minute ties so they let the Jung’s take their son with them to Jeju until they came down. When the boys were in their fourth year of elementary school, Changmin came along. He was older than them and they secretly admired the boy. Until this day they still know little about their friend who had lived in Jeju most of his life. That was fine though.

Yunho sat on the rocks in his usual spot. Ocean water misted the air around him. The smell of sand and salt water tickled his nostrils. The sun shone bright but he wasn’t worried. He tanned rather easily. Yoochun climbed up the rock warily. He didn’t like to do it but he didn’t want to be left with Changmin by himself.  Changmin complained from the side.

“Guys! Don’t leave me here by myself!” He shouted at them but they ignored him.

As long as they didn’t give in he would follow suit and join them. He cursed and climbed wobbly before collapsing behind Yunho and Yoochun. He was afraid of the water. The others knew that but they insisted that he get over his fear. Changmin got onto his knees shakily and tried to spread the blanket out. He almost tumbled over, grabbing onto Yoochun. Yoochun toppled over, head hanging over the edge of the rocks.

Waves smacked into the rocks making a crunching noise. Yoochun blinked and groaned at the weight on his back. Changmin clung to him in fear of letting go. Yunho grabbed onto his older friend and pulled him up. He sighed and let the boy cling to him as he laid out the blanket. Yoochun stuck his fingers in the water and pulled them up to see little droplets fall from his fingers. Light reflected off the droplets and created little rivulets on t
