Chapter 2 (1/1)
UPDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE! Enjoy! ^^Family Kang’s house at 01:23PMJunjin and Andy arrived at the big mansion that day. They wanted to see whether Mrs. Kang was able to tell them something about the man who had captured her. Junjin often interrogated their victims because Andy got angry so easily.“Remember Andy, don’t get upset too quickly. The last thing we want to do is upset her and her family.” Junjin ordered.Andy nodded and took his badge out of his jacket pocket. They rang the doorbell and a maid opened it quietly.“Yes?” she greeted.“Yes, hi. I am Park Junjin and this is my partner Lee Andy, we are from Seoul police department. We’d like to ask some questions from your mistress.” Junjin explained. The maid stood still for a minute until the householder came in front of the two men. He looked old compared to his wife who was over her twenties. The man stared at them and asked, “Who are you and what are you doing here?”Andy showed his badge and answered, “We are from the Seoul police department, detectives Park and Lee. We are here to meet your wife.”Mr. Kang looked at them interrogatively and somewhat carefully before letting them inside.“My wife already answered some questions.” The man sighed. He seemed exhausted.Junjin bowed his head understanding and they followed the householder to the living room where were his wife and child. Mrs. Kang was sitting on the couch and she seemed kind of off. Her own child couldn’t even wake her from her thoughts. Andy looked at his slightly older partner bemused and Junjin nodded.“Excuse me, Mrs. Kang?” older detective questioned. The woman turned her gaze to the men and blinked her eyes. She definitely didn’t look like a model anymore. The look on her eyes was empty.“We are here to help you.” Junjin explained and she nodded heavily. “We’d like to know about the kidnapping accident that happened five days ago.” He spoke.Mrs. Kang smiled brokenly. Andy stood behind Junjin and he was taking notes. The child played happily on the floor and tried to take his mom’s attention. She was like a statue who on and off sipped her tea. Mr. Kang sat next to her and took her hand into his. She cringed a bit and Junjin took a note of it. “We already told everyone that she doesn’t remember. Ever since she returned home, she has been like a crazy person. She hasn’t been talking or smiling or laughing. Look, she doesn’t even notice her own son.” The man cried.Junjin nodded understanding. “We are trying to help your wife. Is there something she’s told you?” he asked.Andy kept writing and writing. He was eyeing his surroundings trying to find something abnormal but the mansion looked clean.“No, she hasn’t. She’s been like a statue.” Mr. Kang whispered. “I don’t understand it. She was all smiles when she got free but then she changed.”Junjin glared at Andy who smiled and wrote last things to his notepad. “Okay, Mr. Kang. If she speaks about the man, call us. We’ll be here immediately.” He said and gave him a card.Junjin got up from the couch and went next to Andy. They bowed as a goodbyes and walked to the door and then to their car.“Well, that was unusable.” Andy sighed and hit his head against his steering wheel.“Not actually. Did you see how she startled when her husband touched her?” Junjin commented and Andy shook his head.“There is something he didn’t tell us. Maybe Mrs. Kang remembers something, like how the kidnapper touched her.” Older man explained.Andy nodded interrogatively.“Well, we need to find out.” He spilled out and turned the key. An hour later in our kidnapper’s place:Eric tapped his coffee table and lied, lazily, on his couch. In an hour, Dongwan would come into his place and talk about his love life with the Minwoo guy (who Eric thought was just Dongwan’s imagination) and maybe tell him good news about whether he had found a date or not. Dongwan was pretty good at things like that.“Geez…” Eric murmured and took his phone. No calls. He sighed madly.Dongwan was trustworthy though. He never let Eric down with his gossips and wittiness. Dongwan was the reason Eric always stroke on interesting people (not that Dongwan knew about it). And the fact that he was gay didn’t even bother him. Eric had laughed when he had heard it for the first time. He hadn’t been surprised.“That fool.” Eric mocked his friend. “I wonder if the Minwoo guy is good for him.” He spoke when his doorbell rang.He jumped of the couch and ran to the door. From the monitor he could see Dongwan holding some box and he was smiling so widely that his eye wrinkles were seen. Eric chuckled when he opened the heavy door.“Wannie~!” he shouted and hugged his friend who was surprised.“Ricky~!” he answered.Eric released Dongwan from his bear hug and noticed the box. It seemed to be food. Eric’s stomach growled as a sign of hunger.“Woah! I’ve never heard those kinds of sounds before!” Dongwan laughed.“I’ve been really hungry but…I didn’t have food so…thanks.” Eric spoke and ravenously took the box from Dongwan’s hands.Dongwan sighed and entered the apartment when Eric let him finally in.“How’s that guy of yours? Minwoo was it?” older man asked mouth filled with the chicken.Dongwan grinned foolishly and again those beautiful wrinkles appeared on his eyes. “Yes, Minwoo –ssi. He is fine. I love him more and more every day.”Eric hummed something when he walked to the kitchen and grabbed a beer from his fridge. Dongwan sat neatly to the arm chair and waited for his friend. Eric came sluggishly next to him on his wide couch and drank the alcohol drink.“I hope he’s good for you. If he ever hurts you, call me and I will go and kill him.” Eric gritted his teeth.Dongwan laughed. “Scary.”“Minwoo is not that kind of man. He is really, really good. I heard that he always prepares breakfast for his roommate. Now, I think that’s lovable.” Dongwan stated.“Really? Sounds awesome! When are you going to let me meet him? I already think that he is just your imagination.” Eric responded dejectedly. Dongwan pouted and grabbed his phone. He eyed it couple of minutes when he showed something to his older friend. “Here…”Eric took the phone and noticed a picture where, apparently, was this guy called Minwoo. He looked handsome and short. His hair was short from the sides but long from the top and his hair color was reddish brown. Dongwan smiled cutely and anticipated Eric’s comment.“Well, at least his real.” Older man said funnily.Dongwan crossed his arms. “You’re going to like him when and if you meet him.” He mumbled.Eric smiled to the picture though. In it Minwoo and Dongwan cuddled next to each other and showed a victory sign. The whole time Dongwan looked at the camera, but Minwoo just lovingly stared at his Wannie.“He seems really gorgeous. And the way he looks at you…Wannie, you found your one true match.” Eric spilled out. “I want to find mine too!” he added.Dongwan patted his friend’s shoulder. “And you’re going to. I found you a date.” He eagerly clapped his hands.Eric lifted his smiling eyes to his best friend and almost jumped to hug and kiss him. “She is the niece of my cousin’s uncle.” Dongwan explained.Eric clapped his hands like a retard and once again hugged Dongwan forcibly. “And she is a kindergarten teacher. She may sound poor but that’s just your delusion. She is actually pretty wealthy.” Dongwan explained vigorously.Eric nodded.“She likes music, movies and long walks at the beach.” Younger man said. “Oh, and she saw your picture and wants to see you…tomorrow!” he added.Eric gulped. “So soon?” he asked.“Aha…and I want you to be nice to her. She is my cousin’s uncle’s niece. I don’t want my relatives to badmouth me.” Dongwan threatened.“I’m nervous.” Eric spoke truthfully. “What am I supposed to do tomorrow!? I have nothing in mind!” he continued.Dongwan patted him on his back. “That’s why friends are for.” He smiled. At the university of Minwoo and Hyesung“My Wannie is trying to get a girl for his best friend.” Minwoo spoke eyes closed and hands neatly inside his pockets. The winter day was really cold and the streets were icy. Children were happy that it was finally snowy and they could do snowmen and throw snowballs but Hyesung wasn’t in the mood of enjoying that.“Why don’t you ever do that to me?” he questioned upset.Minwoo raised his eyebrows and watched out the path they were on. “Do what?” he asked.Hyesung rolled his eyes. “Get me a date. I’m seriously frustrated. I have needs.”Minwoo chuckled and patted his friend on his shoulder. Hyesung almost slipped due the slippery ground. “Because you are so complicated. It’s hard to find you someone you like.” Minwoo responded. His arms fell on his sides.“Ah, cold!” he said cutely and pushed his hands into his pockets again. Hyesung sighed. “Am I really that difficult? Please, Minwoo. You are my only friend. HELP!”Shorter guy halted his steps. “I don’t know.” He said. “I promise Minwoo. I can go on a date with any kind of man.” Hyesung almost kneeled in front of him to beg. Minwoo nodded. “Fine! But you have to promise that you really enjoy the date. I don’t want to hear your whining again.” He stated.Hyesung stood straight like a soldier and lifted his hand on his forehead. “I promise!”Minwoo stroke his cheek and laughed. “Aish…what did you get me into!” he then snapped before leaving from the university yard. Police department somewhere in Seoul:It had been a week since the mystical pervy kidnapper stroke last time and Junjin was in the middle of doing another investigation. It was the rule. Junjin never gave up with the other case though. It bothered him so badly. They had saved almost 12 cards that had “Shinhwa Changjo” written on them and none of them had fingerprints. Junjin and his co-workers, including Andy, really spent nights in the department just to find out something useful from the little cards.“This is stupid.” Some said and leaned back on his chair. “I searched `Shinhwa Changjo` from the internet, but nothing.” Other spoke. Junjin threw the card sluggishly to the desk and hid his face into his hands. Andy breathed in and out devastatingly.“Are you sure that Mrs. Kang remembers something?” younger man, suddenly, asked. Junjin lifted his head from his hands and nodded. “She may look like a statue but her eyes told more. But the thing is that we can’t go there anymore. Her husband won’t let us talk to her.” He answered.Andy bowed his head and took the card from Junjin’s desk. Fascinating thing in the card was that it wasn’t handmade. It was even harder to get any kind of help from it.“So you are saying that she looks off from the outside but on the inside she is well alert?” Andy questioned.“Correct.” Older detective replied. “We need to meet Mrs. Kang when her husband isn’t there.” Junjin spoke more to himself than to the others. He crossed his arms on his chest and looked contemplative. Andy knew that when Junjin looked like that no one had the rights to disturb him. He had once bothered him and Junjin had actually shouted at him for ruining his thoughts. It was after the first day Andy had become his partner. Andy still remembered that particular day. That day he had met the most handsome and the best police officer in the world.Junjin got up from his seat and started to walk back and forth in the room. Other hand was under his chin and other one held the other hand up. Andy followed him with his eyes. The cards were still on the desk.“Hey, Andy!” Junjin yelled and his partner got shocked.“What?” he asked.Junjin looked at him with his deep brown eyes and Andy stared at him back. “Isn’t there some kind of happening in the States week from now?” Junjin responded with another question.Andy nodded. “Yeah, there is. Something to do with charity and children.” He answered.“And Mr. Kang is going there.” Junjin whispered. “Excuse me?” Andy asked.“I saw an invitation when we left from the house. How on earth didn’t I get it!?” Junjin cursed. “That’s it! When he leaves to the States, we will interrogate his wife.” He continued.Andy was dumbfounded but glad. Junjin had a plan. Later in Minwoo’s and Hyesung’s apartment:Minwoo was sitting on his couch and he was watching some variety show from the TV. Hyesung had been inside his room some time already because he was getting ready to his date. Minwoo had encouraged him to show him what he was going to wear but Hyesung had been deadly against it. So stubborn, thought Minwoo. Finally (after two hours) Hyesung came out of his room in black jeans, white t-shirt and beige cardigan. Minwoo turned his gaze to him and lifted his thumb finger in the air.“Wonderful.” He praised. Hyesung blushed and took his keys from the desk. “Are you really sure that you aren’t bored while I’m away?” he questioned and grinned jokingly.Minwoo palmed his face dramatically and bemoaned something but smiled widely after it. “Dongwan is coming here and we’re going to eat pizza. No need to worry. He will amuse me.” He commented.Hyesung nodded and shoved his tongue out. “Don’t you dare ruin our couch.” He said.“We won’t. Hyesungie, break a leg.” Minwoo wished.Hyesung breathed in nervously and opened the door. Minwoo waved his hand one last time and then his friend was gone. 15 minutes later someone rang Minwoo’s doorbell. He got up lazily and wobbly walked to the door. He pressed the button in the monitor and immediately his face got brighter.“WANNIE!” he shouted when he opened the door. His boyfriend jumped on his neck and kissed him briefly. “I brought pepperoni and Hawaiian pizzas.” Dongwan explained and held the boxes in his hands.Minwoo took them from him and let him in. “Where’s Hyesung?” Dongwan questioned. “He’s on a date.” Minwoo answered. “Oh…” his boyfriend hummed silently. “What? We can’t have fun without Hyesung?” Minwoo asked seriously but then Dongwan shoved his tongue out and laughed. “Of course we can. Let’s sit to the couch, I’m hungry.” He spoke.Minwoo ran to his kitchen to get equipment to eat. When he came back Dongwan had already spread pizzas on the table. “Hyesung went on a date? With whom?” he questioned.Minwoo landed the beers and equipment next to the pizzas, collapsed next to Dongwan and took one slice from the box. “With a friend of mine. Didn’t you find a date for your friend too?” Minwoo commented.Dongwan nodded.“Eric was super happy. He is meeting her right now.” He explained. “Eric was really nervous about his date so I suggested our restaurant to him.” Dongwan added.Minwoo’s eyes widened. “No way! Hyesung is meeting his date there too!”“In the restaurant ´La Fountain´” They said in unison. In Junjin’s apartment:Junjin never considered himself as a workaholic but it wasn’t entirely true. As soon as he had arrived home, he undressed his leather jacket, landed it on his wooden chair and took out the file he had “stolen” from his office. He spread all the pictures of the victims on his desk and scrutinized them accurately. After an hour of investigating his current case, he stretched his arms and went to his kitchen. He cooked some coffee and was about to take out a cup when someone knocked his door forcibly. Junjin eyed his watch and groaned, “Who the hell is it?”He walked towards the door, dragging his heavy legs behind him. When he opened the surprisingly heavy door, serious Andy faced him. Junjin had never seen him like that.“What are you doing here?” Junjin asked bemused.Andy rubbed his neck. “Can I sleep here for tonight?” he stroke with a counter question. Older man hesitatingly looked at his partner. “Please...” Andy begged quietly.Junjin knew how much Andy hated begging so he let him in. “Do you have problems at home?” Older man questioned.Andy sighed sadly. “My dad came home and he was drunk, again, and as always, he started to shout at me about my job choice. I just couldn’t take it anymore. I had to leave and you are the only one I know in this city.” His eyes were teary. Junjin was caused with remorse after asking Andy. His life was little difficult right now and Junjin felt sorry. Of course he was happy after hearing that he was only one he knew but seeing Andy sad was terrible.“Please, Junjin. I trust you.” Andy begged and this time tears drained from his eyes.Junjin didn’t think twice when he, instinctively, lifted his finger and wiped of the tears. Andy startled a little after feeling his touch on his face but enjoyed it as long as it lasted. When Junjin drew aback, he realized what he had done but didn’t apologize.“Of course you can sleep here. It’s not like it’s your first time.” Junjin finally spoke.Andy breathed out relieved and blushed after hearing Junjin. “Ever since my mom died, he’s become a burden to me.” Andy explained. “I understand him though.” He added.Junjin stared at Andy. He seldom saw him that serious and sad. “Hey, don’t worry! That’s why you have me! You’re never burden to me.” Junjin pleaded and patted Andy on his back.“Thanks Jinnie. You seriously are my best friend.” Younger man expressed and gave a hug to him.Junjin cringed but hugged back.“What the hell are those!?” Andy suddenly yelled. Junjin held his ears and embarrassed bowed his head. “It’s…work.” He answered.Andy crossed his arms on his chest and glared at Junjin. “You work after you’d gone home?”Junjin nodded. “Aish…I can’t believe you. Isn’t it illegal to steal those files from work?” Andy asked seriously.“I’m sorry Andy. But I needed to take them with me. I can’t sleep because this case annoys me. I want to sleep, you know, but the fucking case keeps bothering my brain.” Junjin snapped. “I want to be like Sherlock Holmes but I can’t. I need evidence!” he added.Andy just stood still, arms still crossed on top of his chest. “Fine, but I’ll help you. If you don’t sleep, I won’t sleep.” He said and sat on the couch.Junjin blinked confused but eventually joined Andy. Inside the restaurant ´La fountain´:“I’m a CEO.” Eric explained to the woman in front of him. He was little confused though since he had thought that Dongwan had told her about his work. “That’s cool.” She commented.Dongwan had found Eric a perfect date. She was funny, beautiful and not annoying. “Dongwan didn’t lie when he said that you are funny.” Eric complemented her.Yun Ah, as the girl was called, smiled shyly and covered her mouth with her hand.“Oh, thank you, Eric-ssi.” She bowed. “He didn’t tell me anything about you but showed me your picture.” She said.Eric grinned and took a sip of his wine. Dating wasn’t fun though. Eric didn’t like how he was supposed to wait other one’s call anxiously and then talk about things to make the other one feel nice. He seriously disliked all that hard work.“How long have you known Dongwan?” Yun Ah asked interested.Eric counted the years inside his head. “Umm…about 7 years.” He responded with a smile. “That’s long.” She said.“Dongwan’s really nice.” She then continued. Eric grinned. “He isn’t my best friend for nothing.” He commented. When their food came, the silence started. Neither one of them, apparently, liked talking during eating so they just didn’t talk. When Eric was drinking his water, he saw someone at the door. It was someone who he didn’t know at all, but looked absolutely stunning (and well-known) in his black jeans, white t-shirt and beige cardigan. Eric almost chocked to his water.Yun Ah was so into her eating that she didn’t notice Eric’s weird stare towards someone. Eric was frozen. How could a man be that beautiful? He thought amazed.“You must be Shin Hyesung.” Someone spoke and Eric followed them with his eyes. Eric realized that he knew the pretty looking man.
