Prologue (1/1)

A/N: Hello everyone ! I did a Twitter poll a little while ago asking if people wanted a prologue for this and I got my answer! Here's a little something for you guys to chew on while I finish writing the rest of this fic.So far, I'm nowhere near where I want the fic to be...though I've finished the majority of the first part of it. It's just a matter of filling in the middle of the story, then getting the fic to a satisfying ending. This was originally supposed to be a oneshot, but I wanna gather all of your initial reactions to it, so here we are! Enjoy this short little intro!           There’s a dull ringing in Joohyun’s ears, blocking out the sound of the ambulance and police automobiles surrounding the car she’s trapped inside of.        Red and blue and yellow lights are flashing everywhere at once, and there’s something hot and sticky sliding down the side of her face. When Joohyun comes to slowly, she finds that her body is flush against the side of her car door. The most the injured woman could deduce was that their car was resting on its side.        “Seulgi,” The woman croaks, her voice harsh and raw.        Joohyun’s vision is hazy, fogging over in the thick, black tendrils of smoke swirling around her. She finds it difficult to breathe or move, the dark surroundings around her are spinning, though their car had long since stopped flipping over.        Her muscles scream in protest as she struggled to free herself from her seat, but the pain doesn’t deter her the slightest. She ignored the waves of agony crashing over her. Joohyun needed to reach her girlfriend, needed to know if the other woman was okay, if she were still alive.        “Seulgi?”        Joohyun unbuckled her seatbelt weakly, throwing the flimsy material over her shoulder as she began searching for the younger woman in vain. The first shuffle she attempted to make caused even more stinging pain ricochet throughout her tiny figure, but Joohyun merely waited the overwhelming sensation out before making another movement.        Someone grabbed at her shoulder from outside the bent frame of the door, stopping her in her tracks. She froze, crouched on her hands and knees, at the sensation of fingernails digging through the fabric of her torn shirt. The person began to speak to her, but the sound of their voice was distorted to her ears.        The ringing echoing inside of her ears overwhelmed every other sound with its sharpness, making it even difficult to understand anything the person was saying. Joohyun merely heard gibberish, and though her head was light yet heavy at the same time, the only thing she could think about was Seulgi.          She had to find Seulgi.         She could hardly see or hear anything, yet she was convinced that she would find her girlfriend regardless.         “Where is she?” Joohyun murmured shakily to herself, feebly shrugging off the hand that held her back from crawling further into the depths of the wreckage.         Everything was swirling slowly, the world turning on its axis over and over again. The driver’s seat was empty, she’d ran a hand over the cushion with a frown on her face, then she turned towards the belly of the vehicle slowly.        “She has to be here,” Joohyun stammered, delving further into the depths of the debris.        There was shattered glass littering the pavement beneath her, glittering with the different colors of the lights blinking around them. They almost looked like tiny diamonds, with their raw, jagged edges. As she crawled, they scraped at her skin. Still, she kept on.        The further Joohyun went on, the more she began to come to her senses, shaking off the odd ringing and the swirling of flashing colors. She had collapsed against one of the backseat cushions when she noticed the sheer amount of blood spilled around her.         Too much blood to have been a small injury.         Joohyun hadn’t been sure what the liquid was at first, hadn’t even been certain of what had happened, but the sweeping lights of the police cars gave her enough of an idea. She and Seulgi must have been in a terrible, terrible accident.        Joohyun’s adrenaline was beginning to kick in, and the desperation in her voice was evident a
