Let Me. (1/1)
“Get off him, H!” Jungkook yelled, pushing the taller away.“You get off me!” H countered, brushing his sleeves as if Jungkook had tainted him. With just a slight glare from the shorter male, both the taller ones grunted angrily and walked away.“H-hyung!!! Are you okay?” Jungkook kneeled down to the elder’s side, touching his shoulder.“D-don’t touch me!” Taehyung warned, his voice indicating caution rather than anger.“I-I’m sorry…but are you okay? We need to get you to the hospital. H-hyung-““I’m fine, I’m fine…just, I just need to get back to the café,” he groaned, trying to stand up.“O-okay. I’ll help you up-““I got it,” Taehyung shrugged Jungkook’s touch, keeping a distance between them.“I’m s-sorry…”“It’s fine.”With little effort yet a lot of energy used, they arrived at the café again. Walking inside, Taehyung had covered his face as he walked down the table aisles to get to the staff lounge at the back. Thankfully no one noticed. He passed Namjoon who was at his station by the little live stage on the side of the café quietly as well as docked Yoongi’s sharp eyes thanks to him being occupied in whipping up a few drinks for the customers.Jungkook had eventually followed him to the back of the café and that was when Jimin had taken his toll to stop the boy in his steps. He bumped into the elder but was quick to apologize, not a second later tried to get through him to follow Taehyung. But Jimin wasn’t moving.“Hey. This leads to the staff’s lounge, which means you’re not supposed to go there unless you’re a staff here…and you’re not,” Jimin piped up, standing in the younger’s way.“I-I just need to get to Taehyung hyung…” he whimpered, guilt overwhelming him.“Taehyung ‘hyung’?”“H-he’s hurt…” he whispered.“What do you mean he’s hurt? He’s out for the moment-“Jimin stopped when he heard Taehyung mid-yelled from the lounge. His eyes popped in shock, making him turn around and bursting into the room. He wore a worried expression as soon as he laid his eyes on his friend’s slightly battered face.“What the hell?!” he yelled.“Relax, it’s just a scratch,” Taehyung said calmly, smiling a little.“You can’t bullshit me, asstard. WHAT happened?”“Before you turn into your Satan mode, can you just be my friend and help fix me up? Our gig is in 15 minutes,” Taehyung said quietly, looking up at his friend with his pleading face.“TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED AND MAYBE I’LL FIX YOU,” Jimin gritted his teeth.Taehyung sighed. So he told him everything. “Dude, you know you can’t do that, right? You can’t-““I know…I know but it wasn’t like I could help it. He was about to get into a fight-““A-about that, I’m really s-sorry; I didn’t want to get anyone involved…especially n-not you,” Jungkook said.“It was my choice so you don’t have to be sorry. Jimin’s just-““I’m not worried, I’m mad. You know better,” Jimin grunted.“I do, okay? I do. And you should be mad. If I were you, I would too. It makes me feel…cared for.”“Awww, you’re not sweet-talking me this time, asshole. I still want to lecture you but we have a gig to do. Get in your outfit and I’ll set up the stage. 10 minutes, no more,” said Jimin as he walked out the room. And there was silence. For a second or two, Taehyung sneaked a little look at the younger. He was still standing by the lockers and Taehyung was still in his seat since Jimin had helped patched his wounds up.“Hey,” Taehyung started.“…y-yeah?” Jungkook squeaked, looking up.“You can sit down if you want to. There’s an empty seat here.”“No, it’s f-fine. I’m fine…”Quiet, Taehyung looked at the other and his little movements. He was slightly sweating, hands a little shaking as he played with his shirt hem and eyelids batting unevenly…he was surely not fine.Frustrated, Taehyung stood and walked over to the other. Facing him yet not knowing what he initially wanted to do, Taehyung ended up just standing there; face inches away from Jungkook’s. Taehyung pulled Jungkook’s hand, leading him to the chairs he sat on earlier and pushed the other down; demanding him to sit.“How are you fine when you’re clearly shaking? Just look at your hands.”Jungkook looked at his hands and he saw how his fingers trembled. Though so, he knew he wasn’t even close to being shaken by the earlier incident…but then, what was the cause? He wondered to himself.“What were you doing back there? Getting into a fight? You know you’re not suited in that kind of circle, right?” Taehyung started, walking over to his locker and getting out his gig outfit.“What were you d-doing there? It was none of y-your-“Taehyung stopped midway in changing his clothes and gave the younger his best stink-eye.“-business? Oh it was my business alright. I had wanted to talk to you ever since you got here but you always seemed like you didn’t want- no, like you were hoping for no company so I went out of your way and just did my work. But when I did see you leaving, I wanted to try again; only to find you in a dark alley, facing those…those thugs and getting into a fi-““They’re not t-thugs.”“Yeah, like you would know-““I would,” said Jungkook sternly.A little shocked, Taehyung stopped. He eyed the other and tried to find something unfamiliar within his view; nothing. Jungkook still looked like himself and he was acting the same too. Eyes darting, head a little lowered and fingers trembling. Feeling a little annoyed, Taehyung brushed it away, finishing changing into his outfit; a white dress shirt and a maroon skinny tie. He threw his tie around his neck and he realized something.“You didn’t stutter,” Taehyung whispered suddenly.“I…I- what?”“I said you didn’t stutter. So you knew those two? Who was it again…H and, I don’t know the other one’s name. Oh and they called you…R, right? Who are you, Jungkook? Who are you, really?” Taehyung questioned, walking slowly over to the younger.Flinching, Jungkook lowered his head. All he could do was taste the bile in his stomach when he saw how Taehyung planted his big feet in between his little ones by the chair. He’s so close…Jungkook breathed.Bending lower, Taehyung inspected the younger’s features.“You don’t have any scars…so you can’t be an ex-delinquent or such unless you were their leader. You don’t have any tattoos so I don’t think you’d even be close to that kind of circle…what are you?”Breathing uneven, Jungkook’s hands reached up for the elder’s tie; tugging on both the ends a little with his trembling fingers. Keeping his cool, Taehyung followed the gesture, getting on his knees in between the younger’s legs with his head up.Flustered, Jungkook went along with it and ended up deciding to help the elder with his tie. Slowly, he twisted and turned the tie, avoiding any skin and eye contact; worried it might either annoy the other like he did before or it might crumble himself as eye contact wasn’t really his favourite.Looking up and staring at the younger’s what he’d call delicate face; Taehyung couldn’t help but think of how beautiful he was. He wanted to touch him but he knew better than anyone else that it’d cause him a great deal. But he did it anyway. He touched Jungkook’s cheek and immediately, a rush of adrenaline drowned his head to the max. Flashes of white and hints of movements, he could see it all. Jungkook was dancing and there was music, beautiful music that lulled him…but there was a girl; a girl who danced with him. She was so beautiful yet so sad. She loved Jungkook but Jungkook didn’t feel the same…and that had cost…her life.“TAEHYUNG!” Someone yelled.Blinking rapidly and falling onto floor, Taehyung clutched his head and pounded on his chest like a mad man. Trying to find the right pace of breathing, he felt a trembling hand touched his arm. It was Jungkook. He turned to the younger and was shocked to see his expression.“What’s wrong?! Are you hurt? Can you breathe, Taehyung? Taehyung, can you hear me?” He called out, hands reaching for the other’s face. Not quick enough, he was caught in a trance again. More and more flashes; a funeral…the girl’s funeral. She killed herself, leaving nothing more than a note for Jungkook; asking him to forgive her. The letter was soaked, Jungkook mourned for her-“Taehyung!!! Oh my god, I’ll- I’ll get someone, wait here-““NO! No…you d- you don’t have t-to…I’m alr-right,” he breathed.“You’re on the floor, your breathing is all over the place and you’re sweating and crying at the same time; YOU ARE NOT OKAY!”Crying? I’m crying? Taehyung wondered to himself, still trying his best to calm down. In attempt to stand up, he fell on Jungkook, arms draped across the other’s shoulders. Wrapping his arms around the elder, Jungkook helped him up.Chest to chest, faces inches away from the each other, they breathed. In his mind, Taehyung was sick but in his gut, Jungkook knew that it wasn’t just that. Either way, he had to help him, somehow but time was against them.Jimin came bursting through the door seconds later.“What the hell, bro? I said 5 minutes, not 15. What’re you doing-““He collapsed,” Jungkook deadpanned.“I…I d-didn’t. I was just a little worn out. I’ll b-be fine once I wash my face. Just…j-just stall for me, yeah?” Taehyung whispered weakly.Pushing off the other, Taehyung tried to walk to the washroom with the help of the lockers, leaning against them and taking his steps forward slowly. “Taehyung-““Shut up, I’m fine. I’ll be there in a few. J-jungkook, I’ll deal with you after the gig. You leave and I’ll report you…you’re responsible for this, so stay here.”“…o-okay.” A/n: So my internship for 3 months has started. It's been 5 weeks now and I'm kinda busy.
