[M] Open Arms (1/1)
Chapter Twenty Two – Open Arms“We are here.” Luhan tapped my shoulder and in an instant, I jerked my head in shock. Much to my surprise, I did not realize we had actually arrived at Luhan’s parent’s house. I must have been wondering too much during the destination.Looking out of the tinted window and after seeing how my sister, Nana and her fiancé, Joongki, went to the already waiting Luhan’s mother, Mrs. Lu, after hoping off the card, a sudden wave of goosebumps hit my arms. I had no idea, but the thought of his mother may not like me scare the hell out of me.“You know,” Luhan started, glancing at them as well. “We, uhm, don’t really need to come here if you aren’t ready.”I gave him a wary look. “Why did you say so, Luhan?” My eyebrows knitted together. “If I didn’t want to come here, you would’ve sent me home after we accompanied Joongki and Nana to the boutique.”Luhan did not bother retorting after I said those words. We got out of the car after several minutes later.Mrs. Lu was so overjoyed when she knew we accompanied Joongki and Nana to try out some of the wedding dresses after Luhan formally introduced me to his mother.“That’s a very good idea that you two went with them to the boutique,” her mother told us. “It’d be easy when both of you want to get married later since you’ve had the experience.”Luhan only laughed. “We’re not getting married yet, omma.”“I don’t mind waiting for that moment, Han,” she answered bluntly. “However, before your dad and I passed way, we’d like to see you having a wife.... with kids carting around you.”Her last words gave me a cold shiver down my spine. She was already expecting we would be having kids, though in reality, we had yet to get married.“Omma, you’ve already had grandson from Chen.” Luhan seemed to be reminding his mother who was kind of emotional at the moment.“Your brother’s son isn’t same with yours, Han,” said Mrs. Lu. “You are obviously older than him, but he’s gotten married earlier than you. Don’t you feel embarrassed at all, Han?”He shook his head. “Listen, omma. I will get married soon, but not at this moment. Probably it’ll take some time,” explained Luhan as he looked at me and his mother back and forth. “I’ll promise you when I’ve gotten married with Yoona, we’ll give you a lot of kids! Just tell me how many of them you want and we’ll work hard to achieve it!”I was blushing so hard the moment Luhan said to his mother. I smacked his shoulder, only to cover my immense embarrassment. He seemed really calm and did not really mind of what he had said before. Joongki and Nana, on the other hand, were laughing their asses off.“I’m actually worried, Han...” she said further, sighing heavily. “You travel to a lot of countries... you meet a lot of people and you know, girls would crowd you too...”“Don’t think badly of me, Yoona.” He placed his index finger on my lips, indicating that his mother’s words were not true at all. “Though I may seem like a playboy, I have changed ever since we dated.”I only shrugged him off with a mere snort. I may believe in him, but what about his mother? A mother’s instinct was always right.Only to make her son stop fidgeting, Mrs. Lu added, “I know you aren’t like that, Han... but if you’ve gotten married with Yoona, I’d be at ease.”Her piece of words made a smile tug itself at the corner of my lips. I tilted my head at Luhan’s direction and was still smiling widely. His hope and his mother’s were my hope too. Only time will determine everything.***The day where Luhan was not working and much to my fortunate, the company I was working gave all the employees a day off, he invited me over to his house. I was actually thinking not to go, because you know, things will run very awkward and for the record, I had not been there for once. However, after much contemplation, I said yes and we were not at his house.“Come in, Yoona,” he casually said as I trudged into his house. “Make yourself at home.”“Already am,” I laughed. My laughter abruptly ended when I saw the condition of the living room. My jaw went agape. It was not what I had imagined before coming here. It was not spick and span and was surely dirty and messy. Stack of magazines and book were all over scattered the carpet, a few of dirty clothes on the couch and cans of empty beer and stains of food were evidently seen on the coffee table.“Sorry,” he blurted out, scratching the back of his neck as he hastily cleaned the living room. “Had no time to clean this up.”I actually had no idea what I should do at the moment, but to think that I was only standing frozen, it would be very rude of me.I crouched at the coffee table and grabbed a few tissue papers, only to wipe the dirty stains off. “If you’d known I’d be coming today, you should’ve cleaned everything up, you know.”“It gave me an impression on what kind of person you are,” I added meticulously.“Sorry,” he said that again, thinking he should give me a reason. “I actually meant to clean this up, but I suddenly had a shift to Japan, so yeah... I was busy and ended up forgetting it.”“It’s okay. After all, it’s your home.” I put up a tiny smile across my face.He smirked. “It’d be our home sooner.”“Do you think I’m going to marry you?” I sounded very uncertain, only to irk him. “What if I suddenly met another guy and fell for him?”However, my imagination went shattered because he turned out to be invulnerable. “It won’t happen.”“Why?” I raised an eyebrow.“Because if you’ve met another guy, you will not easily fall for him and I don’t think that guy would ever consider dating you.” Luhan picked up the dirty clothes and boxers (god, couldn’t believe I would see those!). “You’re hard to approach, Yoona. Too hard that I’d once thought to just give up on you.”“Why didn’t you do that, then?”“That’s because I love you so much that I don’t want to lose you,” he said in one breath and hurriedly sneaked into his room.I let out a chuckle and was entertained by his adorable antics. During his absence, I found myself eyeing the living room in interest. The living room was absolutely large with the minimal amount of furniture. It seemed like he loved red and black as every furniture was in red. The couch, coffee table, TV table were in red while carpet and cabinet were in black. Speaking of cabinet, he put every of the ornament, souvenirs from all over countries and pictures frame inside it. Not to mention, our pictures when we were in Malaysia were also in there.“What are you looking at?” his curious voice interrupted the moment and I turned around to him, seeing him come back with a tray of orange juices.I walked towards him and sat on the couch. “Nothing.” I shook my head. “Just was watching your living room and uhm, our pictures. Never thought you’d be this sweet, Luhan.”Luhan laughed and plopped on the couch next to me. “By the way, it’s actually cringe-worthy to have been spot-checked by an interior designer like you, Yoona.” He took my left hand and squeezing mine against his. “I suck at designing my own house.”“You’re good, Luhan,” I remarked honestly. “I mean, it’s normal for guys to have minimal interior design. For the record, I kind of like you use a combination of red and black. The colours fit a lot.”“When you’ve started living here, you’ve got to decorate this house!”I laughed at his joke and rested my head on his shoulder. “I will.”We later savoured the moment by having a detailed and long conversation. It had been a week since we last met; Luhan had to go travel to Japan and Vietnam back and forth. It was really saddening, but since I had lots of work at office, it helped me to contain my feelings for him for a while.“What would you do when you have days off, Luhan?” I asked.“Uhm,” he hummed, biting his lower lip in remembrance. “I’d go out jogging early in the morning, sleep at noon and go out with you after your office hour. And... ah! I’d occasionally drop by Myungsoo’s workshop.”“It’s... uhm, really boring.”“It really is,” he chuckled, looping his arm around my waist. “But when we got married later, this boring lifestyle of mine will change and I won’t be lonely at this house.”“I hope the same too.” My reply was surely muffled, but I knew he heard it.“Yoona...”“Hmm?”“I am ready to marry you,” he voiced out. “Both physically and mentally.”I got up and when I looked into his eyes, our gaze met. Not knowing what I should react, I only gave him a light nod.“You know, uhm, Luhan.” I swallowed the lump in my throat. “We have to wait until-”“I know,” he cut me off and sighed. “I hope time will fly by fast. I’m sick of waiting.”“I am sick as well, but what can we do?” I heaved a low sigh. “We just need to stay patient and-”I did not expect him to kiss me so passionately that he grabbed my waist so tightly that I was feeling suffocated. Still, I did not push him away. I wante
