SUHO: Chapter 6 (1/1)
*This chapter is a tad bit more "mature" than the others and I'm just going to warn you that I literally suck at writing that type of material XDDD But hope you enjoy!* The next morning, I wake up even earlier than I usually do for work. I’m excited at the thought of going to the beach; it’s been a while for me too since I’ve been anywhere near the sea. I put on a simple, white dress and throw on a denim jacket. I then pull my hair back into a high ponytail before putting on some makeup. After I’m done, I grab the bag I took yesterday and walk into the living room. “You’re up early,” I hear Mr. Kim’s voice in the kitchen. When I make my way towards the kitchen, I see him in a plain, white shirt and blue flannel, along with dark jeans. “We’re matching,” I notice. Mr. Kim takes a look at me and then down at himself before smiling, “See? We’re meant to be.” I smile back at him and take a seat at the dining table as he sets a plate of toast sandwiches in front of me. “Did you make these?” I ask. “Then who else? Try it,” he grins as he opens the fridge and pulls out two cartons of milk. He hands me one as he sits across from me. I thank him and bite into a sandwich. Why is this man good at even making toast sandwiches? My goodness. Mr. Kim bites into his own sandwich and it’s only a matter of minutes before we finish our breakfast and head on out to catch the bus. We get on the bus and take a seat near the front. Despite the early time, there’s a lot of people. Mr. Kim allows me to have the seat by the window and I can’t help but yawn nonstop as I look outside the moving bus. “You sleepy?” Mr. Kim asks as he places a hand on mine. “A little,” I admit. Mr. Kim chuckles and places my head on his shoulder. “Why don’t you sleep a little? I’ll wake you up when we get there,” he strokes my hair. I feel a little flushed but soon nod as my eyes close. It seems like only minutes have passed when I hear Mr. Kim’s voice. “Baby, wake up. We’re here.” I slowly open my eyes and look out the window. A vast, blue ocean comes into view and my heart’s already beating fast at the sight of it. Once the bus comes to a complete stop, we thank the bus driver and hop off. “It’s beautiful!” I shout as I run towards the sea. The soft sand tugs at my shoes, and I end up taking them off before running again. The cool wind blows my hair and I don’t hesitate to step into the crashing waves on the shore. The cold water sends a shiver down my back, but I remain standing where the waves can reach me. I close my eyes to feel the air and smell the saltiness of the ocean. Any stress I had is relieved. When I open my eyes, I turn around to look for Mr. Kim. I spot him a few feet away, on the sandy beach. His pants are rolled up and his hands are shoved in his pockets as he watches me. He grins at me and I wave at him before making my way towards him. “Having fun?” he asks as he gets a few strands of hair out of my face. I nod. “Yes! I’m so glad we came here,” I say. I then give him a playful smile before grabbing his arm and running towards the waves again. “Baby, wait. I don’t want to get wet--” Mr. Kim starts to say but it’s too late. He’s now stepping in the cold water alongside me. He sighs in defeat and soon raises an eyebrow at me before reaching down to splash water at me. “Hey!” I squeal, not expecting his attack. I bend down to return the splash to him and he starts to run away. Before I know it, we’re laughing and playing like there’s no tomorrow on this beach. Mr. Kim takes my hands as he continues to run around, avoiding the more deeper waves. I’ve never seen him laugh so much and it’s as pure as a child’s. I smile at him. After a while, we’re exhausted from running around so much that we decide to take a seat on the sandy shore. I look out into the vast sea and feel so much at peace. The steady breeze is so refreshing as well. The seagulls flying in the distance and the blue horizon make up the perfect scenery. “It’s so beautiful,” I say without even realizing. “Yeah, stunning,” is Mr. Kim’s response. I nod and glance at him, only to notice him staring at me. “...” he doesn’t say anything but gazes into my eyes. The wind blows on his hair as the sun shines on his already glowing face. I feel my face growing warm as I clear my throat and look away saying, “I was talking about the sea.” “So was I,” he shrugs as he turns his gaze towards the sea. I look at him half embarrassed and half astonished when he starts to laugh. “Yes, the sea’s beautiful...but not as much as you.” He gives me a sideways glance and winks. “I’m going to find something to eat,” I change the topic and get up from feeling rather warm. I don’t understand as to how Mr. Kim can say such romantic lines without any hesitation. I grab my shoes and begin to shove my feet into them when I feel Mr. Kim’s hands wrap around my ankles. He begins to guide my feet into my flats and I quickly bend down saying, “Oh no, it’s fine. I can do it.” “Hold on, I’m almost done anyway,” he replies. My feet are soon perfectly fitted in my shoes and I hold my breath when I notice how close Mr. Kim’s face is. “When will you stop making me worry? I don’t want you to trip and fall from not putting on your shoes properly,” he says gently. I look into his eyes and almost lose my breath when he smiles. He’s too good looking for his own good. I get up fast after that, mostly so that I can catch my breath. My heart’s beating a bit too fast right now, and Mr. Kim’s not helping when he takes my hand and asks me what I want to eat. By the time we pick our menu, eat, and spend time at a book cafe we spot near the beach, it’s already late afternoon. The sun’s beginning to set and before I know it, I’m walking along the shoreline next to Mr. Kim, underneath a dark sky full of stars. “Did you have fun, baby?” Mr. Kim asks. “The most fun I’ve had in a long time,” I answer. He chuckles as he says, “I’m glad.” We get to a bus stop and decide to take a seat on the bench while we wait for the next bus. When there’s a long moment of silence, I glance at Mr. Kim, who looks rather lost in thought. “You okay?” I ask him. “Yeah,” he answers quietly. He moves his eyes towards the ground and I know he’s lying. I put my hand on his and he looks at me, a bit surprised. I guess he didn’t expect me to be the one to hold his hand first. “What is it?” I force him to look at me. “I don’t know, baby,” he sighs after a moment. He goes on, “I’ve been telling myself that it’s not your fault and that there’s nothing I can do to bring your memory back. But I just can’t help feeling tired of waiting.” “...” I take a minute to process what he said. I wasn’t really aware of the fact that Mr. Kim thought about my lost memory that often. All I can say back is, “I’m sorry, Mr. Kim. I wish I got my memory back too.” “I didn’t say that to make you apologize,” Mr. Kim shakes head. He gives me a weak smile as he looks at me. “But I’m glad you want it back too.” Before I can respond, Mr. Kim squeezes my hand as he looks intently into my eyes. “Just promise me that you’ll tell me as soon as it comes back, okay?” he says and holds out his pinkie on his other hand. I smile as I lock my pinkie with his, “You’re making me make a whole lot of promises.” “Well there’s going to be more,” he laughs as he ruffles my hair before adding, “And I can’t wait for the one we’ll make at the wedding altar.” “What?” I push him in disbelief and he laughs even more. I end up laughing as well and the bus that’ll take us home soon arrives. I guess I’m now comfortable around Mr. Kim...given that I’m laughing a lot more with him around. I’m pooped by the time we get home. I thank Mr. Kim for the day and start to walk towards my room when Mr. Kim reaches out his hand to turn me around. But instead of grabbing my shoulder, his hand grabs my bag, and it falls to the ground, spilling its content on the ground. Darn it, I should have zipped it up. Mr. Kim apologizes and joins me as I drop down to pick everything up. Our hands stop at an item. It’s the...thing Sung Kyung gave me yesterday. I freeze, my face growing hot. I look at Mr. Kim, who’s staring at the silver package. He coughs a little, and turns away, his ears red. “Um, I promise I wasn’t thinking of anything bad when I got this,” I start to explain, but soon regret even bothering. Ugh, I’m such a mess. I rapidly stuff it in my bag and get up, hot with embarrassment. “Good night,” I say and speedily turn to go into my room. But before I can make a few steps, Mr. Kim’s hand reaches out again. And this time, it’s my shoulder he grabs. “...” I’m startled when he turns me around and takes a step closer towards me. His hand slides from my shoulder to my waist as he pulls me closer towards him. I tense up. “And I promise I won’t do anything bad, but...can I kiss you?” he asks in a low voice. I stare at him as he waits for my answer. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m actually starting to have feelings for him or just the sentimental atmosphere and his affectionate gaze on me. Whatever it is, at this moment, I just want to nod yes. Mr. Kim smiles briefly at my nod and I soon feel his soft lips press against mine. He begins to slowly gnaw at my lips and my face grows warm as he picks up speed. I don’t know what to do so I keep my lips together, but I guess that’s not something Mr. Kim is fond of. “Open up, baby,” he slightly moans as I glue my lips shut. When I still don’t allow him entry after a minute, he lightly bites my bottom lip. It doesn’t hurt, but I let out a small cry of pain and he takes that as an opportunity to seize my entire mouth. My head’s spinning as I feel his tongue swimming inside my mouth and the air grows hot as our breathing becomes heavier. His hand moves down my back and lands on my hips as his body pushes me against the wall. My bag falls to the ground. His other hand is behind my neck, keeping my head in place. I feel like I’m getting drunk from his lemongrass scent. “Let’s not go to work tomorrow,” he murmurs in between kisses, his voice hoarse and lower than before. He then picks me up by the legs and gently lays me down on the couch, not breaking our kiss. I wrap my legs around his waist and the movement of his lips around mine intensify. I can hardly keep up with what’s happening and all I’m thinking is, I don’t know if I’m ready for this. His hands slide up my thighs and into my dress when I feel my brain alert me and I can’t help but flinch. Mr. Kim must’ve noticed me flinching because he slowly pulls away and chuckles, “Relax, baby. Daddy’s not going to do anything you’re not ready for.” My face is hot with embarrassment and half of me feels bad for breaking our kiss. Mr. Kim smiles as he plants a light kiss on my forehead before getting up. He runs his fingers through his hair and looks at me. “Let’s go to bed now,” he says gently as he makes his way to his room. He grins before entering his room, adding, “We’ll save that silver package you have for next time.” I think my face is about to explode and all I can do is continue laying on the couch for another ten minutes, wondering what on earth just happened. ***
