Took My Breath Away (1/1)
This was originally a one shot. I haven’t changed anything from the first chapter (Except the usage of their stage names; am using their real names instead – Thanks for those who suggested. I am still in the process of editing the first few chapters) and I left the story hanging. After few comments from nice readers I decided to continue the story and make it a chaptered one. I hope you like it and I am open to critical comments as long as they help improve my writing. Enjoy reading! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Taehyung had a thing with the rapper line. Everyone knew that and the fact he was obsessed with the song, Cypher (all parts) was firmly established. But there’s one thing he was more obsessed with; the lead dancer of their group. He put no effort at all to hide his obsession over Hoseok’s rapping skills. He would stare at this one particular hyung every time he opened his mouth to sing or rap and sometimes, when Hoseok started dancing. He stared as if Hoseok was the most amazing thing in the entire universe, after his toy car. Hoseok was very playful, this was not new. Sometimes, he would annoy the maknae line more than the maknae line annoyed their leader, Namjoon. However, when he put his serious pants on, he transformed into a totally different person; a rapper and dancer on stage they called JHope. When JHope appeared, he made everyone forget his manic laugh and his loud screaming. He made them forget his offstage personality and focus only to the emotion he put in his performance. He bared all of his emotions when he sang, letting them free for everyone to see. His voice went croaky when he sang about desperation and broken heart, throaty when he sang about anger, quaver when he expressed the feeling of lost and loneliness, and in an undertone to convey a hope that was now gone. They were all almost the same but in the same time very different. JHope had the habit to close his eyes when he was too deep into his emotions and that wass when Taehyung found him the most attractive. It wasn’t like he hadn’t seen other singers did the same thing, it’s just that it meant in that brief moment, the Hoseok he knew was gone temporarily replaced by a very charismatic JHope. Sometimes, when he sang, JHope didn’t look at anything in particular and just focused on his lines and totally missed the gaze sent his way from one of his group members. His free hand moved together with the beat of the song and his long fingers attracted more than just the fans. Countless time Taehyung found himself captivated by JHope mainly because he was too used to offstage Hoseok and onstage JHope was so beautiful. He wasn’t sure at first if beautiful was the right word and adjective to describe JHope but he would rather spend his time admiring JHope’s features than making sure he himself looked handsome for the captive audiences. A nudge to his side brought him back to the concert arena which was loud with the screaming from their thousand fans. This was not the first time he was caught staring by Jimin. “Too obvious, Tae.” Jimin said, careful to put his mic away before he spoke. Taehyung just laughed it off. JHope’s part of the current song was over but he still had his eyes trained on the lead dancer who was now running around the stage. “He’s just so good.” He said after singing his own part. Now, Yoongi was rapping. “If you are going to talk about how good looking he is now, I am going to commit homicide on stage.” Jimin warned. “He is Hoseok hyung. We all know he is handsome.” Taehyung smiled and slung his arm over Jimin’s shoulder, harmonizing the later as he sang his part. He did this a lot because their voices fit amazingly well together. He hoped that one day Yoongi will come up with a song where instead of Yoongi himself, Taehyung would be harmonizing Hoseok’s rap part. They already had a song together but Hoseok had once announced that he wasn’t a fan of the song, in his very roundabout way of saying he hated it. Hoseok didn’t even bother to memorize the lyric. Personally, Taehyung didn’t like it either. Taehyung yearned for something more than ballad, a song with a more aggressive beat where he could finally be like his rapper hyungs. Hoseok just smiled when he presented the idea, Yoongi frowned, and Namjoon took some time to reply which usually his way of answering no. “You are a very good singer and you can rap but just stick to singing, you do a great job at it.” Yoongi told him, politely dismissing his idea. Namjoon patted his back. “Maybe one day. If hyung is able to come up with another song with beat and rhythm that suits you, hyung will let you rap.” “Rap is not about having the voice to do so. It’s more to being able to really express yourself without actually singing.” Yoongi added. “When you rap about being angry, you need to really sound like you are angry while still keeping up with the rhythm.” “I really don’t understand.” Taehyung replied, totally clueless. Yoongi paused, searching for another way to explain only to give up immediately. “Yeah… But you know what I am trying to say. Your voice is heaven sent to sing happy songs and sad songs but not angry.” Taehyung’s eyebrows knitted together as he struggled to understand his pink haired hyung. “You are not making any sense
