Dinner with the Choi Fami (1/1)
Yoona sat on her bed as she thought about everything that was happening. After Seunghyun found out that Yoona was pregnant with his baby, Leeteuk told every Park family member and Jessica to get in the car. Of course, Seunghyun tried to stop Yoona, but Yoona was already in the car with Leeteuk as the car drove off quickly. Yoona sipped on some steaming tea that was sitting on her bedside as she tried to remain calm. Leeteuk had not spoken one word to her ever since he found out. Jessica went home soon after the whole confrontation. Yoona heard a knock on the door to see that Heechul and Eunhyuk had entered the room. Eunhyuk gave her an uplifting smile as Heechul ran over next to her and gave her a big hug. “Baby sister, I have to say that I was disappointed, but Eunhyuk explained to me that there’s nothing more we can do. I have a little niece or nephew on the way, and I’m going to cherish that,” he assured her. “You’re not mad at me?” Yoona asked. “When we got home, you went straight to your room so you couldn’t see Heechul’s diva fit. He was practically throwing all the pillows of the couches on the floor and he was yelling so much! He stopped when Leeteuk told him to shut up. Leeteuk went to his office right away and I think he’s still locking himself in there. He sounds really upset about it,” Eunhyuk informed her. “Yeah, you should really talk to him later on. Don’t worry baby sister: he won’t hit you or anything. You’re too precious to him to hurt. He’s just upset that he’s going to have a human organism that’s related to him, that is also related to Choi Seunghyun. In other words, Seunghyun is last person in the world that he would want to get you pregnant,” Heechul said. Heechul and Eunhyuk quickly left her room as Yoona locked it. She opened her walk-in closet and picked out a pair of pajamas. She put them on as she walked over to her desk, picked up her laptop, and set it on her lap as she lounged on her bed. She turned it on and logged in. Yuri, Jessica, and she would webcam with each other frequently at night. She wasn’t surprised to see that Yuri and Jessica were logged on hours before her. She knew that they were waiting for her to log on so they could get all the details about everything that was happening. She turned her webcam on as Yuri and Jessica requested a web chat. She approved. “Hey, girls,” Yoona tried to smile as she waved. “Omono, tell us!” they both pleaded. Yoona sighed to herself. There were so many things happening and she knew that she was going to have to face Seunghyun sooner or later. “Well, when we got home, I went straight to my room while Leeteuk oppa went straight to his office. I’m going to talk to him later on about it, but Heechul and Eunhyuk oppa came in my room a few minutes ago telling me that they were here for me. Even though Heechul oppa kept on calling me his baby sister, I’m happy that they’re supporting me,” Yoona nodded. “Yoona-ah, I want to tell you that I support you too. No matter what happens, I’ll be here for you and the baby. Yuri, what happened in your house after the Parks left the premises?” Jessica interrogated. “Well, first it was really quiet. Then Seunghyun oppa began to wonder if it was true. For a few weeks now, he was talking about a girl that he met that was extremely beautiful. He was talking about a girl that looked like a goddess and how attracted he was to her, but he didn’t even know her name. I guess her finally figured who you were,” Yuri said, “It’s kind of weird that I referred to my own brother as smoking hot when you described him. Yoona, why didn’t you tell me that you were pregnant with my brother?!” “You didn’t find out because I didn’t know that he was your brother until I saw him at the party with you!” Yoona defended. “Oh, by the way Yoona, my mother found out that you’re pregnant with her eldest son,” Yuri claimed. Yoona looked a little nervous. She bit her lip as she heard Yuri to continuously talk. “She’s angry, isn’t she?” Yoona assumed. “Actually, she’s not angry; she’s actually ecstatic. You see, she had been in New York running the hotel chain there, and since Seunghyun oppa is the oldest from all of us, he’s the head and he’s going to inherit the most. Jiyoung and I really don’t mind because we know that he can handle it better than the both of us combined. Well, since he’s the main heir to the fortune, my mom has wanted him to get married and have a baby so she’s assured that the Choi family line won’t end. Seunghyun oppa had a girlfriend named Goo Hara, but she didn’t want to have a baby with him. He found out that she didn’t take their two year relationship very seriously, and she was only with him to get closer to his best friend, Taeyang. She dumped my brother, and right now, she’s still trying to throw herself at Taeyang oppa. Gosh, I hate that woman,” Yuri explained. “You only hate her because she’s trying to get with Taeyang! Weren’t you in love with him ever since middle school?!” Jessica burst into laughter. “Yeah, you would always describe him, but I really never knew how he looked like. Now that I found out how he looks like, I would like to say that you two look very compatible,” Yoona smiled. “I don’t know. It’s just that I get a feeling that he only sees me as a little sister since he treats Seunghyun like his blood brother,” Yuri pouted, “Oh, yeah, Yoona, come to my house tomorrow? My mom is coming over and she ordered that you come over for dinner.” Yoona lifted up her shoulders a little. She didn’t know if she should come. She hadn’t confronted Seunghyun over the pregnancy and she thought that their family would hate her for being a Park. She knew that she would be in an awkward position. “I really don’t know if I should come. Things aren’t settled yet and I’m probably not welcome to your home,” Yoona said. “Just go already! The future heir to the Choi family is inside your tummy and my brothers, cousins, and mother won’t deny you because if they do, then their denying their niece or nephew!” Yuri protested. “What time does it start then?” Yoona sighed in defeat. The next day… Yoona looked at the watch on her wrist. It was already six o’clock and the dinner at the Choi residence was going to start around seven. She put on a slim black dress and pinned the front hair to her head up. She put on foundation and applied some face powder. She slid some lip balm to her lips and put on her pair of heeled, black pumps. She had time, so she decided to talk to Leeteuk about everything. He had not spoken to her ever since the incident between the Choi family and her family. She stepped out of her room and walked to Leeteuk’s office. She gently knocked, but no one responded. She opened the door carefully and saw that there was no one inside. She sighed; he was probably in one of his late meetings again. She stepped over to his desk and sat on the chair. She saw that the computer screen was still on and it was opened to an e-mail. Yoona read it and it was from his secretary. Her eyes began to quickly wander and she gasped loudly while covering her mouth. On the e-mail, it claimed that the company’s stocks were going down because of Leeteuk’s failure to merge with another company. His secretary informed him that he would need to merge soon or the company would become bankrupt. Yoona couldn’t believe her eyes. Leeteuk never spoke of any of the problems and he had been working really hard just to make the company rise. All because of one failure to merge, all of his hard work went down the drain. Yoona just hated it that it wasn’t fair. She stepped outside of the office and headed to the living room. To her surprise, Eunhyuk was there sitting on the couch while watching television. He informed Yoona that Heechul and Leeteuk left to go to a meeting out of town. “Oppa, did you know that the company is going bankrupt?” she cried out. “Yoona, you should really know this. The company was supposed to merge with a Japanese company, but Leeteuk refused. He didn’t agree to the conditions and terms of the other company. Leeteuk, Heechul, and I are doing our very best to bring the company back up, but it’s a long shot from happening. We lost more than half of our investors and our stocks,” Eunhyuk confessed. “What were the conditions?” Yoona questioned. Eunhyuk sighed and shook his head. “You really don’t want to know,” he told her. “I do want to know. Please, tell me,” she pleaded. “Fine, since you’re not a little child anymore, you deserve the right to know. The Japanese business mogul wanted a marriage to tie in the merge. Leeteuk quickly refused after hearing that the business entrepreneur wanted you, yourself, to be in an arranged marriage with him. He saw a quick glimpse of you and found you to be beautiful, but Leeteuk refused because the man was already thirty-six, he already had three past wives, and he already had five children in and out of wedlock. He didn’t want you to be on that list of women he married,” Eunhyuk told her. “Oppa, I’m leaving. I’ll be back in a few hours,” Yoona informed him as she walked to her car like a zombie. She drove with so much anger and regret. Leeteuk had done so much for her, but she was just so ungrateful. Even though he was overly protective, he really cared about her. He proved to her that he would rather have the company have a fall rather than force her into a marriage. Yoona knew how much he loved the company. It was the only memory of their father since their father was the founder of the company. Leeteuk was so devoted to the company and growth of it that it touched Yoona that he preferred her happiness over his own. She drove to Yuri’s house. A guard walked over to her car as she rolled the window down. He took a quick glance at her, “You must be the woman Mrs. Park was itching to see. Mr. Seunghyun Park is very lucky to have you as his child’s mother. I’m sure that the baby will look beautiful with a handsome father and a gorgeous mother.” He opened the gates as Yoona smiled at him. “Thank you for the welcoming and the compliment,” Yoona drove in through the gate. She parked her car on the side and stepped out of the car. She saw Yuri walk out of the main entrance, look around, and run towards her. Yuri gave her a big hug as she saw the rest of the Park family standing at the doorway. Yoona’s heart began to quicken. She didn’t feel very welcomed even though they smiled at her. She just found it weird that her brother was in a rivalry with the father of her own baby. She saw an older looking woman wearing a white Prada dress. She had a big smile on her face as she approached Yoona and gave her a big hug. Yoona was just surprised on the fact that his mother already liked her on her first impression. “So you must be the great Park Yoona that the whole family is talking about! Oh my, you are really beautiful! You look like an angel—no! You look like a goddess! My grandchild will be so cute!” she squealed, “By the way, I’m their mother. My name is Park Minsun. How come none of your other family members came with you?” “Uhm, they’re actually really busy at the moment, so I apologize for their absence,” she bowed. Yoona saw Seunghyun standing with good posture and with no expression on his face. It was as if he was uncomfortable. Yoona knew that he really didn’t want to be the father of the baby and he didn’t want this to happen. It was just so weird for Yoona that he had not had one decent conversation with her and he was already the father of her baby. Yoona was led to the dining room of the mansion. She was seated between Seunghyun and Yuri while Minsun sat in front of her. She looked at the plate in front of her to see that it was a lobster dinner. She smiled and started to eat. The cousins looked giddy as they stared at her. She tried to smile at them as they began to giggle as Yoona grinned at them. Jiyoung sighed as he looked down on his food. “Sorry, Yoona; these two guys are just excited to have a pretty girl over at the house, but I should give you a warning: they are playboys,” Jiyoung laughed. “Hey, don’t try to dirty our image to her!” Seungri whined. “I know! This isn’t fair! We are young, mature adults and we don’t simply play with girls,” Daesung claimed. Yuri shook her head. “Not even close. You two broke so many hearts. One day, you’re going to get what you deserve and get your hearts broken, but it’s going to be worse than all the pain of the broken hearts you caused. Trust me, you will be punished for playing girls,” Yuri joked. “Hey, you two keep your eyes off of her already! She looks frightened of your stare downs,” Minsun lectured playfully. “You know, I didn’t know that the Park family had an adult sister. I have heard about their younger sibling, but I always thought that she would be like twelve years old. I always thought that we wouldn’t like her, but I guess I’m wrong,” Seungri stated. Yoona shifted in her seat uncomfortably. She knew that their family had a strong grudge against her own family. She didn’t know the reason, but it just seemed weird being on enemy territory. “I know! I wouldn’t think that she would be drop dead gorgeous!” Daesung agreed as he stuffed his face with some of the lobster tail. Yoona couldn’t help but laugh to herself. It was just weird that they thought she would be some kind of ugly troll or something just because they hated the family that she was in. “So, Yoona, have you checked if your pregnancy was correct? Those stupid home pregnancy tests aren’t always accurate,” Minsun asked. “Yes, mom she already checked. I assisted her,” Yuri announced. Yoona gasped a little. Yuri was revealing that they have known each other before she found out that she was pregnant. It was like she was telling everyone that the friendship that the eight year friendship that they had was real. Yuri sat confidently as her brothers and cousins looked at her with confusion. “Yeah, you guys didn’t know, but Yoona and I have been best friends since the seventh grade. We knew about your rivalry with her family, but we decided to keep our friendship a secret so that you guys won’t separate us from each other. I just wanted to say that because I find it stupid to keep that secret for any longer. She’s going to have my niece or nephew and I think it’s dumb that I have to act like she’s a stranger to me,” Yuri reasoned. Seunghyun stood a bit shocked. He felt stupid that he didn’t catch their friendship, but he could kind of understand why Yuri decided to keep it a secret. He sighed a little as everyone else began to finish their meals. “Look, I know that everyone’s kind of confused, but Yoona wanted to say something tonight,” Yuri signaled Yoona to start talking. Yoona took a deep breath before she stood up. She was nervous that she was standing in front of the family that hated her own family. She was nervous on how everyone would react to her after she gave birth to the baby. She was nervous on whether this stupid family feud would ever end. “Uhm, first of all, I would like to thank you guys for the wonderful dinner. It was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. Secondly, I would like to apologize for the event that has happened. I never knew that I would be standing here in front of you guys pregnant. I just feel so irresponsible and childish that this happened. I know that this is a burden to all of you,” Yoona spilled. “Oh no, dear, you have not been a burden. I’m actually quite happy that you’re carrying the start of the next generation for this family. I’m also glad because hopefully this pregnancy will open Seunghyun’s eyes and get over that girl, Goo Hara. That girl really has not done anything good for him. She’s such a promiscuous woman!” Minsun shouted. Seunghyun pounded his fist on the dinner table causing Yoona to jump up a little in surprise. Yoona looked at him and he looked angry. His jaw was clenched and his face was getting somewhat red with angriness. This told Yoona that he was obviously still in love with Hara. She knew that he hated it when people talked about Hara in that way. He was obviously head over heels for her, even if she didn’t deserve his devotion. “I just want to clear things out and just spill everything. I know that you guys hate my family, and I just wanted to tell you guys that my family is very dear to me. I really don’t know why this feud even started, but I really get a feeling that nothing’s going to change even if there’s going to be a little one related to both Seunghyun sshi and Leeteuk oppa. I just hope that nothing turns violent and that if you guys are going to fight, I do hope that you think twice on that and remember that you guys are full grown men. Let’s not act like teenagers,” Yoona advised. Minsun nodded her head. “The girl is smart, too! Seunghyun, my son, why won’t you take this opportunity and marry her?” Minsun asked. “Forget it; you just want me to give up on trying to get Goo Hara back. I really don’t think that a marriage with me and Yoona sshi would even work out in the first place. Goo Hara is the only woman for me. The only thing that I could say is that I’m not going to give up on her and she’s the only woman I’ll ever love,” he said as he started to walk out of the dining room angrily. Yoona knew that he just hated the position that he was in. The last thing he would want was to be the father of a baby of a woman that he hardly knew, let alone his enemy’s sister. Yoona stood up before he could exit the dining room. He heard her chair push back as he turned around to see that she had stood up. It looked like she had something to say. “Listen, I know that you don’t want to be the father of my baby. Just erase everything you heard from me. You know what? Just continue your fighting with my brother. Since you also don’t want to be the father of this baby, just forget about that one night and when this child is born, just act like you have nothing to do with the kid. In other words, just pretend that nothing has happened! You could just go back to fighting with my brother like cats and dogs and continue to hate my brothers and me. I’ll be more than happy to raise this child alone rather than have this child have a father that doesn’t even want to be there for him or her!” Yoona exclaimed. During her whole speech, the Choi’s felt goosebumps arising from their skin. Yoona had never really defended herself and it shocked Yuri that she did. Yoona felt her stomach becoming a little uneasy as she pressed her hand against her stomach. She felt like she was going to vomit anytime soon. “Excuse me, but my baby and I need to go!” Yoona bowed as she stomped out of the dining room. As Yoona passed by Seunghyun, he grabbed a hold of her hand. She stopped, turned around, and looked at him. His expression on his face changed from fuming to understanding. Yoona tried to let go of his hand, but he just wouldn’t allow it. The family sat in the dining table with shock painted all over their face. They knew from his expression that Seunghyun was regretting making Yoona upset. Yoona just stared into his eyes to try to read him, but she couldn’t. “I don’t want you to leave. I don’t want to act as if the baby isn’t mine. I don’t want you to raise that baby alone. I don’t want my child to grow up without a father. Just stay; I’m sorry for making you angry,” Seunghyun muttered. “I know that you’re still in love with that girl, and I’m not trying to force you to love me back. I really don’t want anyone to love me because they’re forced to, and it certainly doesn’t mean that just because we’re having a child together, I’m supposed to love you or you the other way around. I just want this kid to have a strong relationship with its father and mother. I don’t want any part missing, but if you’re going to shun the child, I would prefer it if you don’t see the baby at all,” Yoona told him. “I want to be a part of the baby’s life. It’s my fault, too, that you got pregnant. The only thing is that I’m in love with another woman. I just wanted to warn you that,” Seunghyun told her. Yoona thought about it for a while. Seunghyun loved Hara just like she loved Siwon. It would be awfully hard to forget about Siwon, so she knew how he felt about the whole pregnancy. She nodded her head as Minsun gasped. Minsun didn’t want Yoona to understand that Seunghyun was in love with Hara. She wanted Yoona to make him forget about her. “How is she going to take this? If she finds out that you got me pregnant?” Yoona asked. “I don’t know yet, but I’ll make things work out,” he promised. Yoona’s phone rang as she took it out of her purse. She lifted up her phone and it read that it was from Taeyeon. She excused herself as she picked up the call. Taeyeon was telling her to come home already since it was almost ten. She even warned her that it wasn’t good for the baby if the mother was lacking sleep. Yoona hung up as she bowed to the Choi family. “I really have to go now. My sister-in-law is telling me to come home. Thank you for the wonderful meal and for accepting me to your home,” Yoona smiled as she walked out of the house. When she left the house, Minsun stood up looking red with fury. Seunghyun’s eyes shot open to see his mother looking so disappointed and angry at the same time. She stood up and walked over to him. “Are you stupid?! Why did you have to defend Hara in front of her?! Why didn’t you ask her to marry you?!” she yelled. “Mom, I don’t need to ask her to marry me! She wouldn’t want to and plus I’m in love with another woman!” “You’re so dumb! You said that you wanted to be a part of your baby’s life and you won’t marry the mother? There are several reasons why you should marry her!” she claimed. “Then what are the reasons?” he asked. “Didn’t you go to that conference three weeks ago?! It said that the Park’s stocks are going down and the company is close to bankrupt! The only way to save the company is with a merge! You could merge with a marriage!” she shouted. “He didn’t go to the conference because he was clubbing and that was where he met Yoona sshi!” Seungri laughed. “Shut up, Seungri! Mom, why would I want to save the company of my enemy? There’s no reason,” he told her. Minsun sighed deeply and started to tap her feet against the floor of the dining room. You could hear her high heels hitting the marble tiles continuously. “You need to save the company because other than you and that Leeteuk boy, there wouldn’t be a rivalry between our two families! She’s also the mother to your baby and the company is very precious to her also! If you don’t marry her, the whole public is going to find out that you got her pregnant out of wedlock! They know about the rivalry between the two families, and they’re going to think badly of you. They’re going to think that you got her pregnant to get Leeteuk angry. If you get married to her, people will think that you two settled your feud because of your ‘love’ for Yoona and they’ll praise you! Seunghyun, I know the only thing that’s holding you back is that Hara girl. Forget about her! She left you for your best friend! Even though your best friend and she isn’t an item because that dear Taeyang refuses to be in a relationship with her, you should still forget about her. She’s not worth it! Do you really want your eldest child to grow up as a bastard and whose parents aren’t together?” Minsun questioned. Seunghyun was a bit dumbfounded by her statements. It was true. There were many good reasons to marry her, and the only reason why he didn’t want to marry her was because of Goo Hara. It was either he chose to be responsible and do the right thing by marrying Yoona, or be irrational and cruel by not taking responsibility for her. He looked at his family. Jiyoung gave him an encouraging smile. Daesung and Seungri were looking at him with amusement plastered on their faces. Yuri was secretly hoping that he would ask Yoona to marry him. He looked down at his hands and finally spoke. “I’ll ask her to marry me,” he mumbled.
