“Tao, you’ll do perfectly fine!” assured Kai.
“B..but what if I mess up again...”
Tao squirmed in his chair while pouting. Fingers fiddling. Sweat dripping to his eyebrow.
“Yah! We both know you practiced like crazy this past week. I can hear the fangirls screaming out our names already!!” Kai closed his eyes with arms wide open. He smiled while imagining the two of them performing in front of a huge crowd.
Tao giggled and nudged Kai.
“Thanks....but I don’t think Kyungsoo would appreciate
that you’re fantasizing about fangirls behind his back.”
“Tch. No one can replace my Kyunggie.”
“Kyunggie? Blech. What is with you guys and nicknames?”
Tao fake gagged that garnered a death glare from the other.
"Well excuseeeee me, my little panda!"
"What did you just say?"
"My. Little. Panda. I'm Kris' witte panda!
I can't sleep wit out my wittle knight in shining amour...
that needs to go away cause Kai doesn't like him!"
"Okay. That's it!"
"Ughh. You two shut it! Especially you...Jongin."
"Yah! I told you not to call me that!!"
Kyungsoo wrapped his arm around Kai’s shoulder.
Tao and Kyungsoo laughed as Kai pouted.
Today was the day several male trainees have waited for.
It was evaluation day.
With one dance and one performance, your fate will be determined.
Tao has been through the process before but this time seemed a lot more nerve wracking. Maybe it was because the people that were doing the evaluations with him are his good friends.
Tao and his friends were in the waiting room. It was only them and another group of boys competing. They were rumored to receive very promising results during the evaluations despite not being included in those gossip articles.
The group was mysterious. No one knew much about them and they often kept to themselves. Though whenever you were lucky enough to see them perform it was hard to believe they were trainees. People swear they were veteran idols in disguise.
No one voiced the tension and pressure. Everyone was well aware of the potential of their competition. It pushed them to work even harder in the final week. They refused to give nothing but their best in the crucial 20 minutes.
“Boys, you’re up in 2 minutes!” noted a staff member.
Just two more minutes...just two more...
Tao’s body jolted upon hearing a familiar ringtone.

Tao managed a weak smile.
No texts filled with hearts this time but he could tell that Kris still cared about him.
And I thought you were getting tired of me...
Tao hadn’t let the others in on something.
