Meeting New People (1/1)
Once upon a time there lived a lovely princess who was well loved and had many friends. She didn’t have to worry about anything and life was perfect… if only! No this is not a fairytale story about a girl with a perfect life. Nope this is a story about a normal girl, living in a normal house, with a normal life. There’s nothing extraordinary or magical about, how she wishes though. My name? Samantha and yes this is a story about me. Hopefully you don’t get bored and leave early I wouldn’t blame you if you did though. If you have made it this far then I guess I’m doing something right. Well then let’s journey a little further into my, oh so wonderful life. Well I am currently in a boring lecture hall class, and if you’re curious I’m a freshman this year, and I feel like I might as well be in my bed. If I’m going to waste my time I might as well be doing something that I actually like doing such as sleeping. The good thing about college is the social life though. You get to meet the most wonderful people in your life here and they will probably be your friends for life. Yea right. I have made about two good friends since I’ve been here. Don’t get me wrong they are the coolest people in this place. Well according to me they are. Soon I notice that people are starting to get up and file out of the lecture hall. At least it’s finally over. I don’t even know why having to know about some ancient civilization is a requirement to graduate this stupid school. I’m a foreign language major. The Mayans don’t care about my life just like I don’t care about theirs. I checked my phone as I was walking out of class and saw that I got a text from one of my friends that told me to meet them at the college union to grab lunch. I put my phone away and headed over there. There is one good thing about college and that is people don’t treat you like crap for no reason, while you walk around campus like they do in high school. You know what I’m talking about. When you would walk the halls of your high school and people would knock the books out of your hands and then kick them away from you. Or they would “accidently” bump you into the lockers more than once. Oh did that only happen to me? My two friends thought I was joking when I told them about my high school experience. They thought bullying didn’t happen anymore. Well not like that. You know most people moved to more sophisticated methods such as cyber-bullying and things like that. I guess I was one of the few kids out there that was still bullied physically, mentally, and electronically. Yea high school wasn’t fun but let’s stop dwelling on the past and move onto a bigger and brighter future known as college, SUNY College at Hartwood to be exact. It’s in the rural town of you guessed it Hartwood, New York. It is located in western New York or what I call upstate New York. If you’re wondering I’m from Long Island, New York and anything above the New York City and the five boroughs is considered upstate to me. I finally made it to the union and saw my two friends sitting in the Starbucks area of the union. Yes we have a Starbucks in our school; caffeine is like another meal to most college students just like alcohol. Alisa was wearing a cute navy blue long sleeved shirt with a pair of black jeans and black sneakers. She had her long dark brown hair in a ponytail. Alisa is about 5’4 and is petite with bright blue eyes. Most people think she is sweet and innocent; oh if they only knew her. Then sitting across from her is my other friend Derrick. He was wearing a white v-neck t-shirt and a pair a blue jeans with blue and white sneakers. Derrick is about 5’10 and has black hair at about ears length and he has bright green eyes and no they are not contacts, I have already asked and checked. Don’t worry about how I checked, I have my ways.If I do say so myself I think my friends are very good looking but again that’s because I don’t have any ugly friends. I guess I’m sort of superficial in a way and only hang out with cute people but, then there is me. I’m about 5’6 with long black hair that comes to my shoulders, dark caramel colored skin, and hazel brown eyes. I soon noticed that there was someone on the left of Derrick, someone that I didn’t know. I walked over to the table and sat across from this stranger. Who, if I do say so myself, was very, very cute. He is Asian with black hair that came down a little past his ears. It seemed like he took care of it though because it looked really good; on him at least. He seemed to be Americanized by the clothes he wore and he didn’t look frail and really skinny, plus he had double eyelids that looked natural. Ok, now I’m stereotyping and thinking way too much into this. “Umm… Hello?”I wonder what his nationality is. His skin isn’t too tan so I don’t think he is Pacific Islander. Maybe Korean or Japanese, he doesn’t look Chinese though. “Is there something on my face?” “Don’t worry about it. She just has a slight Asian fetish so she’s just mesmerized by your beauty. Hey Sam stop drooling and snap out of it!” Derrick proceeded to snap his fingers in front of my face and slightly shake me. “Huh? What Derrick?! What’s wrong with you? Why are you snapping your fingers at me like I am some kind of dog?!” “What’s wrong with me?! What’s wrong with you? You’re sitting there drooling all over my friend here and you’re starting to creep him out now.” “Shut up! I wasn’t drooling”Alisa just started laughing. “You totally were Sam”Then the stranger across from me started laughing and I shot daggers at him with my eyes. He in returned stuck his hand out and introduced himself. “Hello Samantha, I’m Jongin Kim. “ I took his hand and shook it. “Oh so you’re Korean then?” “Yea how did you know?” “How could I not know? You have one of the most popular Korean last names out there. Oh and you can just call me Sam” “Alright Sam and well most people usually guess Chinese since you know, I’m Asian and we all must be Chinese.” “Well our Sammy here knows enough about Asian cultures that she can basically tell you all apart. She either needs to just look at you, here you speaks in your language or, know your name. If you tell her one of those three things then she can tell you what your nationality is. This is why we say that she has an Asian fetish” I then hit Derrick on his arm. “Shut up. I do not have an Asian fetish” “Sure even though all you listen to is that K-Pop stuff and know all their names and every little thing about them” Alisa said. “Well first of all K-Pop is amazing and of course I know everything about my Oppas”Then I turned to look at Jongin and asked, “How old are you by the way?” “I’m a junior so I was born in 1991. If you want the exact birth date it’s January 14, 1991.” “Oh my gosh! So you’re my Oppa! I was born in ’93 on November 20.” “So you’re still 17?” “Yea. Oh and do you mind if I call you Oppa?” “Yea as long as you don’t call me Appa because then that would kind of creep me out” “Aish and that’s what I was going to call you next.” I laughed. “This is really daebak. I never would have thought that I would meet a Korean student here, well one as cute as you that is.” I laughed some more. “If I didn’t know any better I would think that you were hitting on me.” “Sam hands off I saw him first you’re not allowed to have him.” “Derrick he probably doesn’t even want you! Jongin do you want him?” “Huh? Oh Derrick you’re a nice guy and all but, I’m sorry I don’t go that way.” “Damn the cute ones never do.” “What the hell are you talking about Derrick most of the cute guys are gay!” I exclaimed. “Yea, well then why don’t you go and find me a boyfriend right now then.” “What am I a matchmaker?! If you pay me I might” “As if! Anyway I brought Jongin here so we could all hang out together not so that you and him and sit here and speak Korean and hook up with each other.”Then Jongin chimed in. “I would love to stay but I actually have another class in about ten minutes. Derrick you have my number right?” “Yea” “Alright so I will catch up with you guys later. Oh and you better show up tonight!” He said as he ran off. “Show up for what?” I asked staring at the direction that he went off in. “He is throwing a party at his house tonight and he invited me and told me to bring some girls. And guess what, you guys are the girls.” “Omo he is throwing a party! I need to figure out what to wear!” “Wow I’ve never seen you this excited for a party since we got here.” “Well a cute guy has never invited us for a party that’s why” “That is true.” “What time does it start?” “Ten” “Ok. Alright you guys are going to help me pick out something really cute for tonight!” “Wow you must really like him” “Yea did you see him?! He was freaking gorgeous!” “Asian fetish~” They both said in unison. “Shut up. I can’t help that I find him attractive and he just happens to be Asian.” “Sam, do you ever listen to yourself when you talk?” “I tend to tune in and out. Now let’s go figure out what I’m wearing tonight!” “Sam, it’s 3o’clock. The party isn’t for another seven hours! We will come over around nine and then help you decide ok.” “Alright. I’m going to change my image tonight from boring Sam to cool fun Sam!” “Alright, whatever you say.”Then we went our separate ways and I went to my room and thought about Jongin and the awesome night that was ahead of me.A/N: Hey guys! This is my first fanfic and I hope this chapter wasn't too bad. I will try and update again soon.
