Sisters advice. (1/2)

I immediately dropped everything that I had been holding onto – my handbag and a bag of take-away food, running towards the scene I just couldn’t believe was happening in front of me. Each step closer, everything would become so much clearer. There they were; Eunmi and Sunggyu, arms around each other. I wish I could’ve told you they were only hugging. I even wish I could’ve told you they were just kissing…But this wasn’t an ordinary kiss. Sunggyu had Eunmi pressed up to the car park meter, while he held her legs around his waist. I squinted my eyes to get a better view of Eunmi’s hands travelling around the back of Sunggyu's head while Sunggyu's hands…I don’t even want to know, actually. The only source of light was one street light in the middle of the almost empty car park, they both just stood there…Well in Eunmi’s case sat there (?) ignoring the fact that absolutely anyone could be around at this time.

“EUNMI, WHAT’RE YOU DOING!?” I shouted, running out of breath.

Eunmi immediately pulled away after hearing my outburst, as she stared at me in absolute shock. “J-Jiyeon!” She stuttered. “It’s not what you think!” Her eyes were opened wide, while Sunggyu still couldn’t come to terms with the kiss they had just shared. He stood there, stunned as he touched his red lips in astonishment, a million thoughts running through his mind; identical to mine.

“You…Both of you…What the hell!?” I felt so worked up. The two simply wavered me off, saying what I had seen wasn’t what I had been thinking it was.

“So what you’re trying to say is that, I caught the two of you making out, but…But you weren’t making out!?”

“Jiyeon…Just listen.” Sunggyu tried calming me down, but I just couldn’t get the image out of my head.

“You!” I shouted, pointing my finger directly at Sunggyu’s face. His eyes narrowed, looking at the tip of my finger in confusion, while the anger inside of me began to boil. “What the hell was that about!? I thought you two hated each other!”

Sunggyu parted his lips, preparing to defend himself, when Eunmi quickly cut in. “Jiyeon! If you’ll just listen! Sunggyu and I…What you saw was a misunderstanding, honestly! I don’t like him, not even a bit!” She nervously laughed.

“She’s right!” Sunggyu interrupted. “I’d never like her…She’s rude, arrogant, conceited…”

“Okay she gets it, hamster.” Eunmi hissed as she crossed her arms onto her chest and rolled her eyes. “The point is…We don’t like each other, no way. We’re not each other’s type, you saw it right? We hated each other…That’s the way it’ll always be. Whatever you saw…Whatever just happened wasn’t supposed to. We hate each other and always will.”

I turned my head from Sunggyu to Eunmi. The look in their eyes was something which I had recognized so well, it was the look of denial – A feeling I’ve experienced in the past. The look in their eyes told me I wasn’t the only one they were trying to convince, it was also themselves. I couldn’t believe it; all this time I’ve been so naïve when the obvious answer was right in front of me – Sunggyu likes Eunmi...They’re both crazy about each other, they like each other so much to the point where the only way they could communicate was to bicker – Bickering it may have been in the eyes of other’s, but in theirs it was a simple excuse to communicate, a way to talk to each other. I should’ve just listened to Myungsoo…

I felt a hand grip onto my shoulder, as Myungsoo breathed heavily behind me. “Why’d you run off without me!?” He was clearly out of breath from probably running all the way here. Everyone remained silent, Sunggyu and Eunmi’s eyes directed onto me.

“You two…” Myungsoo smirked. “You two were making out weren’t you?”

Eunmi turned bright red, while Sunggyu looked more frustrated than anything else.

“L, it was a misunderstanding… I must’ve had too much to drink. You know as the leader of Infinite I can’t afford to be having distractions like this, especially at critical time like debut.  It was an accident, just something that happened in the moment, trust me.” With that Sunggyu left the scene, a little frustrated. Myungsoo, without a second thought chased after him, firstly asking whether I’d be able to get home alright.

When the scene was clear with only Eunmi and I left sat on the edge of the car park sidewalk. I glared at her in confusion, while she sat there, an unknown emotion printed onto her face, she was softy smiling but her eyes wondered off into space. “That’s right…” She softly whispered. “He’s not my type, that was just an accident…I’m just a distraction.” Eunmi didn’t look at me whilst speaking; instead she stared into space, refusing to come back to reality.
