Honey, youre so sweet. (1/2)
The cold sky had passed over when I had awoken next. It was replaced with a refreshing yet cold night breeze. Sending goose bumps all along my legs when I had released myself from the cosy bed I had slept in for around a good four hours now.
The door suddenly swung open revealing a dressed up Myungsoo holding a bowl in one hand a pair of chopsticks in another.
“Oh, you’re awake.” He mumbled. Myungsoo bit onto the noodles which he had been eating earlier and dropped the remaining strands back into the bowl, licking his saucy lips.
“How you feeling?” He said, putting his bowl onto the nightstand and feeling my forehead while I simply sighed back tiredly in response.
‘Still got a fever…” He quietly mumbled. He then lifted his arm, shaking away his sleeve as he checked for the current time.
“You’ve been sleeping for quite a while now, want to try going out for a while?”
I breathed in some air and pursed my lips tight as I felt my warm forehead with the back of my hand.
“Mmm.” I whined. “I don’t feel so well…” I restlessly laid back onto the bed, feeling the cold breeze swish past me once again, lifting the curtains in its progress. I curled my toes after realizing how cold the air was starting to get. It was summer yet winter was slowly trying to make its way back. “Myung …” I tiredly breathed, while still keeping my eyes shut. “Could you close the window? It’s freezing. I quietly heaved a sigh, feeling at ease again when Myungsoo had closed the window tight, locking it just in case. But it soon came to me that closing the window hadn’t helped, as a matter of fact, it made things much worse. I shivered while my teeth chattered like crazy when my fever went from hot to cold and right back to burning hot again.
“This isn’t good…You’ve taken your medicine yet you’re still like this…” I still kept my back turned on Myungsoo, hearing him walking out the door and shutting it tight. I squeezed my eyes in anguish, kicking my legs onto the mattress when my body felt like it needed to release the slight agony I was feeling deep inside of me. My insides were burning hot, feeling like I had swallowed coal, while my body shivered feeling like I was lying in a tub of freezing ice. I had no idea how to feel or how to erase my burning desire to just cry it all out, so instead I tried laying there motionless as I wrapped myself up into a ball, clinging tightly onto my legs like it were my life. I lay silently picturing the blissful memories Myungsoo and I had previously shared.
Of course the pain didn’t fade, it refused to reject my pain, but my mind was no longer concentrated on the pain anymore. It flashed moments of Myungsoo and I sitting outside of Taewoo’s house, when Myungsoo had kissed me for the very first time, that crazy night we ignored the world’s idea of ‘sane’ while we sat silently in the freezing winter night, on the side of Seoul’s busy side road, eating ice-cream like the crazy people we usually were when together, that day Myungsoo carried me bridal style all the way back to our apartment; simply because he wanted so desperately to prove that he wasn’t ashamed of me, that in fact his displays of adoration towards me would be never ending…It would be Infinite.
The noise of clattering glasses instantly woke me from my daydream, bringing me back to reality. I turned my head to the slightly to the side, watching from the corner of my eye as Myungsoo placed the tray onto the nightstand, picking up the glass and a jar of gooey honey. Myungsoo carefully picked up the jar spooning out some honey and mixing it into the glass. I watched intently as the thick honey gradually melted into the hot tea.
