Breathe in.
Breathe out.She opened her eyes to four white walls and paint ripped in every corner. Droplets of water fell from the air conditioner as it did a poor job cooling the room – she was sweating so profusely, the hospital gown she was wearing clung to her body. She wasn’t tied up. Every muscle hurt.Breathe in.
Breathe out.She looked around her and assessed the room: a door of iron on the farthest wall, a wooden table in the middle of the room with feet of steel, a wooden nightstand beside her bed, a clock hanging on the nearest wall and from the colour of the sun rays peeking through the blinded window she guessed two things: a) the clock wasn’t on time so it was there for a different purpose; it probably hid a camera or at least a microphone, b) the sun was about to set, and the night only meant she had better chances of escaping this place if they chased her afterwards. Her throat burned. She coughed. It echoed loudly.Gasp for air.
Breathe out.The sound of a key trying to fit in the keyhole instantly piqued her interest. She stilled. Two men with deep voices – Japanese, they spoke, with a pronounced accent; maybe they were trying to feed her false leads to make her question her location. The door opened, and two blurry forms came into view. She blinked.Breathe in.
Breathe out.“Is she fully awake?” One asked, approaching her with his gun withdrawn. It looked heavy in his hand. It was definitely loaded.“Yeah. Boss saw her move,” the other replied, less cautious than his friend as he reached with his hand to touch her. So their boss was in this building. The clock definitely hid a camera. There was a sneer evident in his tone, seemingly feeling confident and protected. He had a gun too and that’s why he was acting so tough, she was sure; it was probably in the waistband of his pants. A look at the free hand hovering over his left side told her he had it hidden there. “Look up here, sleeping beauty.”Glancing behind him first, she found the door closed. They probably had backup right there. Then, she did as told. She looked at him dead in the eyes.“Such a waste of visuals, for real,” he leered at his friend, laughing.Breathe in.
Hold it.Breathe out.His body hit the ground a second after a loud bang echoed in the small room, blood jutting from his side enough to paint his shirt red. She used his own weapon. It took her two more seconds to eliminate the other guy and jump out of the bed only to crumble to her knees, muscles giving out the moment she attempted to walk. Frowning, she brought the nearest corpse to her chest just in time to hide from the shots fired by the two guards barging inside the room with guns pointed at her – the commotion did its drill and had alerted them something was wrong. They fired ten shots in total, all bullets lodging themselves in the dead man’s body. Her arm peeked from behind him and two bullets left the gun she was holding. The guards dropped instantly.Breathe in.She rose to her feet again, this time holding her stance better. The sedative they gave her was wearing off. Turning behind her, she shot the clock on the wall right in the middle. Sparks protruded.Camera ruined. She breathed out.She made it to the hallway connected to her room right after ridding one of the men of his firearm and jacket. With two guns (one withdrawn and the other hidden in her pocket), she had better chances of making it out of there alive. She headed left and ran to the door that faced her. Two shadows peeked from the crack under it. She seized a baseball bat that was carelessly left on the floor as she approached it.Immediately, she sprung the door open, successfully head-butting one of the three guards in the room with it. She threw the baseball bat right at the second and he crumpled to his knees, groaning like his friend. A shot left her gun and she clutched the body of the woman she killed right in front of her for protection. Two more bullets left her and embedded themselves in the heads of the two other men.Three more guards came running behind her through the hallways so she let the body drop to the floor. She hunched down too, taking the pistol she found there and turned to them right as they fired, barely missing her shoulder. She emptied her two weapons right in their center of mass. She didn’t flinch watching the amount of blood that left their bodies.Breathe in.
Breathe out.She rose to her feet again and let the empty firearms fall, drowning the empty hallway in momentary noise. She turned around and walked to the other door connected to the room she was in, not forgetting to amass two of the weapons of the dead guards. She paused. One of the guns was a Glock 43, with a single stack 9mm and a six-round magazine capacity, chambered for the larger 9mm cartridge instead of the slightly smaller .380 ACP.She moaned appreciatively, smirking. Perfect. Her body started acclimating to the effort she was exerting, adrenaline pumping through her veins and masking the ache in her muscles. She was feeling… more like herself. And she was out for blood. What happened after she opened that one last door was a blur. There were so many guards waiting for her, to each their kind of weaponry. She put that good old Glock to good use for what it counted. But then, she had a sour taste in her mouth (they took one too many swings at her and she was sure her face was bloodied) and she had to rely on her bare hands and her muscle memory once she ran out of ammo. The moment the last man dropped, instant death as she sprained his neck, she was heaving and standing in a roomful of dead corpses. Her gown was painted red and her knuckles bled.Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.Focus.There he was, smirking, right in front of her with his gun pointed at her because pigs like him stayed in their cowardice and hid behind manpower.Jang Hakyun. 21. Rich heir of the deceased Jang Haeun, the most notorious drug dealer in the west wing of Seoul city. He had a weak right knee and poor precision when it came to handling a weapon. He used to be a nice guy when he was still in the shadows, far from the issues of his daddy’s business. She knew everything about him, because she read his file and did her homework. He knew she knew everything about him, because the mistake of his life was messing with her and her family.“Bae Joohyun-noona,” he greeted her, a smile evident on his face. The aircon in this room worked properly, but he was sweating. He was nervous, she could tell. “What brings you here? It’s poor manners, you know, to wander in somebody else’s home without their permission,” he laughed. “Especially since we took such good care of you, dear guest.”Joohyun assessed the situation quickly and quietly. There were countless windows around them. From the peeking tree leaves that came into view, she guessed they were probably on the second level of this building, but not any higher. She looked back at the armed man, focusing on his hold on the gun. It was loaded, but his safety lock was on – he couldn’t fire his weapon like that. That wouldn’t give her enough time to monopolize him but it could buy her vital time nonetheless.“You… I underestimated you, noona,” he confessed, passing a hand through his dark hair and sighing. “But look at you, standing there after killing twenty-five trained men single-handedly.” He spat, and she glanced at the knife disposed of on the floor right by her foot. “Beauty, brains and brawn. Women like you are rare.”“You talk too much, Jang Hakyun,” she sniffed, wiping the trail of blood that gushed through her nose. She studied his posture, the way he stiffened at the sound of her voice and that made her smile. “You know… when I was a kid, my parents took me to this doctor to see what the hell was wrong with me. Because I didn’t like other people that much and I didn’t care about them either,” she confessed and shifted her weight on her stronger foot. She decided this would make it easier to seize the knife. “It turned out I was an Axis II.”He smirked, “what the fuck is that?”She smirked right back. “It means that when I kill you, I won’t feel anything at all,” she shared. “In fact, I might even enjoy it.”That seemed to wipe the sneer off his face. And that was her cue. Joohyun dropped to her feet and grabbed the knife just as he tried to take a shot at her.His gun clinked and locked until he noticed the enabled safety lock and turned it off. By the time he tried to aim at her again, a pocket knife lodged itself in his right knee and he shouted loud and clear, dropping his weapon in agony and joining it to clutch his injury.“You fucking bitch!” Hakyun yelled and drew back the knife, making more blood gush out. Bad move.Whatever men were still roaming around to protect their boss must have heard that, Joohyun judged. If there were any left that is.She stood up and let out a heavy breath. She ran to him with feathery steps, dodging the knife he tried to throw back at her. Once close enough, she jumped high enough to connect her bare knee with his jaw and a sickening crack echoed as he dropped to the side. His grunting form made her want to vomit.“Look at me,” she commanded, grabbing him by the collar. His head lolled with the movement, blood dripping from his mouth. She rolled her eyes and cupped his chin. He opened his eyes tiredly. “Where’s Yerim?”“With her father. Dead.” Hakyun laughed, coughing a little bit.She frowned. “I won’t repeat myself twice.”He laughed again and she punched him, successfully breaking one of his front teeth. “Fuck.” He spat with his blood. He turned to her. “It’s tit for tat, noona. You killed my father and I killed your sister. It’s only fai—”His words died in his throat the moment Joohyun’s hand wrapped around it. She growled at the exertion as she dragged him towards the nearest window. “Hakyun. Do you know what your father was doing when I got to him that night?” She caught the wire that was dangling from the ceiling and pulled it down; it was possibly connected to one of the building’s cameras but it looked solid. “He was beating your mother,” she informed him as she brought the cable to his throat, circling it repeatedly for good measure. Then, she made him lean against the wall. “But that wasn’t why I killed him,” she admitted, unapologetic. “And I didn’t lose sleep after I did. I went to eat ramyun right after I ended him.”The fear in his eyes as tears escaped them was a familiar sight to Joohyun.Breathe in.
Breathe out.“Let me make it easy for you. If you missed that asshole enough to avenge him, you should just join him.” She opened the window. He began to whimper, shaking his head in terror.“Please. Noona.”“Send him my regards,” she spat in his face, just as she pushed him off the edge. His scream got caught in his chest and soon enough he was hanging by the throat, legs kicking desperately. Joohyun only pulled the wires tighter and watched him fight his inescapable end.She was positive she wiped out all his men by now, since no one showed up.He went limp. She left him there.Breathe in.Yerim.Joohyun blinked. She walked towards the exit tiredly. On the way, she picked up the Glock she found earlier and pocketed it although it had no ammo. She liked that gun. That was when she felt something wet oozing out of her gut. She looked down to find a fresh patch of red dotting her already ruined gown, she frowned. She was bleeding, and fast. Then she felt it, the pain.Someone shot her.“Son of a bitch.” She cursed, leaning against the wall as she slid to the ground. The mess of dead people she murdered faced her. All for her. All for Yerim. The blurry image of her sister came to her mind just as she felt the adrenaline wear off. Gut shots were the worst, she knew that, but the idea of dying among these filthy cowards bothered her. She coughed. She couldn’t leave yet.Yerim-ah.Her eyes closed on their own accord. She had no one to say goodbye to, now, if Yerim is really dead. So Joohyun wondered who was that girl who came into view just before darkness took over. She had no one to say goodbye to, now, but this girl clung to her like she meant something to her.Breathe in.Breathe out.Breathe in.Breathe… out. __ “Unnie,” the shortest girl of the pair whispered, voice hushed since it was way past midnight. They were lying on the floor of their kitchen, huddled up in thin blankets in an attempt to seek comfort and warmth. The taller one smiled warmly even though her counterpart couldn’t really see it, “hm, Yerim-ah?”“Unnie. I like sleeping with unnie like this,” she shared, scooting even closer to bury her nose in her sister’s neck. “It’s better than being alone in my bed.”“Is that so? Then let’s sleep together like this from now on,” Joohyun decided. She hugged the girl tightly. “I love you, Yerim-ah.”“Me too!” was the muffled reply that came her way.She smiled. The silence that followed fooled her into thinking the girl actually did fall asleep. She didn’t.“Unnie?”Joohyun opened her mouth to reply. She couldn’t.Her eyes snapped open.“Hyunnie-unnie?”It sent her into panic mode instantly. She tried to force the words past her throat to no avail.“Unnie. Talk to me. Are you okay?”She groaned. Fuck. Yerim!“Unnie!” Her eyes snapped open just as she gasped for air. A sharp jolt of pain shot from her side to her sternum – she suppressed the groan that wanted to tear itself from her lips. A white ceiling came into view. Her habits kicked in and she quickly asserted the situation: she wasn’t cuffed, or restrained. Her wounds were treated and – bringing a hand to her stomach – wrapped up nicely. The air conditioner worked properly, so whoever had her wasn’t from the underworld or didn’t want to hide her hastily. They probably knew what they were doing.“Oh, unnie is awake. Perfe—”Even though her mind was reeling, her reflexes were still sharp and swift. Her hand darted to wrap around the stranger’s throat, cutting off their words. It was a woman, Joohyun noted then. She tightened her grip. A brunette sitting right by her bed. Young enough to be her age.“Fuck,” the girl spat, closing her eyes. Then, unexpectedly, her lips curled upwards ever so slightly as she dug her teeth in the bottom one. She looked ecstatic – she was.. ? “That’s so hot, unnie.”Joohyun’s brows furrowed at the husky voice but she didn’t falter; even though her stomach tightened at the sight of that sultry expression on the—younger?—girl’s face. “Who are you?”“The person who saved your ass,” she rasped. She looked euphoric.Joohyun didn’t let go. She watched how the brunette’s lips parted with a weird gleam in her eyes. She looked… delighted. And dangerous, noted Joohyun. Because if it wasn’t for the door that sprang open abruptly, or for the woman who came to break off their weird trance, she would’ve killed her and she did nothing to fight her off.“Seulgi! Are you okay?” The blonde with the bangs asked, checking on her friend’s throat hurriedly.“Yeah,” the stranger – Seulgi, then – coughed, sinking in her seat. “Get me some water, Wendy, please.”If it wasn’t for the brunette in a red dress holding her down, Joohyun would’ve quickly made sure she wasn’t okay. She didn’t try anything funny though, they were probably armed and she was injured.“What were you thinking?” The blonde, Wendy, exclaimed. She was scolding her but she did as she was asked and handed her a cup of water from the nightstand. Before that, she flicked Seulgi’s forehead. Hard. “You could have taken her down the moment she thought of going for your throat! What the fuck, Seulgi?”“She’s an idiot, what the hell were you expecting from her?” The brunette clad in red chimed in, her tone playful. She winked, “a kinky one that is.”Joohyun used her opportunities wisely. She ignored the trio in favour of studying her surroundings. Seulgi and Wendy were busy bickering and the third woman looked distracted enough. She could use a hostage to pave her way out of here.Breathe in.
Breathe out.She launched forward and aimed for the brunette’s throat, attempting a chokehold. Joohyun was positive she had her because she knew she was fast. Except, her prey grabbed her arm at the last second. She twisted her wrist successfully and brought another hand to press against her bandaged stomach in threat. Joohyun looked up and found her smirking. Her jaw locked.“Nice try,” she complimented. “The moment you move I’m tearing your stitches apart one by one. Don’t tempt me. I like it when people bleed.”“Sooyoung, enough,” Wendy scolded, not looking the least bit threatened by Joohyun.Well, that made Joohyun even angrier. “Who the hell are you people?”“See? You could just ask, next time. Without trying to go Bruce Lee on people,” Sooyoung’s smirk turned into an honest smile. She patted her stomach like she’d pat a kid’s tummy. “There, there. Our unnie is all safe now.”Joohyun would’ve sent a swing her way if it wasn’t for Seulgi speaking up. “We’re good people.”“Yeah?” She mocked, unimpressed. Their eyes met and they both felt something twist in their chests. “Try again.”“We’re the Korean Intelligence Agency.” It was Sooyoung who spoke this time, her chin resting against her fist as if she was talking to an old friend over tea. “Wanna join? It’s pretty fun to kill people and get paid for it.”Wendy sighed loudly. “What she means is that we’ve watched you fight, and we were greatly impressed.”“No thanks. Not interested,” Joohyun turned down the offer before it was even laid out. She looked away.“I mean,” Sooyoung smiled. “You killed twenty men single-handedly and we have it on tape. So I guess, what we’re saying is: you’re either with us, or you’re rotting in prison till your last breath.”Joohyun pushed herself up on her elbows high enough to glare closely at her. (Her stomach throbbed painfully, the painkillers had long begun wearing off.) She smiled, eyes burning. “I killed twenty-five men single-handedly and I will snap you like a twig.”“God.” Seulgi let out a dreamy sigh as her shoulders slumped down, earning their attention. She looked at Wendy and gushed, beaming ever so happily, “she says the sweetest things, doesn’t she?”Joohyun rolled her eyes.“Okay, guys, enough for a first encounter,” Wendy clasped her hands together and wrapped up their visit. She smiled at the trio. “We’ll talk later. Joohyun-unnie needs to rest well for now.” She began ushering her two friends towards the door, glaring at them whenever they dared protesting. Standing by the doorframe, she turned to their guest with a small smile. “Unnie, I’ll ask the nurses to bring you something for the pain.”The patient watched her as she left the room and closed the door behind her, surprise evident on her features. She was pretty sure she hid her discomfort perfectly, neither did she frown nor groan. But then, these people were government people so of course they’d notice.Of course they were that good. She let out a long growl and curled up into herself. Every inch of her body hurt. __ “20 000 wons on Joy.”“30 000 wons on Seul.”The two male agents looked at each other and smirked, both pretty confident in their bets. Looking back at the ring, they watched as the two women circled it with relaxed bodies. They didn’t look like they were about to spar.“Is your left shoulder doing better?” Seulgi wondered as she finally stopped moving and readied her body into a self-protective position.“Yup, as good as new,” Sooyoung grinned, tapping the said area of her body to prove herself. Her arms flexed, and her feet planted themselves on the floor. “Bring it on.”“Unnie will go easy on you,” the older girl teased, eyes turning into crescents.Sooyoung snorted a second before she took a sprint towards her, jumping high enough to bring her knee to her friend’s jaw. As expected, Seulgi dodged it easily. They paused. This time the older girl attacked first with a series of punches thrown left and right that were avoided expertly. The last swing connected with Sooyoung’s sternum, though, knocking the breath out of her lungs and making her stumble backwards a little.“You’re still letting your chest area unprotected, do something about it,” the more experienced one of the pair scolded, going back to her fighting stance. The younger agent did the same. “Fine,” she mumbled right before going back to it, a yell leaving her throat as she took a jab at Seulgi. In the farthest corner of the big training hall, two figures stood watching. They had a relaxed composure, arms crossed as they admired the sparring match distractedly. “Eunji-unnie, have they always been like this?” Wendy asked the woman beside her. “They never really stop bickering, these two. They’re like kids. Worse.”The older woman merely laughed. “They used to be even more hyper, running around the headquarters and fighting in the hallways,” she shared as she turned to look at her companion. “They’ve quieted down a bit since they met you. I remember that one time they came to my father, excitedly sharing that they wanted to work with you because they thought you were kinda cool. I remember agreeing.”Wendy blushed and sighed, shaking her head, “they were just ridiculous and I wasn’t particularly stellar.”“You were,” Eunji confessed, disconnecting her back from the wall. She let herself put a hand on the blonde’s shoulder and offered her that eye-smile she was known for. “Join me in my office once you’re done here?”The younger woman nodded shyly, appreciating the gesture. “Don’t work too hard, unnie.”“Will do,” the latter acknowledged as she began walking off the hall.Turning her attention to the ring where her two friends fought, Wendy was just in time to catch the sight of Sooyoung as she fell to the ground. She smiled, watching her stand up again like nothing happened, scoffing before throwing a powerful kick Seulgi’s way.“Ah… but they’re the ones I find amazing,” she muttered to herself quietly. __ Joohyun looked at the TV her room was equipped with. They were still in Korea, she figured out. Either that or they purposefully put on the local channels for her to think so. That didn’t make sense, though; why would they do that?Still, she didn’t want to get ahead of herself. If they were careful enough to meticulously furnish the room with no sharp objects and still make it look homey and friendly, they could do anything to waver her.The Korean Intelligence Agency.Seulgi.That girl was nuts, she could’ve sworn. Joohyun was sure she was enjoying herself as she hurt her. She had those half lidded eyes that turned hazy the moment she wrapped her hand around her throat, lips that opened for a moan to leave her for God. Joohyun couldn’t comprehend why that sight turned her on like it did, because she wanted nothing more than to choke her and fucking kiss her.She looked away. She had more pressing matters to attend to. Like leaving this place… preferably alive. She heaved a sigh and leaned back in her bed. Jang Hakyun. Yerim... Why would he kill her? She had no business in the underworld, so why would they kill her? Revenge? To hurt Joohyun?Didn’t they know that Joohyun felt no loss and no grief at all?If they wanted to hurt her, they’d have been more effective stabbing her in the gut.The door clicked open – Joohyun’s reflexes kicked in. She seized the lamp on her nightstand and threw it at the stranger before she even checked who it was.Seulgi.The brunette whistled playfully, looking back at the object that was thrown at her as it rolled on the floor. It was a lamp made of iron so it didn’t break. She turned to look at her like nothing happened, smiling as she did. She had two plastic bags in her hands. She closed the door behind herself.“Hello, Joohyun-unnie!” Seulgi approached her without caution. Joohyun wanted nothing more than to hurt her. “Did you rest well?”She didn’t bother with the generic talks. She watched the girl as she took out two boxes of Chinese food and chopsticks. “Why are you here?”“Isn’t it obvious?” She plopped down on the seat next to the bed, all the while opening the boxes and planting two chopsticks in each. “You didn’t eat anything today, so I thought maybe you could use company. And food. Sooyoung and Wendy have something to take care of so they couldn’t join us.”(By ‘Sooyoung has something to take care of’ she meant: she has to neutralize the suspected assassin hired to kill the prime minister of South Korea.By ‘Wendy has something to take care of’ she meant: well. She was probably getting lucky. Seulgi snickered mentally. With Eunji-unnie.)Joohyun studied her. She could tell the three of them were close friends. If she wanted to get out of here, she had to hold either Sooyoung or Wendy as hostages for Seulgi to lead her out.She took the box offered to her as she sat up, back against the bed’s headboard. A quick look at the plastic bag discarded on the nightstand before looking at the agent in front of her. It had Hangeul on it. “We’re still in Korea, right?”“Yes, that’s not something we’re trying to hide from you,” Seulgi confessed, already munching on a mouthful of noodles. “This is good. You should dig in before it gets cold.”So Joohyun did. She didn’t speak until she swallowed. “I killed Korea’s most sought after bachelor and no news on T.V.? They said it was a tragic death, but they mentioned no investigations.”“You’ve been out cold for five days already. We handled the clean-up,” the agent shared, looking at her dead in the eyes. “You left a bloodbath behind you and we took care of it. Properly. As for Jang Hakyun, it was suicide,” she informed her, crossing her legs and leaning back. She smiled. “He killed himself since he couldn’t handle his father’s death anymore. Sob, sob. Poor boy felt so empty he donated all of his money to equip the schools in the countryside with computers but even that didn’t help him feel better. The loss he felt was just too great, and South Korea mourned him for a week. Truly tragic.”Joohyun digested the news slowly. She nodded to herself. “You guys are used to incidents like this one.”“I guess so. I left a few bloodbaths of my own. But assets of your caliber are rare pearls, so we had to protect you.” Seulgi leaned towards her a bit. “Tell me. Shaolin Wushu*?”The oldest of the pair breathed out, tilting her head quietly. Seulgi had eyes shaped like a cat’s. She was beautiful: long dark waves of perfect brown framing her pretty face in the most dazzling manner. “Kenpō**,” she replied. “Mixed.”“Shit,” the younger girl’s tongue darted to wet her lips. Joohyun followed the movement, hand clenching around the carton on her lap. She wanted to feel her pulse against her fingers again. “That’s hot.”She looked away.Joohyun had to be careful around her. __ Eunji looked at the agent in front of her with a deep frown. She took the cigarette she had between her lips and buried it in her now empty cup of coffee. She was on a date with Wendy when they called her for an urgent briefing.“Is this necessary, Junmyeon?” She asked, leaning back in her seat to glare at him.“It’s the Chief’s orders,” the man shared, looking away. “I’m sorry.”She huffed. “It’s okay. Lying is a part of the job, after all.” Another sigh. “You can leave.”He nodded quietly and left the room. Eunji watched his back disappear behind the door before looking down at the black file on her desk. She shook her head but she wasn’t one to disobey. Slipping her phone from her pocket, she called her girlfriend’s number.Even the sound of her voice didn’t wipe away her worry. __ Wendy knocked on the door twice, not opening until she heard Seulgi’s voice from the other side telling her to come in. She slipped in the room, then, smiling at the two women. They were having dinner, and no one was trying to kill the other.Progress.“Hello, girls,” she greeted. She approached them to sit by Joohyun’s feet on the bed, watching as the woman put the container she was holding on the nightstand. “I see you’re warming up to each other!”Seulgi was about to say something but the injured patient cut her off instantly, “once I can move properly I will strangle you with these bed sheets. All of you.”Of course, Seulgi almost moaned.Wendy merely rolled her eyes. “Anyways. I’m here on official business. Remember my offer?”Joohyun stared at her for a second. “It’s still no.”The blonde handed her the black envelope she was holding and crossed her legs. “We have a better offer though,” she informed. “You work for us for two years and we hand you the name of the person who killed your father. Your real father. We would’ve given you the name of your godfather and sister’s murderer but you already figured that one out.”“You’re not sure Yerim is dead,” Joohyun frowned. “I didn’t see the body.”Wendy looked at her with pity. It made the older woman want to snap her neck. “There’s a… death certificate in that envelope. And a picture of her… corpse. Autopsy reports, too.” She coughed, and looked away. “I wish you’d consider our offer.”Standing up, she put a hand on Seulgi’s shoulder, urging her to leave with her. Seulgi blinked at her but did as she was told – Wendy was her superior, after all. She cleaned up their mess and left a can of beer on the nightstand for good measure. Before following Wendy outside, she looked at Joohyun again. She found her glaring at the envelope silently.Seulgi felt a tug at her heart. __ A ten years old Joohyun grinned as she watched her sister run around happily in their shared bedroom.“I won! I won! I won!” Yerim yelled. “I beat unnie in chess!”“I let you win,” she teased right back. Lately, she’d been teaching Yerim a bit of board games.“No you didn’t!” The younger girl plopped next to her on the bed, enveloping her in a loving hug.“No I didn’t.” Joohyun gave up on the bickering, laughing. She wrapped her arms around her. “I love you.”“I love you more, unnie,” Yerim confessed, humming contentedly. “Let’s stay together forever.”“Yeah.”
