2013. January 19 -part 3- (1/2)
„... and then when everything ended, I just thanked him and left.” finished Heon Woo and everyone laughed around the table, except one person, Imhee. Heon Woo looked at the girl, who was too immersed in watching Jongin stuff his mouth with bread while still laughing at the story, the other told. She thought his smile was beautiful. His frown was beautiful. The way his face lit up, whenever he was explaining something was beautiful. His voice was beautiful. Everything about him was beautiful. He was beautiful.„I invited someone to the party.” the beautiful voice said, making Imhee jolt back to reality at the sudden statement.
„Oh~, could it be a girl?” Heon Woo asked in a sing-sing voice, glancing at Imhee, who just widened her eyes at the question. „It-It's just a friend, right, Jongin?” she asked, panicking.
Friend. „Yeah, I can call him a friend, I guess.”
„The more people the merrier!” joined in Imjong. „By the way, I have a date with Miss „why-did-you-throw-it”, see ya guys~!” he sanged before putting on his jacket and exited the cafeteria.„I have to go too. I have to find the janitor because... err... someone broke our window.” said Jongin, standing up.
„Me too! I wanted to ask the janitor about something too! I will go with you.” Imhee stood up in a flash and followed Jongin out.„Pfft” Heon Woo scoffed at the way Imhee was following Jongin, like a dog and its owner. He felt his stomach turn upside down. „Umm, say, Jongin, do you want to go to the party together?” asked Imhee nervously.
Jongin laughed at her question.”You mean, to the party which going to be at your house? You want to come and pick me up and go back?”
„Ah.. you are right...” Imhee realised the absurdity of her question and felt like digging a hole in the floor and hiding in it for the rest of her life. Her face flushed red and she could hardly keep up with Jongin's long steps. „What will you wear?” she asked again, slightly out of breath.
„Why? Is there a dresscode?”
„I want my dress to match yours.” she said shyly, before Jongin abruptly stopped and caused her to bump into him.„I don't know. I didn't think about it yet, but hey, I have to go in now, I will see you at the party.” he said and went into the office. Oblivious. Since it was a Friday, classes ended early. People were either getting ready for late-night parties or practiced through the night. In Kyungsoo's and Jongin's case, they were spending their Friday night playing a re-match for yesterday's all-time-winner position. The rules were: winner takes all. It meant that, whoever won now, would call the other „hyung” and do whatever the other tells them. Since Jongin really didn't like the fact that someone as tiny and child-like as Kyungsoo would be older than him, he did his best to get the highest score.„I WON!!!!” Jongin cheered with his hands in the air, dropping the controller and standing up, dancing a little.„I don't think so.” Kyungsoo replied quickly, before his car reached the finish line and his name appeared on the monitor with congratulatory fireworks. „I won.”
Jongin freeze in mid-dance and his jaw fell. „W-w-wha- but I won! I reached finish before you!! I clearly won!!”
„Yeah, you reached finish but you were supposed to pass every checkpoint on the map. You barely managed to get 6 out of 18.”
„Wha-but-”
„It's okay, little one, hyung will take good care of you.” Kyungsoo patted Jongin on the head and laughed. He was cute when he laughed, the younger thought. „You wash the dishes tonight Jonginnie.” teased Kyungsoo and ran to his room to avoid Jongin throwing pillows at his face.
Friends... It seems like Jongin has made a new friend. The next day Jongin woke up to the sound of a piano playing in the background. It was the same melody he heard that day he locked himself out the building. Or more like, the day he broke his roommate's window. He hid his face into the pillow at the shameful memory. The sun rays shining through his windows lit up the room and he shut his eyes close in order to close out the bright light. He looked at his side and checked the time on his phone: 3 pm. He slowly got out of bed and stretched his body. He felt like he didn't sleep more than a few minutes eventhough he had slept through half the day. He still had 3 hours to get ready before Imjong's party, so he took his time and went out to grab a few snacks from the fridge but fortunately, a delicious looking sandwich waited for him on the counter. It reminded him of his crush in kindergarten. He remembered her playing with sand, pretending that she was baking cookies and how many times she left him sand-meals on the wooden table in the Barbie house which was apparently their „newlywed” house at that time. Jongin smiled at the memory. „Kyungso could make a really good bride-to-be if he was a girl.” he thought, taking a bite of the food the older prepared. After finishing his brunch, he went to his room to find something to wear to the party. He took out a black dress shirt and black skinny jeans with a fancy belt and put them on his bed neatly. After taking a long shower, he dressed up and was ready to go. He met Kyungsoo in the hallway for the first time that day. He was wearing a black shirt with a white wolf pattern on it with a black jacket and dark colored jeans. He looked at Jongin and smiled, pointing at their outfit. „We are matching.” Jongin laughed at the way he made it sound like and grabbed his keys.
„I have to go back to class. I forgot some notes in the classroom. I will be late.” said Kyungsoo, putting on his shoes.
„It's okay, I will see you then.” Jongin replied and went out the door with hurried steps to catch the bus in time. Loud music was on and drunk people were dancing and grinding against each other in the dimly lit rooms; on the tables and counters, red and blue paper cups were lying next to empty and half empty glasses of alcohol. A few couples, who got caught in the heat of the moment, locked themselves up in one of the bedrooms on the second floor. The not-so-shy ones simply made out in the hallways or on the couches in the rooms. There even were people on the balcony just talking and smoking, eventhough it was freezing cold outside at this time of the month. There was an elevator too, which brought you to a basement which was more of a game-room. It had a bar and pool tables, and gym equipment. In the middle of it all was a big swimming pool where a few people were playing tag or simply splashed water at girls on the side. Everything was fancy and Jongin felt like, even from the huge mansion alone his jaw could drop to the floor, but all the fancy food and the party mood was enough to make his head spin.
„Jongin!” called a girl and hugged him from behind. Jongin turned around and flaked the girl's hands off of him.
„Imhee, you must have drank a lot already.” he said while he shoved her hair away from her face.
