Chapter 7 (1/1)
Chapter Song >> Someone Like You [Taehyung's version Here]It's dark. Jungkook can barely see where he is going. It's a mystery how he manages to walk down the stairs and straight to the kitchen when he can't see nearly anything. Thank God, Soojung has fallen asleep. His girlfriend has been making him feel so suffocated ever since they arrived at the island, it is as if she is trying to make Taehyung jealous. And she actually seems to be succeeding so far. Noy only he has to bear with Soojung's whines, he has to deal with a pissed off and cocky Taehyung too! He pours himself a glass of water, leaning against the counter as he gazes outside the open balcony door. He should have never agreed to follow the family to the island. He shouldn't be there. They shouldn't be there. He should be at Seoul, working on getting promoted while planning his wedding with Soojung. He should be getting married, that's what he should be doing. He is supoosed to be unconditionally in love with his girlfriend, not checking out Taehyung every time he passes by. Things are different. After breaking up with Taehyung, Jungkook caught himself multiple times wondering what had gotten into him that day. What were those things he had said to his ex lover. Most importantly, were they true? Partly, yes, they were. He was indeed afraid of Taehyung when he got mad and that had started when the older found out about Park Jimin. Jungkook chuckles lightly upon remembering the redhead. Probably one of the nicest people he has ever met in his life. Yet, no matter how nice Jimin had been to him, it doesn't change the fact that Jungkook played him, that he used and manipulated him. Incredibly immature of him. He shakes his head with a sigh, already feeling his face heat up due to the embarassment of his actions in the past. Soft music playing somewhere in the house snaps him out of the torturing thoughts and he glances at the kitchen door with a questioning frown. He hurries to put the bottle of water back in the fridge, trying to be as silent as possible. Grabbing the glass from the counter, he then follows the mellodic sounds that finally lead him to the living room. Quietly, he gazes in the large living room space where a familiar mop of dirty blonde hair catches his eye and unconsciously he hides behind the wall. For a second he feels like running away, but just as he is about to comply, he hears Taehyung muttering something softly. "No, don't worry about it, I wasn't asleep," he hears him whisper. The depressing song in the background gives away an equally sad vibe, sending goosebumps allover Jungkook's skin, "You can't sleep either?" Taehyung asks the caller, "Again?" he continues, suddenly sounding worried. Jungkook grips the glass of water tightly in his hands, listening very carefully, not wanting to miss a single word. An unfamiliar feeling is pooling in his chest, making him want to know who is Taehyung talking to so gently and caringly. "When we return, I will take you to the doctor, okay? Try to sleep, please," the man pleads concerned. Then the song comes to an end and Jungkook can feel his heart clench, "I love you very much, I'll be back soon." Is he talking to Hoseok? Is it Hoseok the person he loves so much? He rolls his eyes, turning to leave as soon as Taehyung hangs up. But his legs aren't moving. He doesn't feel like going back to Soojung. He knows it is wrong, but he can't help it, that's how he feels that moment. Thinking about it for a brief second, he deems that, honestly, it is actually about time he and Taehyung talk. He turns towards the living room instead, taking long, determined steps. Another song starts playing, a more upbeat rhythm that time, but it is very silent, it doesn't gives him any confidence boost like it is probably supposed to do. He hears Taehyung sigh right before he is in full-sight and he resists the urge to run away. He is only in his boxers and a random gray shirt, maybe he shouldn't show up in such state. Yet, no, he is not going to back out. He is not a coward. Taehyung has seen him naked thousands of times, anyway. With one last step towards the couch he reveals himself. Taehyung is emotionlessly staring at the ceiling, his arms lazily crossed on his chest. The moonlight is falling gracefully on his face, defining his characteristics even further. He gulps once, his jawline clenching tightly, before his gaze lands on Jungkook at last. The younger visibly shudders as their eyes lock. Taehyung is sad, his eyes are sad. He realizes then that the older is acting. It's all an act, in't it? The usual smirk spreads across his lips as he turns to fully look at Jungkook, "Oh, hey." he greets casually, his labret piercing shining on the moonlight as he offers a half smile. What he doesn't get is that he completely unconsciously, he annoys Jungkook. He really does. Taehyung's easy-going tactic is annoying the life out of Jungkook. He desperately wants to draw some emotion out of his hyung. If Taehyung is angry, he wants him to start beating someone up. If he is sad, he wants to see him cry his eyes out. If he is happy, he wants to simply see him laugh. Genuinely. Jungkook chuckles and looks around, not sure if he can actually handle the situation. "Yah, sit down, I don't bite," Taehyung urges, patting the empty space on the couch beside him. Jungkook stares at him for a second, unable to wipe the smile off his face, "Unless you want me to." the older jokes, making Jungkook give in and take a seat next to him. "Shut up." Jungkook says with a small laugh. He mimicks the other's previous position and aimlessly stares at nowhere in particular. Taehyung follows suit, laughing his own cockiness off, "I see you're finally done." he points out, only managing to earn a confused look from the latter. "What do you mean?" Jungkook asks as he angles his head to look at the blonde. Taehyung brings a crystal glass to his lips, full of lots of ice and probably whiskey, and only then Jungkook realizes that Taehyung has been holding it the whole time, "Why would I be awake at nearly 5 a.m. unless something had been keeping me from falling asleep, Jungkook?" he asks with a suggsstive glare before gulping down the remaining light brown liquid, grimacing as it burns its way down his esophagus. "Oh," Jungkook chuckles awkwardly. It isn't his fault Soojung decided that she likes screaming when they're having sex, "Sorry, Soojung is a bit stressed out and it seems like sex i
