Kai grumbled a string of cursings the next morning when he felt the sun burning his bare back “Fuck.” He turned his face away from the sun before he slowly attempted to open his tired eyes “Kyungsoo.” He said hoping she’d hear him. “Yes dominus?” came Kyungsoo’s reply moments later. “Close the curtains, I do not wish to be blinded nor burned by that god forsaken ball of fire.” He grumbled. Kyungsoo smiled with a small chuckle as she did as she was told, moving from the doorway of Kai’s room over to the balcony where she pulled the crimson curtain across the opening “There.” She said once finished “Can I get you something to eat or drink dominus?” she then asked. “Water. I need water.” Kyungsoo gave a small nod before leaving the room and making her way downstairs to the kitchen to fetch him a glass of water from the well water she’d brought in earlier that morning. Meanwhile, upstairs still lying in bed, Kai tried his best not to fall back asleep, he felt oddly relaxed and it wasn’t until he heard her soft approaching footsteps did he remember what he’d asked her to do for him. He simply sighed closing his eyes. “Your water dominus.” She said putting the glass on the wooden stand beside his bed. But when he didn’t move she frowned “Dominus, Legatus Chanyeol and Domina Baekhyun will be arriving shortly, it would be best if you retired from bed and got ready.” That got a reaction, Kai propped himself up on his elbows as he turned to look at her “Excuse me?” “You heard me dominus, Domina Baekhyun won’t hesitate to push you off this bed and dress you herself if she arrives and you are not presentable for the day you have planned with Legatus Chanyeol.” She said. Kai stared at her for a moment before chuckling dropping his head “No wonder Baekhyun likes you so much.” He said “Fetch me fresh clothes for the day and lay them on the bed once you’ve finished.” Kyungsoo smiled “Of course dominus.” She said obviously pleased with herself. Kai rolled his eyes as he got up and made his way to the bath in the connecting room next to his bedroom. He was out of the bedroom before Kyungsoo returned with his clothes, also setting out a glass of water before she went about her daily chores. She had to admit, it was rather nice being the only one there, it was easier for things to get done, yes it took longer, but Kyungsoo liked doing things her way, it made her happier and also gave her a sense of accomplishment that she was able to do it. Kai was a nice man, he wasn’t like other men she’s met and she didn’t mind it. He wasn’t necessarily different, he was like most of Legatus’s Chanyeol’s friends she’s served in the past couple years. Young, strong, attractive, and had power. Next to Kai, her favorite of Legatus’s Chanyeol’s friends would be Dominus Joonmyun. He was nice, both he and his wife Yixing were soft spoken and very polite to everyone. Yixing had treated Kyungsoo much like a friend when she was visiting, she and Baekhyun always wanted her around when they got the chance. Sooner rather than later, Dominus Baekhyun and Legatus Chanyeol arrived and while Chanyeol dragged Kai off somewhere, Baekhyun wanted to stay on the estate walking around and talking. “How is Kai?” Baekhyun asked taking a seat on the ledge of the fountain in the garden. Kyungsoo sat down with her “He is fine, he doesn’t speak much.” She answered. Baekhyun chuckled “But that doesn’t bother you does it, you like it to be quiet.” Kyungsoo gave a guilty giggle “Yes Dominus, I do indeed.” Baekhyun gave a fond smile “Had he asked anything of you yet?” Kyungsoo looked at Baekhyun somewhat confused, of course he’d asked things of her, but in what context was her question pertaining to? “Not usual things like fetching things.” Kyungsoo then nodded “He asked of me to relax his back last night, he fell asleep shortly after.” She said softly thinking about the previous night rather fondly. “Is that it?” Kyungsoo nodded and Baekhyun gave a smile and curt nod “Good.” “Domina, may I ask you something?” Kyungsoo then said softly after a few moments. Baekhyun looked at Kyungsoo surprised “Of course.” “Do you and Legatus Chanyeol plan on having children?” Baekhyun smiled as she pursed her lips reaching down playing with the water with her delicate hands “I have not brought up to subject to be perfectly honest.” She gave a small sigh “I wish to have children of my own of course, I love them, but Chanyeol is different, he can be short tempered sometimes and I feel like a child would do that to him. Also, we’re still young and have a little time left.” Kyungsoo nodded “I hope you decide to.” “I do too, I just have yet to talk to Chanyeol about it.” “You have yet to talk to me about what?” Chanyeol’s deep voice then interjected. The two women looked to see Kai and Chanyeol walking up to them and Baekhyun gave a smile shaking her head slightly “It’s nothing love, we will talk later.” Chanyeol smiled softly at her, leaning down kissing her lips gently before standing back up “You missed quite the practice, the new recruits came in today, I showed Kai just how great my gladiators are.” He chuckled.
