The List xvifeel 91490K 2023-11-02

Hello! First of all, as you can see in the title, yes, this is the last and final chapter. I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to each and every single one of you for reading this work of mine. Although my words and vocabulary are not enough to describe it, I hope you, the readers, can feel how grateful I am for your support. I started 'The List' without even thinking further. It was another story I wrote out of impulse. So honestly speaking, I wasn't planning on reaching this far. As some of you may have know, I "ghosted" this fic for a long time, and it took a while before a new chapter was posted. Because, like I said, I wasn't planning on reaching this far. But here we are now, on our last chapter. If you had waited this far, I want to thank you so so much again. I will never stop saying how thankful I am. Considering that this is my first finished fic that's not a one shot, it feels very overwhelming, but strange at the same time.  In the future, I will try my very best to improve for everyone who's still willing to read my future works. However, I am extremely sad to say that after I finish 'The List', I will be publishing one last one shot before I take a break on writing in aff as I need to focus more on my studies. But I'll come back, somehow. Again, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all. I hope you enjoy. -12 Notice:  the list: the one with the list (final) will take place right after the scenes from the list: the one where yujin finally scores her goal.  Yujin and Minju layed comfortably on the clean field, letting the sunshine get into them as they enjoy each other's company like this. It was silent and calming, until Yujin's phone suddenly made a noise, indicating that someone had call her. She took it, looked at the caller id, and saw that it was Hyewon who called, so she answers it. "Ya! Where the hell are you? The party's about to start. The whole team's already here, we can't start without our mvp!" "Chill, I'm still at school." "Well hurry up! So we can get this party started." "Okay geez. But you need to calm down." "I am. And oh, Minju's also not here, I assume she's with you?" "Yeah, she is." "Great. Now hurry up!" The call ended and she placed the phone back to where it originally belongs. Facing Minju, she says, "We need to go, your sister's itching to start the party." Minju chuckled and stood up, offering her hand for Yujin to held onto for support. "Come on, let's go." "Did you bring your car?" "Nope. Mr. Yang was supposed to pick me up but I asked him to go home and rest when I went here." "Okay. Let's go now." she took her bag and placed the ball right where it belongs, turning around to see Minju walking behind her. She walked backwards and stopped to where the latter was, holding her hand. "Come." They both smiled as they made their way to the parking lot, hands intertwined. - "Oh! There she is! Miss mvp!" the two were greeted by Yena's loud voice as they enter the Chou Household. "Oh-ho~ What's with the intertwined hands huh?" Chaeyeon teased but Yujin just shrugged it off. "Dear sister, I'm sorry to say this, but Yujin is ours for today." the older Chou said and held the younger's arm. Minju laughed a bit, nodding her head. "Sure thing, I'll just go find the others" She made her way to their house and found the rest of their friends hanging out in the poolside area, her cousin also present. "Unnie, what took you so long?" Wonyoungie asked as soon as she saw her cousin. "Just had to do something." "So, we saw you and Yujin come in together, hands intertwined, what's that supposed to mean huh?" Nako asked with suspicion present in her voice. "Girl what are you saying, they're always like that." Hitomi rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah, my bad. Guess you guys still don't have any progress." "Actually..." she trailed off which caught the others' attention. "Oh my gosh, don't tell me..." Yuri was shocked upon realizing it. "You guys are together now?! She finally asked?" With Minju's constant nodding, the other girls started squealing, getting the attention of the other people that were also in the poolside. They smiled shyly at the attention and bowed apologetically. Meanwhile, inside, right where you can see the poolside, four girls were looking at Yujin weirdly, and spared a glance towards the squealing group of people in the poolside, and back to Yujin again. "What the hell did you do to my sister?" Hyewon asked intently, eyes never leaving the younger. "What are you saying? I did nothing." she answered with a shrugged. "They wouldn't react that way to what Minju said if you did nothing." she said, as a matter of fact. "I just, scored my goal." she answered with a smile. "You what?" the others asked in confusion. "I asked her to be my girlfriend, she told me to score my goal then she'll give me her answer." "And so? What happened?" "I did it, I scored my goal. And now, she's my girlfriend." her smile only grew wider when her friends started cheering. "No way? So you're saying my sister's now your girlfriend." "Right you are sister-in-law."  Hyewon's face grimaced making the others laugh. "Woah, don't call me that just yet. You're only her girlfriend, you guys ain't getting married." "Not yet, my friend. Not yet."  Honestly, at this point, Yujin's just teasing her best friend, knowing how protective Hyewon is when it comes to her sister. "Ya!" the throw pillow landed straight into Yujin's face, finally making her stop laughing. She threw the pillow back to Hyewon and that's when the two started running around the house, reaching the poolside where Yujin hid behind Minju's back, hiding from Hyewon who was more than ready to throw the pillow straight to her. "Min-ah, save me." she pleaded. "Oh no way I'm gonna get involved in this. Good luck, Yujinie."  "Nice decision, dear sister. I've taught you well." she ruffled her sister's hair before grabbing Yujin from the back, jumping into the pool with her. "Hey!" Yujin exclaimed and threw the flamingo floatie towards Hyewon's direction. The older's eyes widened when it hit her face and threw it back to the younger. They kept going on and on when they heard a voice spoke. "Look at that, they're fighting like kids." Chaewon said and shook her head. "Ya! Kiddos, stop fighting. Your parents aren't here to stop you." Yena teased as she kept splashing water towards the two. "I can't believe you two are dating them." Chaeyeon laughed, looking at Eunbi and Minju. Hyewon and Yujin gave a brief look towards each other before looking back up to the other three, now with a smirk. Upon seeing the way the other two are looking at them, their eyes widened in realization. "Quick! Run! Before they-" Yena said as the three of them quickly tried running away from the two but failed when Hyewon and Yujin held them, pulling them into the pool. Now all three of them are flapping on the pool like kids playing in summer. They kept splashing water towards each other while fighting over the big swan floatie.  "Hey buddy, back off, the swan is mine." Chaewon said as she hid behind the swan, holding it tighter from behind. "That's unfair, let me borrow." Yena whined and pursed her lips. "You can't use that on me ducky, that has no effect on me. I'm not Yuri." "Hey!" Yuri exclaimed with Chaewon chuckling at her. They continued playing around the pool, just splashing water towards each other here and there when Eunbi called them out. "That's enough playing you big babies, go dry yourselves up and get changed, it's too cold for you guys." Eunbi, Minju, Yuri, Sakura, and even Wonyoung, gave towels to the five of them respectively. Yujin pouted when Minju started drying her hair up a bit, ruffling it. "Stop pouting." Minju said. "Come on, you need to change. Go to my room and do it there." "But I didn't bring any clothes?" "You can borrow unnie's. Now come on, it's getting cold." The latter dragged her inside the house and towards her room, shoving her inside the bathroom.Minju just sat there on her study table, reading her favorite book while she was waiting for Yujin to finish. She already gave the clothes Yujin needed for changing so now she's just waiting for her to change. When Yujin finished, she went out and dried her hair, calling Minju. "Hey, I'm done." "Yeah, for a minute, I'll just finish reviewing my term paper." "What term paper? We have one?" Minju turned to her and gave her a stern look, raising her eyebrows. "Yoo Yujin, don't tell me you didn't do it? It's due next week." Yujin chuckled, a nervous one if I might add, and went closer to her. "What? Please, of course I did." However, Minju just kept her eyebrows raised. "Okay fine, I started it but I wasn't able to finish the last part." "Well you need to." "Yes, Mom." Minju's ears perked at the way she called her. "What did you just call me?" Yujin laughed upon seeing Minju's shocked expression. "You're acting like my mom right now." "Yoo Yujin." "I was kidding, geez." Yujin said and sat on the bed, still drying her hair and letting Minju do her own thing. When she was done reviewing, she went behind Yujin and took the towel from her. "Wha-" "Let me. You've been drying your hair for a while now yet it's still so wet, clearly you didn't do it properly." "Hey, that's mean." she pouted. "Oh please. Now come closer." Yujin obliged and went closer to her as Minju started drying her hair. "You know, I just realized, this is the first time I ever went inside your room." she said in realization. "No, it's not." "Yes it is." Yujin argued back. "You never let me in your room even before when we were kids." "That's because you and Hyewon unnie are always too loud, I want peace you know." "Yeah, but with a sister like Hyewon, I doubt you ever got that." "And I think I won't be able to have it still, especially if you have a  loud and giant puppy for your girlfriend." Yujin pouted again just like earlier. "Don't worry bubby, you're cute." "I know I am, but I know someone who's even cuter than me."  "And who may that be, Yoo Yujin?" the tone of voice she used was stern and serious. "Just someone around here. In fact, she's drying my hair right now." Yujin was taken aback when Minju suddenly slapped her shoulder, it even made a sound. "Ouch, that hurts." "I'm sorry baby. I didn't mean to." Yujin's frowning face was replaced by a wide goofy smile when she heard the endearment Minju used to call her. "Did you just call me baby?" "What? No." "I swear I heard you calling me baby." "I must've did it unconciously." "Still, you called me baby." the taller stood up. "Call me that again, it sounds nice." Minju smirked, "No, I won't do that." the taller's jaw dropped and started sulking. "Come on Yoo Yujin, your hair's not that dry yet." "I won't go near you unless you call me baby again." she continued sulking. "Come on, big baby." "No, still won't. Do it properly." Minju happily sighed and went near Yujin, looping the towel around the taller's neck. "Baby." Yujin broke out into a smile. "There, better." Minju mirrored the same smile she has on right now and stared deeply into Yujin's eyes. "You look so beautiful right now, you're making it harder for me to stop myself from kissing you."  With Yujin's sudden confession, Minju's smile grew bigger. "Do it. No one's really stopping you from doing it." "Fine, maybe I will." "Then do it, baby." Yujin slowly inched closer to her, holding her waist in place while caressing Minju's cheeks with her free hand. Minju closed her eyes as Yujin was getting closer. Just when they were only an inch apart, the door to Minju's room opened wide revealing Nako, Chaewon and Wonyoung. "Oh good God what on earth are you two doing." they immediately separated from each other as they hear Nako's shocked voice, Chaewon covering Wonyoung's eyes in the process. "Unnie, I'm not a baby." "Hush little one." Wonyoung rolled her eyes when Chaewon just laughed at her and held her pinkie. "What the hell guys? We were waiting for you to come down and we see this?" "Look, it's not what it looks like." Yujin explained but Nako was quick to cut her off. "Oh please, I wasn't born yesterday. Get yourself together and come downstairs. And no funny business." Yujin turned into a sulking puppy when the three walked out and Minju now laughing at her. "Come on, let's go downstairs." "But Min-" "Do you really want Nako to come back up here?" the taller shook her head. "Let's go." They held hands going downstairs, their friends already teasing them because apparantly, news spread quick. Yeah. - Weeks after the soccer team's final game for the season, it was now the theater club's time to shine. The spring musical, the last performance for the school year, they've worked hard to make this last one for the school year great, and also to honor Sakura's last term as their club president. "Chop chop everyone! 10 minutes till show time! Everyone should be prepared already. Leads, are you all good now?" Lia asked as she held onto the clipboard, flipping it to check everything. "Yes." both her and Yeji answered. "Perfect. Please proceed to the backstage and standby there." the two nodded and both did what was said. "You nervous, Minju?" "A bit, but I'm fine. How about you? I'm sure you're already used to all of this huh? Considering the amount of plays you've starred in. "Yeah, you could say that. But considering this is my last one, I'm hella nervous." "Well do good." she smiled. "We will." "1 minute till show time! Please standby!" "30 seconds!" "10 seconds till show time!" "Everyone, break a leg."  The last thing everyone heard when the big red curtains opened wide, revealing a huge crowd. Here it goes. - "I choose you too, Jung Hyejin." the moment Yeji said the last line, the red curtains fell right back briefly for them to fix themselves before lifting it up again. There they saw the crowd giving them a standing ovation, clapping and cheering their hearts out. The members of the play held hands together and bowed, together with Ryujin, Lia, Sakura, and the other people behind the very successful play. Once the play ended and Minju finished changing into comfortable clothes, she went to where her family and friends were who welcomed her with praises. "Princess, you did amazing." the head of the Chou household welcomed her youngest daughter with a big hug and a kiss on her forehead. "Thanks, Mama." she smiled and hug back before going to her Mom. "Darling, my little Minmin, Mommy's beyond proud of you." Sana kissed her check and gave her a really warm hug. "Awe, thanks Mommy. I'm glad you could come today." "We almost didn't, but your sister convinced us that it would mean the world to you if we come watch. So here we are, for our princess." Minju pouted, her eyes watering when she turned to her older sister who was now grinning at her, arms wide open waiting for her hug. "Unnie." Hyewon engulfed her into a hug, caressing her hair.  "You did well, little sis. Unnie's proud of you." Hyewon heard felt the person in her arms sniffing, a part of her shirt now wet. "Are you crying? Ya?" She looked at Minju's face who was now shedding tears. Hyewon chuckled and ruffled her hair, wiping her tears. "Don't cry will you? You look ugly when you cry." Minju's expression quickly changed into an annoyed one and retreated her hands that Hyewon was holding. "Aish." "Go to them, I'll go talk Mama and Mom first." Minju went to her friends who engulfed her into a group hug, just like that time when she got confirmed to play the role. "Congratulations, Minju-ya!" they greeted all together. Minju smiles at this, "Thank you so much guys." She stay rooted to her place when she felt a nudge from her side. It was Wonyoung. "Unnie." she pointed Yujin. "Go to Yujin unnie, I can tell she's really proud of you." She nodded and smiled at her cousin before going to Yujin. "Hey." the taller greeted with a grin. Minju hugged her immediately which shocked Yujin but nevertheless still hugged her back. "Congratulations, baby. You did really, really well, and I'm proud of you. I know how hard you prepared for this." "Thank you, Yujin." Yujin broke the hug and looked at her with a pout. "Yujin? Who's Yujin? I don't know who that is." The shorter girl shook her head at her girlfriend's silliness before kissing her cheeks. "Thank you, baby." "There you go, better." "Tsk.""Hey, you two stop being all sweet and cringey for a sec and listen to what I have to say." Hyewon got their attention and continued. "I asked Mom and Mama if we could have a sleepover in the house and they said yes!" They cheered as they went outside the auditorium, still throwing a million different praises towards Minju. - At the Chou Household, the group of 12 friends were preparing for their sleepover, gathered around the living room to watch a movie. Yujin was supposed to sit next to Minju when Nako beat her to it.  "Can you two like, separate from each other for just a moment? Yujin sit beside Chaewon unnie and I sit beside Minju, there. Goodbye." Minju laughed out loud at Yujin's look of rejection and was sulking on her place. The movie started just like that as they settled in. - Minju's inside her room, too focused on her paper when she heard the door opened. "I see you've been busy." "And you're not? This is due tomorrow, just to remind you." "Oh, that? I'm done." Yujin smugly said and sat on the couch opposite to her study table. "Well okay, Miss Soccer Player. Now don't disturb me." Yujin obliged and just proceeded to minding her own business while Minju continued revising her paper. Upon minding her own business, a piece of paper caught her attention so she picks it up from the floor and opened it thinking it was just another one of Minju's scratch works. "Finally! I'm done!" she exclaims and drops the pen on her table while she faces Yujin. "Okay, I'll give you attention no- what's that?" Rather than answering, Yujin diverts her attention from the paper, now looking at Minju with a teasing smirk. "Hm, I don't know if I'm being delusional or something, but the characteristics on this list is somewhat familiar." Immediately, Minju's eyes widened in shock and takes the sheet of paper away from the taller. Her eyes grew even wider when she read what was written on it. Minju's THE LIST Taller than me

Friendly

Kind

Can sing and play instruments

Funny

Has dimples "Wha-What are you talking about?" she nervously asked. "Hmm, let's see." Yujin acted like she was thinking before continuing. "Taller than you? Check. Friendly? Check. Kind? Kinda check. Can sing and play instruments? You know that's a check? Funny? Mega check? Has dimples? Do you even need to ask? Just take a look yourself."  Minju's cheeks became flushed as she refuses to look into Yujin's eyes. "I'm not being delusional, right? That list fits me, doesn't it?" "It doesn't just fit you, stupid. You are "the list"." they both hear voice made it's way inside the room. "Unnie!" "I'm sorry, Mom told me to bring you guys some snacks so here it is." she handed the tray full of snacks. "I'm leaving now, continue your talk. And oh by the way, Yujin, what I said was true." Hyewon ran outside the room before Minju could even throw the pillow at her. "What did Hyewon meant when she said I am "the list"?" Minju groaned and continued to hide her blushing face. "Hey, look at me please." At the tone Yujin used, Minju knew she was a goner, and had no choice but to tell Yujin the truth. "Fine, there's no point in hiding anyway." Minju fixed her posture before facing the taller. "Listen closely, okay? I'm only saying this once." "Why does it seem like were gossiping." Yujin joked. "I said listen."  "Okay, okay." she payed attention when Minju whined. "Now tell me." "It's true what Hyewon unnie said. The list is based from you and your traits." "But how? But didn't you wrote than long before we happened?" "I-I-uhm...you see....I...I liked you before." "You..liked me before?" Yujin didn't know if what Minju was saying right now is true or she's just playing with her. "In grade school, until we were in middle school. You were just so..dreamy, and kind, and sweet. You always took care of me and protected me back then whenever unnie would tease me. You would also make sure to fetch me at our house since you know unnie always leaves early back then. So without realizing, I started crushing on you. One thing lead to another, I started liking you. But that changed when we were in middle school and you suddenly left me on our second year. You left and came back when high school started. When you did, you were starting to annoy me and kept teasing me endlessly. I wanted to kick your foot just to make you stop." The taller was utterly speechless at the sudden new information that was revealed and couldn't really process everything yet. Minju then started talking again. "That's when I realized that I felt more annoyed at you compared to the feeling I felt before. That's how I made the list of what my ideal type should be." "And you made that list thinking of me?" Yujin teased once again. "Mayhaps I did." Minju answered and rolled her eyes. "I'm sorry for annoying you back then. I..you were paying less attention to me compared to before so I thought annoying you would work. Apparently it did." "It's okay, I got used to it eventually." "Should I be less annoying now?" "No, it's okay." Minju smiled warmly. "I love this side of you now." Yujin tried holding back her smile but gave in seconds after. "Now do you understand why I didn't want you to worry about the list? You didn't need to match it, because the list is you. You're THE LIST, Yoo Yujin. You know why? Because you're my ideal type." "You're my ideal type too, you know. I just don't have a list to prove it." Yujin joked as they engulfed each other's warmth, feeling secured and contented with where they are now.  Turns out, Minju's list wasn't at all forgotten. Because now, she has Yoo Yujin, the person behind the list.   END.
