Yoboseyo (1/2)
Tomorrow everything would end; my high school life would officially end.
And not having a job didn’t make anything easier. I’ve tried to search on the Internet and then in magazines after work. But I couldn’t find any. Either it was too far away from where I lived or that they wanted someone with a University diploma. It seemed like the last one was something I’d never achieve, unfortunately.
After lifting the lid off of the pot I fished up the noodles and put them in a bowl, before bringing it together with a pair of chopsticks and a glass of water over to the living room table. And even though noodles weren’t my favorite food it tasted alright.
I switched on the television and watched some sort of variety program. But after all while that became boring so I put on a movie. A horror movie to be exact, I weren’t too fond of romance movies anymore. Somehow I wanted to torture myself a bit and knowing that I easily got afraid by watching horror movies so that was the easiest way.
Halfway through the chainsaw massacre, I heard a light knock on the outer door, which caused me to tense. I gulped down on my saliva and started to think if I had locked to door or not. Just in case the person was trying to barge in. I waited and waited. But nothing happened. Maybe it wasn’t someone who was out to kill me after all.
I slowly, ever so slowly got up on my feet’s and tip-toed over to the door before I carefully unlocked the door and opened it.
“Huh?”
No one where there.
Curiosity took the better of me and I found myself sticking out my head through the door, just In case someone was there, but no. It was empty. And as I where about to take a step forward something came into my view.
It was a package lying there.
The package itself was a huge black shiny box with a letter slid under a light pink bowtie. After picking it up I slid the letter out and saw that it was nicely written ‘Iseul’ in roman letters. I took a hasty glance around the surroundings. Just in case.
But no, I still couldn’t see anyone so I brought the package with me and closed the door before locking it again as I then stared down at the package in my hands.
*Hm I wonder what it is, but it isn’t my birthday today* I though as I placed it down next to the bowl with noodles. But then again, no one knew where I lived, besides MyungSoo and In Ae. MyungSoo, had he been here? No, it had to be In Ae who felt sorry for me.
Yes, that had to be it.
