Midnight (1/1)

It's midnight."How convenient," Junhyung thinks. She always liked midnight; she always wanted to stay up past the middle of the night, probably because of her schedule. She's never fall asleep till four in the morning, and sleep till eleven. His body clock had synced with hers, he'd manage more though, sleeping a little earlier, so he could go to work. She had her bed by her veranda of her high apartment; she could always see the sky."Let's get a telescope," she'd say, "So we're not that bored, and we get the perfect seats for stargazing.""Okay..." Junhyung cooed, he was so tired he normally just agreed to everything she said. They did get a telescope in the end and a constellation book so they could figure them out. They'd lay on her bed, side by side, and peek through the tube. She picked out her favourite, her star sign, and she told him she'd memorise his star sign, so she could remember him when she missed him. Hyesu got so embarrassed for saying something so cheesy; she avoided looking him in the eyes. "No, you're gonna tease me about it! Ahhh-""I won't I promise," he said, but he was ready to tease her away till her cheeks were so red that he could cook a meal on them. His hands wrapped around hers, pulling her on top of him.Her hands hung on his shirt, their foreheads bumping. Hyesu's cheek were in fact quite hot, he could feel the heat from the small gap between their faces. His hands held her neck, as his lips reached up to hers. That was then. That was when she wasn't gone because he had broken her heart. That was when time went by so quickly. That was when he was hers and she was his.But now all Junhyung had was a head full of regret, could have been's, should have been's, would have been's.His head tips to the bedside table, the constellation book sits there like a stranger. He reaches for it, his arm barely even touching it. He heaves out a heavy sigh, his mind is a mess, like a knot. It's filled with thoughts of her, her smile, her eyes, her voice, her warmth. He doesn't even know how his fondness of her had grown to such a great magnitude. He feels tired. His eyes shut close, and tries letting his body go lax.But what was he hoping for? That he'd just fall asleep, even though that's what he's been trying to do for the past month and a half. His mind runs back to the mental comfort that memories with Hyesu harbour, like a lost child finding its mother. He wonders what she's up to. Whether she's still hung over him, or if she's got a feather-light conscience that allows her to sleep oh so blissfully. He hopes the least is she that still thinks about him.The least when she looks up to the sky, as she promised. At least.
