[1] Blood Money (1/1)
"You should totally buy that." Sojin grinned as I stepped out of the dressing room. "You look hot." "You think Jae-oppa will like it?" I worried, twirling in front of the mirror. "I'm sure he'll like taking it off even more..." Hyeri commented cheekily. I whirled around and gave her a playful slap on her arm, causing my four friends to giggle. "I'm just saying, what's underneath your wedding dress is just as important!" She defended herself lightly as she browsed through a rack of sexy lingerie. "What do you think girls? Firy red or sensual pink?""What about white?" Minah suggested, holding up a white lace number. "It screams 'I'm a virgin - take me now.'""Your all filthy!" I laughed as I stepped back into the changing room and stripped off my wedding dress. "I doubt he'll care what's underneath." "You're right." Yura shouted in. "Then why not go au-natural and shock the Hell out of him?""He definitely won't expect that!" Sojin agreed."My dad will be walking me down the aisle." I reminded them all with a grimace. "It would be too weird." "It would be naughty...""Sinful...""And it would totally turn you on every time you watch your wedding video." "Girls!" I sighed, as I stepped back out of the dressing room in my designer sundress, my shades resting on the top of my head. "I am not forgoing underwear and that's final!""Your such a spoil sport." Sojin whined. "Where to next? Want to head to that new shoe outlet that's opened?""Yes, yes and double yes!" Minah sighed wistfully. "I've seen a pair of gorgeous boots that I just have to have.""No can do for me." I shrugged as I returned my gown to the shop assistant with my required changes. "I'm going to surprise Jae-Oppa at work." "Ooh, surprise work-sex." Hyeri nodded approvingly. "I like you're thinking, Hana." "Not like that." I rolled my eyes, "He said he couldn't make lunch because he was busy so I thought I'd go surprise him and see what he's so busy with myself.""You don't think he's cheating, do you?" Minah frowned, grabbing my arm worriedly. "No no, but I want to make it clear to him now that nothing comes before our relationship, especially not my dad's stupid meat business." "Good thinking." Yura agreed. "It's good to set boundaries early.""Exactly." I smiled sweetly. "Which is why I'm about to remind him whats most important...Me." Waving them off, I grabbed a quick to-go coffee before heading over to my dad's building. Though he owned a meat distribution business, my dad, brother and JaeJoong (my fiancé) didn't exactly work in a butchers. Instead they ran the business side of thing, since my fathers worked with millions of supermarket across South Korea, China and Japan. As the CEO, Father had a lot of work to do and Jae-oppa, as one of his Managers also worked hard. But he needed to know now that I came first.Stepping inside, I walked straight past the busy secretary and into the elevator, where I ascended up towards Jae-Opas office. But I could see through the sheer glass immediately that he wasn't in."Where is he?" I asked his personal secretary, eying her short business suit with a sneer."Oh um uh... He's out at the moment, Miss Lee so-""Where is he?" "I'm sorry, but I can't give out that type of information, even to you so-"Reaching across her desk I grabbed her diary and scrutised this mornings meetings whilst she yelped in protest. But I'd already seen what I needed to. "Kim JaeJoong: 9am - 1pm Gangnam Factory". Her hands grabbed the diary and swiped it back with a glare."You can't do that, Miss. Kim!" She warned, sliding the diary into her desk drawer. "Whatever." I shrugged, flicking my hair over my shoulder. "I'll just ask my daddy where he is.""Then remember to do that in future!" Giving her a sweet smile I left the building, a frown on my face. Why would Jae tell me he was busy in his office all morning when he wasn't even there? I needed the secretary not to suspect I knew where he was, since I planned to head down to the Gangnam factory and confront Jae-Oppa. And I didn't want him to have a heads up at my arrival. Deciding against calling my driver I instead hopped in a taxi to the factory. On arrival I headed past the busy workers - none of who paid me much heed and made my way past the rows of hanging meat and pig corpses towards the back, where Fathers office was. Cracking open the door I peeked inside, a grin on my face ready to surprise Jae-Oppa. But it was me who got the biggest shock of all. "Where the fuck is our money?" Jae-Oppa spat at the man tied on a wooden chair in the center of the room. "I don't have it." The man told him defiantly. "Wrong answer." I flinched as Jae-Opas fist collided with the mans jaw, whipping his head to the side. Turning back to face him the man spat out a mouthful of blood close to Jae Oppas shoes and grinned. "You think it's funny asshole?" I stared in horror as my older brother, Lee Joon came into sight, his expression murderous. "I'll give you one last chance. Where is our money?""Don't you Bastards get it?" The man laughed wetly, his teeth red with blood. "I don't have it.""Finish him, Joon." My heart dropped at Fathers distinct raspy voice, though he was nowhere in sight. "He's worthless to us if he won't speak. Joon sighed and reached into his jacket pocket, where with a flick of his wrist he brought out a penknife. My hand raised to my mouth in horror as Jae-Oppa laughed manically as Joon drove the knife into the mans kneck calmly, sending blood splurging everywhere as he pulled it out swiftly. The man made a wet gurgling sound, eyes wide in panic as his blood ran freely, before his head slumped in death. On trembling legs I stepped back, eyes blurred with tears."Nice." JaeJoong high-fived with Joon. "Though a little too quick for my liking.""I didn't want to hear the Bastard beg." Joon shrugged. "His voice was annoying." "Well done, boys." Came Fathers voice again, sounding pleased. Proud of what they'd just done, on his own order. "I'll see you back at the office."I'd heard enough. Turning from the scene of death I ran from the factory, my body numb and stomach churning. How could he? How could they? My own family, my own fiancé - all murderers! A sob caused me to stumble and I staged into an alley where promptly threw up my breakfast, my heart racing and my skin cold. Was this what they did behind my backs when they claimed to be at work? Was the family business all one giant rouse? I thought of Joon's words, how he has wanted money from the man. Was that where our family money came from? The pockets of dead men? At the thought I threw up again, this time dry retching , hands clawing off my expensive jewellery, letting it fall into my own sick. All this time... All these years I'd been living amongst Monsters!Another sob ripped out of my tight throat and I knelt on the filthy alleyway floor beside my own vomit, the tears falling thick and fast as I rehashed everything. Every 'business trip', every business deal they'd discussed. How could they lie to my face like that? Shaking violently I rose to my feet and wrapped my arms around my stomach, feeling hollow and utterly betrayed. I couldn't stay here, and I didn't just mean this stinking alley. Hailing down a taxi I climbed inside and recited my address, my eyes staring at the passing scenery without feeling. Paying he man I hopped out and headed up to our penthouse apartment, where I rushed past the servants and to my bedroom, where I quickly shoved clothes into my bag. Throwing my bag onto my bed, I left my purse and ID behind as I left the apartment, ignoring the servants curious questions.Walking down the street I let my legs carry me, not caring where I went. I had no money of my own, nothing to pay for a hotel or even something to eat. But I couldn't care less. Even carrying my backpack filled with clothes made me feel sick, knowing full well that the money that was used to purchase It was tainted.Blood money. The thought made me falter in my step, but a large pair of hands stopped me from falling to the hard ground."Are you okay?" The voice asked with evident concern. I shook my head and pulled out of the persons grasp, my legs propelling me forward. I had to get away, far away... "Lee Hana?"Turning around I blinked at the vaguely familiar face, a moment of panic making me flinch away as he tried to reach for me a second time. Was he one of m Fathers employees? Did my Father already know I'd left? Was he coming to get me?"It's me... Oh Sehun? I used to date your friend, Minah..." He licked his bottom lip and shuffled uncomfortably. "We hung out a few times.""S-Sehun?" I blinked, as recognition dawned. "I haven't seen you in four years.""Ah, yeah... I actually moved to China. " he admitted. "After the break up, I mean." "Oh..." I mumbled, not sure how to respond to that.Minah had dated Sehun back when she was in high school, though she hadn't been all that serious about him. She'd brought him to hang out with us a few times, but I'd not spoken to him all that much. When Minah had graduated, she'd ditched him when she no longer had to attend school and could live off his dad's money, claiming Sehun was holding her back from meeting a rich bachelor. I'd not seen him since. "Are you okay?" He asked again, his eyes flickering to my dirtied knees and hands. "No." I whispered truthfully, my shoulders sagging. "I'm not okay."I promptly broke down in tears, the sight of a familiar face during the worst moment in my life making the flimsy wall I'd attempted to erect around my fragile heart to shatter. Sehun's eyes widened in panic at my breakdown and I could see him flailing for something to do to help me. "I... Ah... Hana?" He whispered. "People are staring!" I just cried harder. Let them stare, let them judge me. Didn't I deserve it? "Aish!" Sehun groaned, grabbing my shoulder roughlyHr dragged me towards him and buried my face against his chest before wrapping his arms around me tightly keeping my tears from others view. Dropping my bag I grabbed at his jacket desperately, needing the comfort of somebody else, even if that somebody was practically a stranger. I'm not sure how long I stood in Sehun's arms crying, but when I did finally manage to calm myself down, Sehun looked extremely uncomfortable. Pulling away from him I scrubbed at my face with my hands and turned away in shame."Sorry." I whispered. "Look, I uh... Do you want to go somewhere to catch up?" He asked, running his hands through his hair. "You don't have to it's just, you really look like you need to talk to someone." "Thanks. I'd really like that." Anything to get away from here.
