”Daniel, can I use your laptop?” I carefully asked as I peeked out of my bedroom. The boys looked up at me, and noticed that I had been crying. He nodded and brought me his laptop. I took it from him and disappeared back in to my bedroom. I sat on my bed and opened the laptop. I opened my email. I was about to send an email to my birthparents. In the letter, they explained everything to me from the start. They said that they currently lived in Australia, where my mom worked as a hairdresser and dad worked as a police. They also said that they were sorry, and that they wanted to see me.I typed in their email and my greeting. How do I go from here? My train of thought was interrupted when there was a knock on my door. I closed the laptop and set it aside.“Come in” I said quietly. The door opened and Inati stepped in.“Hey-“ he said carefully and closed the door.“-are you okay?” he continued. I gave him a weak smile.“Yeah. I’m fine.” Inati sat down next to me. He took my hand in his and held it tightly. After a while of silence, I felt tears starting to form in my eyes again. Inati noticed it too and pulled me into a tight hug. I gripped the front of his shirt with hands and sobbed into his shoulder. Inati rubbed my back comfortingly.“What’s wrong?”“I-I-I c-can’t believe all m-my life I’ve actually h-had great real p-parents somewhere-” I stuttered.“-And I’ve j-just been stuck with those m-monsters” I continued. Inati patted my back.“I know, sweetie. But at least you got to know them now. And come to think about it, if you wouldn’t have moved here with those monsters, we probably would have never met” Inati told me. I stopped crying. I stayed in my position for a while, then I pulled back.“I guess you’re right.” Inati kissed my forehead.“Can I do anything for you?” he smiled.“Well, I have an email to write.”～Three days later I was waiting for the boys to get home from their schedule. I was filling a crossword puzzle in the living room, when I heard my email sound from Daniel’s open laptop. I slowly got up from the couch and dragged myself to the kitchen. I sat in front of the laptop and opened the newly arrived email, without looking who the sender was first. As I read on, I realized that it was from my birthparents. Mia & John Jones. They were in Korea. They wanted to meet me the very next day. I totally froze. What should I reply? Of course I wanted to meet them too. But I was nervous. What if they didn’t like me? What if they only wanted to see me to tell me they were sorry and never see me again?After a while of hesitating, I wrote a reply. I asked them to meet me in the nearby mall, at 1 pm. I closed the laptop and decided to make lunch.～“Marie, could you please stop walking around? It’s making me really nervous” Jeesu told me. I had been racing around the house for hours. I plopped on the couch next to Daniel and nearly crushed him.“Hey! Watch out a little, would you?” he yelled as he pushed me further away.“Sorry” I mumbled. I started to bite my nails. It had always been a bad habit of mine.“Marie, are you okay?” Simon asked me gently. I nodded. Then I shook my head.“I don’t know what I’ll wear tomorrow” I replied. Simon laughed.“Why are you so worried about tomorrow’s clothing? I’m pretty sure that the empty house won’t care what you wear.”“I’m meeting my parents tomorrow” I suddenly blurted out. I heard gasps all around the living room.“Say what?”“Yeah, we agreed to meet tomorrow at the mall.”～Jeesus’ POV:The next day I promised to take Marie to meet her parents and then go back to our schedule. The drive to the mall was short, so I decided to wait with her inside the mall for a while. We were sitting in the same bench where she met up with my members some time ago for the first time. Marie looked so nervous. Her legs kept shaking and she kept on playing with her fingers. I took one of her hands in mine and squeezed it tightly.“It’s going to be fine” I told her and tried to give her a reassuring smile. She smiled back. She looked at the huge clock on the wall.“Oppa, I have to go now” Marie said while standing up.“I’ll see you later at home, okay?” she smiled. I nodded.“Sure. Good luck” I told her. She started to walk away but then she stopped. She quickly ran back to me and hugged me tightly.“Thank you, oppa” she whispered to me. I wrapped my arms around her and patted her back.“You’re welcome, sweetie” I replied, laughing. We pulled back.“Go on, you don’t want to be late” I gently pushed her away. Marie laughed and disappeared into the crowd.～Our schedule ended and we went back home. I was expecting to see Marie there, since it was already 7 pm, but she was nowhere to be found. I paced back and forth in the living room just like she did the last night. I was seriously worried about her. Suddenly Daniels’ phone started ringing.“Yup!” he answered it. Since he was talking in English, I could that the caller was Marie.“Really? Great. Where are you? Oh okay. You want me to pick you up? No, that’s no trouble at all. I’ll be there in 10 minutes. Okay. Bye” he finished the phone call and I rushed to him.“Well? Is she okay? Where is she?” I kept asking him. Daniel laughed.“Hyung, relax, she’s fine. I’m going to pick her up from-““I’m coming too” I told him, dragging him up from the couch.“Come on, let’s go.”
