Us Against The World - Ch (1/1)
He was bound and dragged into a room where he was thrown onto the floor. He looked up and saw a man sitting on a grand chair, similar to that of a throne. He had two bodyguards by his side. The man smiled with delight when he saw the young man at his feet."You need to treat my merchandise with care," scolded the man as he glared at the two men who had dragged him in. The man got up from his seat and approached the young man on the floor. He held the young man's chin and raised his head. "What a nice face you have," smiled the man. He ripped the young man's shirt opened and his eyes widened with excitement. "Ooh, a nice build too. You're perfect. I'm sure you'll make a good investment."The young man struggled to get away but was held back by the two men who had brought him in. "What are you doing? I didn't sign up for this?""But you did," said the man. "I have the contract right here." He held up the signed document."But you said it was physical labour work," protested the young man.The man laughed. "Well, it is physical alright," said the man. "Clean him up. Can't let him see clients looking like this.""No!" shouted the young man as he was dragged away. "Let me go!"
The mesmerising melody captivated the audience as his elegant fingers gracefully swept across the keys. He closed his eyes as he immersed himself to the tune. The beautiful melody enchanted all those that heard it.
When the last note ended, the audience applauded enthusiastically, requesting for him to continue with another song. He stood up from the piano and bowed politely, declining their requests as he stepped down from the stage.
"They love you," commented the owner of the fine dining restaurant. "You know, the majority of my customers come here just to hear you play.""Isn't it because your restaurant is renowned in this city?" asked the man.The owner smiled. "Well, my bookings have increased ever since you started playing. Why don't you fulfil their request and play another song?"The man looked at his watch. "You know I can't, Sungyeol," said the man. "It's late. I should get going.""You really are a devoted man, Sunggyu," said the owner. "I'll see you tomorrow then."
He ran barefoot through the cold night with only pants and a ripped shirt on. His feet were killing him but he couldn't stop. The icy cold breeze ate at his skin but he didn't care. He just wanted to get away. His pursuers were hot on his heels. As he turned the corner, he found himself caught in a dead end. He panted in exhaustion as he turned back to find the group of men blocking his path. There was no escape now."Where can you run to now?" asked one of men stepping forward. "Giving us this much trouble. I'll teach you."The group advanced on the young man as he struggled to get away. He found an empty glass bottle next to one of the garbage bags and smashed it on the head of the man who had a grip on him. Still clutching the broken glass bottle, he slashed his way and ran out from the alley. He threw the broken glass bottle at the men before running off.
As he turned into a busy street, he bumped into a man in a black coat. He almost stumbled back, but the man caught his arm and steadied him. He panicked as he looked at the man then back in the direction he had come from. The man followed his gaze and saw the group of men in the distance.
He breathed heavily, trying to catch his breath. His feet were bleeding and he didn't have the strength to run anymore. He closed his eyes and waited for the men to find him.
Unexpectedly, he felt a warm coat wrap around his body as he was pulled aside. His back was pushed against the wall on the side of the street. He immediately opened his eyes to see the man in front of him.
Without warning, the man placed both his arms against the wall on either side of his head. He stared speechless as the man leaned down and kissed him. His eyes widened in surprise at the man's actions, but he didn't have the strength to protest. Instead, he closed his eyes and let the man's soft, warm lips consume his.
The group of men arrived at the scene. They scanned the busy street. There were many couples but no sign of the lone prey they were after."He couldn't have gone far, find him," ordered one of the men.
The man finally pulled away from the kiss and took a step back. He glanced in the direction the group of men had headed. He turned back and looked at the dishevelled young man before him."Looks like they're gone," said the man.The young man took a step forward but felt his legs gave way as he collapsed forward. The last thing he remembered before darkness took over, was a pair of strong arms embracing him.
