Chapter : Hurt (1/1)
Chapter Four: Hurt It was one calm evening in Seoul as people wandered around the spot where the perfect view of Banpo Bridge's Moonlight Rainbow Fountain could be seen. Some settle themselves sitting along the sides as they let the tranquility of the place takes their breath away. That's where he found her.Taking a break on their usual routine of seeing each other on a hotel room, or a secluded night club perhaps, Changmin sat down inches away from Victoria, who has her knees on her chest, her arms wrapped around her legs as she watched the scenery.Silence reigns between the two as they watched how the colors shift by the minute, taking in the beauty of one of Seoul's famous landmarks. The quietness is deafening, yet no one dares to complain about it. Somehow, the absence of unnecessary sounds gives them a clue on what's about to happen. They know they will come at this point. Changmin let out a small smile, this is a good place to end it all.. and start anew."I believe it's been a month..", she whispered, loud enough for the other to hear."Yeah.."No one is sparing a glance towards the other, yet both understands what's going through inside their minds. Maybe the forbidden affair isn't as bad as it seems to be. It maybe for a short period, but both find friendship towards the presence of each other. It wasn't all disappointing after all."Kyuhyun had been putting an effort to make time for us. He's been going home earlier than the usual too. There were times he comes home before I do..", she said. "And this morning, he even surprised me with a breakfast in bed before he goes to work..", she smiled at the memory, it's not everyday her husband decides to be cheesy."That must be horrible, as far as I know, Kyuhyun can't cook."Victoria guffawed at that. "Yeah..", she said, recalling how the supposed to be sunny-side up turned out to be not so sunny at all. "But I love it nonetheless.", she answered, a small smile creeping on her face."That's good to know.", Changmin uttered, the smile on his face nothing but genuine. "Yoona has always been the best as always. There's nothing about her I complained.", he uttered truthfully. And though he's being honest, he can't help the sadness crawling over his whole system, which was evident on how his voice breaks at his last words. He's depressed, guilty, ashamed of himself.."I think you should start trying to open up with your wife some more..""Yeah, I'll be doing that.", he answered. Yes he will. He thinks it's about time to let his wife know about this part of him. She deserves to know. They vowed to be with each other whatever happens anyway. "I wish you and Kyuhyun could finally find the time to totally make it up with each other.""We will.""I'm glad then.""We're still friends, right?""Of course. That's one thing that won't change.""Thank you." Yes. Maybe that's one thing that will remain the same after all this. Their friendship. Because both know the moment they began sleeping with each other, that event will just be the beginning of a series of changes. They cheated. They deceived their partners. That alone changes everything.Maybe their longing for a diversion ends, but the hardest part is just about to begin. The peacefulness of the night seems to give a warning, a warning of how strong the storm that was about to come their way.The affair ended. Both commited on straighting things out with the one they truly want to be with. The previous month will just be another memory. It's time for a new beginning, for a new chapter in their lives. But life is hard, cruel to say the least. And no secrets were left unsaid. They engaged on something outlawed. In one way or another, they have to pay the price. And they learned it the hard way. ~Victoria grinned as Kyuhyun place his hands on her waist, whispering cheeky remarks as she fixed her husband's bow tie. Turthfully they've been a lot closer these days, Kyuhyun is really serious on making time for his wife while Victoria is doing the role of the perfect wife she opts to be for her husband. No more silly business this time, it's just her and Kyuhyun."You two are just sweet. Brings me back to the time when we're younger, right hon?"The couple looked back to see another couple, older than them for about twenty years and the main reason why they're in there in the first place. It was Changmin's parents silver anniversary, and as usual, being the prominent family the Shims are, a big celebration was held. "Happy anniversary uncle, auntie!", Kyuhyun beamed, disenganging from his wife to hug the couple.Mrs. Shim returned the hug whole heartedly while Mr. Shim tapped Kyuhyun's shoulder. Victoria hugged them next and exchange of smiles occured between them."She's really beautiful. Quite a catch Kyuhyun.", Mr. Shim uttered, winking at his son's friend whom he actually considers to be his own too."I know uncle.", he uttered confidently, placing an arm over his blushing wife that made the older couple chuckled."You and Changmin are best of friends really. You've got good tastes with girls!", Mrs. Shim exclaimed happily, and although Victoria flinched a bit upon how she perceive the words in a double meaning, she was quick to disregard it totally."Speaking of Changmin, where's him?", Kyuhyun asked."Oh probably somewhere around, we're with him, Yoona and Minho earlier.", Mrs. Shim answered.Mr. Shim snorted. "Probably eating. Because it's the only thing he's good at.""Hon..", Mrs. Shim frowned at her husband before bowing a little to the younger couple, telling them they'll go first to entertain the other guests. Kyuhyun sighed, he knows the relationship between Changmin and his father hasn't really been good ever since, he wonders what happened this time. Victoria on the other hand cocked an eyebrow with Mr. Shim's statement. She knows everything to say the least, she's been Changmin's diversion after all, meaning he had been ranting out his frustrations
