It was Saturday, two solid weeks without seeing each other, and one of the rare occasions where Jongin got a break on a weekend: there was no obvious reason for your adamant decline. He called you eight in the morning and tried convince you to skip your afternoon drawing class to see him, but you refused him so stubbornly it shocked him, excusing yourself from being stressed from work and PMSing.

Jongin wasn't used to be rejected by you simply because you never did before. Even when overworked or sick, youve always been generous with the time you spent on him. The more you refused, the more he pushed himself on you because he knew something was wrong, even if you denied. He insisted until you run out of pretexts (all of them meaningless and weak). As he drove to your place, though, he kept wondering what the hell had happened, and mostly if the problem was himself.

Your love life's statuses were pretty much the same: both too busy to real commitment, fated to be locked on casual relationships.

He wasn't seeing anyone but you. He didn't have any time for that; but being honest Jongin wasnt a man to lie to himself he admitted that he wasn't slightly interested in anyone else. He liked the engines of your relationship; as you used to say, there was no space for jealousy, obligations or insecurity, so why complicate labeling things?

The lack of a label bothered him just a little. A small selfish part of him wanted to call you his, (and it was dangerous itself) but he knew you wasn't anyone's but yourself, and he tried to respect that. He liked your free spirit and independent character, so he tried not prying too much into your life, but it was a hard task sometimes. It wasn't like he could assume you to the public, anyways. Honestly, he didn’t know how long you both could endure it, but for the first time in his dull calculated life, he was letting things happen naturally.

Plus, he knew you wasn't seeing anyone but him too, and it was enough to tame his possessiveness. Not that he could confirm it in fact, but love wasn't your favorite matter, and he knew you too well to bet that he alone was too much for you anti-romantic self deal with.He had the keys of your small apartment an as soon as he got there, he found you making fast sandwiches for lunch, the ones you used to do when your work in the atelier was taking the best of you. You were dressed only in his basketball blue shirt long forgotten by him at your laundry room, your hair up in a bun and still damp from your recent bath, and his heart rushed. Your scent left him a little lightheaded; he was dizzily aware of how he missed you.

It was a long time since his heart reacted by someone else’s presence and Jongin kept this feeling hide under layers and layers of self-control. He approached silently from behind and kissed your jaw lightly, aware of the stiffing on your stance under his touch. A small fear chomped down his chest when you didn’t look him in the eye. He was the problem. He was supposed to ask you what was wrong, but he couldn’t deny he was a little scared by the answer. You used to be frank and direct every time you had a problem with him, always disposed to fix things... why you were avoiding it now?

"Did I do something wrong, noona?"

"No." It was you plain answer.

After the weirdest lunch in the history of your relationship, Jongin pulled you to the big low coach in your living room and nudged you to take a nap with him. Naps were like magical healing, and it was going to prepare him to deal with anything you had to say.

When he woke up 2 hours later with a ray of sunlight burning his cheek you were awake and seeming to have no sleep at all. You sat up with a sigh that sounded fatalistic and tired at the same time and just when he was sure you were about to finish your regular-exclusive-best-friends-with-benefits-relationship, you made him a proposal out of the blue.

"Let's play a game"

What a plot twist. The sleep seemed to work, after all. He brushed his eyes, trying to understand your behaviors change.

"So, the deal is just stay still until you say so and I'll receive a reward?" He asked you with a sly smile spreading lazily in his swollen sleepy face.

"No matter what I do, you’ll stand still. You'll only have two chances, or else you lose" Your voice was small, but resolute.

“What is the punishment if I lose?”

“Youll have to comply with one wish of mine, whatever it may be"

“And my reward?”

“I’ll comply with one wish of yours”
