A Kiss to Build a Dream O (1/1)
~•••~•••~•••~Songfic based on:【A Kiss to Build a Dream On】 《By》 Louis Armstrong©~•••~•••~•••~ Give me a kiss to build a dream onA small peck. A quick kiss shared when Jungkook had cried in front of the group. Jimin had kissed him out of impulse and confessions of I-love-you-too's followed. They're in a mutual love cycle but whenever Jungkook asks, Jimin refuses to kiss. It's been a week and they never discuss it despite how confuse Jungkook is. He should man up and ask Jimin about it. The older won't ridicule him, at least Jungkook thinks he won't. Now the hard part would be cornering Jimin, he seems to be slipping away every time Jungkook tries to get ahold of him. "Jimin-hyung," Jungkook calls just as Jimin is about to leave the practice room."Yes?" Jimin answers, pauses with his small hands holding a fluffy scarf. Jungkook remembers the fabric smelling so, so good and he just want to stuff his face into it again."Can we talk?" Jungkook asks, sauntering closer and it sort of hurt when Jimin backs away."Not now Kook, I need to pick up the chicken we ordered," Jimin says, avoids eye contact and turns toward the door. Jungkook hates it, hates looking at Jimin’s back unless it's in their dance positions. So when Jimin takes a step toward the door, Jungkook reaches for the end of his fluffy scarf and yanks him back. And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss."Jungkook," Jimin chokes, leans stiffly into Jungkook's arms like a perfect baby doll little girls carry around."You're avoiding me," Jungkook blurts, looks down at Jimin and all he sees is wide eyes and nails scratching on the scarf."Can't. Breathe. Kook," Jimin coughs and it snaps Jungkook out of it."Sorry," he mumbles quickly and releases his grip on the scarf, already missing it the moment his fingers lifts from the soft fabric."The dorm," Jimin says, straightening himself up. "We'll talk back in the dorm."Sweetheart, I ask no more than this."Wait," Jungkook says again as he grabs Jimin by the elbow before the older could leave."Jungkook, goodness what is it?" Jimin groans, shrugging Jungkook's grip off in a futile attempt."Do you like me?" He asks, expression serious as he stares into Jimin's confused ones."Of course Kookie, what makes you ask that?" Jimin inquires, sounds genuine but the way he continues to tug his arm from Jungkook says so otherwise."Then why won't you kiss me?" Jungkook questions, eyes narrowing at the way Jimin frowns."Kook--" "I want a kiss, hyung," Jungkook continues and his grip tightens around Jimin’s elbow.A kiss to build a dream on."Don't say that," Jimin scowls, manages to yank his arm back and heads for the door without another word.Jungkook stands there alone, unable to move as he watches Jimin sneaks out of the practice room.Give me a kiss before you leave me.He must've stood there for awhile, because the automatic lights flicker off. It ticks Jungkook, that Jimin can easily say he likes him and turns to walk the other way. With his hands in fists, Jungkook stomps out of the practice room, forgetting his bags and coat as he walks down the empty hall. And my imagination will feed my hungry heart. It's cold and loud and stinks of cigarettes on the streets. He got a whiff of Jimin’s scent on the way to the dorm and couldn't help abandoning his route to follow it.Jimin. Jimin is near. Like instinct, Jungkook's head turns and his feet takes him toward the familiar scent. He strolls around, eyes searching for the one and only thing that can make his heart beats, his brain loopy by simply existing. Leave me one thing before we part."Kook?" A voice says, sounding so sweet and tempting in Jungkook's freezing ears."Hyung," Jungkook smiles, turn to stares at at Jimin in awe. The older never fails to make Jungkook happy, never disappoints."What are you doing out with no coat on," Jimin says, sounding worried and Jungkook panics, not knowing what to say to make his hyung feel better. "It's raining, get under here."He pulls Jungkook under the umbrella in the middle of the street, hands loop around his waist.A kiss to build a dream on.Jungkook immediately leans into Jimin's hold and the older let him. It feels right. Jungkook thinks he could sneak in a kiss. A quick one. So quick no one notices, not even Jimin himself notice. Only Jungkook knows, only he remembers. "We'll run back to the dorm or you'll catch hypothermia at this rate," Jimin says, ushering Jungkook along as the pedestrian lights turns on."Hotel." Jungkook suggests, snaking his hands behind Jimin’s back."What?" Jimin squeaks, voice high pitch and Jungkook thinks it's absolutely beautiful."It's close," Jungkook points toward the tall building two blocks away."So is our dorm," Jimin retorts, turns them both back to their original direction."It's closer," Jungkook corrects, and drags Jimin toward the hotel."Everyone is waiting for the chicken--" Jimin says. Everyone. Everyone. It's always about everyone and never Jungkook. Never cares about him, never makes time for him, never talks to him, never kisses him. "Jungkook, stop we are not spending money on unnecessary things."And when I'm alone with my fancies, I'll be with you."It's necessary!" Jungkook shouts, yanking Jimin along as the rain pours harder."The day I stay in a room alone with you is the day I die!" Jimin yells back, umbrella abandoned as he tries breaking away from Jungkook's hold."Don't you dare say that again, you like me!" Jungkook retorts, shoving Jimin through the double doors of hotel building.Weaving romances, making believe they're true."Maknae, I will say what I want," Jimin scowls, face in a fury but Jungkook only pulls him into an embrace. "A room," Jungkook says, handing the clerk his card and just then Jimin pushes against him."Jeon Jungkook," Jimin rages, shoves Jungkook away and he stumbles. "I swea--""I thought you both looked familiar!" the receptionist cuts in, her eyes shiny and wishful."My daughter loves your music," she chirps happily and Jungkook snickers, straightening up. The older only glares with eyes so deadly anyone would cower in fear. Jungkook included."Go ahead, hyung, make a scene," Jungkook taunts, voice in a whisper that he is sure only Jimin can hear."Thank you," Jimin smiles toward the clerk, plucking the key and card from her hands. He turns back to Jungkook with the smile still intact and loops an arm around his neck."Come on Kookie, you'll catch a cold soon," Jimin says sweetly, locking Jungkook in a suffocating hold. The older never fails to make Jungkook's heart flutters when he calls him by that nickname. Give me your lips for just a moment."You're so dead," Jimin threatens into Jungkook's ears, but all he could think about is the smell. Goodness Jimin smells so good and Jungkook misses it. Misses everything that defines Jimin. "They'll be so pissed and I'm going to blame it all on you," Jimin says as they ride the elevator up to what Jungkook hopes is the highest floor. With a window and a view of the whole city."Okay," Jungkook replies, hugging Jimin from behind because the older exerts excessive warmth. And my imagination will make that moment live. The answer must've irks Jimin because he pauses and turns around to look at Jungkook."What is wrong with you lately?" Jimin asks, eyes wide and calculating as he pierces Jungkook with it. He suddenly feels weak under that gaze. Jimin is just the loveliest thing Jungkook have encounter since 1997."I love you so so much," Jungkook says, pulling Jimin into a bear hug that envelop his whole body.Give me what you alone can give"I know Kookie, you told us that just last week," Jimin sighs, pats Jungkook on the back and returns the hug."Then why are you acting like you hate me," Jungkook says, face buries in Jimin's perfect nest of hair. Soft and smells nice, like peeled orange soaked in sweetened honey. "Now you're just making things up," Jimin scoffs."Then why won't you kiss me?" Jungkook asks, detaches himself to examines Jimin’s face. Lack of words would be the description."You're being we--," Jimin frowns and eyebrows knitted as he pull himself away. A kiss to build a dream on.The elevator dings right at that moment and Jimin decides not to finish whatever he is saying in favor of getting out of the elevator.Jungkook follows after him, shoulders hunched and sulking. "Take off those wet clothes," Jimin orders the moment they step into the hotel room.Jungkook hears the automatic lock clicks in place and winces at the sharp sound. He obeys and strips completely naked, letting his wet clothes lay on the carpeted floor.Jimin wraps a towel around him and leads him to the bed."I'll get the hot water going," Jimin says after sitting Jungkook on the mattress. "Don't do anything stupid."And then he is out of Jungkook's sight. When I'm alone with my fancies, I'll be with you. This relationship is not going well. They fight more than they do anything love related. But Jungkook loves him so much, so, so, much it hurts. Jimin says it yet his feelings never matches his words. Jungkook want kisses, want hugs, want cuddles, want to share beds, wants Jimin to always be in his arms.He wants Jimin in general.Weaving romances, making believe they're trueJungkook saunters to the large window and throws it open. They were high up, and the view of the city is marvelous. The sound of rain beats the honking cars on the streets and it smells nice. He wants Jimin to be here, to see it with him. Jungkook quickly make his way to the bathroom where he knows Jimin is. Needs the older's assuring presence like he needs everything else."Jimin-hyung," Jungkook sighs as he spots the the back of a familiar orange head behind the door."Almost done," Jimin says, leaning down to test the waters. His back. It's always his back that triggers Jungkook. Gives him an urge.Give me your lips for just a moment."I love you a lot hyung," Jungkook says, pulling Jimin into a hug from behind and the older gasps."Yes, for the fiftieth time, I know," Jimin groans, small beneath Jungkook's tight embrace."In love with you," Jungkook rephrases, eyes closed as he press light kisses behind Jimin's ears. And my imagination will make that moment live."What?" Jimin sputters, twists around to stare at Jungkook with widen eyes. Except he can't move because Jungkook has a good hold of him."Love you. Want to kiss you. I want to hug you. I want to sleep with you. Want to stay with you until retirement days," Jungkook continues in small hiccups as he holds onto Jimin tighter, closer."Jungkook hold your horses," Jimin says, wiggling easily out of Jungkook's loosening embrace."You're in love with me?" Jimin asks, hands coming up to grip Jungkook's face."Yes. In love with you since debut days," Jungkook sniffs, stares at Jimin whose eyes are as beautiful now as it is in the beginning.Give me what you alone can give."Kookie, I'm so sorry, all those times I thought you meant as brothers--" Jimin says too quickly, hands falling from Jungkook's face."I told you I loved you, countless times," Jungkook cries, wiping at his face aggressively."You told us. As a group when we had the new album discussions," Jimin corrects. Details, details why does it matter?"But hyung, you kissed me," Jungkook frowns, eyes teary and he knows it's doing number on Jimin by the worried look on the older's face."I kissed your forehead, like the rest of the group," Jimin explains a part of the event which Jungkook have no recollection of. He only remember Jimin’s feathery soft lips and that all it matters."You said you loved me," Jungkook stutters through hiccups as he slowly backs out of the room.A kiss to build a dream on."I do. I love you and your existence Jeon Jungkook," Jimin says, taking small steps forward."Then kiss me," Jungkook tells him because he can't believe. This lie. Everything is cruel and fabricated and torturous."Only if you get away from that window," Jimin declares, stays rooted on his spot and Jungkook thinks Jimin is the worst. "I'll give you a kiss and we can cuddle on the bed," Jimin offers arms wide, taking a step forward as Jungkook did the opposite."You're lying again," Jungkook sobs and runs toward Jimin’s awaiting arms because he loves him. He's in love with him and it isn't a phase like his mom say."My oversize baby, you're an idiot," Jimin says, wraps his arms around Jungkook and pulls them together."I thought you were getting back at me when you asked me to kiss you," Jimin says, smoothing his hands down Jungkook's back and nothing feels more pleasing than now."I regretted rejecting those kisses," Jungkook sniffs, face buries perfectly in Jimin's shoulders."It's okay, I forgave your fetus attitude long ago," Jimin smiles, warm lips meeting Jungkook's ears and up to his temple.Jungkook holds his breath, turns to look at Jimin with all the stars in the world."Again," Jungkook says, lips perk up and Jimin laughs but leans down to give him a kiss anyways. A soft peck and Jungkook never realize how much he love kisses until he met Jimin. When Jimin decides to pull away, Jungkook leans up to press their lips together again. He likes the contact too much to part from Jimin"Can we cuddle?" Jungkook asks into Jimin's lips and the other nods, laughter filling the room. "And kiss? hug? And share beds?""Sure, everything you want Kookie," Jimin says, kisses Jungkook's chin."What I want.." Jungkook hums thoughtfully as he hold Jimin tight in his arms. "What if I want you?" "Then we have something in common," Jimin chuckles and leans on Jungkook's naked chest. Everything feels serene for a moment. The wind. The rain. The cold air entering through the open window. The honking cars. Jimin’s ringing phone but they couldn't care enough. Not when they're both laughing from the misunderstanding and irony of it all. And definitely not thinking about the fact that Jungkook was three seconds away from skydiving without a parachute."I like it when we have things in common," Jungkook coos and he knows he's corny for it but Jimin brings out the fool in him. ~•••~•••~•••~End of A Kiss to Build a Dream On~•••~•••~•••~ the lyrics aren't there with its bad timing to distract you. It's actually Jungkook's thoughts in a nutshell.
