chapter one:  she's back    "We have arrived safely to our destination. Welcome to South Korea. The current temperature is around 24°C and the current local time is 11:26 am. Once again thank you for flying with us and hope you'll choose Korean Air again. You can all now proceed to the designated exit gate. Have a good day." The pilot  said through the intercom.Upon hearing the pilot's announcement, everyone started to stand up from their seats and to move around. They all gathered their belongings and slowly the passengers started to unload the plane. As the people inside started to become few, a female flight attendant suddenly noticed a passport lying down on the middle of the floor. She quickly picked it up, knowing that the owner will definitely need it. She opened it to identify the owner and there she saw a picture of a girl with a white fair complexion and black wavy hair. She averted her eyes to the owner's name before rushing out the plane."Min Hee ssi!" She called repeatedly in order to get the attention of the girl who she thought was the owner of the passport.The girl being called turned around as soon as she heard her name. She saw a lady on her mid-twenties making her way towards her direction."Min Hee ssi, you dropped your passport on your way out of the plane." The flight attendant smiled as she tried to regain her breath after the brisk waking she did."Oh, kamsahamnida." The girl named Min Hee thanked her with a smile before getting her passport from the attendant. As she smiled warmly, her eyes seemed to glisten and it made her give off a soft and gentle look.The flight attendant bowed down before excusing herself. Aish, why so clumsy, Kim Min Hee? You almost didn't get out! She mentally scolded herself. She sighed before walking towards the immigration to present her passport and to fill up her arrival card. After getting her passport stamped, she proceeded to the baggage claim. She immediately saw her purple luggage since it stood out the most compared to the other dark colored ones around it. She struggled a bit when she got it since it's quite heavy and  not to mention that she was also carrying another bag. She got her belongings checked first before she went to the arrival lobby.As Min Hee was walking leisurely, a picture caught her attention. She stopped her tracks and looked back at the poster she saw. Just like what she thought, she saw five familiar faces. It was a poster of SHINee for Etude House.  The most familiar face she saw was none other than Key, her closest cousin. A huge smile quickly formed on her lips as she saw his great success. He has finally achieved the biggest dream he had since he was a child. She knew all about the sacrifices he made and the hardships he went through just to follow his dream so wherever he is now, there in the spotlight, he deserves all of it. Her eyes moved from her cousin to their leader, Onew. Her smile slowly fade away from her face as she stared at his face. He still has that same sweet smile and those gentle eyes. Those were the best things about him... Aniyo! What are you thinking, Kim Min Hee?! Aish! Get a grip on yourself. She shook the thoughts out of her head before checking the time on her wrist watch which says that it's already 11:57 am. Her flight was canceled for more than an hour so she got worried that maybe Key and her best friend were waiting too long for her. Before she continued walking, she gave Onew's picture one last look. Brace yourself, Lee Jinki. Your worst nightmare is here and you'll meet her soon.   Bang! Bang! Bang!A loud knock can be heard from the other side of the door which made Miyoung flinched and be pulled out of her dreamland. She groaned loudly as she tossed around her bed. She reached for a nearby pillow and covered her ears with it, hoping that the loud banging sound will stop but unfortunately, it didn't. She let out another groan before getting  up lazily from her bed and dragging her feet towards the door. She opened the door and looked up to see a tall blonde guy wearing a black v-neck shirt underneath a yellow leopard print blazer, a pair of dark denim pants and black sneakers. I only know one guy in my life who wears this kind of fashionable clothes."Aish, I thought you're not going to--" Key was immediately cut off because Miyoung suddenly slammed the door shut right in front of his face.Just like I thought it was only Key. Miyoung sighed and hurriedly climbed back to her bed to get some sleep again. As she was comfortably lying on her bed, the door burst opened and heavy footsteps can be heard moving towards her direction."Yah, Yoon Miyoung! How dare you to close the door when I am not even done talking?!" He exclaimed at her. "I was knocking for... who knows how many times already. Not to mention that it took you forever just to simply turn the knob and open the door for me. After that long wait, you'll suddenly slam the door right in front of me? How disrespectful can you be, huh? Yah, are you even listening?!" All he got was silence.Key sighed as he rolled his eyes at his friend's attitude. Suddenly, his eyes landed on the clock on Miyoung's bedside table. He gasped and his eyes got wide after knowing that it's already 10:00 am. "Yah, Miyoung, get up now! We're going to be late!" He shook the girl as he panicked."Aniyo, we're not. I just heard an airplane passed by a while ago so Min Hee must be still there. So, relax and let me sleep for a while." Miyoung mumbled as she pushed Key's hands away from her."Of all the airplanes that passed by, how can you be sure that Min Hee is in there?" He challenged."My sixth sense told me." She answered indifferently."Aish, you're not even a fortune-teller!" He started to shake her again. "Get up now! Min Hee's arrival is at 10:45 and it's already 10 o' clock. We're going to be late!"Seeing that whatever he was doing has no effect on her, he had no choice but to do the POOB (Push Out Of the Bed) method. Without giving her a warning, he pushed her out of her bed which was followed by a high-pitch scream and a loud thud. Miyoung slowly pushed herself up from the floor and gave Key a dirty look."Yah, Kim Kibum! Why on earth did you push me? Can't you wake me up peacefully?!" She screamed at him."Well, you asked for it." He shrugged. "Besides, I tried to wake you up in a more gentle manner but you di--" He was once again cut off.Miyoung grabbed her pillow and throw it straight to his head to show her irritation. Key froze on his spot and gave her his infamous death glare. His perfectly fixed hair was now disheveled due to the impact he got when the pillow hit him. Before he could even move from his spot, Miyoung immediately ran towards the bathroom to save her live. "Yoon Miyoung! Get out of there right this instant!" He lightly kicked the bathroom door. "It took me a forever to fix my hair and then you'll just ruin it?!""I'm sorry, okay?" Key and his hair issues. She can't help but to roll her eyes."If you're really sorry then get out of there!" He told her."I can't do that! We're already late,remember?" A smirk slowly formed on her lips as she sense her upcoming victory."Aish, just hurry up!" He groaned as he gave up. This girl... After taking a shower and slipping into a white strapless dress with a hot pink blazer over it and a pair of pastel pink wedges, Miyoung went downstairs towards their living room. There, she saw Key who was sitting on one of their couches. Upon hearing her footsteps, he looked at her and shook his head in a very dismayed way."Bwoh?" Miyoung reacted when she saw his annoyed expression."I thought I was only going to pick you up but instead you made me wait for a long time. Well... what's new this always happen, anyway." He gave out a long sigh as he got up."I was already in a hurry!" She defended herself."Whatever you say..." He rolled his eyes as they walked out the house.Key unlocked his car and they both got in. He started the engine and in a few minutes, they have already reached the highway. As usual Key started to nag Miyoung about her being the reason why they were running late. He was surprised that he didn't hear a single word from her since she usually childishly covers her ears and blurt out anything just to make him stop. He took a glance at her direction, only to see her sleeping again with her earphones on. He looked at her in a bewildering way. This girl is unbelievable! He sighed as he shook his head before focusing his eyes back on the road. The rest of the trip was silent."Yah, wake up, shortie!" Key screamed at Miyoung's ear after he removed her earphones.Her eyes flew opened as she suddenly got up from her seat which caused her to hit her head on the car top. She let out a moan as she slowly sat back down."Aish, seriously, Key... you and your waking up methods!" She rubbed her head, hoping that it might dull the pain."Whatever. Let's go!" He said before getting out the car.Miyoung sighed and then followed him outside. She stretched out before straightening out her dress. On the corner of her eye, she saw Key putting on a black bonnet and a pair of dark tinted shades."Oh sure, wear that and no one will recognize you at all." She sarcastically said as she walked towards his side.He just shrugged it off as if it was not a big deal. "Don't expect me to help you when a bunch of fangirls suddenly appear out of nowhere and attack you." She warned him with her look."I don't need your help, anyway." He mockingly smiled at her before he lock his car.Miyoung rolled her eyes and both of them walked towards the airport's entrance. As they passed through the automatic doors, Key immediately look at his wrist watch."Oh, great! We're more than an hour late." He muttered under his breath. "If only you woke up earlier and been faster, then we wouldn't be late." He frowned at Miyoung."Instead of nagging, why don't we just look for Min Hee, arasso?" She suggested with a grimace."Omo, isn't that Key oppa?" A distant female voice was suddenly heard."Chincha?" Another female asked. "You're right, that's definitely him!"And more voices and squeals were heard. Miyoung and Key both exchanged meaningful looks to each other. This will be one hell of a trouble."I told you so." Miyoung whispered at Key who was suddenly surrounded by his fans.Key started to smile politely at the people who were surrounding him. He kindly accepted their request of taking a photo with him and even giving his autograph. As time went by, he attracted more attention which caused more people to flock around him. He suddenly made an eye contact with Miyoung and he quickly mouthed the word, "help".Miyoung pouted and pretended to give him a pitiful look before looking at her phone to check the time."Oh, look at the time! We're awfully late already, I better look for her now." She said loud enough for Key to hear. "I'm going to look for her, arasso. I'll call you when I found her." She smiled sweetly at him.Key's eyes widened as he threatened her with his look. Don't you dare... That was clearly what he's trying to say with the use of his eyes. But Miyoung didn't obey him instead, she waved cheerfully at him before walking away."Kim Kibum, hwaiting!" She mouthed as she pumped a fist in the air.She turned around and completely abandoned Key who was still stuck with his supporters. It's not like she really wanted to leave her poor friend alone, it's just that... okay, maybe a part of her wanted to leave him alone as a revenge for his ways of waking her up and for the other things he did to annoy her. Besides, she's also worried that Min Hee might be waiting too long for them. Worse, she might have left on her own. But she doubt it since Min Hee has been away from Seoul for a long time so she wasn't that familiar with her surroundings anymore. Another reason why she left Key was... she doesn't want another issue to be made about them. They were caught in a dating scandal before which was not true at all. Sure, SM cleared it out but some other fans just don't believe it and tend to give colors to what they see especially the haters. She doesn't want to experience that again since it will just be a huge problem to her. There's nothing wrong on taking precaution, right? She sighed and shook all the thoughts away. As she snapped out of it, she found herself standing in front of the flight board. She looked up and scanned for the time of arrival of the flight from New York. After moving her eyes up and down for countless times, she finally saw it. "Flight KE 0082 from New York... arrived 11:26." She read softly.11:26? Isn't her arrival time should be 10: 45? Then everything sank in her mind. So the flight was delayed. We weren't late after all. Key should have let me slept some more. She blew her bangs in disappointment. She checked the time again and it was exactly 12 noon. She's sure that Min Hee was already around the arrival lobby so she started to look around for her. Sure enough, she finally saw a very familiar looking face who was pulling a purple luggage behind her and carry a bag with the other had. A wide smile suddenly formed across her face."Min Hee ah!" She called her girl's attention and waved her hands in the air.The girl paused for a while and stared at her as she tried to figure out who she was. In a blink of an eye, a bright smile has appeared on her face. Both of them hurriedly walk towards each other and gave each other a tight embrace."Aigoo, I thought you guys already left me." Min Hee said before pulling away."We thought you already left." Miyoung countered. "We arrived late." She explained when she saw the confusion on her best friend's face."Let me guess, it's because of you right? It's either you woke up late or you're being a slowpoke again." Min Hee raised an eyebrow."Let's just say both." She sheepishly grinned."Oh well, what's new? You're always like that." Min Hee shook her head with a smile. "Where's Key oppa, by the way?""He's probably over there, near the entrance." She answered as she took the bag that Min Hee was carrying.Miyoung interlocked her arms with Min Hee's arms as she led the way. The two of them talked to catch up with their lives. Both of them are too engrossed with their chat that they didn't even notice Key was walking towards their direction and was looking for them. Key was about to call Miyoung but he suddenly saw her from the corner of his eyes."Yah, Miyoung!" He called out which made the girl look at his direction.Miyoung already expected him to give her another round of his endless nagging so before he can even start, she immediately took action to distract him."Key, look who I just found!" She beamed him a smile as she pulled Miyoung between them.He was taken aback at what he saw. In front of him was his cousin who he haven't seen for the past 8 years."Min Hee?!" Key asked to make sure that she was really his cousin."Ne, it's me, oppa." Min Hee nodded as she smiled sweetly at him.A huge grin had appear on Key's face as he gave her a tight hug. "Omo, I miss you so much, baby girl!" He can't contained his happiness and he even called her by the nickname he  gave to her since they were young."I miss you too, oppa." She hugged him back.After a while, he pulled away and gave Min Hee a head-to-toe look. "You've changed a lot, Min Hee ah." He unbelievably stated.His cousin just tilted her head to the side and stared at him."I mean, you've gotten skinnier and much taller than before. And your fashion sense, I never thought that it would improve this much. Now, where's the chubby boyish little girl I used to know?" He playfully pinched her nose which caused her to whine and swat his hand away."He's just here, oppa!" She pointed at herself. "Thanks for the compliments, though. And omma is the one who taught me to change my style. You know how moms love to make their daughters as their personal dress up doll." She explained."I'm glad that she taught you." Miyoung suddenly blurted out."Did you just insult me?" Min Hee looked at her and raised an eyebrow."Aniyo, I'm just saying that you look much better now." She quickly denied as she shook her hands in front of her."I'm just kidding." Min Hee laughed when she saw her reaction. "Anyway, Key oppa, why aren't you with Miyoung a while ago?" She moved her gaze to her cousin."Oh, that." Key's face suddenly turned grim. "It's because a bunch of fans suddenly surrounded me. Luckily, the guards saved me... It's also because a certain someone ran away and abandoned me." He threw Miyoung a meaningful look which made the girl look away and pretend she doesn't know a thing. "You're very famous now, aren't you?" Min Hee playfully nudged him and wiggled her eyebrows.Key opened his arms and shrugged his shoulders. "Oh well, what to do? That's life. I'm meant to be where I am now. Being under the spotlight and being the center of attention suit me perfectly." He said proudly with a huge grin plastered on his face."Aigoo, you're still the same diva that I know." She laughed. "Anyway", let's go now and get something to eat. I'm starving."Key nodded to show his agreement before grabbing Min Hee's luggage. Miyoung was about to hand him her friend's bag as well but Key just walked off. She opened her mouth to say something but she immediately stopped herself knowing that Key would not change his mind. So this is his way of revenge? She sighed and she ran to catch up with them. The three went out the airport and made their way towards the parking lot. Key unlocked his car before he placed Min Hee's belongings at the car's trunk. The two girls went in and sat at the backseat while Key got in the driver side.Min Hee rested her back on her seat and looked outside the window.
