[M] Playing Games (1/1)
The air was warm now that the sun had risen and Xiumin took a deep breath while looking at the sky. As he watched the other people coming and going to or from their destinations he assumed that he was the only one enjoying the nice day. Although the morning had been moving along smoothly with Chen, there was one thing that had thrown him off, and that was finding out that Sehun worked at the ChenMin firm. Not only had he never mentioned it to anyone, he had also never talked about it with Kyungsoo or Xiumin. What was Sehun keeping from the other two that they didn’t know about. But then again Xiumin didn’t think he could say he was all that honest either, but he wouldn’t hide something from the others if they had asked. Maybe that was why Sehun hadn’t shared this with neither he nor Kyungsoo, because they hadn’t asked. Finally arriving at his destination Xiumin didn’t even hesitate as he entered the Black Pearl. Even though there was a fair amount of people in the sub shop it was relatively quiet and very calming. “Xiumin!” Luhan greeted him first, his sudden outburst in the quiet building causing a couple people to look up and acknowledge the blonde owner before turning back to their food. “Hey Luhan.” “What’s up?” The other asked. “Just getting lunch for Chen and myself.” He casually walked up and leaned forward on the counter, mirroring Luhans’ stance. “Ooh, how cute.” Xiumin rolled his eyes at the statement. “Yeah whatever, just make me something.” “You got it boss.” Luhan teased. “Tao!” He turned to call to the back kitchen, the black haired boy emerging immediately. “What! Oh, Xiumin, hey.” Without saying a word Xiumin greeted him by just a simple wave of his hand. Luhan turned to the latter and began to speak, Xiumin casually eaves dropping on their conversation, not that they minded he assumed. "He's getting lunch for him and Chen, so make one of the sandwiches of yours that Chen said he likes and make Xiumin the special for today." Looking up when he heard his name his eyes met Taos' and Tao smiled before nodding and making his way back into the kitchen. Luhan turning back around and smiling at Xiumin once again before leaning against the counter across from him. "How long do you have for lunch break." Luhan asked. "Just enough time to get food and run back." He sat still, watching the other trying to calculate the amount of time it would take for Xiumin to arrive here and then go back along with the time in-between to wait for the sandwiches. "I'm kidding," Xiumin finally teased. "As long as I make it back I don't think Chen will be worried about how much time I take." Tapping a finger against his chin Luhan nodded. "That makes sense, seeing as how he's infatuated with you." Xiumin couldn’t tell if the emotion that crossed his face was a smile or a smirk but he didn't like it either way along with the statement that had just escaped those same lips. “Bullshit." "No way, it's totally true. But then again, you haven't seen the way he looks at you when you walk into a room." Luhan lightly punched his shoulder; Xiumin in turn swatting at the hand just slowly enough that he missed and Luhan laughed. What was this, school crushes from high school all over again. Only friends in school would tease each other like this. Thinking back on high school he quickly shook his head, ridding his head of any memories of the past that his brain had to offer. None of them were something that he wanted to remember right now, especially with his life moving along so smoothly at the moment. "And what about you," Xiumin cleared his throat, "Sehun is like a koala whenever you're around, that or a possessive dog." Xiumin couldn't keep himself from laughing as he imagined Sehun as a small dog that didn't want to be left alone at home when the owner went off to work. Although... the personality he had when he was with Luhan was very different than the times that Sehun was out doing his job for the mob. Of course, you had to be a bit different as to not be able to be found out when you weren't working; but Sehun... Sehun was a different person altogether. Xiumin just couldn't piece him together. "He's not that bad." Luhan rolled his eyes as he stood up straight. "But atleast he actually gives me affection." He raised an eyebrow at Xiumin and the latter knew exactly what he was trying to say. Not having any retort in place, he just pursed his lips and looked away, his side of the argument ending with the ding of the doorbell as customers entered and Luhan had to attend to them, Xiumin smiling mischievously as the other walked past but said nothing. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~About twenty minutes had passed and finally Tao reemerged with two steaming hot sandwiches, he set them in front of Xiumin so that he could have a good look at them before the latter wrapped them tightly and put them in a container that was used to keep the hot food hot on its way to its destination. "This one is for you, and this one is for Chen." Tao pulled out a marker and wrote the first initial for each person on the sandwiches that he said were for. "They smell really good Tao." Xiumin complimented, the scent of both sandwiches wafting together and making his mouth water. "Thanks, they should taste good as well." He smiled as he pushed the container towards Xiumin. "Enjoy your lunch." "Thanks I will, I'm sure Chen will too." Xiumin smiled and waved before heading to the door, giving a small wave to Luhan who was still busy helping customers but smiled for acknowledgement before the other slipped out the door and headed back toward the ChenMin firm. He took a deep breath and looked around as he walked. People seemed to be in a happier mood now that the winter was starting to melt off, only to leave the small piles of snow on the grass here and there along with cold breath. If he had to choose a favorite season he would probably say it was spring, because everything was starting anew and all things beautiful were beginning then. Now he was curious about what Sarah would say to that. He wondered what her favorite season was. Out of all the things they had talked about seasons were not among the topics of choice. But then again, seeing as how they had met on a bit weirder terms the small things that the other person liked had not been the first thing to come to mind when having a conversation. Background information had been more important. He'd ask Chen too, since he did need to know more about him anyway to pull off his caring image for the relationship, didn't he? One of the street vendors he passed was selling miniature sweets that included cinnamon rolls and wrapped créme filled brioche buns and even small cakes that contained pieces of banana along with some nuts and an additional section of créme. Not being able to resist he bought a little of each, each wrapper a pastel pink, yellow or blue to sell off the feeling of spring to come. He assumed that he could share these with Chen after they had their lunch. It was never too early for sweets wasn’t it? Finally he arrived back at the firm, almost expecting Sehun to jump out from behind a wall or door and surprise him and tell him that what he had said earlier was all a joke, but he did not. And before he knew it he was back at Chens' office. When he walked in he saw the same familiar sight that he had seen when he left, and that was Chen leaning forward over his desk, papers and photos scattered everywhere, his brow furrowed in concentration. “Hows it comin’ along.” Xiumin casually slipped through the door, closing it with a light press from his foot. “Eh, not as well as I’d hope.” Chen sat down in his chair, clearing off part of his desk to make room for the food. “Thanks.” He smiled as he took the sandwich that Xiumin handed out to him. “No problem.” Xiumin smiled back as he took the seat across the desk from the latter. Silence ensuing when they both began their casual feast. Xiumin looked out the window, watching birds flying past the window through the clearing sky. “Oh!” When Xiumin spoke suddenly Chen looked up in surprise, the wrapper of his sandwich being folded and thrown in the trash beside his desk. “I bought some sweets also, I thought you might like them.” He smiled and reached over to his bag, pulling the wrapped sweets looking absolutely delectable thanks to the packaging alone. “Wow those look amazing. Where’d you get them.” Chen asked, taking one of the packages from xiumins’ hand when he held it out. “Street vendor.” He watched as Chen didn't even hesitate to stuff the small créme puff in his mouth, an instant look of satisfaction crossing his face when he took a bite. "They taste good too." The smile on his face immediately reaching his eyes so that it gave him his signature cat-like smile which; Xiumin hated to admit, but thought looked really cute. Their little lunch seemed to race by and soon they found themselves back to working on their previous assignment. Even to Xiumin there were many places and events that just didn't add up. The different gangs and what looked like murders all seemed to be intertwined with one another with most of the deaths looking like a suicide or random street killing to that of the untrained eye, but he knew better. What stuck out the most to him was the fact that most all of them had the same thing in common, all the bodies had been moved from their original spots, the ground around them clean apart from the blood of course. He thought back to that chance encounter with Kai and his friends. How they just happened to be there at the right time when he, Kyungsoo and Sehun needed them. Were they tracking the other members of that group? The reds targeting the reds gang, much like he had seen with rivalries between other groups, only this was one group targeting its own. There were always jealousies between members of course, but he didn't think that this was a case of something like that. No, this was something much more and he wanted to get to the bottom of it all. If other members of the gangs were at risk that who's to say that his group was not also. "Xiumin?" He looked up suddenly when he heard Chens' voice speak quietly beside him, a sound of concern hidden in his tone, "You okay?" "Yeah, why." He blinked a couple times and stood up. "You were staring at the same picture for a long time, I assumed that you might've recognized someone." Huh? Why would Chen be worried about that, he was the police after all; and all these people were criminals, why would he care. Xiumin looked back down at what he had been zoning out on. "I just can't understand why people would do something like this." He stated blankly. Just as he was about to pull himself from his trance something caught his attention. This picture was one of the blacks' gang members and what Xiumin found weird was that he was not wearing his bandana...no, instead, it was in his hand. Something like that meant that he was in the company of someone he had been comfortable with. Something was definitely not right here, or in any of these pictures for that matter. ***Today Chen woke up early, his brain almost instantly awake as he turned off his alarm before it could sound and got in the shower. He had been anticipating looking at the new files that were coming in today. Everything that he had been working on these past couple weeks had been involvement with the mob, or at least, about the mob. Going over these files had given him so many thing to question, and most of them were left unanswerable, which he hated. Dressing quickly and grabbing his case, Chen headed for the office. The office was dark and quiet as he walked in, there was no one here but himself. He picked up the large package off the secretaries desk that he knew as none other than the files that were always sent to him and carried them to his office. Unlocking his door he let himself into the equally dark office, the beginning of the sunlight just barely peeking through the blinds of the window before he broke them off by turning on the light. He set the heavy box on the desk before flopping down in his chair, letting out a deep breath as he just sat still for a moment, mind blank as he stared at the unopened case files. It was going to be a long day. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Chen ran a hand through his hair as he looked once more at all the files spread out over his desk. All of this was a mess and he just wanted to figure it out and get it over with. Seeing as how this wasn’t just one gang, but a multitude of them made it even more of a problem. ‘What am I gonna do…’ Just then he heard the click of the door and he looked up, it was Xiumin. Just the others presence walking into the room already brightened his day. “Ah, Xiumin. What are you doing.” He mentally smacked himself, the other obviously worked here but for some reason, to Chen it still seemed unreal. “Bringing you your coffee?” Xiumin held up the same familiar cup that Chen had been seeing for the last couple years, the only difference was that this one didn’t have a sticky note on it. “Oh! Good good, bring it over here.” He motioned the other over with a wave of his hand as he took a seat once again. “What are you working on today.” Chen felt the weight of Xiumin sitting on the arm of his chair and he tried not to stare as the other looked down at the files that he had scattered all over his desk. “Just some underground activities that are a bit worrisome, but overall, everything is fine.” He smiled sheepishly as his eyes once again scanned over the files. “Is there anything I can help you with?” He heard Xiumin ask. He honestly didn’t know what to say, yes, no… he just wanted to figure all this out and put a stop to all the crazy shit that had been going on. He shook his head. “Nah,” he shook his head, “I think we got it all figured out.” “We?” He heard a piqued interest in Xiumins’ simple one word question. “Yeah, the company, but mostly Chanyeol and I. As much as I hate to say that Chanyeol has ever been helpful.” He couldn’t help but chuckle. He heard the others light chuckle accompany his and it made him smile. “Well…” he continued, “in any case; I don’t have any other smaller cases are the moment, would you like to help me work on his one.” Chen looked up and smiled, watching as slowly the others eyes rose to his. The other smiled back, his reply short and sweet. “Sure.” Chen watched him casually perch himself on the corner of the desk. “Where shall we start.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Chen was becoming increasingly stressed as they poured their way through the files, many different inner cases leading to nothing in particular. It was driving him mad, but there was no way he was going to let his boyfriend see that. He reached over, his hand skimming over a file that he felt that he had looked at before, which he most likely had and stared at the picture once again. He was just about to pick up another file when suddenly he felt something gently caress his cheek. He turned and found himself face to face with Xiumin who was only an inch away, looking somewhat surprised at what he had just done. Within a moment the surprised look morphed into a gentle smile. “It’s lunch time, can I get you anything.” ‘Oh,’ He didn’t even realize that it was close to lunch time. “Sure, something from Luhan and Tao’s sandwich shop sounds great.” “Alright, I’ll be back in a bit.” Chen didn’t miss the slight touch of the others hand as he pulled back. He hadn’t realized until then that he had become hyper aware of the others presence. “Don’t work too hard while I’m gone okay.” Not being able to resist the others smile, he smiled back. “Of course.” He watched as the other quietly made his way to the door and then disappeared out of the office. Why was it that whenever Xiumin was around he felt at ease. It was a nice change from what he had before. Someone loud and attention grabbing that had everyone shying away when the latter walked into the room. No, this was much calmer and more comfortable; and he liked it. Chen sat down in his chair, casually reclining as he ran his hands over his face. If he had gotten enough sleep he honestly couldn’t tell. Letting out a deep breath he looked at the pictures once again, his eye suddenly training on something in the picture. The area that one of the bodies was in looked awfully familiar; but yet, it wasn’t a place that someone from the mob would generally be in. This place looked like a more upscale area than their regular places. It just didn’t make sense. Why would they have traveled that far away from their territory. Suddenly he was pulled back to reality when he heard the phone ring. He jumped and answered with a stutter, “y-yeoboseyo.” “Mr Kim.” The ever so familiar voice of the Choi Siwan from Suju Corp. spoke through. “Mr. Choi, how are you.” “Fine thank you,” he replied, “I just wanted to let you know that there shall be a meeting amongst the police force for Asia and each head of their branch is to attend.” “Oh, where will this be held.” He asked, they had never had this before in all the while that he had owned his own business, was the crime rate really that bad that the entire upper force needed a meeting. “We will be holding it in main city Japan, in two weeks; where everyone will be able to reach. Please bring your top executive along with you as we need multiple views and perspective from those who have been involved with the recent increase in gang related violence.” “Yes sir, I will let them know.” “Good good. Please begin the compiling for abounding information so that you may be able to share it with the others. The meeting shall be in three weeks, please be ready, we shall be expecting you; as your sector has been the one majorly affected by this.” “Yes of course.” Chen nodded, not paying attention to the fact that the other could not see him through the phone. “I will begin making a file for the meeting. How many other upper executives would you like me to bring?” “You may choose whoever you like, but since I know you have a small company one is just fine.” “Alright. Thank you Mr. Choi ; if anything else happens please let me know.” “Will do Mr. Kim, goodbye.” Without another word he hung up. Chen set his phone down and tapped his fingers on the desk. It was just one thing after another wasn’t it. It made him wonder, when Mr. Choi said that his district was the one that had been greatly affected by this gang activity; did that mean that all of these killings were a way to somehow get his attention… or, the businesses attention at least. All along he had just seen the increase and had just assumed that it was becoming more normal day by day. All he wanted to do was figure out was going on behind the scenes of the mob and solve it before it trickled out into the public and hurt other people not involved. A little while later and Chen stood over his desk, his hands placed on two photos that looked so similar yet so different. He frowned. What was the connections among all these different gang members, and what was the reason for their deaths. It couldn’t just be betrayal and lack of trust could it? He was just about to take a deep breath and sigh when suddenly a voice spoke. “How’s it comin’ along.” He looked up quickly to find Xiumin come in and close the door smoothly behind himself with his hands full of different packages. “Eh, not as well as I’d hope.” He sat down with a huff and shoved the photographs out of the way so they’d have a place to eat. He then took the sandwich from xiumins’ hand that was offered out to him. “Thanks.” He smiled. “No problem.” Chen watched as xiumin sat in the chair across the desk from him but ultimately said nothing. They continued their meal in silence. Chen taking notice as Xiumin looked out the window. The sun lightly highlighting his features making his eyes look even brighter than usual, his cheek bones even more prominent and giving an overall gentle glow to his face. For once he looked at peace and it made Chens’ heart beat just a little too loudly for his own good. “Oh!” Chen suddenly crumpled his sandwich wrapper in surprise when Xiumin spoke suddenly and turned his way. He hadn’t noticed that Chen has been staring had he? Yeah they were dating but staring was such a stalker thing to do when you wouldn’t say anything to other person. He threw the wrapper in the trash beside his desk as Xiumin kept speaking. “I bought some sweets also, I thought you might like them. Xiumin smiled, reaching to his bag beside him and pulling out a couple bags of créme puffs. Chen couldn’t help himself from smiling at Xiumin who looked extremely happy with himself for getting the dessert. “Wow those look amazing. Where’d you get them.” He asked, grabbing the small package offered to him. “Street vendor.” Xiumin answered simply. Without missing a beat Chen all but shoved the créme puff into his mouth; the sweetness that suddenly sped throughout his mouth was heavenly. When finally he had enough room to speak he said, “they taste good too.” He couldn’t help himself but smile, the little puffs bringing a good feeling along with them and he couldn’t keep himself from smiling. Xiumin was such a blessing in disguise and the other himself didn’t even know it. Sure Xiumin was timid and didn’t like to be as open as others, but that didn’t mean he was a bad person. It was cute to Chen how Xiumins’ eyes would light up over the littlest things and that’s how you would know he was happy with something. God, the more he thought about it the more Chen felt like that sounded like a stalkerish thing to say… or maybe it was just him being paranoid. It seemed like in no time their lunch break had finished and they were once again back to the grueling task of piecing together a puzzle with missing pieces. As they worked their way thought the files Chen took one side and Xiumin took the other. The progress they made was basically silence and irritation at what lay before them, Chen sliding pictures and documents here and there as he tried to match them up but to no avail. Meanwhile he had noticed that Xiumin had stopped moving an was just staring at a picture in front of him for atleast a couple minutes. “Xiumin?” He watched the other suddenly come back to reality as his eyes refocused. “You okay?” He asked. “Yeah, why.” Xiumin blinked a couple times and then stood up straight once again. Something seemed to be bothering him, but Chen wasn’t going to be the one to pry into business that didn’t concern him. “You were staring at the same picture for a long time, I assumed that you might've recognized someone." "I just can't understand why people would do something like this." He watched as Xiumins’ expression stayed the same but his mind seemed to still be elsewhere. “Me either.” Chen looked back down at the pictures underneath his hand, wanting to say something comforting to Xiumin who seemed a bit distressed by all of this. Xiumin has a kinder heart than Chen had originally been lead on to know, but inside it seemed like things that hurt others affected Xiumin more than he let on. A couple minutes later and suddenly Xiumin spoke up again. “What’s your favorite season.” Catching Chen off guard he looked up, and even though he had heard the question clearly with his ears, his brain couldn’t seem to make sense of it. “What?” “What’s you’re favorite season.” This time Xiumin looked up at him and made direct eye contact. Chen didn’t know how to feel, was this a question or was he threatening him to answer. “Uh, I uh, don’t have one?” He didn’t know how to reply, he had never really thought about it before. “Why.” He asked. Xiumin shrugged, “just curious.”he looked back down then up again, “if you had to choose one which would you choose.” Chen tapped a finger to his chin, “I think fall.” “Why’s that.” So many questions all at once, Chen didn’t understand where this was going. “I think… because it’s when the weather starts getting colder, so you get to hold the people you love most closest to you.” “Ah.” Was the only reply he received. “What about you, what’s your favorite season.” Chen thought it was only fair if he got to ask the other the same question. “Hmm, I would say spring, because things are starting anew.” Xiumin turned to Chen and smiled. Chen almost couldn’t handle it, everything Xiumin said right now was very sweet and pure. “That’s a very optimistic way to look at it.” “Yeah? I guess so.” Xiumin smiled once more before silence passed between them once again. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Hours later Chen sat down in his chair with a sigh and ran his hand over his face in defeat, they had gone over everything and yet is seemed like they had gotten almost no progress. Xiumin sat down in the chair across from him and rubbed his eyes with his fingers; atleast Chen felt a little better knowing that he wasn’t the only one worn out with all this searching. “Well, I quit. There’s nothing more that I can find, you?” Chen looked up at Xiumin who shrugged, “nothing here either. What now.” “Nothing,” Chen replied in a disappointed tone, “We have nowhere to go with this so we just have to wait for more evidence.” Xiumin just nodded in reply. Chen watching as he shrugged off his jacket and let it fall on the back of the chair. “It’s warm in here isn’t it?” Xiumin waved a hand in front of his face as if it cool himself down. Now that Chen noticed, Xiumins’ cheeks did have a bit of a red tint to them. “I didn’t think it was too bad honestly.” He chuckled. “Oh really,” Xiumin smirked, “then why don’t you share your coolness with me.” Almost within an instant he was out of his chair and in front of Chen. Xiumins’ hand running along the back of Chens’ neck, warm fingers coasting over the cool skin of Chens’ neck. In a way it tickled but it almost made him shiver at the complete opposite of body temperatures. He felt Xiumins’ fingers gently caress their way back and forth across his neck and down to his collar bone where warm hands gently traced the line of his bones. Chen brought up his hands and caught Xiumins’ wrists, holding them so that they couldn’t venture any further, this was not good. Here he was getting excited in his office and it was all because Xiumin was trying to steal the coldness of his body. “You better be careful or things are going to get even more heated.” He smirked. Suddenly without warning he found xiumin slipping onto his lap, legs straddling his own. “But is that such a bad thing.” He heard a light chuckle followed by gentle press of the latters lips on his neck. “We are the only ones in the office aren’t we.” “Technically yes.” Chen was trying his best to assess the situation with his mind, but as the seconds passed it was becoming more and more difficult. “Then no one will know.” Xiumin pulled back just enough to give a light peck on Chens’ lips before taking a step back and sliding down to the floor on his knees in front of the others chair, his face level with Chens’ crotch. He had been right, things were getting heated very quickly. He grabbed Xiumins’ wrists as they began to undo the button of his pants and slide the zipper down halfway. “I don’t know about this.” “Then you’ll just have to trust me.” Xiumin smirked, this time leaning forward and pulling the zipper down the rest of the way with his teeth; casually pulling his wrists from the tight grasp that held them. His fingers lightly sliding over the now exposed underwear. He had a mischievous grin on his face and lust in his eyes as he applied more pressure each time, waiting for the others reaction while he played. He seemed to be enjoying this just as much as Chen was, although Chen hated to admit it. Without even a hesitation Xiumin slowly slid his fingers to the upper edge of Chens’ boxers, lightly brushing over the latters hip bones and lower abdominal muscles. In an instant he pulled the underwear down to expose Chens’ hot flesh to the cool air of the room. Now he understood what Xiumin was feeling when he said it was warm in the room, although it seemed to have raised at least ten degrees more within the last minute. His hand smoothly wrapping around Chens’ hard cock as he tentatively licked the head; his face showing a look of instant gratification. He seemed like he knew what he wanted and Chen wasn’t going to stop him now. Moving forward, he slowly let his mouth envelope the hot member, pushing it deeper and deeper until he couldn’t take anymore in. Reversing slowly, he looked up to watch Chens’ expressions change as he once again revered, his mouth moving faster and faster. He could tell that the other was enjoying it by the quiet sounds that escaped his lips as he continued the teasing ministrations while his hand worked itself faster, Xiumin moaning around his cock turning him on even more. Xiumin quickened his pace, tongue playing along the underside vein with every upward motion and Chen could feel himself getting closer to release, any second and he would be finished. Suddenly the door slammed open and Chanyeol barged in. Chen and Xiumin both stilling in an instant. Of all the times for Chanyeol to show up, Chen thought this was one of the worst. Chanyeol stopped short, seeing Chen staring at him. “Hey man, you okay?” “I think so, I might have a fever though.” Chen quickly tried to make up an excuse just in case his face might be a little red. “Oh, you should probably go home then.” Chanyeol came to sit down across from Chen. Chen trying his best not to look down at Xiumin who still had his mouth wrapped around Chens’ dick. “What are you working on, are these all the files we were looking at for the mob cases?” Chanyeol moved some of the pictures as he looked closer at them as if to establish to himself that he had in fact seen them before. Just as he began to speak again Chen felt Xiumins’ mouth move again. Chen couldn’t stop his hand from immediately reaching down to try to pull the other away, but felt a hand cover his and move it to the latters hair, pushing against it as if to spur himself forward to take Chen deeper into his mouth and far enough to touch the back of his throat. Chanyeol seemed oblivious to this as he continued looking at the pictures. “So, What did you want Chanyeol.” Chen finally spoke, catching the other off guard and trying not to wince as he felt a slight graze of Xiumins teeth. “Oh, I was wondering if I could have next Friday off. I really wanted to take Baekhyun on a date and didn’t think he would want to keep going on dates at night with me because, well I-“ “Okay that’s enough.” Chen cut him off as soon as a mischievous grin started to cover the latters face. “I don’t need to hear every detail of your love life” he couldn’t believe he was actually saying this as he sat in this chair across from Chanyeol while his own boyfriend was sucking him off with the other legitimately in the same room. “So what what do ya say.” Chanyeol smiled in excitement. Chen literally didn’t care at this moment, all he wanted was for Chanyeol to leave. “ sure, do whatever you want.” He tried his best to sound the same as he always did. “Now get out,” he waved his towards the door, putting a hand over his face and leaning an elbow against the desk. “Cool! Thanks man, you’re the best.” Chanyeol headed towards the door, turning around just before leaving, “You should really go home, you don’t look so good.” Not saying anything Chen just waved Chanyeol away and the other practically skipped out of the office, the door closing loudly behind him. “Fuck!” Chen looked down, his eyes meeting with Xiumins’ as the other began to quicken his mouth, Chen no longer begin able to hold back, his hand firmly gripping the others hair as to not let him escape while pushing him to go faster. Finally he felt what he had been holding back rushing to release and he couldn’t stop himself from cumming in the others mouth. He watched as Xiumin pulled back, swallowing and licking his lips as he looked up. He was going to be the death of Chen and he honestly didn’t know if he could handle this fiery red head. “That was close, what were you thinking.” Chen quickly zipped and buttoned his pants, standing up and beginning to grab the files on the desk and putting them back in the various boxes before locking them away one of the file cabinets. “Well I thought it was pretty obvious.” Xiumin smirked as Chen walked back over. “We could always continue at your place.” Xiumins hand came up, playing itself up and down along Chens tie until it slowly reached its way up to the back of his neck, lips a breath away from the others. That honestly didn’t seem like a bad idea. Not to mention, Chanyeol thought he was sick, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he were to go home now anyway. “Yes, why don’t we do that.” They leaned in closer, lips almost touching when suddenly Xiumins’ phone went off. They paused for a moment before the latter pulled away with a sigh and answered his phone. “Yeoboseyo… uh yeah, no no, I can do that. Where? Okay, I’ll see you in a second.” He hung up, seeming somewhat irritated but otherwise indifferent. He looked back at Chen. “Kyungsoo needs my help, looks like I can’t come over.” Chen actually felt a little disappointed, but knew that Kyungsoo was very important to Xiumin, so he wouldn’t try to convince him of coming anyway and ditching the other. “But you should still go home, maybe catch up on some sleep.” He chuckled. “Yeah,” Chen let out a light chuckled as well, “maybe next time then.” “I’ll see you later,” Xiumin walked over and gave Chen a gentle peck on the lips before grabbing his things and going out the door. Today was just one big roller coaster and he didn’t even know where to start. From there he packed up his things and headed home. Even though they didn’t get much progress on the mob case it had been an interesting time in the office. Hopefully what he had agreed to for Chanyeol to go on a date with baekhyun next week would pay off for him and Chen would get something in return from the stupid giant. ***Xiumin almost couldn’t believe himself. What had he done in the office. He shook his head as he walked to the place that he was supposed to meet Kyungsoo. It was obviously a lapse in judgement. He did get what he was looking for though. He pulled out one of the pictures that had been on the desk, this picture, unlike all the others gave a clear depiction that the blacks gang was behind this and that’s one thing he wanted to steer clear of, the police knowing. He had slipped it into his bag when he kneeled onto the floor, Chen had had no idea. But really, did he have to go as far as he did? Probably not. But he obviously wasn’t taking any chances. Luckily he had gotten that phone call when he did. Sure he didn’t mind sleeping with Chen but now was not the time to be distracted by other things when he had a mission to do. Tightly pulling his bag to the side he came up to an ever familiar alleyway and saw other familiar shapes standing with Kyungsoo. One of them of which was Kai. The others were the same people that had helped them fight during the time that he, Sehun and Kai had been cornered. It was weird seeing Kyungsoo associate so closely like this. He was really playing a dangerous game. ‘Says the one who is playing the cop and the robber.’ He thought to himself. Quickly shoving the already crumpled picture back down into his bag he walked up to the waiting group. “Wow,” Kyungsoo spoke immediately, “that was fast.” Xiumin smirked and chuckled, “I have my ways.” He saw as Kyungsoo rolled his eyes and and the rest gave light chuckles amongst themselves. Good to know that they were a comical pair to the others. “So what’s up, what’s the urgency.” “Well, Kai contacted me after they had been out patrolling last night and came across some of the other members of the reds gang teaming up on some of the purpled gang. Not to mention, one of the members dropped this when they vacated after having their fun.” Kyungsoo pulled out a blue bandana and handed it to Xiumin. There was an obvious blood stain that looked old but covered a good portion of the bandana. This spelled bad news. No mobster was to ever go anywhere without their bandana as it was their representation of where they were from. But the blood could only mean one thing and it wasn’t good. Were the reds terrorizing other gangs as well as the blacks gang had been. Something was not right here and it only seemed to be escalating. He didn’t like this at all. “What do you think is going on.” He asked, more towards Kai and the others than to Kyungsoo. “Well, seeing as how the reds are basically threatening the members of other mobs that means something’s up.” Kai spoke definitely. “I don’t think the smaller mobs can withhold their powers if things keep going at such an alarming rate between the reds and the blacks rivalry.” The blonde spoke suddenly and everyone else agreed. He was right, these two mobs seemed to have it out for each other, and anyone who got in their way would be crushed. “What should we do.” Xiumin handed the bandana back, he didn’t know what use it would be to him to hold onto it. “I feel like we should try to convince the ones being threatened to join us and build a force to protect the others. The brown haired guy with the two bandanas on his wrists spoke up next. The tallest letting out a snort and rolling his eyes. “Oh yeah, and how do you think that’d fare us, they wouldn’t leave their safe group just to join the rebels because it ‘might be’ safer.” “Minho holds a good point Onew.” The one with the beanie speaking up next. “They won’t want to leave what they know for unknown territory. You’ve seen what happens to deserters.” With this statement they all nodded in agreement. As mobsters they all knew exactly how things went when the mob thought you were unfaithful. “You’re right.” Onew looked down in defeat. “But it wouldn’t hurt to try.” No one said anything after this, a silence settling over the group as no one made eye contact except Xiumin and Kyungsoo. “So now what.” With all this information and nowhere to go with it, what were they supposed to do from here. “I have a couple leads but it’s just mostly hunches or where people will be at what time.” Xiumin nodded, oh how he wished that Sehun was in on this plan as well. With all the knowledge he had then they’d almost be smooth sailing. “What are you planning to do, catch them.” Xiumin watched everyone’s expressions change as he spoke, obviously they had never heard him with such a skeptical tone. “Well…” Kyungsoo trailed off, “in a sense. Xiumin replied with a simple raise of his eyebrow. “Not necessarily catch them physically, but in the act; and hopefully we can start convincing the others by revealing their peers.” Xiumin let out a deep sigh and crossed his arms, “the only way you’d be able to do that is if they didn’t know you, but you’re literally the top tier dude, everyone knows who you are. And even when you reveal who they are who’s to say that they don’t come after you for revenge, hmm?” Every alternative to this situation was a negative and Xiumin didn’t know how else to portray the fact that they were in a losing battle. But, as Onew said, it wouldn’t hurt to try. He watched everyone look at Kyungsoo who obviously accepted defeat and nodded. “But.” They all turned back to Xiumin, kyungsoos’ head popping back up when he suddenly spoke. “We can do what we can for now and go from there.” He cracked a small smile for Kyungsoo. “Then it’s settled.” Kyungsoo beamed, “let’s stake out tonight.” He looked back at the others who nodded in agreement. “Alright, let's do it.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Hours later and here they were, in a sketchy part of town freezing their butts off while waiting for anything. The part that Xiumin hated most was the fact that they were all crammed together on the top of one of the buildings, a single pair of binoculars being passed between them all. “Well this is boring.” The blonde commented, rolling his eyes. “Think of it as an adventure.” The shortest of the group chuckled and elbowed the latter who was next to him. “The only adventure I’ll have is pushing you off the edge.” The blonde laughed, only to be instantly hushed by the others. “Look,” Kyungsoo pointed,” there’s a shadow coming this way.” They all sat in silence as they waited for the body to follow that of the shadow into their sight. Anticipation riding high as Xiumin took the binoculars from Kyungsoo and watched closely. Maybe it was a patrol, but which mob patrolled this area. He was unfamiliar with it, but judging by the others seeming to know the area he assumed that this was the reds territory; and if it was, then that meant that if Xiumin and Kyungsoo were to get caught they’d be royally fucked. Not that the others wouldn’t, seeing as how they were deserters to the cause. As they watched Xiumin noticed that the shadow was unnecessarily smaller than what a regular human should be. There was a crunching noise and all of a sudden, a black cat jumped out from behind one of the trash cans, making the member with a beanie that was next to him jump a little. Xiumin couldn’t help himself from smiling. Gang members shouldn’t be afraid of something like that. But then again, these kids were obviously still new to the mobster scene. They all visibly lost their tense body forms once they saw the cat steal something from behind another can and then take off down another alleyway. “Well this is a bust.” Kai commented. “Yeah... maybe we’ll have better luck tomorrow.” The boy with the beanie added. Kyungsoo and Xiumin looked at one another. They wanted to do this again? As if this time wasn’t dangerous enough for the lot, and they wanted to do it again. Kyungsoo gave him a hopeful gaze and Xiumin assumed that he was mentally asking him to do it again the next night, but in return he just received a look of dissatisfaction. Xiumin watched as kai was just about to stand up when suddenly Xiumins’ ear caught a sound that he recognized so he pulled the other down quickly and gave the shushing sign when the other looked like he was about to speak up. Quietly pointing to the alleyway, the group all looked and sure enough a couple people stepped out. Immediately they all recognized the ever-familiar red colored bandanas, one of which was tied around the arm of one and the other with the banana tied around his head. Between the two there was another man, the man being dragged by the arms, obviously unconscious, a yellow bandana tied around his upper arm. Xiumin noticed that the man was bleeding and looked to be in pretty bad shape. The two men threw the one between them to the ground in a not so gentle manner and that’s when he got a better look at his face. Bruises covering almost every part, and what wasn’t bruising was bloody, one eye black and the other swollen. They all watched silently as the two proceeded to beat the already senseless man into an oblivious state. The other man was in no way fighting back; but they obviously couldn’t help him if they wanted their identities to stay a secret. As they all watched the continued violence Xiumin looked down their little line of people and noticed that all the other people apart from Kyungsoo looked like they wanted to do something but felt regret that they couldn’t. He almost felt compassion for them, but he knew that this was no time to get sentimental. Finally he had had enough of watching. He turned to Kai and whispered. “Kai, give me your bandana.” For a moment the latter looked dumbfounded but then took it off and handed it to Xiumin when he gave an ushered sign to hurry up. “Kyungsoo, get one.” Without needing to ask what Kyungsoo immediately reached over to the shortest member and tapped his shoulder, pointing to his bandana. The other not hesitating as he took it off and handed it to the latter. “Look, we’re gonna play a little game of cat and mouse.” By this time he had everyone’s attention. Kyungsoo tying the bandana over his nose and mouth. “Kyungsoo and I are gonna lead them away, two of you will go check on him and bring him with you if he’s in good enough shape, otherwise leave him.” No one spoke, just nodding at Xiumins’ serious tone. “For the rest of you,” he smirked before tying the bandana around his head to cover his nose and mouth,”just try to keep up.” He looked to Kyungsoo who nodded. Xiumin grabbed one of the larger rocks off the roof, his fist balled tight around the dull object as they stood up. He threw the rock off in a direction down towards an intersecting alleyway, wasting no time to take off once he saw them turn to look at what the sound was. He didn’t want to take any chances in them seeing the others that were still on the roof. He heard Kyungsoos’ running footsteps right along with his as they jumped from building to building, the distinct clatter of feet could be heard from below them, and sure enough Xiumin looked down only to see the two men following them closely while on the ground below them. Soon they were swinging their way up the ladders and onto the rooftops behind them. The larger one was the obvious leader as he told the other to split as they ran. One man each to chase the runners. Xiumin looked over at Kyungsoo who matched his eyes and just waved a hand once before taking off faster towards the tops of other buildings. It was all him now. Now all he had was to focus on the man pursuing him. This should be a breeze seeing as how the man was larger and didn’t seem to be able to run as fast as the other. Xiumin feeling his breathing increasing rapidly as the chase kept on. The other man didn’t seem like he was ever going to give up. By this time he had lost all sight of Kyungsoo and could only hope for the best from now on. His eyes trailing back to the man who was catching up on him. He needed to come up with a plan and fast or else he was going to be a dead man. Quickly he ran to the edge of one building, seeing a ladder on the other side; the jump didn’t seem to far so he took it. His hands and feet immediately finding purchase as he put his hands on the sides along with his feet, letting himself slide down until the ladder ended and he had to jump down. Without even looking back he continued his run, being able to hear the man landing on the ladder as well except with his weight it slid down by itself. Now as Xiumin ran he found himself in a maze of alleyways that he of course was unfamiliar with. Suddenly he heard something crash behind him and he looked just in time to see a bottle fly from a building above and shatter right in front of the man. He looked up to see the blonde with an armful of glass bottles and his other arm throwing them at full speed as he ran along with them. Again and again the bottles shattered around or on the head of the man who began to bleed from his scalp. This seemed to deter him, but not as much as Xiumin would have liked. He could hear the man swearing and turned around one more time to see that the blonde had run out of bottles; in turn giving a thumbs up and turning to run off in another direction and out of Xiumins’ sight. Xiumin smiled, the others were genuinely good people. They didn’t deserve the mob life, they deserved something better. Refocusing on his mission he noticed the reason the blonde had giving him that sign, it was because they were coming to a busy area, this way he could lose him in the crowd at least. He suddenly felt a burst of energy and he headed straight for the street. Because of his small size he easily moved through the crowd, hearing people behind him being pushed to the ground and out of the way as his pursuer followed closely. Quickly he came up to a cross walk where people had all crowded and were waiting to cross the street when the light changed. The people watching the red light stay red as traffic passed but he didn’t have time for this. He burst through the crowd and heard people shouting for him to be careful. He assumed that some probably thought he was crazy and trying to commit suicide, but he had other ideas. Just as he thought, the other man followed him right out into the street, tire screeching as cars were trying their best to come to a complete stop by not hitting either of the people now running across the street. Xiumin dodged his way around cars and trucks, easily keeping up with the ever-moving flow of traffic, but the other man seemed to be having some trouble as he at one point ran headlong into the side of a taxi cab, only to get back up again and run around the car to continue his path to his target. He narrowly avoided a motorcycle that whizzed by and when he turned around he saw how close the other had become, only a cars length separated them and now every moment was crucial to his survival. There was no way out from here except through the moving traffic, and honestly he’d rather die by car than get caught and suffer the torture that he had seen others go through. Spinning on his heel he took off once again, aiming for the other side of the road. One more dodge from a car and he stopped only in time to watch the other man get hit by an oncoming bus, the man rolling away from the bus, barely getting up before a car that didn’t have time to stop ran him right over. It almost seemed unreal, everything slowing down as he watched the car driver getting out to check and see if the man was okay. But of course, there was no response, he was dead. He didn't wait as he listened to the people calling for someone to call an ambulance and kept on his way, safely making it across the road and to the other side. When finally he was far enough away he pulled off the bandana and stuffed it into his jacket pocket. Now he would have to get rid of these clothes if the person chasing Kyungsoo had seen him. ‘Damn,’ He thought, ‘and I liked this jacket a lot.’ He took a deep breath, ‘now what’. How was he going to find the others. Obviously he couldn’t go back to where they had been. That would be too dangerous. Almost as if on cue the blonde casually strolled up and sat down beside him with a satisfied smile; hands casually in his jacket pockets as he crossed one leg over the other and looked up at the night sky. “That was pretty cool dude, no wonder you’re a top tier gangster.” Wait, how did he know that. No one was supposed to know that except... Kyungsoo... he's the only one who would have told anyone. But honestly, he didn’t get into the position he was in because of his fighting and running abilities, no, he was basically sold off and it was all about timing and luck. “Uh, thanks. Were you following me the whole time?” He turned to look at the blonde who was still smiling. “Yeah, well...except for the time where I lost you because you were running too fast for me.” He chuckled. He almost couldn’t believe it. Did they have a tier system where they got into the place they were because of their physical abilities? If it had been that way for him then he probably wouldn’t have been where he was now. “Do you know where the others are.” Xiumin looked around them as if he were scouting out more enemies. But he knew that all he could do was wait for Kyungsoo. And if he had been helped along by this one here then there was no doubt that the others were helping Kyungsoo as well. Not to mention, Kai was always watching over Kyungsoo since he had found out that they were both gang members. It was weird to Xiumin but he was happy for the two. “Ah, there they are.” The blonde casually stated as he stood and waved them over. It was almost as if they had all planned this without him and he had been the one out of the loop. They all jogged up, Kyungsoo immediately taking off the bandana and stuffing it in his pocket. “Xiumin, where’s your man.” He looked around as he began to catch his breath. Pointing with a thumb casually over his shoulder he stated calmly, “He decided to take the one-way cab to his death sentence.” He heard the blonde laugh and Kyungsoo smirked. “And yours?” “Missing manhole covers, Taemin decided that breaking his ankle was the best option, and from there he couldn’t jump over the hole, so he uh...fell?” Kyungsoo shrugged as if this was a surprise. “Ah, I see.”Xiumin chuckled. “Taemin, where’s Jonghyun and Minho.” The blonde spoke to the one with the beanie who replied with a shrug. “They said they were going to dispose of the body, the guy wasn’t in good shape and Minho didn’t think he would survive even if he helped him. “How’re you holding up Onew.” The blonde turned to the one with the two bandanas on his wrists. “Fine, I didn’t have to carry the body so I'm great.” He beamed. He seemed way too happy about this situation. “Although, they should be here soon I think.” In a matter of about five minutes and the other two came casually walking up to them. “Hey, you finally made it.” Onew piped up. “Yeah, god that guy was heavy, a literal dead weight.” The shortest turned to highfive the tallest as they laughed at the horrible joke. “Jong you have blood all over your face.” The blonde immediately began smearing the already messy blood as he tried to clean it off. “Can you not Key, it’s not that bad.” The shortest batting at the blonde like a little kid trying to get their mom to stop from licking their finger and wiping their face. It was almost comical. Meanwhile the one in the beanie, Taemin, just laughed at the tallest, Minho and told him that he looked like shit while he laughed. There was some weird shit going on here and Xiumin did not want to be involved. And from the looks of it, he and Onew were the odd men out, seeing as how Kyungsoo and Kai were talking together. He walked over to the man standing by himself and began to speak. “Is it always like this.” He chuckled. “Worse.” The other chucking as well as they watched the couples group together and talk about different things as if the event that had just happened had never even occurred. “So, who’s the leader here.” Silence… “oh,” realization hit Xiumin as Onew looked down, “don’t tell me, it’s you isn’t it.” Onew nodded his head but didn’t look up. “Oh you poor poor man.” This made the other laugh. “And you? Which ones the leader.” “Well actually, our leader is still the big boss. But, if there was just the three of us I’d have to say Sehun.” Since he knew that they knew who Sehun was, and the attitude he harbored they would understand if he said him. “Ah yes, I see that. He does have that air about him doesn’t he.” Onew nodded. “Yep.” Xiumin agreed. “Thanks for helping us out by the way.” It honestly felt weird thanking someone else, he was so used to it being just the couple of them depending on one another and not expecting anything in return. “No problem. We’ll be here if you ever need us.” Onew smiled and Xiumin couldn’t help but smile in return. “Kyungsoo, it’s time for us to go.” Xiumin pulled out the bandana and handed it to Kai as he walked over, Kyungsoo handing the bandana he borrowed back to the shortest member, Jonghyun. “We’ve got what we wanted, now we should go home.” “Alright.” “Thanks everyone, I hope that we can figure this all out and get rid of this threat before it begins to spread.” They all nodded at Xiumins’ statement and waved as he began to walk off. He turned just in time enough to see Kai lean down and kiss Kyungsoos’ cheek before the other took off after Xiumin. When finally the other caught up Xiumin spoke. “You need to be more careful from now on.” “What? Why?” “Kai cares a lot about you so you better not die.” Xiumin chuckled as the latter looked surprised at this statement. Was it so weird for something caring to come out of his mouth? “Yeah you better watch it too.” Kyungsoo bumped him with his elbow as he chuckled, “you’re not allowed to die either, I need you yanno, and some other people do too.” “Yeah yeah,” Xiumin rolled his eyes and smiled. He wasn’t here because he thought he had a future, it was because he was to help others be happier than he was. “I think I’ve had a long enough day, how bout we get some food and then go home.” “Sounds good to me.” Kyungsoo agreed. “To food it is then.” Now that Xiumin knew that the blacks gang weren’t the only ones taking out their own people it really gave an insight about how bad the gangs were becoming from the inside out , and yet he couldn’t do anything to stop it, although, he was going to try. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~The next day started the same as the day before and Xiumin was once again greeted by Sarah waking him up abruptly along with a slobbering tongue that was followed by a short and hungry dog trying to tell him that it was breakfast time. “I’m sorry. I just realized that you don’t work today. You can go back to sleep if you like.” He yawned and sat up, stretching his tired limbs, feeling his legs being sore from last night. “Nah that’s okay,” he ran a hand through his already messy hair, “might as well keep a schedule.” He chuckled as he followed her into the kitchen. “That sounds smart.” She smiled, sliding a plate in front of him as he sat down. “Mmm, it smells so good.” He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he inhaled the sweet fragrance of the eggs and toast on his plate. “Glad you like it.” Sarah sat down only to be followed by Furgus who now occupied his own chair at the table, a plate in front of him untouched as he waited for Sarahs’ okay. “Eat up.” With these words Furgus was digging in. The plate clean in no time with nothing left. Xiumin was still so surprised at how quickly and how smart Furgus was. “So what are you gonna do today then.” Sarah asked, stuffing her face with her breakfast. “Now that I know some shady shit is going down in the mobs I think I’m going to try to talk to Sehun about it and see if he’ll help Kyungsoo and I solve this before it escalates and hurts people that aren’t involved.” Sarah nodded. He much assumed that she knew exactly what he was getting at. Knowing first hand exactly how the mob worked made something like this come as no surprise. “What about you? What are your plans for today.” “Well,” Sarah tapped her chin for a moment, “Amber said the girls were gonna have a day out and about so I might join them. Plus, Furgus has been ancy since we’ve been staying inside.” She giggled as they looked over and saw that dog was waiting for more food from both people so he was looking back and forth between the two. “You should totally do it,” He smiled as he finished his food, “go out and have fun, you should do something outside the house you know.” He chuckled. “Hey, you know that I can go out if I want.” she picked up some of her eggs and tossed it at him, making them both laugh as Furgus reached as far as he could for the food on the table but struggled and couldn’t; Xiumin finally pushing it over into his reach. “Yeah yeah I know.” He chuckled, “but really, go have fun today.” He smiled. “Okay okay I will.” They finished quickly, washing and putting away the dishes before parting ways as Sarah got ready and Xiumin took a casual seat on the couch to watch some tv. It felt weird sitting still for what seemed like so long to him. He’d been running between his job and the mob for such a long time that not doing or planning anything just didn’t feel right. “Okay I’m leaving.” He looked over and saw as Sarah was putting Furgus’ harness on, the dog jumping around excitedly since he knew exactly what the harness meant. Furgus ran over to Xiumin and jumped on his lap, making him smile and dodge the dogs’ tongue as he tried to lick the other. “If you do anything let me know okay.” Sarah smiled and hugged Xiumin as he stood up. “Will do, although I will probably stay inside all day.” She nodded, finally being led away when Furgus pulled on his leash to get her attention. “I'll see you later then okay.” “Sounds good, bye!” he waved at her as she gave one last wave before going out the door. She was always so bright and when he looked at her, he almost felt like things would be okay in the end. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Many hours later and Xiumin found himself dozing off lightly on the couch as the movie he had been watching played in the background. That was funny, he didn’t even remember being this tired. Why was his body feeling like it needed sleep. Just as he was about to go back to sleep his phone rang, the abrupt sound making his hand slip from his cheek and cause his head to jerk, making him fully awake. His hand searching for his phone through his blankets before picking up. ‘I wonder if its Sarah.’ He thought, answering without even looking at the ID. “Yeoboseyo.” “Xiumin.” Kyungsoos’ voice immediately being one that Xiumin recognized. “Kyungsoo, what’s up.” “Sehun just called me and said that the Dom wanted to meet with us at the compound in two hours.” “Did he say why?” “No, nothing. Just that we need to be there.” Xiumin could hear the worry in Kyungsoos’ voice and he understood completely. Did this mean that the Dom had found out about them in being in enemy territory and he was taking that as a sign of deserting. What were they going to do? Or a better question would be, what was the Dom going to do to them? He pursed his lips as he stood. “Meet me in the park half an hour before and we’ll go together.” “Okay.” the simple answer leaving Kyungsoos’ lips before the other immediately hung up. Xiumins’ anxieties immediately rising at the fact that Kyungsoo had been told nothing.; and of course Sehun couldn’t give them any information. What would happen to Sehun anyway; he was the Doms’ right hand man that was for sure, but that never would never stop the Dom from executing one of his own, even if it meant the one person he depended on the most. The more that Xiumin thought about it the more he realized that out of all of them, he was the only one with nothing to lose. With how things had gone on circumstances came to the point where Kyungsoo had kai and Sehun had Luhan; but he had no one. Sure he had Sarah, but it wasn’t the same, yeah they were like family, but he knew that she was strong enough to move on without him if things came down to the point where he would no longer be around. He wasn’t sure how the others would be, not to mention the fact that Luhan and Kai were friends with the other two as well, so not only would they be losing a loved one, but a friend as well. Running a hand through his hair he began to think up a plan if things got out of hand and they had to escape for their lives. Things had just gotten so much more complicated than he had originally anticipated and at this point he didn’t know what he was going to do. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~An hour and a half later Xiumin arrived at the park, Kyungsoo already sitting on one of the benches. He noticed that as he approached the other jumped at the sound of his footsteps. It was obvious that he was just as nervous as Xiumin was. It took a lot to move Kyungsoo into being scared but this time seemed to be one of those moments. “Ah, Xiumin, you’re here.” Xumin nodded and sat down beside the other. “Nervous?” He jokingly jabbed. “A-a little. You?” Kyungsoo didn’t look up from his hands as he replied. “Yes and no. I’m not expecting anything so I’m keeping my calm... More than someone else I see.” Xiumin chuckled and Kyungsoo looked up with a smile before smacking Xiumins’ shoulder. “Shall we go then.” “Yes let’s.” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Walking up to the compound seemed even more stressful once they arrived. Although on the outside they didn’t let on. They strolled in like their usual selves. Although he assumed that they looked much better this time walking in than they had the last time. Atleast this time they didn’t look like they had gotten the shit beat out of them. The two were silent as they made their way down the ever-familiar halls to the Doms’ main room. As per the usual there were two people standing outside the door, those of which had to give you the okay to go in. With how many times Xiumin, Kyungsoo and Sehun had gone in and out of those doors Xiumin wasn’t surprised if they were sick of seeing them at this point. “Here to see the Dom.” Xiumin spoke confidently. There was no way he was going to let on that he had any nerves at all. Without a word one of the men gave two loud knocks on the door, an immediate answer wanting to know who it was coming from the other side. “It’s your top ranks.” The man spoke loudly while looking directly at Xiumin who just stared. “Let them in.” Came as a reply immediately. The men both grabbing one door and letting the two in, closing them soundly behind them. The first person they saw was the Dom sitting in the chair behind his desk and Sehun standing beside him, leaning forward as if he had been speaking in the Doms’ ear. ‘Don’t tell me, Sehun is ratting us out to save his own skin.’ If that was the case then Xiumin was surprised yet not. This was the mob after all, you had to sacrifice others in order to save yourself. “Ah,” The Dom looked up, hands immediately clasping infront of him on the desk. “Welcome boys. Come forward.” Silently they both did. The air didn’t feel like anything and that caught him off guard; no tension, anger, or suspicion. He didn’t know what he expected, but it definitely wasn’t this. The Dom stood up and walked over to them. Sehun once again standing up straight with his hands behind his back, but no expression change. “I bet you’re wondering why I called you here today.” He paused and smiled at the two as he walked back and forth in front of them. “Well, I’ll cut right to the chase.” ‘Fuck,’ He thought, ‘He’s onto us.’ “It seems like we’ve had some miscommunications between some of our members and it honestly worries me.” The Dom stopped his pacing, “So today there’s gonna be some trials going on and I want you present.” Wait, what? Of course they would be present for their own execution. Xiumin didn’t understand but said nothing. “I just want to make sure that they know who’s in charge here and that whatever orders I give to you that they are to follow as well will be followed undoubtedly when coming from your mouths.” “What do you mean sir.” Kyungsoo spoke suddenly. The Dom smiled. “Well you see, a couple of our lower ranking members haven’t been listening to their authority figures, so...because I don’t want there to be any question in judgement from them to you, I want you to show today what your status really means to them. You are my top ranks, and I don’t want them to question you in anyway. And these trials will let the rest of this gang know as well.” Suddenly it all made sense and Xiumin didn’t like where this was going, and if he was guessing right then... “Bring them in.” The sudden opening of the doors and shuffling feet brought his attention back to reality and he looked over just in time to see atleast three, no, four men being pushed and dragged into the room. Their mouths tied and hands bound, fear present in their eyes as they were shoved to their knees in front of Kyungsoo and Xiumin. The Dom causally walked over to his desk, the drawer being pulled open and closed once again; Xiumin’ could hear the loading of a gun as the Dom walked behind the group of the four men. “Now I know that you have been warned countless times about disrespecting your superiors and we have given you the benefit of the doubt to change your ways, and you have not. So my friends, your leaders here will be giving you the option of life of death based on what they feel is necessary to your...circumstance.” Xiumin didn’t like the tone of voice he was using, and frankly he was probably just as scared as they were at this moment, the only difference was that he refused to show it. When the Dom looked away he took this time to glance at Kyungsoo, but as expected, his face was that of a cold and unfeeling man. It was crazy how the three of them; Kyungsoo, Sehun and himself had conditioned themselves to the point where changing from any emotion to lack-there-of had become almost second nature. He heard the Doms’ footsteps calmly making their way over to where they stood beside Xiumin. He didn’t turn to look but all of a sudden he felt the barrel of the gun being held against his temple. The movement so quick that he didn’t even have time to flinch, much less process what had just happened. His blood turned cold, he was going to be an example afterall it looked like. Keeping his calm he breathed in and out slowly, his face a never ending gaze of blank stares and empty feelings. He watched the looks of terror cross their faces as he raised his head just enough to look as though he were being tough in this situation and not as if he were feeling that the Dom was going to blow his brains out any second. The silence lengthened and for a moment Xiumin though he was going to have to start praying for his life, but in the next moment the Dom spoke. “See that, no fear.” He let the gun drop from Xiumins’ temple and back to his side. “You need to be willing to do anything for your leaders, and if not, then you are no longer necessary. They cover a lot for you, so you need to know when to keep your mouth shut and listen.” The Doms words becoming sharp as he spat them out, his obvious discontent being heard through his choice of words. “Now,” Xiumin suddenly felt the Dom put the gun in his hand and he looked over as the other smiled before looking back down at the men kneeling, “Your fate, is in his hands.” Casually the Dom raised Xiumins’ arm until it pointed at the man infront of him. “Show me what you can do.” The Dom whispered, pulling back and walking to stand behind the four and watch. Was this all just a game that he was playing, sure he knew things in the mob could get twisted, but was he just making these two do his job for him before he ended them too? Once again the silence ensued and they all just stood completely motionless. Xiumin knew what the Dom was hinting at, but at the same time he said he was letting them choose, but that definitely had to be a joke. There was absolutely no way that he would actually be letting them choose the fate of people he already deemed punishable. Another minute passed and he watched as the four men began to squirm, tears coming to their eyes as they stared at him, knowing full well that he had the power to end it all for them. He was about to let his arm fall but when he looked up he saw the Dom smiling and giving a motion for him to pull the trigger. Of course. Of course he would want that, this was all a game to him after all. As he looked at this situation it was clear to him, there was no way out of this. He only had one choice to make, and that choice had already been chosen by the Dom. The sign of which he was signaling right now. He felt himself blink slowly as if time were standing still all of a sudden and let his finger pull the trigger. Blood splattering on Xiumin, Kyungsoo, and the man next to the one he had just shot. The hole in the mans’ head from where the bullet went right through was beginning to drip blood, Xiumins’ hand still lined up with the bullet hole; his eyes watching over the barrel as the man slumped forward and then flopped to the ground. He had done it, he had killed a man in cold blood. He couldn’t believe it or himself, now...now he was a murderer. Xiumin felt Kyungsoo stiffen next to him and honestly couldn’t blame him. A moment of silence passed and then the Dom spoke again. “Looks like that’s one down, now for the rest.” In that moment Xiumin had forgotten about all the others also kneeling on the ground, his minds’ eye had only been fixed on the person who was before him and the fear that was in the mans’ eyes before his life ended all too quickly. In the back of his mind he was trying his best to justify the reasoning behind killing the man, only being able to opt to the reason of him being a mobster who had done wrong. Technically under the mobs regular rules the man wouldn’t have died and only been warned, or at the very most kicked out. But this, this was something much more sinister. “Kyungsoo.” The Dom spoke, “Why don’t you go next.” When Xiumin looked up he saw the smile on the Doms’ face, the smile holding something unpleasant that he could see. Finally bringing the gun down he looked over at Kyungsoo who just stared, unnerved it seemed. Xiumin could almost feel his hesitation. He didn’t know if the latter could live with something like this on his conscious. Since he had only been part of the delivery unit Xiumin assumed that never in his mind did he think he’d ever have to kill someone. But could he live with something like this and not have it eat him from the inside out. Sure Xiumin could write it off as something justifiable, but Kyungsoo? He obviously had more of a heart than the latter so Xiumin knew that would make it hard for him. Sure they were in the highest tier and the Dom trusted them unconditionally but that didn’t make them killers; but these other men on trial didn’t know that. “Make your decision wisely.” The tone in the Doms’ voice almost made this sound like he thought this was all a game and not that they were playing with the lives of people before even giving them a chance to live. Wouldn’t this be considered torture. Slowly Kyungsoo reached over, grabbing the gun from Xiumins’ hand smoothly and raising it immediately to the head of the next man down the line. Could he really do this? Xiumins’ mind raced. Something like this changed a man and he definitely didn’t want that for Kyungsoo. Once again time seemed to still and Xiumin just watched as Kyungsoos’ expression turned hard, his chin tilting up a little as if to assert his dominance. One click as the barrel of the gun was reloaded; now all it would take was a pull of that trigger. The seconds seemed to pass all too slowly and Xiumin was feeling anxious. He couldn’t watch Kyungsoo do this to someone when he had a conscious. He watched as the trigger moved a little, his good will getting the better of him. “Wait.” Quickly his hand shot out and grabbed the gun, fingers knocking Kyungsoos’ away from the trigger and pulling it out of his hand and holding it in his own. As he did he looked up and over the heads of the kneeling men. His eyes met the Doms’, an expression of confusion crossing the Doms’ face at what had just occurred. Xiumin had to come up with something, and fast or else they were all going to be in deep shit, and he wanted to get them all out of here alive. It was all up to him. ~ ~ ~ Hello hello again everyone.
