Secrets Of A Thief jojosny 42740K 2023-11-02

Xiumin knew that he had made the right choice when he thought to take his pursuers down different dark alleyways, jumping over garbage cans, trash sacks and other various debris that would get in his followers way as they ran. They yelled but it seemed like no one in the entire city heard them or came running to see what was going on.Xiumin was running as fast as his legs could carry him away from his pursuers. He was a thief, and a damn good one at that. He had stolen from big mob bosses and in turn got paid by the ChenMin Company to collect evidence enough to shut the mobs down. What the company didn’t know what that he was actually working for the biggest mob in disguise.Because he was wearing skin tight clothing it made it easier to maneuver around without the extra weight. The only problem, no big pockets. Xiumin jumped over old boxes and a guard rail before turning a corner as he tried escaping his pursuers. He quickly pulled out the stolen papers from his back pocket and stuffed the document in the inside of his pocket of his jacket, zipping it up most the way to hold the document in place.         Just as Xiumin rounded the corner he suddenly ran head long into someone, knocking that person to the ground with him. He quickly stood up, helping the other man up with barley a glance as he muttered apologies again and again. When he looked up something about the man stopped him. Xiumin looked the man up and down, taking in the skinny jeans like his own (if not tighter) his blue jacket with yellow leather sleeves over his thin build all the way to his face, his sharp features were eye catching at first glance. His brown eyes shined through his big glasses. His glasses  weren’t thick; but although they were bigger than most they didn’t make him look like a total dork like most glasses would on people, instead they made him look, sophisticated, if anything.“Sorry.” Xiumin bowed slightly to the man who looked confused at what had just happened. “I didn’t see you there.” He bowed again. He would’ve loved to stare at that man all day but the yells behind him pulled him back to reality and he took off again, barley hearing the sound of something fall from his jeans pocket to the ground as he ran further away before turning the corner and disappearing into  the darkness of the alleyway. He turned a corner, jumping up to grab hold of the bottom of the fire escape ladder and swinging himself so that he hooked his knees over the bars, then swung up to grab it with his hands before climbing up. He hid behind the edge of the building top, peeking over to look out for the men following him. He had counted three but he assumed that there was at least five.It wasn’t long before he saw two of the men walk into the alley. They walked just by his hiding place, not noticing him. Just as they were about to exit the other side (or so he thought) they turned back around just as he had leaned farther over, accidently knocking off a rock chunk so that it fell down onto a dumpster, making a loud bang before it fell on the ground. The men both looked up, right at his hiding place, knowing that a rock couldn’t just fall from the top of a building. They spotted Xiumin and ran to the ladder as he turned to run. It took them almost no time at all to climb up the same ladder he had and jump onto the building. They were right on his heels as he jumped from building to building, almost losing his balance once or twice as the spaces became bigger between the buildings. He had to find a way back to the ground. He spotted another fire escape and took it. He flipped the switch to unlock it with his foot as he jumped on, riding the ladder to the ground before jumping off, letting it slide back up quickly with a loud clang before locking into place. He knew they were near a highway and the only way to escape and get to the Dom was to cross that highway, and in his situation, cross it quickly without getting hit by a car. He heard the sound of the men jumping from the building and following his running steps towards the highway, they weren’t far behind him.He stopped only for a second to observe the traffic. Then, as he heard the men coming up behind him he bolted across the highway. He only stopped once he had gotten to the other side, just in time to hear the squeal of tires; he turned just in time to see one of the men go flying as a car came in contact with him. There was a ruckus starting as everyone began getting out of their cars to see what had just happened. Once Xiumin saw that the other pursuer couldn’t see him anymore he took off, checking that he still had the documents and the drug. As long as he had at least one of those things for the Dom he would be safe.* * *Chen had just gotten off work for his break and the day was warm. He was in an unusually good mood apart from not being able to find his secretary; but he still felt as if he had just come down from cloud nine; it was going to be a good day.Chen was casually walking along, but stopped when he heard a racket coming from one of the side alleyways. He didn’t move when suddenly a boy burst from around the corner, running right into him. He felt himself fall backwards as the boy fell on top of him. He didn’t have time to protest when suddenly the boy was helping him back up, mumbling ‘sorry’ over and over again. Chen didn’t know what to say as he stared at the boy who eventually looked at him, bowing and saying sorry again.Time seemed to stop as Chen and the boy stared at each other. Something about this boy was different, Chen could tell, but just what it was he couldn’t quite put his finger on. The boys clothing were much like his own, the skinny jeans, the tight shirt under a tight jacket. Something that caught Chen’s eye was that the boys’ hair was a rusty kind of faded red that spiked upwards, the base covered by a black head band (handkerchief) and the boys’ eyes which stood out among the rest of his slightly chubby face; they were bright green and flashed with every movement the boy made. Suddenly there was yelling from the place where the boy had just come from; his eyes growing wide before he bowed again quickly and ran off, running around the corner into the nearest alleyway, disappearing from Chen’s sight.Chen shook his head. That was one of the weirdest experiences he had ever had in his life. He just shrugged it off. He saw something glitter on the ground in the morning sunlight and leaned down to pick it up, something had fallen from the other boys pocket and this must be it.It glittered in the sun as Chen flipped it over; the only words engraved on it were “Xiu” Chen slipped it in his pocket acting like nothing had ever happened and kept walking. Although this morning had started off slightly unusual it still didn’t change Chens’ good mood. The weather seemed to match Chens’ attitude; the sun shining, birds chirping and a slight breeze ruffling through his hair. Slipping his hands in his pocket he began to hum a tune. Chen took his time, strolling along, taking in his surroundings. As he walked he noticed that the buildings got brighter but the alleyways seemed to get darker. The small shops that he passed were all unique; even though they were in the “darker” part of the city they were brightly colored and decorated, looking very inviting to any onlookers passing by.Although all the shops were eye catching, but one shop in particular stood out among the rest.  It was a dark chocolate brown shop with bright neon green letters across the top that said “Black Pearl.”  In the windows he could see hanging plants and different exotic flowers in different colored pots that seemed specifically for the pots inside. In a way the shop reminded him of a Starbucks, yet… without coffee. This must have been the shop that Chanyeol had told him about, he had been right—you definitely couldn’t miss it.Chen pulled out his phone, stopping only for a moment to take a picture for future reference, and to show Chanyeol just in case he had gotten the place wrong. When he walked inside the first thing he noticed (apart from the ring of the bell) everything but the countertops and chairs, everything looked vintage. It was all very quaint, something you might see out an old movie. He inhaled deeply, the smell of freshly baked bread wafted through the air. The light sound of people talking mixed with some jazz music that played from above.Chen jumped when suddenly a thin, black hair boy came practically hopping over with a tray in his hand, a smile on his face. It was startling with the way the dark circles surrounded his eyes; he could be mistaken for a panda, all he needed was ears and he would be set.“Hi!” the boy chimed. “Welcome to Black Pearl, I’m Tao and I’ll be serving you today, follow me.” Chen followed this boy warily; something about this boy was just too happy. He didn’t think it could get any weirder—but boy was he wrong. Just as he was about to take his seat he looked over to see a thin, tall, blonde haired boy flirting with some of the customers as he spun dough (showing off).  Chen thought he had died and went to heaven, they had a happy waiter and an angel baking bread, what more could anyone want…apart from food.Chen ordered a sandwich just to see how the food was. As he waited he looked around the shop. He didn’t have to wait long before his sandwich was brought out by the forever smiling waiter who happily told him to enjoy his meal before bouncing off to another table.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~Time passed by slowly as Chen ate, enjoying a little quiet time to himself where he wasn’t completely alone. He thought that maybe he would come here for lunch more often. After he was finished he paid for the good meal and headed back to work. He knew that most likely Chanyeol would be waiting for him, probably sitting in his chair waiting until Chen would show up and tell him all the details so that he could either congratulate him or make fun of him. ‘That bastard,’ Chen thought, ‘Once I get back I’m going to kick his ass.’ It was all his idea anyway.~ ~ ~ It kinda sounds like Chen has no life *le sigh* im sorry, I don’t know what happened. I think I just kinda died near the end cause I’m thinking too far ahead. Thank you to everyone who subscribed for bearing with me. A shout out to Leonumb3891, thanks a bunch, I really appreciate your comments ^^. Hope you enjoyed!
