one (1/1)

The smell of apples and cinnamon in the air and spotting everyone sporting a starbucks cup with the initials “PSL” on the side could only mean one thing that dreaded Yoongi’s soul with every bone in his body.

Fall was upon them, and that meant Halloween, the holiday where he couldn’t avoid kids if he could, was coming close as well. At school, it wasn’t that hard. He could swerve out of his way to avoid all the tricks that went on in the building every year, but this year was apparently different than the other years. “Y-Yoongi hyung, will you go to the haunted house with me? Taehyung and Hoseok hyung bailed on me last minute for who knows what…” A sophomore approached him quietly. Park Jimin stood only a few centimeters shorter than Yoongi,  and Yoongi took this time where he was “contemplating” going with Jimin (he’d say yes in a heartbeat, who could turn down this child?), to check out the little sophomore out more. With big doe eyes and chocolate brown hair, and those oh so kissable li-- “Yeah, whatever. Yeesh, can’t you ask one of your girlfriends to go with you?” Yoongi rolled his eyes, not wanting to look into the little sophomore’s eyes, knowing he’d be upset. “But hyung, it’s your senior year! Seokjin hyumma would be upset if you didn’t go to the haunted house at least once in your high school career! Would you rather be dragged with him or with me?” The younger whined, pouting at Yoongi. Yoongi rolled his eyes, groaning. “I guess you have a point, little runt. We can go today, if you want to go so badly.” Jimin’s eyes brightened up at Yoongi’s reluctant acceptance to the offer. “Oh, thank you so much, hyung!” Jimin smiled brightly at Yoongi, and if he had radiated beams, Yoongi would nonetheless still be squinting at his smile.  “Yeah yeah, whatever…” Yoongi waved off the younger, walking in the direction to his next class.  ----- “Kim Taehyung, you’re an absolute fucking genius.” Jimin cheered gleefully as he waltzed into his English class, bumping into some desks that rolled away as he did so. Taehyung looked up from his manhwa (which had just gotten really interesting. Damn you, Park Jimin.) to look at his best friend. “What did I do?” Taehyung blankly stared back at Jimin and this is when Jimin remembered that, although Taehyung is a brilliant student and a great friend, he’s terrible at inferencing things.  “You just scored me a date with Min Yoongi!” Jimin yelled gleefully. The sophomore, in his experience, had never been able to approach Yoongi outside of the lunch table that the 7 had formed in the time that school started. A new voice laughed, the source being Jungkook who was leaning back in his chair. “It’s about time, is it to the haunted house? Park Jimin, you’re terrified of haunted houses, thats why you insisted Hoseok and Taehyung go with you.” Jungkook chuckled at Jimin’s rash decisions. “Oh, let him live, maybe this is his lame attempt to shriek and cling onto Yoongi when he can!” Taehyung sighed in faux bliss. Jimin scowled at the two, plopping down in his chair. “... Is it a bad idea?” He pouts at the two. They stop their laughing and shake their heads, grinning.  “A little worse, if you think about it. But that’s okay, it suits you!” The younger ones nodded with a grin. Jimin groaned, throwing his head back dramatically. This day is only going to drag more with Taehyung and Jungkook knowing about his “date”. ---- By the time the bell rang, Jimin’s heart was stammering out of his chest and he couldn’t get it to calm down at all. He bounced slightly on his toes, waiting for Yoongi to get out of his class as he tried to calm down from all the nerves rushing through him. “Now are you going to stand there and bounce all day, or are we going to go to the haunted house?” Yoongi’s voice cut through all of Jimin’s thoughts, hands on Jimin’s shoulders as if they were trying to make him stop bouncing. Jimin squeaked, covering his mouth. His face flushed a deep red, as he took a deep breath in and smiled up at his senior.  “Okay, l-let’s go…” Jimin nodded a little, following closely and admiring Yoongi from behind. “You know, they take pictures at the scariest part and then they show you the picture at the end, if you want to keep it…” Yoongi mutters. “Like an amusement park, or some shit.” Jimin perked up, tilting his head.  “That is true!” A girl at the table’s voice piped up, drawing his attention to the ticket booth and there sat a girl in an all leather outfit, smiling brightly up at them. “So, two tickets?” She took out two tickets and told Yoongi the price, in which he took out his wallet to.  “W-wait, hyung, I can pay for myself--” Jimin took out his wallet as well, but Yoongi simply patted Jimin’s hand and paid for the two, making Jimin’s heart skip another beat.  “Have a nice date, you two!” The girl giggled, opening the door to the haunted house and ushering the two inside.  ----- The first thing that Yoongi noticed was that it was completely pitch black. Nothing was in it, but it did heighten his senses a little more as he walked through the dark halls. A dark laugh filled the air, and Yoongi immediately registered the voice as no one other but Kim Taehyung. “Mwahahaha… Enjoy, boys and girls, of all ages…” He cackled before the mic crackled and turned off. Yoongi could feel the younger one tense up behind him before the lights flickered on and turned around was a tall figure with broad shoulders and a white lab coat on.  “Seokjin hyung, couldn’t you think of anything more original?” Yoongi asked, quite unimpressed with the display in front of him. A small chuckle came from Seokjin, then he turned around to face the two and the display behind him, blood everywhere, the cadaver covered in blood, and Seokjin’s sweet smile made Yoongi feel uneasy. “You two are just in time for your checkup.” He started to step towards them, but Seokjin didn’t even get to his staged cue line before Yoongi was being dragged off with a screaming Jimin in the direction of the next attraction. “You’re such a baby, Jimin-ah…” Yoongi chuckled while they walked to down the hall, the slight crunch of leaves signaling they were going down a graveyard-like road. Jimin flushed a light pink, laughing a little (and Yoongi was glad the lights were off, so he didn’t have to see the younger’s bright smile, he might blush).  “It’s a bad thing?” Jimin asked, before they both heard a groan and a mass of bandages limp towards them, along with a small population of the undead, and Jimin’s small question turned into screams once more, hiding behind Yoongi. Yoongi sighed, seeing the silver peek out in different direction from the bandages, and he knew in that moment, it was none other than Kim Namjoon.  “Seriously, Namjoon? You too?” He rolled his eyes, but before he could do anything about it, Namjoon had tripped on the bandage trailing behind him and he was at their feet. This, however, only made Jimin more scared, as Namjoon started to crawl to them and tugging at Yoongi’s shirt didn’t make the older budge, no matter how hard the tug was. "Ah, whatever, let’s move along. This is stupid..." Yoongi mutters as he shakes off the last screaming zombie girl off of his leg, a scared Jimin following closely behind him. "I-I mean... It's scary, but it's fun..." Jimin squeaks from behind him, the first time he spoke after consecutive screams. Yoongi turned to the younger, and all he saw was the younger with the smallest smile on his face but the fear still big in his eyes. Yoongi would be damned to say that Jimin with his scared expression wasn't the most adorable thing he's seen all night. Grabbing his arm, he held him close and he was quietly celebrating the fact that it was dark hid the light brush of pink that matched his hair. "Come on, Park Jimin, let's move along." Jimin, on the other hand, was screaming on the inside, quietly praying his face didn’t look like the time he dyed his hair entirely red, calming down when they saw what they thought was the end. “Hm? Why is it so short?” Yoongi squinted, opening the door to the dimly lit hallways, seeing people on the other end of the door. Little did they know, there was a dinosaur coming towards them. “What the fu--” Jimin got out, before screaming out the rest of the cuss word and clinging onto Yoongi as Yoongi himself felt a heart attack come on. Holding onto Jimin bridal style as they were chased out the hallway, they didn’t even notice the small shutter of a camera. “Jesus, that dinosaur scared the living shit out of me…” Yoongi panted, setting Jimin down before anyone could make any jokes about it. Jimin, exasperated as well, laughed and tugged the older towards the photo booth, where a girl working at the computer in an “anime mom” outfit and Jungkook in a neko-vampire outfit waited. “Boo, nyan.” Jungkook greeted quite sassily, grinning at the computer screen, and then at them. “Cute picture, mm?” He turned the monitor to them.  Yoongi could have not been more embarrassed, and Jimin was suddenly contemplating Seokjin’s offer on a check up. There they were, Yoongi holding Jimin bridal-style as they were chased after the dinosaur out the door. “... I’m taking it.” Jimin whispered, opening up his wallet and paying for it quickly as the girl gave him the photo. “Have a nice day, you cute little couple!” She grinned as Yoongi steered Jimin away from the two working the photo desk.  “J-Jimin, if you’re gonna have those photos, at least hang them up proudly after our next date.” Yoongi manages to get out, a blush bright on his face. Jimin’s heart skips a beat, and he turns to the senior, who’s grinning with the pinkest face he’s ever seen. “How about this Saturday at my house? We’ll watch scary movies and you can cling on all you want. While we’re cuddling, of course.”
