[M] Chapter 5 (1/1)

V is for Vacation tipsyhun 40470K 2023-11-02

The waitress slid a Margarita along to counter and into Juyah's hands. She thanked her, admiring the cocktail Taehyung had bought for her: a tall, skinny glass of toxic green drink, rimmed with salt crystals and a slice of lime."Buying drinks for the girl already, are we, V?" someone called over. The guy with the weird grey-green hair — ah, yes, Namjoon. Taehyung just chuckled low in his throat, and before Juyah knew it his arm was snaking around her waist. She took a taste of the tart drink that left a bitter tingling on her lips. "V?" she asked, intrigued by the nickname.Taehyung was casually spinning his glass of rum and coke on the counter, answering, "Yeah, it's an old nickname that stuck. We said it stands for victory."Juyah shifted in her seat, vividly aware of his fingers grazing her hip. "You no longer live up to that name, huh?"He huffed, and leaned into Juyah. When he spoke, his breath was hot on her cheek. "What makes you think that, baby?"The pet name made her blush furiously. Clearing her throat, Juyah turned away from him and took another sip of her Margarita."What does that taste like, anyway?" Taehyung questioned, leaning closer yet again. Juyah had worked out by now that ignoring him only spurred him on. She felt hot and bothered at their intimacy; she couldn't help but wonder if anyone who saw them like this would think they were a couple. Goddamnit, he was good at this. Sighing in defeat, she held up her glass to his lips. He did pay for it, after all. After tasting the Margarita, he raised his brows. "Salty," he commented."Like me, then," she said, giggling and taking another sip for herself. Taehyung squeezed her hip ever so gently. Then, he brought his other hand up into her hair, pushing a silver lock behind her ear."I think you're rather sweet," he whispered, rubbing his thumb in small circles at her temple. Juyah closed her eyes; his touch was bliss. "Perhaps I'll know for sure if you let me have a taste..."Juyah looked down so that Taehyung's mouth connected with the top of her head and not her lips. She grasped the hand that cupped her face and gingerly tugged it away before looking up at him again. He was pouting. "Hm. You were right. Salty.""Told you," she replied, and winked. She shoudn't have, but she found teasing Taehyung too fun. Plus, she had to get her revenge on him for his merciless flirting.Taehyung smirked, but finally removed his arm from my waist. After a mouthful of rum and coke he said, "I don't like playing games, Juyah.""You're not doing a very good job of making me believe you live up to your nickname," she said with a smug smile. He side-glanced at her. He opened and closed his mouth, as if lost for words. Then, he just shrugged. "I'm working on it, baby."ㅁ ㅁ ㅁ"Jimin... take me home, please..." Youngmi whined. The red-head was sprawling herself across Jimin's lap, clutching onto his shirt else she would fall. Jimin was patting her hair, though he was grimacing. As well as Youngmi, Jimin had Song leaning on his knees to speak soft words to her friend. Jungkook kept tugging Youngmi's arm every so gently, attempting to get her on her feet. She would only moan and call for Jimin again and again. "Jimiiiiin!"Jin bent down and said into Youngmi's ear, "Jimin will take you home, okay? But you need to stand up." Then, he grabbed one of her arms and worked with Jungkook to help her up. Song stepped back and let the boys handle the drunk girl.Yoongi was shaking his head at the sight; Namjoon was snickering. Hoseok looked like he was feigning a look of concern, and failing, as he kept letting slip a giggle. Juyah just watched her friend in embarrassment."Does she usually get like this?" Taehyung whispered to Juyah. He'd been by her side the entire evening — which, sadly, had come to an end quicker than expected thanks to Youngmi's poor tolerance of her drinks."No, never," Juyah admitted. Honestly, she was dumbstruck as to why her friend was so wasted. Juyah had only allowed herself one cocktail; Song may have had more, but was more resistant to the effects of alcohol. Youngmi, on the other hand, must have drank far too much. That, or her drink had been spiked.Juyah couldn't lie — she was a little angry and disappointed that the night had been cut short. Taehyung had actually given up on the flirting for a while, and Juyah found herself enjoying a conversation between him and Hoseok. Jin, Jimin, Jungkook had been talking with Youngmi, whilst Namjoon and Yoongi, on the furthest seats, were fascinated by Song's stories. With Jin on one arm and Jungkook on the other, Youngmi was finally on her feet. Jimin held onto her shoulder, as well, to reassure her that he was still there."Jimin," she moaned his name, her head rolling to the side. Jimin cupped her cheek and held up her head."I'm right here, Youngmi." At his words, Youngmi smiled contently and brought her hand atop his on her cheek.Hoseok hopped off his seat and came to stand beside Taehyung. "Someone is smitten," he commented.Taehyung said, "Well, just look at her! She is a precious little gem." Juyah was startled when Taehyung then linked his arm with hers. "You still won't let me kiss you, though, will you, Ju?"Juyah's eyes must've been ridiculously wide as she peered up at him, because he chuckled at her and hugged her arm tighter. She should have yanked her arm from his grasp; she should have ignored his adorable grin and bright, friendly eyes. Yet, she couldn't tear her eyes away."As cute as that is, I was talking about your friend Youngmi."Taehyung drooped his head to laugh to himself. "I know," he mumbled. His fringe was falling over his face and hiding his expression. Was that a blush Juyah could see on his cheeks? She gave him a playful flick on his arm with her hand that wasn't crushed against his body — her arm was still locked in his. He peeked at her through his bangs, and Juyah knew that now was the time to leave because he was being far too adorable. Oh, and because Youngmi was pretty close to passing out."I have to go now, Tae," she said to him.He simply nodded, and finally let go of her arm. Before their hands broke contact, Juyah let her fingers brush slowly over his palm."I should walk you home," he murmured. Why was he acting so shyly? This side of his personality was almost unrecognisable.Juyah shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I think Jimin, Jin and Jungkook are coming with us, and I need to help them with Youngmi."Hoseok swung an arm around Taehyung's shoulders. "Come on, mate. Yoongi is complaining — I think we ought to help Joonie put him to bed," he remarked.Taehyung nodded again, and Juyah seized the moment to bid them both goodbye and leave them. She realised how dizzy she was when she jogged to catch up with Jimin and the others, who were already ambling their way back. It turns out her help wasn't actually needed — with three men and Song, Youngmi was escorted home safely and placed, on her side, on the double bed in one of bedrooms. When Youngmi eventually stopped pining for Jimin and fell asleep, Juyah offered to sleep on the bed with her. It was the least she could do.ㅁ ㅁ ㅁJuyah dreamed of the evening that could have been at the Cove Bar that night, of the conversations she could have had, of the soothing ripples she could have created in the moonlit pool. She dreamed of Taehyung's eyes on her; his lips quivering for a kiss; his hands on her hips, and her hands finding home in the crevices of his toned abdomen through a wet, sheer shirt...She was calm when she awoke, suddenly, in the middle of the night. Yet, something was eerily wrong. Turning over in the bed, she felt for the sleeping body of Youngmi — and soon realised that she was not there.Juayh sat bolt upright and searched the room, but her eyes weren't adjusted to the dark. Whispering her friend's name once, Juyah decided to get up and look for the girl. She was probably puking somewhere. Running on her toes into the lounge, Juyah noticed first of all that the sliding door to the balcony was open, the lace curtain wildly blowing inwards.I bet she's throwing up in the sand, Juyah thought, and winced. She batted aside the curtain, only to find herself alone on the balcony."Youngmi?" she hissed, and her voice was almost lost in the whistling wind. Clearing her throat, she called her friend's name for a second time, much louder. No reply. If that girl's passed out somewhere... Juyah was seething. As she was preparing to yell again, another shout beat her to it. It was a strangled cry of a single name, one that quickened Juyah's pulse immediately. Someone else was calling for Youngmi.Frantically scanning the beach before her, confronted by waves that were growing more violent by the minute and the treacherous dark, Juyah managed to spot a set of shadowy figures not far from her. Without second thought, she climbed over the fragile bamboo fence of their balcony and landed in a shallow pool of salt water and soft sand. The tide was coming in.She ran as best she could on the sand, headed straight for the couple — maybe more, she couldn't tell in the gloom — of figures. It was when she halted a couple of feet away that she realised there was someone lying on the ground, and there was at least one person crouched over her. She couldn't see who it was lying down — there was a blanket draped over them. Fuck, if that's Youngmi...At that moment, the conscious person noticed Juyah's presence and looked up at her. It was Jimin. If that was Jimin, then the tiny, frail body with a nest of red hair he was tending to was Youngmi.A.N: dramaaaaa. if there are any readers out there, i love and appreciate you all<3
