Kyungsoo/fem!Baekhyun|| words: 1485 || not a drabble || summary: sometimes, a writer doesn’t just write for fun. Sometimes, they just wanted their voice to be heard.  .prologue It was well known in every person that knows Do Kyungsoo that he’s a literary genius which is why he easily got accepted at the prestigious YG University, where dreams of being a famous novelist and poet were born.  Entering the doors of his new room, he beamed up and flashed his supposed roommate the most beautiful smile that almost reaches his –  “Fuck, Lu – ugh – so beautiful…”  “Ah, yes! Jongin, please!”  On the second thought, maybe he’ll just leave his things here and come back later.   .rewrite Entering the library, Kyungsoo thanked the heavens above that the University accepted him with open arms. Because standing right in front of him was a girl – a girl that got his breath hitching at the sudden close proximity.  “I-uh…” Kyungsoo leans his head back, face flushed down to his neck. He gulps. “W-What are you doing?”  “Tell me, kid. And tell me the truth.” Baekhyun chooses that moment to pick up the chair beside him so that she could take a seat. “Are you a writer?”  Kyungsoo’s only response was a sharp intake of breath because Baekhyun was now rubbing that spot on his nape that got him squirming like a worm. Baekhyun grins slyly.   .chapter 10 In a span of 2 months, they began to date.  “Kyungsoo, where’s my – “  “Ah, here.” Kyungsoo raised up from his swivel chair and handed Baekhyun a brown envelope. “Finished that late because I had to finish mine first.” He said, scratching the back of his neck shyly, averting his eyes on the floor because Baekhyun just barged in his room with him wearing nothing but his sea-green boxers.  Baekhyun raised her brows and peeks inside. “Ten pages, hmm?”  “Twenty-five.”  That night, Kyungsoo found himself pressed against the shelf of an empty dim lit section in the library, pants pooling down his ankles and belt sprawled on the floor. Baekhyun was flashing him that grin – that same mischievous grin that never failed to make his heart leap. “I got an A+ today.” She whispered against his ear.  “O-Oh, uh…” Kyungsoo squeaks when his boxers fell down to join his pants. “B-Baekhyun?”  “Start counting.” She whispers before kneeling down, pulling him closer by the hips. "One... two..." Kyungsoo's breath hitched. "...three..."   He lost it at eleven.   .chapter 26 “Stephen Chobsky, John Green, Rainbow Rowell…” Baekhyun made a face and scrunches her nose. “If you ask me, those kind of books are overrated.” She threw Kyungsoo’s books away, which the latter clumsily catches in an attempt to salvage his precious books. “I need something realistic.”  “Like what?”  “Based on a true story.” Baekhyun flashes him a sultry smile, taking Kyungsoo’s books out of his arms and letting them drop on the floor (much to Kyungsoo’s dismay) and takes her position on the younger’s lap. “I want a story that will spark the reader's’ interest. A story that will be the talks of everyone. And you,” She lowered her head down so her lips were hovering against his. “You are gonna help me.”   .chapter 30 “Are you Do Kyungsoo?”  Kyungsoo furrowed his brows upon seeing the man. “Uh, yeah. Why, do you need something?”  The man gently shook his head and walked away.   .chapter 55 Every person has their own limit, and so was Kyungsoo. Expecting to write the novel Baekhyun was talking about while doing the literary project for him and Baekhyun, it was a mess. He can’t take it.  On the verge of break down due to writer’s block, he seeks help from his roommate, Jongin, only to be given something he never dared on having and eventually doing.  “Have a joint.” Jongin passed him down the green stick. “Keeps you level-headed. It worked for me.”  It worked for him, but due to this, his attendance rate at school is slowly falling.  And so was his grades.   .chapter 60 “Baekhyun, I finished the –“ He paused midway upon seeing the man sitting on Baekhyun’s bed as if he was expecting for Kyungsoo to come. He furrowed his brows and frowned. “Who are you and where’s Baekhyun?”  “Out with some,” the man stood up from his position. “Jock.” He flashes him a smile – a borderline between sympathy and worry. “My name is Kim Jongdae, a friend of Baekhyun’s.”  “Jock?” Kyungsoo scrunches his face and took deep breaths. “W-What jock? Who?”  But this man, Jongdae, only walked past him after giving him two claps on the back. “If I were you, I’d leave her.” He sighs through his nose and chuckles dryly. “She’s not worth it.”   .chapter 63 Headlights, by Byun Baekhyun, was published in paperback a month later and was now on its way to be published at some famous publishing company in New York.  But while Baekhyun was celebrating the success of her work, Kyungsoo was drowning.  “This is a work of a failure, Mr. Do.” The dean said, voice laced in disappointment. “In this school, we push the boundaries of imagination. No limits. No endings. This is a writer’s wonderland. But this,” He threw the folder that Kyungsoo worked hard on with no sleep. “This is an utter embarrassment.” A sigh. “I’m beginning to doubt your talent as a literary prodigy.”  He was asked to redo his work, or get expelled.  That same night, he found Baekhyun on bed with another man.  Kyungsoo can’t breathe.  He just drowned.   .chapter 65 “Baekhyun…” Kyungsoo looks at the packed bags around the room upon entering. “Baekhyun, where are you going?”  “Paris.” Baekhyun said after a pause. “Kris knows the ropes around the place. And oh,” She gave him a subtle glance. “He’s a writer and a jock. Great combination, right?”  “And you didn’t thought about telling me this?” Kyungsoo swallowed the lump in his throat. “Why – Why are you doing this?”  “Easy.” Baekhyun zipped her bags before looking at him dead in the eye. “I don’t want to associate myself with failures.”    .chapter 66 Kim Jongdae appeared to him the day Baekhyun left. He took a seat down to a distraught Kyungsoo, placing a hand on his back and gave him comforting rubs.  “You’re the person that she needs, not the person that she wants.” Jongdae whispered. “It hurts, doesn’t it? Being used.”  Kyungsoo could only scrunch his face as more tears began to fall.   “You weren’t the only victim of Baekhyun’s madness, Do-sshi.” Jongdae said. “I was once a fool to believe those deceptive honey coated words.” Kyungsoo sniffles. “She left a man for me, and she left me for you. And now, she left you for a man named, Kris.”  “Your life isn’t over, Do-sshi.” Jongdae grins at him. “We’re writers. We use our pens to speak. Let your voice be heard.”   .chapter 90 “There’s going to be an interview about the movie deal that’s in talks about in Hollywood.” His wife, Junmyeon, and also his manager, called from the kitchen. She appeared a few minutes later with two flutes of champagne, taking a seat beside her husband. “So what’s your plan?”  “It’s not yet published and they’re already throwing me a movie deal?” Kyungsoo snorts. “Well, what did your brother said when he heard about it?”  Junmyeon pursed her lips and leaned her head on Kyungsoo’s shoulder after settling the glasses down on the coffee table. “Jongdae, told me that he wants you to send him the first copy of the book and it has to be a signed one.” She giggles. “I have no idea why, you two are making a big deal about this.”  “Trust me, love.” Kyungsoo leans over to give his wife a lingering kiss on the side of her head. “This is going to be a hit.”  BlindBy Do Kyungsoo  Dedicated to: Byun BaekhyunMay you finally find happiness wherever you are          .epilogue “New York’s best seller Blind, hits the media like a tidal wave. The book is about a story of a man named Minseok, who found himself in a world of deceit and lies. I swear, Ryeowook-sshi. This book got me staring at nothing for hours for I was busy processing the events in my head. Like woah!”  “Same thing happened to me, Yesung-sshi. I wonder if the performance of the movie, based on the same title and story as Blind, will ever satisfy us, readers. Up next, marriage rates began to decrease –“  Kyungsoo tore his gaze away from the TV screen to look at the notification of an upcoming e-mail on his account from his phone. He furrowed his brows at the name of the sender – a name that he hasn’t seen for how many years – before clicking.  Take my name down on the dedication. – Byun Baekhyun  But Kyungsoo didn’t.           “Loving her was like a drug. You kept on doing it over and over even if it’s slowly killing you from within. And when you die, you have no one to blame but yourself.” – Kim Minseok to Zhang Yixing; Blind, page 267.   a/n: based on the movie: kill your darlings (side note: great film, seriously. great film)
