The night of Kai’s confession, and the two’s promise ended in a cold breeze blowing through the crisp autumn night. Both of them walked home alone, just thinking of what the future would hold. Prepared for what was about to happen, but also scared of the unknown outcomes, the two boys went to bed with an uneasy feeling within them. Chen woke up the next morning with a fresh mind. It was Saturday so he was basically free all day long. Instead of making plans for the day, Chen just relaxed at home, waiting for something to happen before the day inevitably ends having done nothing. Chen thought about what had happened the night before, after the ongoing conversation about their promise to each other. How did I not know about Kai’s dad? Chen thought to himself. It was midday now, Chen having only done a few things such as cooking, watching drama’s, and thinking. Mostly thinking. After mustering enough strength to get off the sofa and get away from his spicy ramen, he went to the bathroom and started to wash his face and take a shower. Chen was glistening in water after his shower, stepping into his room to dry off. He got dressed in a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt accompanied with a light jacket for some unexpected weather. Before leaving, he packed a backpack and headed to Kai’s house. Chen was quick and diligent as he used the subway for faster transportation. He finally reached Kai’s neighborhood and didn’t even mind calling Kai if he was home. Chen stepped up to the doorstep and knoc
