CHAPTER 18 “Wheein?”Mrs. Jung called her daughter who’s now got stiff because of her mom’s surprise appearance, Wheein silently prayed that her mom didn’t caught them on a very awkward position, She closed her eyes, waiting for the next word her mom will say. Hwasa calmly pull her face away, as if she weren’t caught almost kissing the only daughter of the older woman, “Hello, Mrs. Jung” Hwasa said, Mrs. Jung looked at them confusedly, not able to register there earlier position, “Wheein said there some dust particle that went to her eyes so I’m trying to blow it off, sorry she wasn’t able to answer you” Wow, she’s really good.  Wheein taught, Mrs. Jung nodded her head, conviced “Oh, Okay. I’m sorry my baby wheein was making you do things Hwasa.”  She smiled, “Anyway, The Lunch is ready, let’s go and eat together” Mrs. Jung added, while smiling widely. After Mrs. Jung closed the door, Wheein released her breath she didn’t know she was holding, “Oh my god, I thought I’m going to die” Wheein muttered, while holding her chest. Her heart is still beating fast, “Mommy, your brain is so fast making excuses”, Hwasa just laughed at her, “Grace under pressure baby”. Wheein turn around and walks towards the door but before she hold the door handle Hwasa hold her hands and pulls her in to an embrace, She cupped her baby’s face and kissed her passionately, sliding her tounge inside Wheein’s mouth who’s too surprised to respond, After a minute, Wheein started to kiss Hwasa back, same intensity, while there tongue playing against each other. They pull away when they both need air. Wheein buried her face on her mommy’s neck, breathing so hard. “Baby lets go down now”  Wheein whined, “We have to go now and eat lunch or else you’re the one I’m going to eat.” Hwasa smirked and Wheein lift her head away to Hwasa, She rolled her eyes to her mommy and turns her back.  Her face is too damn red and flustered. “…and after that, Wheein went home  showered with mud” Mrs. Jung laughs so loud while reminiscing old funny story of young wheein, They were eating on a small dining table, Hwasa was laughing with her mom while Wheein was trying her best not to melt on her seat, “Moooooom!! You’re embarrassing me” Wheein whined, “Sorry baby, I can’t help it, you know it’s not every day I have someone to talk about you.” Her mom smiled at her sweetly, Wheein playfully whined to her mom, acting annoyed, “You know, Thankyou for giving my daughter an opportunity on your company” Mrs. Jung turned to Hwasa, “As you can see both of us was struggling financially and Wheein has been working part time since god knows when.” Mrs. Jung sincerely say, She holds Hwasa’s hands and caress it sweetly. Hwasa smiled at wheein’s mom in return, “No problem Mrs. Jung, besides wheein was really really good at what she does” It now Hwasa’s turn to look at Wheein and smirked at her, Wheein  face completely turns red, blushing at the older woman statement, she looked down so her mom won’t notice it. It was already 3 in the afternoon when Hwasa and Wheein decided to go shopping for their Christmas decoration while Mrs. Jung went to the market to buy some grocery for their Christmas dinner, it was already December 24 but still there’s no decoration on their home, even a Christmas tree on Jung’s Home. They went to a Home Depot to look for decorations, They were walking hand on hand and Wheein seems to be conscious on people who looks at them, At first, She thought that it was only because she’s with Hwasa, who’s undeniably hot, but the stares always go down from there face to their hands, some didn’t mind but some shows disgusted look.  She looks at her mommy to see if she observes it too, but Hwasa looks only forward and didn’t mind other people around them.  Seeing Hwasa’s unbothered gave wheein more confidence to ignore the eyes of the bystanders.  “Baby, do you want to go straight to the Home Depot or do you want to eat something?”  They are already inside the Mall, Wheein looks around if there’s anything she wanted to eat, or interest them but she didn’t find any. She shooked her head. “Nothing, Lets go and buy some decoration.” Wheein smiled at her and Hwasa nodded. They already arrived on the Home Depot and Thank God it was not as crowded as they expected. They are doing some late shopping anyway.  After picking some decorations which mostly consist of Christmas LED Lights, Christmas tree, Stars, Little Angels, some Christmas socks. They listed it as for Delivery so they will not go on a hassle on bringing it home. Hwasa and Wheein decided to roam around the Mall, There is a lot of people on other shops, probably doing some last minute gift shopping, That’s when it occurs to wheein that she still has no gift for her mommy. She still has a whole day to think about it. “Hwasa-nim, Is this enough?” Wheein was putting the little Angel on the Christmas tree, “Bab---Uhm, Wheein-ah, put some more to this part” wheein blushed on almost tongue slip of her mommy, She looked at her mom who’s already in the kitchen, assuring if she didn’t hear it. After completing there home decoration, Wheein decided to help her mom on the kitchen while Hwasa took some calls.  December 25.Hwasa woke up with wheein’s hand above her tummy and her head on the crook of her neck, She can smell the sweet strawberry flavored shampoo that Wheein used yesterday, she sniffed the top of wheein heads, before giving it a sweet kiss. This probably woke the younger woman because she felt her stirred on her place, Hwasa just watched wheein move beside her with a sweet smile. After a while, wheein looks up at her and smiled sweetly, Hwasa leaned down her face a little so she can give her baby a quick kiss. “Good morning baby, Merry Christmas.” Hwasa said. “Hmmm. Merry Christmas” Wheein hugs the older woman tighter, “5 more minutes pls.”  she said, almost a whisper. Hwasa chuckled and let her baby have her extra minutes. “My baby wheein, Merry Christmas” Mrs. Jung greeted wheein, enthusiastically, “Mom, Merry Christmas too”, Wheein hugged her mom tight, “Oh, And merry Christmas to you too, Hwasa.” Mrs. Jung hugged her too, “Here’s my gift for you mom.” Wheein gave her the gifts she bought for her mother while she’s on Jeju. Hwasa also gave her the expensive bag she bought for Mrs. Jung, and this made the older woman squeal on happiness. The rest of the day was spent with wheein relatives visiting them on their home, exchanging gifts and catching up with her cousins, Although, Hwasa didn’t know most of the people who came into wheein’s house, She never felt alone or out of place, Wheein always tries to engage her in conversations, and introduce her as her boss. Hwasa can’t even remember the last time she and her own family celebrated Christmas, probably when she was 13 years old? When they attended a supposedly a Christmas party but ended up with her mom and father sealing a deal with the party host? She can’t recall.Being here was really nice for her, although tiring too because she also tries to help on the accommodating as far as she can, even if Mrs. Jung already told her a million times that she didn’t have to. Hwasa and Wheein was seating on the front yard, It’s almost 7:00 PM and their last visitor already went home, Hwasa looks at Wheein who’s visibly exhausted, her eyes was closed while leaning, almost lying down on the seat.  It’s only the two of them since Mrs. Jung went to her friend earlier to share some foods.  Hwasa thought that it was the best time to give wheein her gift. She stood up silently, Wheein must be too tired since she didn’t even gave Hwasa a glance, She went on Wheein’s room, looking for the red box that she bought for Wheein, She felt that Wheein will really like this one, She spent nights and days to search on the internet for the perfect gift. When she already had it in her hands, she happily went downstairs.  Only to witness, Jimin hugging Wheein in the front yard, she felt her heart twitch, but she didn’t know why. She saw Jimin whispering something to Wheein and Wheein hitting Jimin jokingly. Hwasa stood frozen, She didn’t interfere on what the two was doing instead she watched and observe. She saw wheein turning her back on Jimin and Jimin putting the necklace with a letter “W” pendant on Wheein. She gropes the red box hard, almost deforming it. She didn’t went back to the front yard instead she go to wheein’s room, trying to cool herself down, irritation building up.  She always hated how Jimin treated wheein. She’s pretty sure that the other girl likes HER baby and that didn’t sit well on her. She knows that they don’t have any relationship, what they have is just some sort of agreement, but she can’t help to get irritated to the fact that someone out there may become potential girlfriend of her baby. Hwasa gears on her brain started to work, is it because of Jimin? Does the request of termination is because of Jimin? Argh. She really needed to ask. She wanted to get on the root of this.  It was almost 10 PM when wheein entered her room. She smells like beer, Jimin invited wheein for a drink earlier, she asked for Hwasa’s permission thru text message but the older woman didn’t reply. Jimin was to persistent and eventually, she gives in on her request. Hwasa was lying on the bed, she wasn’t really sleeping yet. She was waiting for wheein to get back home. She felt the other side of the bed dips a little, seems like wheein was carefully lying on her side, after settling, Wheein hugs her side, resting her arm on her tummy. Wheein was about to sleep when Hwasa suddenly speaks, “Wheein?”, the seriousness of the voice of the older woman, Wheein sits up looking down to the older woman who eyes still close. “Yes, mommy?” she was tipsy all she wanted to do is to sleep.“I know now what I want for Christmas.”“What?”  Wheein furrowed her brows, unsure of what’s the older woman was saying.“You asked me before right? What I want for Christmas?” Hwasa’s voice was too cold. too serious, sounds too impatient.  Wheein just nodded her head, she wanted to ask more but her head was too heavy, probably from the amount of beer that she drunk. “I want you to tell me why do you wanted to terminate the contract.” Hwasa sits up and looked directly to wheein’s eyes. “that’s what I want” Wheein was taken a back, She doesn’t know what to say. Hwasa looks at her with a very expecting eyes. “You can give it too me right?” She asked again. Wheein looked down and unsure, “Wheein, can you give me my request?” Hwasa asked again, she wasn’t sure what was happening right now. Where is this coldness coming from? She knew that one day it will be open up again. She knew that this is not a topic to be avoid. She started tearing up. But Hwasa didn’t budge. “It’s because….”“Its because….” “It’s because I started to fell inlove with you.”Wheein woke up with a head ache, she slowly opens her eyes. The sun rays was heating the side of her face. She sighed, immediately thinking about the event last night. She slowly turns around, hoping to see the older woman on the other side of the bed. She wasn’t there. Her blanket was neatly placed. She looks at the closet to check the baggages but it was empty already. She run away. Hwasa was gone.
