[M] A new family (1/1)

My name is Nara. I’m becoming 18 soon. Most people around me at school think im arrogant or just really cool. But when I’m home that’s a whole different story…

“Nara! Come here u worthless piece of shit!” As always Nara heard her dad scream at her and she walked down the stairs with her face looking at the ground. “Why the hell isn’t there any food on the table?! I’m back home and u were supposed to make me dinner. Go hurry and make it! Be glad u still have a roof to live under!” I hurried to the fridge and grabbed the best things out it. Most of the fridge was filled with beer ofcourse…  10 minutes later i was able to serve him with some kimchi ramen. He said nothing so I supposed it was good and so I went back up stairs.

Next morning I woke up around 6AM and fast went down stairs to make my father some breakfast. I’m glad he didn’t woke up yet or else he would have beaten me up pretty badly…

I went back upstairs to grab my school stuff and decided to lunch while walking to school.

‘ya look there she comes!’ ‘uwaaa she really is cool don’t u think?’ That’s how it went almost every school day. People were envying me or thought I was annoying. Reality? I wish i could switch with someone… Having a nice and good caring dad, and a mom that still lived and hugged me once in a while.. I had great scores at school, that was the only thing I was proud at. The day went by fast and boring and on my way back to home I found a little girl sitting on a swing, crying. I slowly walked to her and kneeled down in front of her. “What’s wrong sweety?” I asked with the best smile I could give her. “M-mommy and d-daddy are f-fighting” She sobbed. “Don’t worry, they just need some time and when you go back home later, their not fighting anymore. I’m sure!” I tried comforting her and she jumped of the swing, hugging me. “Hmmmm I’ll tell u something. What about we play a bit here on the playground and when I have to go, you go home and see your parents. I’m sure they aren’t fighting anymore.

As time went by and the girl and me played on the swings and the slide, I really had to go home. I waved at the girl and left the playground. Behind me I heard her screaming thank you at me.. So sweet~

At the moment I came home I knew reality came back to me.. As I opened the door I felt a hand slap right in my face. Ohyeah.. Daddy was home… “Go-kitchen-now! Right after school you had to come home and cook! You really are some wothless piece of shit… Ohhhhh now I know what you were doing… U got a boyfriend huh? Did he fuck you good? Hmm?! Anwser me!” And another hand was trown to my face. I could feel my head bonk really heard.. I didn’t hesitate and went to the kitchen to make him dinner. After dinner he ordered me to bring him some beer while he was watching a football match. “I-I’m going to a friend to work on a school proje-“ “GO” Her father shut her off. She fastly walked to the door and ran tot the playground. She sat down at the same wing the little girl sat, and cried. She wasn’t going to a friend, she just needed some time for herself.

“Unni!” I heard a familiar voice scream at me. I fastly removed the tears from my cheeks and looked up at the girl I had seen in the afternoon. “Unni, what you said was true! My parents didn’t fight anymore and I was exdtreeeeeeemly happy!” She said excited. Nara put on her best smile and nodded. “Unni… why are you crying..? What happend?” She said worried when she saw the tears that were falling over her cheek once again. “Hmmh nothing, you shouldn’t worry~”

“Danbi! There are you, we searched for you everywhere!” “Umma…Sorry.. I searched for her because she helped me forget when you two fought. She cheered me up and I wanted to thank her..” She pointed to finger to Nara and looked down at her Shoes because she did something wrong in the eyes of her parents. “Ehh, really? Thank you my dear. We just had a little fight, nothing serious.. but thank you for taking care of her in the spare time!” She said bowing to Nara.

“No problem.. really~” Nara anwsered and gave another fake smile. Her head hurted like hell and she needed some rest. “Unni thank you!” She once again hugged her. Nara had no strenght left and her head was about to explode from pain. She fell backwards from the swing with Danbi on her chest.

“Unni! Unni wake up!” Danbi screamed at her. Dambi’s parents called an ambulance as fast as they could and were really shocked. What could have happened to that girl?

Nara woke up in the hospital.. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She was taken into the hospital because of brain damage. There was a bleeding in her head because of the hits she got from her dad. One of them hit her temple.

“Unni! You woke up!” Dambi came running into the hospital room. “Danbi, calm down, no running in the hospital..” Her parents followed. “How are you feeling dear?” Danbi’s mother asked. Nara just nodded and looked around scared. How could these people care for someone like me? I have to leave, when my dad finds out about the hospital funds I’m death  meat! I trew the blankets away from me and did my best to stand and run out of the room. Danbi’s parents not understanding what happend, watched in horror. Nara ran through the hallway. Her head still had bandage around it and walking up straight was impossible. Nara fell down, not enough strenght to stand up again.

“Why are you running?! You could kill yourself with ur braindamage.. You have to rest!” Danbi’s mother said. “I-I don’t care.. Let me die now..please!”

Behind Danbi’s mother, Danbi was crying and hiding. “D-danbi.. S-sorry..”Nara started crying now too..

“W-we know about your dad.. We called the police and they found him drunk at home.. He was brought to prison.. He won’t hurt you anymore, so please don’t do this!” Now even Danbi’s mother was crying. Danbi’s father now also joined after informing the nurses. “Yeobo can I talk to you for a second?” Danbi’s parents walked a little farther and Nara just thought about the fact her dad couldn’t hurt her anymore.. A small smile was forming on her face but the tears never stopped.

“Danbi, meet your new sister! She is going to live with us now, as long as she want to ofcourse!” Danbi’s mother said happy, when hearing her husband agreed to this. “Unni! Pleaseeeeee say yes! Pleeeeeeassseeeeee~!”

After 2 weeks of enough rest in the hospital, Nara moved in with Danbi’s family. She started living a normal life now and at school she still had one of the best grades..
