How everything started (1/1)

8 months ago... Sowon looked all around, she was a little lost, this university was so big compared to her little high school. Luckily she had friends here, there were not following the same classes but would still see each other time to time, or at least that was what Sowon hoped. Sowon wasn’t that shy, but she wasn’t that much outgoing either. She would always hear about students spending more time having fun and going to parties than studying and she knew it would not be the case for her. Sowon liked to study, she was finally following classes she liked and was interested in, she worked hard in high school to be able to be here and she would try her best to get good grades and graduating without any problems. The only thing that was making her nervous was the campus dorm. This school was quite far away from her house and she had to stay in a dorm, sharing her room with a complete stranger… Sowon was organized and studious, she repeated herself that it would be okay, that she would just mind her own business and ignore her roommate if the girl would be annoying. But deep down she was still a little scared. She walked to the information booth and smiled at a boy who stood up as she approached. “Hello, new student?” he asked taking a brochure and giving it to Sowon as she nodded. “The dorm is over there, you probably received the numbers and all other informations some days ago right?” he asked and Sowon nodded again. “Yeah, I got this letter…” she said taking out a letter from her bag, she let go of her suitcase and opened it to show it to the guy. “I can’t find the room…” she said a little embarrassed. It wasn’t complicated, she found the dorm but it was quite big and she was unable to find her room number. The boy frowned. “Seems like there is an error here…” he said as he excused himself and turned around to poke one of his colleague. Sowon waited and the two guys came back to her. “You couldn’t find this room this number doesn’t exist yet, the school is gonna built a second building to create more rooms but it’s not done yet and I don’t know why you got a wrong number…” explained the other boy. Sowon waited a little confused. “So do I get another room? I start my first classes tomorrow and I would like to have a place to stay…” she shyly said and the two guys nodded. “Of course, you should go ask the dean, she will know what to do better than us, we’re just senior students helping to guide the new students…” explained the first boy Sowon talked to shyly and clearly embarrassed too. “Okay, thank you for your help.” said Sowon politely before walking away taking her luggage and putting her bag back on her shoulders. She opened the brochure and looked for the indications to find the dean’s office. She got there quickly and met a very nice lady, she was probably in her late 50 but was dressing in very classy clothes. The woman apologized for the mistakes and asked Sowon to follow her as she found which room she should have been assigned. They went to the dorm building and Sowon followed the dean through the corridors, there was so many students around, moving boxes and luggages into the rooms. They stopped in from of a room and the lady knocked. Quickly someone opened the door. Sowon looked at the smiling girl, she was really pretty and seemed very friendly as she greeted them politely, a sweet smile on her lips. They entered the room, Sowon looked around and smiled the room was nice, this girl seemed to have good reading taste as there was interesting books on the shelf. Sowon focused back on the girl, she was really pretty, and tall, almost as tall at her and Sowon was very tall. She had long straight hair and a cute band hiding her forehead. “I would like to introduce you your roommate.” said the dean pointing at Sowon. “There was a mistake in the room assignment but we found her.” explained the woman nicely. The girl frowned. “I… I already have a roommate, we moved in this morning at the same time.” explained the girl taking her letter out and showing to the dean before looking on the desk and finding the other girl letter. “Here.” she said as she gave the second letter to the dean who looked closer at it. “Yuju I got us a-” They all turned around to see who was talking. Here was standing a cute girl, she wasn’t very tall, and had a very cute face, just like a baby. Sowon smiled at her and the girl put down the bag she had in hand on the desk to greet everyone. “What is happening?” she asked to her roommate as the dean took out her phone and walked away to make a call. Yuju got closer to her. “A problem with the room number.” she explained quickly. “Do one of us have to leave?” she asked and Yuju shook her shoulders. “I don’t know Umji... ” Sowon looked at them a little worry. “I don’t think they will make you move out, you got the right room it’s mine that have a mistake.” she explained to them. “I’m sorry that we bother you like that…” she said politely but both girls shook their heads. “No problem, it’s always a little complicated on first days…” said Yuju nicely. Sowon sighed. “I hope there really is a room for me somewhere…” “I’m sure there is.” smiled Umji as she patted Sowon’s arm. “What classes are you following?” she asked and Sowon smiled before answering, they kept talking while the dean was making some phone calls. Sowon was glad she met those girls, they shared some classes together and Sowon was reassured to know some people before the classes started. The dean approached them and smiled. “Well seems like there isn’t any room assigned to you… ” she said to Sowon. “But we will find something.” she said determined before looking at the two other girls and apologizing for bothering them. Sowon once again followed the woman to another room. Sowon hopped this time it was the good. They knocked and a short girl opened. “Oh hello.” she quickly said before bowing politely seeing the dean. They entered and Sowon was reassured to see one of the two bed was empty just like half of the shelf. The dean looked at Sowon and made sign for her to put her stuff on the free bed. “The girl assigned here changed school at last minute.” she explained and Sowon nodded. “So now this is your room. Once again we’re sorry for the mistake, come see me if one of you need anything.” smiled the woman before leaving them. Sowon looked around and smiled before looking again at the short girl. She was pretty, she had short hair and a bang, she was very small but also kinda cute. She seemed shy as any of them said a word yet. Sowon smiled. “Hi, I’m Sowon and I will be your roommate.” she said offering her hand to the short girl. “My name is Eunha.” she answered shaking Sowon’s hand. Both of them looked at each other and smiled before realizing they were still holding hands. Sowon cleared her throat and let go of Eunha’s hand before turning around and putting her luggage on the bed. As her back was turned Sowon smiled and looked at her hand, Eunha’s hand was so warm and soft. Sowon shook her head and opened her suitcase. She turned around to look at the closet and saw Eunha still standing there, the girl was looking at her and hadn’t moved. “Everything’s alright?” asked Sowon confused. Eunha arched and eyebrow before looking away shyly, a light blush on her cheeks. “Sorry…  yeah everything’s fine… I… didn’t mean to… to stare, I’m sorry…” stuttered Eunha and Sowon tried to hide her smile thinking about how cute the short girl was. “It’s just that you’re so tall and pretty…” added Eunha as she sat on her bed and balanced her legs slowly. This time it was Sowon that blushed. “Hmm… thank you…?” she said before turning away and taking out her clothes to start putting them in the closet. She opened one side but it wasn’t the good one, Eunha’s stuff were already there and half of it fall out of the closet. The short girl quickly stood up her eyes wide open and went to pick up her clothes. “Sorry, I put everything in without folding it… I was so tired after moving in...” she said a little embarrassed while Sowon opened the other side and put her clothes there, making sure they were well folded and well organized. Then she helped Eunha putting her clothes back in her part of the closet. Once they were done with the clothes, Eunha looked at her and smiled. “You look very organized…” said Eunha as she saw Sowon now putting her books on the shelf and classifying them. Sowon just nodded. “I’m not that organized…” confessed the short girl and Sowon turned around to look at her. “It’s not a problem as long as you don’t mess with my stuff I don’t mind.” she said and Eunha swallowed hard. The short girl shyly sat back on her bed and looked down. “Don’t worry I won’t touch your stuff…” she said sounding like a kid that just got scolded. Sowon smiled and went closer, she sat on her bed facing Eunha. “That’s not what I mean, you can touch or use my stuff, we’re roommates now so we better get along and help each other as much as we can, but just try to give them back to me or put them back where you found them.” explained Sowon nicely and Eunha looked up at her smiling before nodding. “You can also use my stuff if you need it.” said Eunha happily. “Thank you.” said Sowon smiling before looking at the bed she was sitting on. “Help me make the bed?” asked Sowon as she stood up and took the clean sheets. Eunha nodded and quickly stood up to help Sowon. While doing the bed and as Sowon finished installing all her stuff, they talked about school, about classes and Sowon smiled as Eunha confessed she took only obligatory classes and no optional classes so she would have more time to nap. “Looks like you love to nap.” said Sowon with a teasing tone and Eunha giggled. “Yeah, I spend most of my time sleeping or eating, I don’t think I will bother you or something.” explained Eunha getting a little less shy around Sowon now. “Well I spend most of my time studying so I think we will be fine together.” laughed Sowon. “I do sleep and eat too.” she added and Eunha giggled again. “Of course, what food do you like?” asked the short girl and they talked more about themselves, learning more about each other. When everything was good, Sowon looked at the desk. “Do you mind if I use the desk, I got my schedule for tomorrow and I would like to work a little and prepare my notebooks and all…” said Sowon pointing to the desk they would share starting now. To be honest Sowon was a little disappointed that there was only one desk in their room but it was a big one so maybe if needed they could still both work together on it or maybe Sowon would just got to the library to work. Eunha shook her head. “No no, you don’t have to ask, it’s yours too, plus I will go out a little and see if my friends are good in their room.” explained Eunha taking her phone and walking out. “See you later Sowon.” she smiled and Sowon nodded before waving at the short girl and starting her work. As Sowon was almost done, she looked around, the room was so calm, she realised it was late when she saw how dark it was outside by the window. She looked at Eunha’s empty bed and put away her stuff before preparing her bag. Sowon was a little stressed for her first day of class but she was also excited. She heard a light knock on the door before Eunha slowly entered a paper bag in hands, she smiled at Sowon and put the bag on the desk. “I went out to buy some food, hungry?” she asked and Sowon shook her head but her tummy betrayed her and growled loudly making Eunha giggle cutely. “I took enough for two and I don’t wanna eat all alone.” said Eunha opening the bag and handing some food to Sowon who shyly took it and sat on the floor beside her bed. Eunha took the rest of the food and came to sit beside the tall girl. “Thank you.” said Sowon as they started eating. Eunha smiled at her and they continued to eat. Sowon felt good, her day started with some difficulties but now it was soon time to go sleep and she was feeling calm and secure, she was glad she was sharing a room with a girl like Eunha. The short girl was cute and nice, Sowon was curious to get to know her more. Sowon smiled as Eunha stuffed a big piece of food in her mouth and had difficulty chewing it. Eunha turned to look at Sowon and caught her eyes on her. Sowon smiled with a light blush while Eunha tried to smile but was still having a hard time with her mouth full of food, she blushed too clearly embarrassed. As she finished her mouth she looked down. “I really love this…” she confessed and Sowon laughed. “I can see that.” answered Sowon nicely making Eunha less embarrassed. “My favorite are those ones.” said Sowon pointing to the food she liked most. Eunha arched an eyebrow and took the food to feed Sowon. “Here you can have it if you like it.” she said waiting for Sowon to open her mouth. Sowon was a little surprised but opened her mouth and waited for Eunha to feed her. Eunha was really gentle and sweet. Sowon smiled as she finished her food. “How is it?” asked Eunha curious. “Delicious.” said Sowon and Eunha smiled happily. They continued to eat together and talk about their favorite food, Sowon liked to listen to Eunha opening up to her and tell her more about her. Once they were done, Eunha went to shower while Sowon decided to clean, then when the bathroom was free it was Sowon’s turn to use it. When she came out clean and in her pyjama, Eunha was already rolled in her blanket. Sowon smiled at the sight and went to her bed, she turned off the light and relaxed in her new bed, her new room, her new place… Sowon closed her eyes waiting for the sleep to come when she heard Eunha move in her bed. “Sowon...?” asked Eunha in a whisper. “Are you sleeping?” Sowon turned on her side to face Eunha even if in the dark she couldn’t see the short girl. “Not yet, I don’t think I will sleep well, first night in a new place isn’t good usually.” she answered nicely. “I’m glad you are my roommate. I was so sad when they told me I would be alone because the girl sharing my room changed school… I was really scared to stay here all alone, but with you I’m sure everything will be alright.” said the short girl sincerely. Sowon smiled and nodded. “Yeah, I’m glad too.” she answered nicely. “Let’s try to sleep now we have our first classes tomorrow.” said Sowon and she heard Eunha giggle. “Okay, good night Sowon…” “Good night Eunha.” answered Sowon as she turned on her back and closed her eyes again.
