Possibilities are endless (1/2)
I remember when we first met. She was so cute back then, stuttering every other word or so because she was so nervous. Her Korean was pretty bad, so having me to translate and to just plain talk to(in English) calmed her down. I remember we became close friends. I remember how her confidence went up, along with her Korean. I remember how she confessed and I said yes. I remember our first date and how it wasn't typical. It had the occasional shopping at the mall and all, but we were so comfortable just laughing to ourselves, joking and gossiping on the latest music groups. We were so happy. But I feel like we've lost that spark. I don't know why, we just did. It's like we stopped talking and everything else tumbled after. Like dominos. Now we're just... two people, who act like a happy couple. “Soojung?” I snapped out of my thoughts and saw a worried Amber. I snap out of my thoughts. Amber was taking me out on a date despite our condition. And it's a really good date so far. Who am I to ruin it? “Yah, who said you could use my Korean name?” I joke. She only laughs. “Sorry, Krys, you were spacing out and I didn't know if you'd return. We still have stuff to do after all,” She says with a big smile. I return her smile. In all honesty, I like this. It feels like the old days, the ones that we lost. I'm not sure if I should start regaining hope or if I should just ignore it but I shove away those thoughts as we reach a frozen yogurt place. We order the usual and take a seat, talking about everything and nothing, laughing along the way. “Hm, it's been a long time since we got frozen yogurt. I remember last time you got some on your nose! I still don't know how you managed that if you're eating from a cup and using a spoon!” She laughs. “Yah! I was hungry okay?!” I yell at her. Of course, she only laughs more and my yell didn't exactly have the effect I wanted since I did nothing about the silly smile on my face. We finish our frozen yogurt and continue our date. A festival was near by so we decide to check it out. We walk around, earning prizes here and there. Amber tried her hand at the hoops and she hasn't lost her basketball touch from her highs school days and I got lucky with some of the dart games. Either way, it was hilarious watching Amber balance funnel cake on her head(her hat got powdered sugar in the process) and taking pictures with a random clown cut-out. We take a taxi back to the busy part of the city and go for some karaoke. I'm usually not one for it since I'm very self-conscious of my singing skills but it's just me and Amber. I know she enjoys my singing so I can relax. We sing random songs and laugh when we mess up or if the song is dumb. I was tired from all the laughing so we decided one more song from Amber. Her choice: Into Your World(Angel) by EXO, Korean version. The song is a gentle ballad. I smile at Amber being romantic. She starts to sing and I translate in my head. This moment feels like I was born as a child who knew nothing
I closed my eyes again in case it would be a dream
You were standing in front of my desperate self and praying
Just once, I want to walk side by side with you I listen carefully. Her voice is sincere and gentle and I stayed silent. Taken by the soft wind to your world
You asked me brightly where I came from to your side
And I told you that it was a secret
Wherever we walk together
Will be paradise I start to wonder why shy chose this song, but I shove it away and focus on her singing once more. You are an eye-blinding entity compared to Michael
Who would remember you, I will not forgive it
Like the beginning when stepping into Eden
Believing you every day from the bottom of my heart I always want to protect you
So that even the small things won’t tire you out, I’m eternally in loveAs your guardian, I will block the stiff wind
