OF SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND B (1/1)

As Luhan and Minseok got the plastic devil child to calm down, it was nearly three a.m. Both exhausted and slightly irritable, climbed back into their bunks for what few hours of sleep they could manage to get.  “I swear teachers made this project to make sure we die before our lives even start.” Minseok mumbled in a chafed manner.  Luhan let out a sigh he didn’t even know he was holding. “Something like that…” The younger replied.  ------------------------------------------------------------ When they did fall asleep, they were woken up what seemed like almost the second they had managed to drift off.  Both boys dragged their groggy bodies to the bathroom, trying to get at least half ready for the day.  “Are you hungry at all?” Minseok mumbles lethargically. To tired to even answer, Luhan just stared at the clean tanned walls, grunting in acknowledgment. The elder quickly went off to see what he could cook up before they had to leave for school. ------------------------------------------------------------------

Sure enough twenty minutes later Minseok comes out with two bowls of porridge and toast ( which smelled heavenly to Luhan).   “It’s not much, but it was either this or the weird breakfast thing my mom has in the fridge. Honestly I didn’t think you would like that so porridge it is.”  Minseok smiled brightly. “Thank you… you really didn’t have to go through the trouble to make something, we could of just had granola bars or something.” The blonde states rather bashfully. “Oh no, really it was no problem. I quite like cooking actually.” Minseok’s smile only grew bigger. “Is that a hobby of yours other than soccer?” “Yup!” Could you get anymore perfect? --------------------------------------------------------------------- With both boys done with their meal, they are out the door ready to head for school. While walking Luhan was going through a quick mental check if he did everything he was supposed to. Do my math work: check. Call my mom: check. Turn all the lights and appliances off in Minseok’s room: check. Grab  Myungki before they left: che- wait… MYUNGKI! “WE FORGOT MYUNGKI!!” Luhan wailed. Minseok turns to him, eye wide with fear and shock. “Are you serious? SHIT!” As soon as it was out, both sprint to Minseok’s building to grab their forgotten ‘child’. -------------------------------------------------------------     By the time they get to school, both are panting, trying to catch their breath from running half across town to make it to school on time. “Can this… day… get any worse?” Minseok pants out, eyebrows creased together in obvious frustration.  Luhan, to out of breath, just leans over hands on his knees. “I… didn’t mean… to … forget the damn… baby.” He pants out, a bit sour for being yelled at by Minseok.  “It doesn’t matter… as long as we didn’t forget him I guess…” The redhead mumbled.  “Now hurry or we’ll be late for class!” --------------------------------------------------------------Since Minseok had Myungki  the duration of most of the week so far, Luhan felt obligated to keep him for the whole day instead of just having him for the first half of the day.  Right about now though, he was starting to wish he hadn't.  Though Luhan had craved Minseok’s attention, he didn’t want every girl in his first hour class. The second he walked in they had swarmed him asking him questions about the baby and Minseok.  Luhan just sat there head spinning from all the questions and from all the different perfume scents mingling together in the blonds nostrils.  As Mrs.Lee walked in, she barked out orders for everyone to sit in their seats. Luhan breathed out a sigh of relief.  He wasn’t very sure if He could handle so many people around him at one time.  Slumping in his desk, Luhan breath in heavily through his nose, wishing the day was over already.  ------------------------------------------------------ Minseok really couldn’t help it, even if he tried. He was worried about Luhan and Myungki. He knew how the girls got during the last semester of school. All the guys tried to hold off taking the personal econ class for the very project they were doing now, thus meaning the last semester was male dominant. And due to this one factor, girls tend to get a little to up close and personal to any male with the cursed baby dolls.  If Minseok’s hunches on Luhan were right, then being crowded was something he wasn’t very fond of.   “Hey Seok~ What’s with the long face?”  Minseok jumps back, surprised by the deep voice. Looking up he spots one of his friends leaning against his desk. “Christ Chanyeol, could you not do that please?” He all but begs. “Sorry, but really what’s with the long face?” The taller male questions.  “I-it’s nothing really.” Chanyeol just gives him a perturbed glance. “Honestly, I’m just tired from that stupid baby keeping me up all night, that’s all.” “What ever you say man, I’m gonna go bug Kris now. Later~” Minseok groans lowly, this was gonna be a hell of a day. ------------------------------------------------- Down, up. Down, up. Luhan pants as his gym teacher has the class do push ups. Sure Luhan was athletic, but that didn’t necessarily mean he was any good with upper arm strength. In all honesty he was pretty weak in the arm department.  Shakily leaning down again, arms bent, knees straight, Luhan gives one last push up before clasping. “Gee willikers hyun, I think I’m just so impressed by your manly man strength.” Sehun chides.  “Oh shut it will you? You did worse than me and I didn’t think that was even possible.” “I didn’t do bad by lack of skill, oh no no, I did it by choice.” Luhan stands up to his full height, staring at Sehun’s nose. “Sure you did Oh Sehun, sure you did.”  Sehun fakes a gasp, hand covering his uniform clad chest. “Hyung you hurt me with your cruel words.” “They aren't cruel Sehun, their the truth.” Luhan pushes himself up off the floor to look at the others still going on their up down pattern.  “Hey, hyung, do you think if did my hair up all nice-like Jongin would ask me out?”  Sehun asks albeit timidly.  Luhan looks over at Sehun, confusion written on his face. “You like Jongin?”  Before Sehun has the chance to answer the question, Myungki lets out a wail. Luhan himself feels like crying, the plastic baby had cried at any chance it got. Mainly Myungki cried when Luhan was in the middle of a lecture from teachers and most embarrassingly while taking a test. That’s all his little devil did, cry, pee, and cry some more. Luhan wasn’t even sure the thing slept with the amount of times he woke up last night.  Gingerly picking up the baby, Luhan began to rock it, patting its’ back softly, trying to sooth the crying. When is it Minseok’s turn to take him? Luhan thinks desperately. ------------------------------------------- As lunch time rolls around, Luhan is more than happy to drop the baby carrier into Minseok’s lap, eye’s blood shot and hair a wild mess. “What happened to you?” Minseok asks. Luhan, already tired and frustrated, just gives Minseok a pointed look, “That baby happened. That’s what.” He gets out bitterly.  With that, Luhan stomps off to get lunch. ---------------------------------------------- “Home sweet home~!” Minseok yells as they enter the apartment.  Luhan just looks on fondly as Minseok swings his arms about. he never really thought the elder could act so cute. He lets out a little giggle as he watches Minseok trip over the pair of shoes they had bought Myungki. Minseok turns a lovely shade of red, “You didn’t see that right?” He asks, embarrassment laced through his voice.  Luhan laughs, setting the baby carrier on the table. “Noo~ I saw nothing at all.” Sarcasm evident as ever. Minseok just crouches into a fetal position trying to hide himself. “Now I’ve ruined my cool image haven’t I?” He wails. “Only a little.”  “ Minseok, if you watch the baby I’ll cook dinner, sound fair?” The red head nods, slowly crawling toward their plastic boy.  ------------------------------------------ As Luhan had expected, the Kim’s kitchen was just as stunning and high tech as the rest of the house. Looking through the fridge, cupboards, and pantry Luhan had figured on what to make; pork dumplings.  Even if Luhan wasn’t the best cook in the world he was confident enough in his skills that he could do this. His friend Yixing had always been a good cook and often showed Luhan how to cook simple dishes (pork dumplings being one of the many).  Gathering all the necessary ingredients, the teen went about preparing the dumplings filling, adding various different things into a large bowl mixing it with his hands until he was sure it was all mixed together. As soon as the wanton skins were filled, Luhan set to steaming them, placing each creation in the steamer carefully.   Once everything was set Luhan started on making various side dishes; miso soup, rice, dipping sauces and so on. ------------------------------------------- Minseok had fallen asleep sometime during the duration of Luhan cooking, so when the blonde goes to get him for dinner he’s a little shocked to see him asleep on the living room couch with their child in his arms (asleep as well because Luhan could hear the synthetic baby snores it made). Quietly, he walks closer to the elder, he pushes at his shoulder to rouse him from his slumber.   Minseok’s eye flutter open. Luhan can’t help the little catch in his breath, he’s never seen someone so beautiful in his life and the fact that he looks this good after waking up just kills Luhan a little more on the inside. Oh how did I become so lucky as to be partnered with a beautiful god like this? Luhan quickly catches himself before he stares for too long, clearing his throat he mutters that dinner is ready and for Minseok to follow him.  Set up on the table was something that looked like it came out of a housing catalogue, pristine white plates adorned with food that looked too good to be true. Minseok never thought that his own house could look as if Martha Stewart had decorated it for them. “This looks… amazing.” Minseok states rather breathlessly. Luhan rubs his upper arm in embarrassment, muttering out nonsensical things about this being nothing. The shorter turns toward him with a face of utter disbelief. “Nothing? This doesn’t look like just nothing, where did you even learn to do all this?” He asks gesturing toward the table set up. “O-oh, well I learned to cook from my f-friend Yixing and the table set up from my grandmother when I had a summer job at her restaurant.” Luhan stutters out, looking at the floor as if it was the most interesting thing he’d seen all day. “That’s actually pretty cool.” Luhan lifts his head up, fringe partially covering his eyes, “really?” “I mean yeah, I can’t really cook for shit and I’m not the best decorator in the world.” “But your room…” Luhan squeaks out. “My mom decorates it for me, I only hang the posters.” “Oh, w-well I guess we should eat before the food gets cold.”  They both sit down to have a nice home cooked meal with mindless talk from both of the teen. Each seeming to be enjoying his time with the other. ------------------------------------------------ With dishes washed and put away the head off to the room where they set Myungki in his makeshift crib they had made the other night (both too tired to hold the fake baby in their numb arms anymore).  Minseok and Luhan both start on that days homework, silently going through math equations, literature, and in Luhan’s case a physics review. As each boy finishes, Minseok let’s Luhan go wash up first. When the younger’s gone the redhead goes to his closet to look for some comfortable night closes. Rummaging around a bit he finds a box he’d never seen before.  Picking up the faded red box, he lifts the lid seeing an even more faded tissue paper covering the boxes contents. Picking away the paper Minseok is met with two itty-bitty shoes that look like they fit in the palm of his hand. The shoes were black in color, tiny white shoe string lacing the shoes together. The shoes looks pretty worn from use and Minseok could only guess that these used to be his about sixteen years ago.  Taking the shoes fully out of the box, Minseok walks over to the baby, carefully putting the shoes on his socked feet. The shoes were a little big on the doll, but Minseok couldn’t help but smile at the sight of his baby wearing the shoes his mother had gotten him so very long ago. It almost made it seem real, him being a parent with Luhan.  Minseok couldn’t help but imagine what life would be like if he and Luhan really were parents with a real child, how they would take care of it, love it, and love each other. Before the teen went to far deep into his thinking Luhan came back in freshly washed and wearing a too baggy shirt that fell off his shoulder a little, revealing his smooth pale skin.  “What are you doing?” Luhan asks softly. Gulping, Minseok turns back to the baby, “I found my old baby shoes, so I thought I’d see if they fit Myungki.” Luhan leans down next to Minseok examining the shoes adorning his childs feet. “They look cute~.”   Minseok blushes, nodding his head a little before he takes the shoes off and sets them in the box once again. Still flustered he heads off to wash up himself.  Luhan watches on a little confused as to why Minseok seemed so out of it.  ------------------------------------------------------ That night as the boys drift of to sleep, Luhan can’t help but think how cute a baby Minseok would have looked in the shoes.  Smiling he snuggles a little deeper into his pillow.---------------------------------------------------------- A/N: So umm, hi?
