Story (1/1)
The pelting rain made his eyebrows furrow. It had been pouring for hours now and nothing but the sound of water on glass could be heard. Images in the screen flickered but the television had been muted for a while now, he didn’t really care much for the sound or even what was showing. He just really needed something to make him feel less alone in this large house. His thoughts drifted all towards that face that was all too familiar to him, painfully familiar. He felt a tinge of hurt in his heart. For so long he had denied it, for so long he had tried to rationalize and find reasons as to why he shouldn't and couldn’t feel the way he did now.Memories are funny little things. You can try very hard to suppress them but in the end they will always stay with you. And these days the strongest one is of her fleeting figure slowly fading into the distance.Days had turn into weeks and those turned into months and here he is now 2 years later. Still in idle days or heat struck afternoons his mind would wander to that very certain memory. It had never really been about her walking away, it had him pushing her away. It wasn’t that he did not love her, the truth was he loved her so dearly that he didn’t want her to suffer for the chaos that is his life. Regret, it hung heavily on him. Those what ifs and if only’s that he could not address, it almost felt like it was suffocating him. Jin carded his fingers thru his hair and threw his head back letting out a deep sigh. A soft knock on the door broke the deafening silence. He looked at the door for a moment as if to make sure that there really was a knock, it took another one for him to make his way to his entryway. Thinking to himself who would be knocking at this hour in this rain, nonetheless he opened it.“Hi” She said as her lips quivered from the cold. Her clothing drenched and clung to her body. Cheeks flushed and eyes shining with tears. His heart broke “Can I come in?” she asked trying to force a smile“I’m sorry for bothering you so late I just…” he didn't need to hear the rest of those words, and he didn't care whatever it would have been. Because those days that had passed no matter how long ago they were didn’t matter right now. Jin pulled her in, enclosing her in his warmth her clothing drenching his own. Her head against his chest her arms slowly encircling him. Her body started to shake as sobs broke from her. His hands ran soothingly on the length of her back as he slowly moved them back and closed the door leaving the rain to pour on outside. When her sobs stopped she pulled away slightly, and looked down.“I shouldn’t have come here, I’m sorry.” She said as she stepped back a little further away, Jin frowned at the distance she was creating.“It’s pouring really badly out and you’re drenched, stay even just until the rain dies down.”She looked up at him unsure, her bottom lip getting caught between her teeth“Please” he urged. She nodded meekly. You’ll need to dry off otherwise you’ll get sick, for the meantime you can borrow some of my clothes.“I can’t possibly intrude more on you Jin.”“I insist” she bit her lip and nodded, she knew that he had made up his mind.He had prepared the bathroom for her and provided her with a change of clothes while he too changed into drier clothing.Jin leant against that counter as he waited for the microwave to heat up the cocoa. He had longed for her and he had longed to see her and finally here she was but all those things that wanted, no, needed to say just don't seem to want to be said. Rubbing his temples in frustration. She padded thru silently searching for Jin and finally spotting him in the kitchen. His back to her, unconsciously she studied the planes of his back, how his shoulder rippled with lean muscles. Even after all these years he still could take her breath away. He turned suddenly and looked down on her, she felt very conscious under his gaze. She felt embarrassed at her state. Dressed in his button down that was a bit too long for her. She had discarded her undergarment because that too was very much drenched. He had always thought that she was a pretty girl but right here and now she had never looked more beautiful. Her doe eyes, those plump pink lips and the way the curves of her body still seemed to show thru even under his baggy button down shirt. At that moment every rational thought seemed to have dissipated and he found himself so eagerly capturing her soft lips into his. Only for a split second had her eyes expressed the shock in his sudden action but almost instantly she had melted into the kiss. Their bodies unconsciously wound themselves around each other. His one hand resting on her cheek the other acquainting itself with the supple curves of body. Her one hand bunching the fabric on his shirt the other sliding thru the back of his neck. Jin pulled her c
