Midsummer Nights Sweetne (1/1)

Hoshi tapped his foot impatiently against the angled pavement, and then followed up by bobbing his head in sync. Seokmin was currently fiddling with the band of his sweatpants, currently deciding whether to tie it in a bow knot or a loop knot. It was a clear, cool Saturday night. Most of the cars in the neighborhood were out doing things, it honestly didn’t matter what, as long as they were away it was good for them. That meant a lesser chance of confrontation with the police. “Alright, remember. We’re taking the trampoline in the toolshed and then we’re hooking the ladder up. You got the metal chain, right?” Hoshi fired off quickly, checking his watch. “From there, we gotta pray he doesn’t break his neck otherwise Coups will kill us.” “He’ll actually kill us.” Seokmin clarified pointedly.“Why, are you bailing on me now that we’re here?” “This is without a doubt, the stupidest plan you’ve ever had.” And Seokmin experimentally gave the metal gates a tug, and the structure didn’t even budge. He flashed Hoshi a grin, “Of course I’m in.” “Excellent.” Hoshi mirrored him with a wacky, mad-science grin, something so familiar between him and the twelve of them. “Now, did you send that text to meet us here?” Speak of the devil, Seokmin wiggled his eyebrows, and nodded his head to the lone figure following them up the street. Dressed just like them in worn sneakers and equally worn sweatpants, Hansol Vernon Chwe jogged to where they were settled, a simple smile on his face. Innocent, unknowing Hansol, poor guy. “Hey guys,” Hansol shoved his hands in his pockets, looking expectantly at the two of them. “So, where are we going?”Hoshi clapped an arm around Hansol, shoving him to the front door of the house in front of them. “Ah, you know who’s house this is, right?” Hansol tried his best to avoid direct eye contact to the building in front, but it was useless. He shrugged as nonchalantly as possible, “Yeah. So, are we going out or what?”“Oh, no.” Seokmin put his arm around his opposite side. “You’re going in there.”He blushed, “No, I’m not. She’s asleep!”“Her flight leaves tomorrow.” Hoshi bated innocently.“And we’re having a solo concert, and then an Asia tour.” Seokmin continued, almost guiltily.  “This could very well be your last opportunity.” and Hoshi shoved him forward, ready to start the plan. If he noticed the terror and apprehension in Hansol’s eyes, he pretended not to notice. “Now, all you gotta do is jump.”  -A loud ‘thump’ echoed through her small balcony, and she fought the urge to jump out of her bed and start screaming bloody murder. It was way, way too early for this. Did she lock the latch before she went to sleep? Forcing her eyes open, she slowly got out of bed, clutching her pillow. Her bare feet padded across the hardwood, and she pressed herself against the balcony wall. The lock clicked open, and the double panels slowly began to turn. She raised her pillow, and nearly died of a heart attack. “Hansol!” she half-hissed. He gave her an uneasy smile. “Hi?” he toed off his shoes, and slipped into her room. His eyes started darting back and forth, because it was the first time he’s ever been there. Was she dreaming? His gaze finally landed on her pillow, eyebrows furrowed. “That was your weapon of attack? A pillow?” “Why are you here?” she asked bluntly, letting her arm fall limp. “Uh, do you wanna go get ice cream?” Was he even real?  “Who crawls through someone’s window at 4AM to get ice cream?” she cried exasperatedly. “Uh,” he said again, and looked down to rub his neck sheepishly. “Someone who’s going to miss you like crazy when we’re apart?” Exhaling, she gave up, and walked over to collapse her body on Hansol’s. She didn’t even care that he was still sweaty from practice and that he was practically breaking and entering, she was tired and he probably was as well. “Can’t we just go back to sleep?” she half-whined.  “No.” he said carefully, surprisingly firm. He pushed her away, but held her by the waist. “I’m really going to regret it if I don’t take you out one more time. Even if it’s just for a few hours.” She nodded, and did her best to rub the sleep from her eyes. “I’d regret it, too.” she murmured, ready to go pull on a hoodie and some slippers. If this was their last date together, they’d have to make the best of it, even if it was at 4AM doing who-knows-what. When she was ready to go, she noticed Hansol was still lingering by the balcony. “Wait,” she walked over to the open window, “How did you even get up here—”“Hi!” Hoshi cheered, looking like a maniac as he hopped on her trampoline. “You kids have fun!” Seokmin grinned happily, waving at them from the grass.
