I wasnt worried, by the (1/1)
The sunlight crept through Hani's curtains and she sat up, glad it was Saturday and she had the weekend ahead of her. She looked to her right and didn't see her clock- confusion crossed her face before she remembered she was living with Zico now. She could smell something cooking and in her curiosity made her forget she was still in her pyjamas. “Hey, Zico,” she smiled, walking down the stairs. His eyes, much like Yukwon's, flickered down to her legs but then focused on her crumpled face and bedhead hair.“Morning,” he replied. “Here, I made you toast!”Zico thrust a plate of toast at Hani and turned away from her.“Thanks. Did you sleep well?”
“Great, yeah. You? Is your room okay?” Zico worried and turned back around to face her.“It's better than my old one. Thank you, by the way,” Hani said as she finished the toast. “I have dancing today, so I'll be out for a while.”“Oh- your parents didn't tell me that. I'll drive you there.”“No, it's okay,” Hani told him. “I can walk. I could do with the exercise anyway!” Hani's tongue stuck out of her mouth in concentration as she struggled to clip all of her hair back into a ponytail. She grinned when she finally managed it then grabbed her dance bag. She passed Zico as she walked through the living room.“I'll be back... I don't know, around six?” Hani guessed.“Are you sure you're okay walking? I'd feel better if I knew you got there safely.”“You just want to show off your car.”“Yes... and no. Can I please drive you?”“I was trying to save you time but okay, if you must.” Silence fell as soon as Zico pulled away from the curb. Hani played with a strand of her hair and Zico concentrated on driving, and not staring at Hani. Had she got prettier overnight? Not possible. He turned to look at her for a fraction of a second and almost ran a red light, stomping on the brake just in time.“Sorry,” he said as Hani was flung forward.“It's okay,” she smiled. “We're here, anyway. I'll walk home. See you-”“Wait!” Zico grabbed her arm as she turned to get out of the car. “Let me put my number in your phone so you can call me if you need anything.”Hani nodded and pulled out her phone. Zico quickly tapped in his number then pushed it back towards her.“See you later,” he called as she walked away. She turned and waved, smiling. Zico looked down, feeling his cheeks burn. He was not blushing because of a 16-year-old, was he? He drove away, turning his attention to the road again. Hani walked into the cold practise studio and started to warm up, waiting for the rest of her class. Time ticked on and no one showed up, except for the teacher.“Looks like it's just you and me today!” the teacher grinned.“Great,” Hani tried to sound enthusiastic. Many exercises, tears, and drops of sweat later, the teacher finally told Hani she could go.“Thank you,” she said as she left. She stepped into the cold darkness and looked around before moving away from the dance school and onto the pavement, where she started walking back to Zico's house. To: Hani It's 6 now- where are you? From: Zico Hani smiled down at her phone as she walked. To: Zico I'm just walking back, I'll be there in a bit. From: Hani Hani carried on along the busy road, picking up her pace as she felt drizzle land on her face. To: Hani I wasn't worried, by the way. Just curious. From: Zico Hani laughed as she turned onto the road Zico lived on. A lone passerby looked at her weirdly, but she shrugged and kept moving. “I'm back!” Hani called as she entered the house. Zico came running to her quickly, as if he'd been waiting for her. He hugged her tightly, and she stepped back, surprised.“You're not going out again tomorrow, are you?” Zico asked her.“Nope, I have a load of homework to-”“Good. What do you want to eat?”“I don't mind.”“Is pizza okay?”“Pizza is always okay.” Zico and Hani sat on the sofas later, after finishing their pizza. Zico was slumped on one half of the sofa while Hani sat upright.“You look uncomfortable,” Zico noticed.“I'm fine,” she laughed. Zico sat up quickly and grabbed Hani's arms, pulling her down to rest her head on his chest.“Better?”“Um... yes,” Hani blushed. Zico grinned to himself, before Hani raised her hand then poked his belly. She giggled and looked up at Zico. He was watching her with an unreadable emotion on his face. Sitting up, Hani cleared her throat.“It's, uh... it's kind of late. I'm gonna go to bed.”Zico carried on watching as she stood up and moved to walk upstairs.“Wait!” Zico said, standing up as well. He kissed her on the cheek and looked away quickly so she wouldn't see him blush like earlier. “Goodnight,” he told her and pushed her lightly to go upstairs. Hani touched her cheek in shock and ran away quickly.
“Goodnight,” she called when she reached the top of the stairs. The room was dark and Hani was asleep when Zico poked his head in that night. He stood still for a while, watching her breathe and occasionally move to a more comfortable position. He dashed outside when he saw Hani's eyelids flicker, as if they were going to open.
