"Mummy, isn't daddy coming back?""No dear, daddy isn't coming back.""Why not.""Because he doesn't love us anymore.""But daddy said that he will love us forever.""Darling, there is no such thing as love lasting forever."My mind dazed of in class again. "Miss Choi. Miss CHOI! Please pay attention!" My English teacher started shouting. "Oh, I'm sorry ma'am. I got distracted."She huffed and walked back to the front of the class and resumed her lessons. The day passed as usual and it was aboutt time when the school bell rung. I got up, packed my books, and made my way out of class."Jiseong-ssi!" I turned around, almost stumbling when I heard my name. I saw my classmate, Hyerin and a boy next to her walk towards me. "Jiseong-ssi, I was wondering, if you're not busy later this evening, we could go out. We're having a party at Jongin's house. Wanna join?" She offered.Sigh. Not this again."Thank you so much for inviting me. But no thanks. I've got plenty of work at home." I said, smiling. "Sorry." And I walked out of class. Hyerin is always trying to get me to go out with some guy. I don't understand why. I mean, she told me that I need some social bonding time with guys to get to know them and relax. She said I should find someone to fall in love with. Please. Love? Why should I get involved with something that doesn't exist?Damn my shoelace is untied..I bent down to tie it, stopping right beside the classroom entrance so that Hyerin couldn't see me. "I told you she wouldn't come." Hm? That's Hyerin's voice."She'll never come in a million years. I've tried so many times. She's just so anti-social.""Maybe she just needs time."Another voice. Must be the guy that was beside her."She's probably not the type to go out partying. Maybe she's afraid."Wow. I wonder who he is. I didn't even get to look at him properly. I'm glad he's understanding. I finished tying my shoelaces and quickly walked out of the school building to go home. Home wasn't very far, so I walked there alone.Once I reached home, I greeted my mum and went up to my bedroom, turning on my phone that was switched off the entire time, and as usual, 5 missed calls and 15 text messages. From Unknown: Hi. Lets get to knw each other. I'm Kim Jaeseop. How r u? =DFrom Unknown: Hi Jiseong-ssi. Wanna hang out? :DFrom Unknown: Hey babe. Lets be friends. ;)From Unknown: Hello. Ur so pretty. I'm Shin Dongsin. X3And the list went on and on. Ugh, these guys just won't give up. I've seen at least half of these names before. I don't understand why they'd want to make friends with me for no reason. I've tried answering some of them before, and then they started talking about shit like, will you be my girlfriend, or, I think we're meant for each other, or even, can I have your heart, like how you've taken mine? Eww, just eww. It's annoying. I deleted all the messages and layed down on bed for some sleep. m style="font-family:'helvetica neue';">"What happened to us? What about your daughter?" Mum raised her voice to dad as the 5 year old me watched silently from behind the door crack. "I'm sorry. I have to go." Dad replied. m style="font-family:'helvetica neue';">"Don't you love us anymore?" Mum cried desperately. Dad looked away, then walked out of the door without a reply, leaving mum on the floor crying in her hands. I woke up, feeling tears in my eyes. I hate that dream. Well, it wasn't even a dream, just a piece of memory I could never forget. It's not like I wanted to forget it anyway. The next day, I left to school as usual. Same old boring day, subjects, friends. Nothing out of the ordinary, except when Kim Jongin and his friends came late and got detention. Must be cause of the partying he had last night. I chuckled silently to myself, glad I didn't join them. After school I walked out of the school gates, heading home as usual. Except, I realised that I wasn't alone. There were footsteps behind me. A stalker? Usually nobody comes the same way I do on my way home. Who is this? I wanted to know, but I was afraid to turn around. I quickened my pace, trying to get as fat as I can from the other. After a moment, his pace quickened too. "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" I cursed under my breath, as he seemed to get closer. I tried to run but it was too late. I felt a grip at my arm. "Excuse me!" He said. I froze. Then in a second, I turned around to shout at him. "Let go!" Before realising who it was. That boy in class yesterday. The one who was standing beside Hyerin-ssi when she invited me to Jongin's party. The one who seemed understanding. He looked at me, a little startled at my reaction."Oh, I'm so sorry I scared you. I didn't mean to. You're Choi Jiseong right?" He asked me. Feeling weak, I nodded, then waved my hand while replying. "It's alright. I thought you were some stalker. Yeah I am. Why?""You.." He looked down, then brought up his hand towards me while opening his palm, revealing a key. My key. My house key! "You dropped this." You looked at him, wide eyed, feeling extremely careless and thanked him. He shook his head and shrugged plainly. "Nah, it's alright." Then held out his hand again, this time for a handshake. "I'm Oh Sehun by the way." You shook his hand, then frowned lightly."I've never seen you come this way. Are you a new student?""No, I've been here for 2 years already. I live right around the corner and usually my mum picks me up everyday. But recently she got a new job somewhere else, so I'm forced to walk home. It's my first time walking today." He chuckled, a bit embarrassed. You nodded, understanding his explanation. The two of you walked silently, before he strikes a conversation. "Well, if you don't mind me asking, why didn't you want to go to Jongin's party yesterday?""Oh, uh, I just don't like parties." I simply replied. "Oh.." He nodded. "Sehun..." "Yeah?""No, I mean, you said 'oh', so I said 'Sehun'.. You know, that's your name. Heheh, get it?" I tried to joke. He just blinked at me, confused. God, that is so embarrassing!"Sorry." I blushed, embarrassed as hell. "Lame joke.." Suddenly he burst out in laughter. "Ohhh! I get it now!" He laughed loudly. "You were making fun of me weren't you?" He said teasingly. I panicked. "No! No! I didn't mean it that way. I.. I just.." He burst out laughing again. This time, making me laugh along. "I know. It's a joke. I was just messing with you." He grinned at me. Wierdest day ever. Yet, it was a pretty memorable day. We walked to my house and he watched me go in before he went home. How nice of him.The next morning, I quickly ate up breakfast and waved my mum goodbye before walking out the door to go to school. As I walked out the gate, I jumped to see Sehun sitting down beside the gate casually, playing with the grass. "What are you doing here?" I cried in shock."Oh, good morning to you too!" He said, sarcastically teasing me. I just stared at him, waiting for an answer. "Well, I was just waiting for you. We could walk to school together the same way we walk back, everyday. If you don't mind, that is." He smiled cheerily at me. I let out a grin. This is one funny boy. But cute too.We walked to school together, gainig some weird looks from other people as we entered the school gate. What's their problem? Even our classmates were looking funny at us as we entered class, especially Hyerin. She was smiling. Cheekily smiling."Made a new friend, I see." She whispered to me as I sat down on my place infront of her. Sehun sat at the other side of class with the other boys, glancing at me with a small smile. "Yes." I plainly replied the nosey girl. "Yes, I did." She smiled brightly. "Is he nice?" She asked, rather teasingly. I gave her a weirded look. "Don't you already know him? You should know if he's nice or not.""I only know him as a jerk." She shrugged to herself. I turned around at her. "What?" "Oh, it's nothing. He has numbers. Thats all." She quickly smiled at me innocently. I tilted my head as if to say 'Huh?', making her smile fade into a gentle smirk. "Ask him yourself if you really want to know." Then she resumed what she was doing earlier. I frowned and turned back, wondering about what Hyerin said. Then I glanced, just slightly, at Sehun, watching him laugh and joke around with his friends. The day went by faster than I expected, and before I knew it, school was over. It was strange though, how happy I was that school was over. I was pretty excited to walk home with Sehun. "Hey Jiseong-ssi!" He waved at me as I waited for him near the school gates. I waved back and we walked back together, talking and laughing about crazy things. There were some awkward moments, especially when I made more lame jokes that he didn't get. But we kept laughing it off and making fun of eachother. It felt like we had known each other since forever. And the best part was, he felt the same way too.As if time was ina rush, we reached home in, what it felt like, a minute. "We have arrived at your destination, Miss Choi." he bowed jokingly, pretending to be a flight attendent. I laughed at his childish behaviour, but decided to play along. "Thank you, sir." I winked and we laughed as I entered my house, waving him goodbye. He waved back and walked away to his home."Who's that boy, dear?" My mum suddenly chirruped from the kitchen. She must have saw me and him laugh together. "Oh, no one. Just a friend." I replied."JUST a friend?" She asked again, emphasizing on the word 'just'. I huffed amusingly at her question. I knew what she was thinking. She thought he was more than a friend. "Yes mum. JUST a friend." I replied, purposely emphasizing on the 'just' again. She smiled and nodded before I walked up to my room. Just a friend huh? I caught myself smiling at the thought. Impossible. There's no such thing as more than friends. Maybe this feeling I get around him, it's just my hormones acting all weird. Yeah.. Just hormones. The next day, I walked to school with Sehun again, and as usual, he was being all funny and cute. I kept laughing at how silly he could be, and he seemed to enjoy making me laugh. We reached school and I sat down on my own desk while he sat on his, smiling at me when he caught me glancing. I blushed."Wow, I've never seen you go red before." I jumped slightly in shock and turned around to see Hyerin smiling at me with her elbows on her desk and her hands on her cheeks. "Gosh Hyerin, you scared me." I said. She chuckled and moved her eyes to Sehun before looking back at me. "Something going on between you two?" Her cheeky grin grew on her face. I turned back around, looking infront and ignoring her. "Oh come on." She cried from behind. "I'm just a curious girl here." I smiled to myself and just continued to ignore her. I couldn't wait till school ended. A/N: So, yeah. Finally I have updated this chapter. I know it's a 'oneshot'. But it seemed too long for only one chapter, so I've decided to make two chapters.
