The Wall Between Us - Cha (1/1)

Sunggyu spent days and nights beside the unconscious Woohyun.  No matter what the doctors and nurses said, he refused to leave Woohyun's side.  He never wanted for things to turn out this way.  When he found out that Woohyun was the son of the couple that he killed, he had wanted to distance himself but in the end, he could not help his attraction to the boy.  He had hoped that Woohyun would never find out but he knew deep down that secrets cannot be kept for long.  He wondered if Woohyun would ever forgive him.  The thought brought a bitter smile to his face.  As if you can ever forgive the one who killed your parents, thought Sunggyu.

He caressed Woohyun's face tenderly before leaning down to place a gentle kiss on Woohyun's lips.  "I'm so sorry," he whispered.  "Nothing good will ever come if we are together.  Goodbye."

Sunggyu got up about to head for the door when he heard movements behind him.  He turned back to see Woohyun grimacing in pain as he tried to sit up.  Relief swept over him to see Woohyun awake.  He wanted to run over and pull the boy into his arms but he knew he couldn't."You shouldn't move," Sunggyu told him.  "Unless you want your wound to reopen."He saw Woohyun turn to look at him.  He was surprised to see Woohyun staring at him with the same warm eyes, which only made his guilt greater."I-" He heard Woohyun say."I came to warn you," Sunggyu stated abruptly.  He needed to end this now.  "Don't ever come near me again." It pained him to see Woohyun shocked at having to hear those words.  He saw the tears in Woohyun's eyes but he had to do it.  He turned away from the boy and walked out the door.

Myungsoo stepped out from the corner he was hiding as he watched Sunggyu disappear down the hallway.

The man stood waiting in the abandoned warehouse when he heard footsteps approaching.  He smirked, knowing who it was.  He turned to face the latecomer, but was shocked when he was met with a gun at his head."What are you doing?" asked the man, slightly panicking at the unexpected greeting.  "Are you crazy?""Maybe I am."  A smile crept on the figure's face as he pressed his gun to the man's forehead.  "I'm sick of this game."

It was raining the night Woohyun was discharged from the hospital.  He walked out into the pouring rain, not caring that he was drenched.  Conflicting thoughts and emotions clouded his mind.  He had always wanted to know the truth about his parents' death, but now he wished he never knew.  The truth was too painful and he couldn't help the tears that strolled down his cheeks.  Each day, he waited in his hospital bed, hoping to see Sunggyu but the older man never came again.  He wanted so much to see Sunggyu, but knew he couldn't show up at his door.  After all, he was rejected once again.

After wandering about aimlessly, he started to grow weary from the cold and rain.  His head was spinning and he could barely walk straight.  Darkness covered his eyes as he collapsed to the ground.

A figure approached Woohyun who, lay unconscious on the ground.  With an umbrella in his hand, he crouched down beside Woohyun and caressed his face."In the end, you can't escape me," he said with a smile.
