The coldness of winter still shakes Kai's core making the tall dark young man sigh while waiting for the person that he has promised to meet up with as it's been a while since they last saw each other. Kai is looking forward to meeting up with Tao since they've only been texting each other while they were away and it's been on his mind that he's getting way too fond of the tall young man and at the same time, getting to know the tall young man really heals the pain that he experienced from knowing that Sehun and Minho are finally together."Jongin-ah..." A voice calls out for him making the tall dark young man turn and smile as he sees the face that he hasn't been able to see for quite some time."You are late... I have been waiting for like, 15 minutes." Kai says making the tall young man laugh a little and give a slight hug to the tall dark young man and they both head to the awaiting car since they planned to spend the weekend together as Kai will be going back to his work right after; he will travel to Japan for a week and then to Vietnam for another week after that.Kai feels much warmer when he climbs into the car and sighs as the tall young Chinese man puts the bags away and then walks to the driver's side and starts the engine."Cold?" the tall young man asks making Kai smile and nod a little."Yup... but I'm starting to feel warm already." Kai says making Tao laugh and he realizes that he misses the tall dark young man's smile. They are still in the friendship zone but Tao appreciates Kai's open-mindedness after knowing that he is gay even though entering a relationship with another man still hasn't crossed the tall dark young man's mind. Still, Tao slowly tries to warm up to Kai as they have been close for the past two months and Kai never feels nervous around him and the tall dark young man always lets his guard down when they are together."Are you sure that you want to spend your weekend with me? Don't you think you should go back home and see your parents first?" Tao asks as he takes a glance at Kai."You don't want to spend time with me? We haven't hung out for quite some time." The tall dark young man answers making Tao smile."Yeah... it's been weeks since the last time that we ate and hung out together... still, you need to see your parents before you go to Japan since they'll probably miss you." The tall young man says."Fine... I'll go right before I go to Japan, besides, you have the weekend off because of me, right?" Kai asks making the tall young man nod and sigh at the same time."Kyungsoo was pouting since he was planning to spend this weekend with Chanyeol since he will be changing to his woman form tomorrow but I begged him to give this weekend to me." The  tall young man says making Kai chuckle a little."Really? There must be something you would do for him in exchange for this weekend leave, right?" Kai asks."Yeah... I will take the night shift for the next two weeks and let him off to spend the nights with his new lover." The tall young man says making Kai nod."You are too nice, do you know that?" Kai comments making Tao laugh and glance at the tall dark young man with love and move his palm to the side of Kai's face."Are you fully warm now?" Tao asks."I am. Thank you for taking your time and spending the weekend with me." Kai says as he takes Tao's hand and holds it for a while as they head to the tall young man's house as the day becomes much darker and Tao already said that he'll cook something for them for dinner.They arrive at the tall young man's house. Tao lives in a beautiful house and lot where his family once lived in when he was still young. He bought the house back from the then current owner at twice the market price and renovated it a little and once he came back to Korea to work at the Seoul University Hospital, the house was ready to be moved into and the tall young man kept a few details the same like he remembers from the past and placed a few pieces of decoration to give the house some young and modern touches.Kai has come to the house more than once, almost as if living with Tao and spending more of his time with the tall young man after their first meeting at the Christmas party last year."Welcome home." The tall young man says making Kai smile as he comes into the house and breathes in the fresh air that has been a constant in Tao's house and it seems like nothing changed from the last time that he was here."I'm home..." Kai says making the tall Chinese young man smile and walk to the second floor to put away Kai's bags and the tall dark young man follows from behind with a smile on his face."Nothing has changed and my room smells just as if I was here yesterday." Kai says making Tao laugh a little and brush on the tall dark young man's hair with love."Wash and clean yourself up then come down for dinner." Tao says making the tall dark young man nod with a cute smile on his face and Tao lets Kai settle down and take his time with his bath.Kai takes out his phone and makes a call to his mother and tells the elder woman that he's safely arrived and will be spending the night with Tao making the elder woman sigh."Aren't you supposed to come home first and then spend time with him after seeing us? It's supposed to be like that, right? Are you trying to be an unfilial child to your parents?" The elder woman asks making Kai laugh a little."Oh, come on... Mom! I'm coming back tomorrow and will be spending the night there and then I'll have to fly to Japan on Monday." Kai says making the elder woman sigh."You are going away again? What has your brother been up to sending you away like that?" The elder woman asks making Kai sigh while sitting down on the bed."He's just preparing me for the future work, Mom... our hotel business has become much bigger so they're sending me to seek an opportunity to make more branches for our hotel... we might have more than 100 branches of our hotel all around the world." The tall young man says making the elder woman nod and sigh even more."I miss you being at home and your brother is already like living in with his lover and I think I should go and see Sehun's parents and push the idea of marriage as soon as I can so that your brother and Sehun will start living in our home." The elder woman say making Kai nod."That would be good Mom since it's tradition for the elder to live with their parents, right? And I think they are ready to get married and have children, Mom." The tall young man says with a little sadness on his voice."Honey... I know that you like Hunah so dearly but knowing that you could not accept Sehun was just too bad... it is not your fate to be with him... I know that you are sad, sweetheart, but you have to let it go." The elder woman says making Kai nod and sigh a little."I know, Mom... I'm slowly doing that at the moment." Kai tells his mother."You and Tao are not going out with one another, right? Since you cannot accept Sehun as a man, Tao should just be the same, right?" The elder woman asks making Kai chuckle a little."Me and Tao? So far we are just friends. I know that he is gay and all but what I feel about him is a little bit complicated, I do like him and want to spend my time with him... it's odd but every minute that I have with him feels really special and he's been treating me with kindness and patience... I like that about him." The tall dark young man says."You like him that much huh?" The elder woman asks making Kai smile and blush a little."Yeah... I like him that much." The tall dark young man says."Bring him home tomorrow and let me and your dad officially meet him since you are thinking seriously about this. Don't you think it is about time you bring him home? I'll cook something that he likes... text me his preferred menu." The elder woman says making Kai smile."Okay, Mom... I'll see you and Dad tomorrow." The tall dark young man says and he puts away the phone after speaking to his mother and heads to the bathroom to wash up and then he goes down to the kitchen where he sees Tao putting final touches on their dinner."Sorry... did you wait long?" Kai asks with his cute smile."Nope... just finished, you did take your time in the bath I presume." The tall young man says making Kai smile and shake his head."I was talking to my mom and told her that I just safely arrived at your home, she's upset about it and she says that it is about time that I bring you home and meet up with my parents since I have been talking about you with them all the time." The tall dark young man says making Tao knit his brows."Really? When did she want me to come to your home?" Tao asks."Tomorrow... you are okay with it, right?" Kai asks making the tall young man nod and smile as he sits down beside Kai and brushes on the tall young man's hair and they start to eat their dinner with light conversation."We should buy something for your mom and dad tomorrow as an offering." The tall young man says making Kai laugh a little."An offering? That sounds so lame... but it's a nice thought... Dad loves to drink and mom loves everything shiny." Kai says making the tall young Chinese man's eyes widen."Shiny things, like jewelry?" Tao asks making Kai nod."I'm just saying but let's buy something that is good for her health." Kai says making the tall young man nod and continue to shove the food in his mouth as Kai says that dinner is delicious making Tao's heart bloom like spring flowers by the small compliment.   After dinner, Kai helps Tao in washing the dishes and then they both head to the living area and watch some variety shows at the TV and they bring along their can of beer, which Kai has already sipped a little, and sit down at the sofa while looking at the TV; it has been so long since he last saw any show since he has been working away after the new year.The tall Chinese young man sits close to Kai and is looking over the newspaper that's been laid at the coffee table since he has not finished reading it this morning.They are both silent for a while, just doing their own thing with Kai changing from one channel to another in search for a funnier show while Tao curiously skims over the newspaper since it's hard for him to be home in such a relaxing mood.After finishing reading the newspaper, the tall Chinese young man pulls out his phone and starts searching for something good for Kai's parents as a gift."Kai-yah... what does your mom like? Does she have any problems with her health?" Tao asks making Kai turn to look at the tall young man with knitted brows."Not that I know of... I think she is very healthy since she's taking really good care of her own health... compared to my dad." The tall dark young man says making Tao nod and he decides to look for a suitable drinking tonic for Kai's mom on his phone."No need to worry, just buy some red ginseng and she will be very happy."
